A/N: Hello! To summarize briefly the previous chapter for those who wanted to skip it due to triggering reasons, Alastor tried to SA Charlie in his manic state but Lucifer was able to pull him off of her in time. They both saw his wound and Lucifer explained to Charlie that only she can heal him. Charlie plans on going to Vaggie for answers on how to heal Alastor completely. Lucifer placed Alastor in a holding cell many stories beneath the hotel. Charlie asked for him to bring her to Alastor so she could patch him up temporarily so it'll buy her time to find a permanent solution.
I hope everyone is still enjoying the story! The next chapter will be a fluffy one so you'll have a tiny break from the angst ;) Thank you again for all of the comments!
Alastor came to and realized that he was sitting in a metal chair with his hands tied behind him. He blinked hard to try and figure out where he was. He could see that he was in some kind of barred cell, that much was obvious. The room was just a concrete walled jail. Was he still in the hotel? The last thing he remembered was running out of his room and the closer he got to Charlie's room the more erratic his thinking was. He blacked out before he even made it to her door.
What happened to make him end up here?
As if to answer his questions, a heavy door creaked with Charlie and Lucifer coming forward. He snarled his lip at Lucifer but then noticed Charlie. She had a grip on both of her arms and wouldn't even look him in the eyes. She almost looked scared which baffled him because she's never been truly fearful of him. He instinctively leaned forward but was stopped by his restraints that bound him from behind.
"Charlie? Might I ask why I've been trapped here?" Alastor cocked his head as he saw Charlie's bottom lip tremble.
"Don't act like you don't remember you disgusting low-life." Lucifer spat at him. Alastor rolled his eyes
"Oh ouch please remind me to talk to my therapist about that one. Sorry to say though that I truly don't remember whatever clearly happened to warrant for me to be isolated like this." Alastor shook his wrists and let them hit the bottom of his chair. He had already tried to secretly break free but odd enough, it was like his power was gone.
"I told you." Charlie mumbled, her face still staring at the ground.
"Told me wh-" Alastor started but realized that she wasn't talking to him. She was talking to her father. "What happened, Charlie?"
"What's the last thing you remember?" Charlie wouldn't let her eyes meet his but she did raise her gaze to his shoes at least. Alastor's head was throbbing so it was difficult to think back that far. He remembered going to the bathroom and seeing his wound-
"My wound! In my chest, it's back." Alastor writhed slightly against his binds. He looked down and noticed his stained button up was still on him but his chest was fully exposed now. The wound had closed up again, the golden veins shrank to small little scratches.
"Charlie patched you. Answer her question." Lucifer said shortly. Alastor looked up and saw a twinkle fall from Charlie's cheekbone to the floor. She was crying.
"Charlie?" Alastor didn't understand what was going on and his fight or flight was kicking in badly. He tried with all of his strength to summon his tentacles but absolutely nothing came.
"What else do you remember?" Charlie sniffled. Alastor stared at the floor trying to rewind his memories the best he could.
"I-I noticed the wound so I came running to your room. Maybe half way...I blacked out." Alastor remembered that Charlie took over his mind so much that it was like his entire being shut down. "I don't remember coming to your room, if I even made it that far."
"Oh you certainly did-" Lucifer's eyes went a slight shade of crimson when Charlie placed a hand on his shoulder.
"That's enough, dad. Can I talk to him alone?" Lucifer looked at Charlie with a worried expression. Was he seriously worried about her being alone with Alastor?
"Of course sweetie. I'll be here in a second if you need me." Lucifer took another toxic glance at Alastor before wisping away. Charlie walked toward Alastor's cell, a dainty hand raising up and grabbing a silver bar. Alastor quirked his eyebrow.
"Charlie dear, I am a man of many talents but I'm afraid mind reading isn't one of them." Alastor watched as Charlie had an inner battle with herself about how to say whatever she had to say.
"Alastor...you did make it to my room." Charlie looked like she was going to continue but paused to take a breath.
"Ok? So you were able to heal me I assume?" Alastor was trying to put the puzzle pieces together but from Charlie's unsteady look, he knew he was missing something.
"I was able to patch you. After dad restrained you." Charlie's voice was completely lifeless. Alastor was used to her voice carrying happiness and positivity that this new deadpan voice from her borderline made his skin crawl.
"Why...why did I need to be restrained?" A part of Alastor screamed at him to stop asking questions but he had to know. He remembered Charlie flooding his mind and there was no telling what happened once he actually saw her.
"Um. Well I was taking a bath when you were banging on my door. I put on my bathrobe to answer the door and you...bolted inside in a frenzy..." Charlie did a tiny gasp as if she was having trouble breathing. Alastor stopped breathing himself. His lower stomach began to churn from the realization that there was no reason as to why Charlie stated what she was wearing unless it was an important detail.
Oh please no.
"I tried to calm you down, I really did. Your wound was so infected and I panicked and-" Charlie stopped to mash down a sob forcing it's way up. She had time to get all of this out of her system before Alastor regained consciousness. She needed to tell him. He had to know.
"You were like some kind of animal. Your eyes were wild and...you pushed me on the bed and...you straddled me and held me down..." Charlie's voice shook as she continued.
Alastor felt himself become light headed. There was no way that he did that. Not to any woman but especially not Charlie. His fingers twitched behind his back as he felt his body go into shock.
"You um...you tried to undress me..."
"No. N-No I couldn't have-" Alastor didn't know how much more he could listen. He actually hurt Charlie? He tried to...
"You didn't. Dad came and got you off of me before you were able to actually...do anything..." Charlie trailed off and took a sigh of relief to be done with the re-telling. Well that explained why he was tied up like Hannibal Lecter. Alastor let his head hang, not being able to even look in Charlie's direction anymore.
"Charlie I...Words can't explain how sorry I am...for the first time in my entire existence I'm ashamed of myself..." Alastor shook his head as he tried to reel himself back. Was his deplorable actions caused by his angelic wound or by his new obsession with Charlie? He was a basket case and he didn't know how to even begin to start a game plan to get himself fixed.
"I know you are. I know...I know that it wasn't you." Charlie looked up and saw that Alastor had his eyes to the ground. He looked unbelievably lost and it made her chest clutch painfully. She knew he had no control over his actions earlier and she knew he was disgusted by his actions. Even though he attacked her in such a vulgar way, she couldn't be angry with him. If anything she felt sorry for him.
"But it was. I may not remember what I did but it was certainly me that did it." Alastor said darkly. Charlie flinched from his suddenly aggressive tone. She quickly realized though that the aggression was not aimed at her, but at himself. He was furious with himself.
"Alastor you had no control. You should've seen how you looked-"
"I'd rather die a thousand more deaths than to watch myself do what I did to you." Alastor interrupted, his voice cracking at the end. Charlie crouched in front of the bars and stretched an arm out to put a hand on his knee. He twitched it away from her grasp.
"Don't attempt at comforting me Charlie, I don't deserve it. Please leave me be."
Charlie took her hand back as she stood back up, her body still against the bars.
"I can't heal your wound, Alastor. Not all the way but give me time and-"
"Don't waste your powers on healing me. I deserve to rot down here." Alastor didn't have the energy for anything anymore. Didn't have the energy to look up at her nor think about different timelines where he didn't visit her. His radio filter on his voice was gone so he sounded just like he felt. Defeated and pathetic.
"Alastor it wasn't y-"
"What if your dad hadn't shown up in time?" Alastor asked briskly. His eyes never leaving the concrete. Charlie almost choked on her spit. She had asked herself that question a million times before he ever woke up but to hear him ask it was sobering to say the least.
"What if he hadn't shown up at all? What if I was able to..." Alastor couldn't make himself finish the thought. His stomach tossed at the thought of actually violating Charlie.
"You didn't though!"
"BUT I COULD HAVE." Alastor finally raised his voice loud enough that the bars vibrated, the sound reverberating off of the concrete walls. Charlie took a step back without thinking.
"Then we would've dealt with it. It's hell, shitty things happen all of the time. If you were successful then I still would've known that you didn't do it purposefully." Alastor's eyes got wide at her statement. He finally looked up and met her eyes. She was being completely truthful. He didn't become a powerful Overlord without being able to tell when someone was lying to him. She was being 100% truthful.
"How can you even look at me right now?" Alastor felt a few tears cascade down his risen cheekbones and he hated that he couldn't wipe them away. They glimmered proudly for Charlie to see.
"Easily. I'm looking at my business partner and my friend that is very sick. I will fix you, Alastor. I promise." Charlie gave him a weak smile. He felt his smile lessen ever so slightly.
"I don't deserve it." Alastor managed to get out even though his throat felt like it was filled with cotton.
"Let me decide that. Deal?" Suddenly Alastor's hold on his wrists were gone and the barred gate opened. He massaged his wrists gently as he stood up. His ears laid flat as he slowly approached Charlie. She had her hand held out as she looked at him with kind eyes.
"Alastor I know you won't hurt me." Charlie seemed to have read his mind. He took a breath and reached out to shake her hand.
"Charlie if any harm ever comes to you, it will be because I'll already be dead."
