So, since I brought back The Bladewolf of Destruction, I feel it's only natural I try and redo my Son of the Deadman story. That's right, I'm bringing back my OC Ryan Maverick, the son of the Undertaker, and the story is naturally going to be the same though I'm hoping to get further than I had before.
The story starts in 2014 at WrestleMania 30 where Ryan will make his WWE debut. Ryan is still going to be paired with Alexa Bliss, but they won't meet until around late 2014 as I want to have Ryan establish himself in WWE first so most of the chapters will be RAW and SmackDown.
Ryan's gimmick will still be the same, that being a mix of himself and a dose of his father's American Badass gimmick. Heck, he'll even come out with a motorcycle and his theme will still "Kick Ass" by Egypt Central this time rather than "The Vengeful One" by Disturbed, though that's not to say he won't have that song at some point.
Let's get started!
Disclaimer: I do not own WWE. I only own the OC Ryan Calaway/Ryan Maverick.
Ryan Calaway, the son of the legendary WWE superstar the Undertaker, took a deep breath as he walked into the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, where the 30th WrestleMania event is to held. And also the event where he will make his WWE debut after years of fans speculating his eventual arrival to the WWE. After all, he's the Undertaker's son, eventually he's going to come to WWE.
Ryan was a young man of 21 years old, born on Halloween night 1991. He had long black hair that fell past his shoulders, which helped some see the resemblance between he and his father. His arms were covered in tattoos, though he had the names of certain people on his body. Across his neck, he had his father's name sprawled across. On the back of his neck was the name of his birth mother, Jodi Lynn. On his left ankle, he had his stepmother's name, Michelle McCool. And on his right ankle, he had the name of his little sister Kaia.
Ryan was born to Mark Calaway and Jodi Lynn, who married in 1989 and their marriage lasted until 1999 where they got divorced. ryan, having grown up watching his dad in the ring on TV and even attended some events, was upset that his parents split but even then his young mind understand that it wasn't working between his parents. However, neither wanted him to not see the other, and though Ryan stayed with his father, he did get to see his birth mother as often as he could when he wasn't with his father on the road to WWE (Then WWF) events.
Ryan grew up around WWE, got backstage passes and met some of the legendary WWE wrestlers such as Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Kane, The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Ryan's presence was a common sight at backstage WWE shows from 1996-2007.
When he turned fifteen, Ryan begain to train to become a professional wrestler like his dad, who helped train him alongside other WWE stars. When he reached the age of eighteen, Ryan went out onto the independent scene and made his professional wrestling debut at an indie show in 2009. He quickly began making a name for himself, and gained a loyal fanbase who began to realize he was the son of the Undertaker. He had often heard why he didn't go to WWE, and he would always tell themn the same reason why he hadn't.
"Just because my dad's a big-time wrestler in the biggest wrestling company, doesn't mean I should automatically join it. I want to make a name for myself, not be seen for being my father's son."
Now, Ryan didn't have a problem with being the son of a legendary WWE superstar like the Undertaker, eh was proud of his dad, proud that he was his fatger, proud of his career in WWE. However, Ryan didn't want anyone to think he got into wrestling and WWE quick simply because of who his father is, so he refused any offers the company made to him, and they soon stopped after his father stepped in.
In January 2010, Ryan made his debut in TNA, where he made friends with the likes of AJ Styles, Sting, Christopher Daniels, and others. Ryan's tenure with TNA lasted from January 2010 until February 2013, during which he became a three-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion, a three-time TNA World Tag Team Champion and a two-time TNA X-Division Champion. Due to differences of opinion when negotiating a new contract, Ryan walked away from TNA, ending his tenure with the company.
However, a month later, he would sign with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and continue making a name for himself. In NJPW, he became the IWGP Heavyweight Champion once, holding the title for 250 days, IWGP Tag Team Champion with his best friend Prince Devitt. He also became a member of the group Bullet Club alongside various others, including Devitt who was the leader of the group.
However, Ryan's time with NJPW came to an end in March 2014 when he left the company, finally feeling that it was time to make himself known in WWE and he hoped to make a big impact by debuting at WrestleMania 30.
"Nervous?" Ryan was snapped out of his trip down memory lane by the voice of his father who was walking beside him.
Ryan scoffed lightly and shook his head. "Wouldn't you? I mean, there's some pretty big pressure on me tonight."
"You'll do fine." Mark assured his son as he stopped and placed his hands on his shoulders. "Trust me, you're ready to be here. When you called me and told me that you want to speak with Vince and Paul about a chance with WWE, you have no idea how close I was to a damn heart attack." Ryan laughed at that as they continued walking, Mark's arm around his son's shoulder. "But other than that, I was glad to hear it. I know you dreamed of being in WWE at some point, but you wanted to make a name for yourself before doing so. I feel you've done that, and if anybody gives you any shit just because you're my son, then all it takes is one-call and my one-match per year schedule changes to a full-time basis again."
"I'll be fine, dad." Ryan said, then nudged his father. "I learned from the best to not take shit from anybody."
"You damn right." Mark nodded with a smirk. He looked ahead. "Looks like you'll be seeing a few familiar faces."
Ryan smirked as he saw three faces he had seen backstage several times in the 2002-2007 years. He rushed up and latched onto the back of one Randy Orton, startling the man.
"The fuck-?!" Randy exclaimed as Dave Batista and Paul Levesque (Triple H) laughed.
"What's up, Rands?" Ryan chuckled, getting down from his back.
"Well, look who's finally decided to show up." Randy smirks, pulling Ryan into a hug. "Last time I saw you back at one of these events, you hadn't even debuted in wrestling yet."
"So, the New Reaper's here to turn everything upside down." Batista smirked. "And just when I thought the product was boring."
"Dave." Paul sighed.
"Nice to see you too, man." Ryan fist bumped Dave then looked at Paul. "And how is my bald-ass godfather, who is so old he now has to look like Vince junior."
"What is it with everyone complaining about the suit?" Paul complained. "I've already heard it from Shawn many times before, and it's still not amusing. And old? I can still take you out to that ring and kick your ass, little boy."
"One day, lot of people will be seeing me kick your ass in that ring." Ryan challenged with a smirk, getting 'oohs' from Batista and Randy while Mark shook his head in amusement.
Paulk scoffed and pulled Ryan into a hug. "Good to see you, kid. It was about time you decided to come here, though I know you miss the other places you were at."
"It's a change, but I'll get used to it." Ryan admitted. "It's just the pressure of debuting in WWE and making my WrestleMania debut at the same time that's making me the most nervous."
Paul looked at Mark. "Did you give him a talk?"
"Already did, but he's got this." Mark said.
"None of us are doubting that." Paul said, earning nods of agreement from Randy and Batista.
"Got faith from half of Evolution, where's Ric so I can get his?" Ryan asked, making the older men chuckle.
"Come on, Vince will want to see you before you get started." Mark said. "And I'll need to get ready for my match with Brock later."
"Gotta pay that beast a visit, along with his advocate. I so did miss Heyman's... charisma. But first, to the Principal's office." Ryan said, making his father snort.
WrestleMania 30: 6/4/2014
The six-man tag team match between the Shield, the New Age Outlaws and Kane had passed, and it was now time for the battle royal for the André the Giant Memorial Trophy. The ring was already filled with many superstars such as the Big Show, Sheamus, The Great Khali, Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston, Goldust, Cody Rhodes, and Dolph Ziggler to name a few.
However, as everyone was waiting for the bell to ring and start the match, Kick Ass by Egypt Central played, confusing everyone.
"What the?" Cole frowned.
"Do we have a last minute entry?" Jerry asked.
"What is this?" JBL asked.
Everyone heard the engine of a motorcycle before someone drove out on a black 2014 Harley-Davidson 48. When fans got a good look at the person riding the bike, they lost it and screamed in shock as the camera got up close to see the rider's face.
"Oh my God!" Cole shouted. "It's Ryan Maverick!"
"What?!" Jerry's eyes widened.
"Ryan Maverick is here!" Cole couldn't believe.
"You've gotta be kidding me!" JBL laughed. "Only at WrestleMania can this happen! That is the son of the Undertaker himself that has arrived here!"
"But what is he doing here?" Jerry questioned.
"Who cares, King? He goes wherever he wants to go!" JBL said.
Ryan revved his motorcycle a few times before he beat his chest than raised his ruight arm similar to what his father would do in his American Badass gimmick. He then drove down the ramp as the song took off.
'Stand up! Get your hands up! Are you ready to kick ass!'
Ryan drove down the ramp and circled the ring, eyeing each WWE superstar in the ring, before pulling his ride to a halt facing the stage. He kicked the stand out and got off the motorcycle, showing the black leather biker jacket he wore over his ring attire. He soon took the jacket off and draped it over the motorcycle saddle, revealing his ring gear.
His attire was very much similar to his father's current attire, though much of his chest wasn't bared as the u-shape only went up to his pecs. He had similar gloves, two elbows, and a Undertaker TX symbol on the right leg of his attire, and the Grim Reaper on the right leg.
Ryan eyed the men in the ring as he adjusted his gloves for a minute before he stormed into the ring with purpose, making those standing near backing away quickly,
"Backing from him." Jerry noted.
"They should, King." JBL said. "That is the son of the Undertaker, trained by him, fights like him. We are looking at the one to carry on the Undertaker's legacy and he's made his name in places outside of WWE. Trust me, there's a reason to back away and be intimidated."
Ryan stood in the ring, looking at everyone with a small smirk as the bell is rung.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Later in the match
The match had gone on, and it was now nearly empty of everyone who had been in it save for three. Ryan Maverick, Cesaro, and Big Show. At the moment, Cesaro grabbed Big Show and managed to bodyslam him in the middle of the ring before attempting to send him over the top rope.
However, Ryan Maverick, who had been resting in the corner, rolled to his feet and marcher over, grabbed Cesaro by his legs and lifted him, sending him and Big Show over the top rope! RYAN MAVERICK HAS WON THE MATCH!
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Kick Ass played as the crowd gave a standing ovation for Ryan Maverick who fell to his knees with a few tears leaving his eyes as the realisation settled in. "Here is your winner... RYAN MAVERICK!"
Ryan stood to his feet and pulled the straps of his attire down to his waist before he raised his arms, with the crowd copying him, then did the same on the other side of the ring. He repeated this process two more times by going to each side of the squared circle. He exits the ring and looks at the trophy, gives it one pat, before making his way over to his motorcycle. He puts his jacket on, though leaves it unzipped, and drives up the ramp and onto the stage where he stops.
Without another word, his arm shoots into the air, earning a cheer from the fans with many copying the gesture, before Ryan drives off backstage.
Yeah, I wasn't going to attempt writing the Battle Royal. Too many people to count, and trying to focus on one in that squabble sounds hectic. Besides, Ryan was going to win anyway. And yeah, his attire is similar to what Undertaker wore after his 2004 Deadman persona, or rather after his return at the 2005 Survivor Series, though it's the version where the u-shape is closest to the neck and chest rather than dipped down to the stomach.
