Author's note: Yep, you heard it here, folks - TLK is very much a music-oriented franchise, so I will be adding my own songs to fit with the altered plot! Let me know what you think!
Tune is up to viewer interpretation until I inevitably put it to music, but I've added '#' signs to denote spoken word and '%' whenever a character starts/resumes singing.
*song starts as Kiara spots a butterfly on a rock and crouches down to pounce on it*
Kiara: #Mighty hunter...catches her prey! *leaps and lands on the rock, missing the butterfly* Oof!
Kiara: Ugh... % it's not like I'm not trying to do what I need to do,
to show my dad and mom that I'm a princess pure and true,
as queen of the savannah, someday I'll make my debut,
but that's just half of who I am!
*Kiara keeps chasing the butterfly as it pans out to Simba, who is standing atop Pride Rock keeping watch over the Pridelands*
Simba: I know that she'll learn someday just how much it means to me,
That she learns how to show the world how regal she can be.
One thing I can't admit is I can't stand to set her free,
because she's a part of me...
*cut to Tiifu and Zuri tormenting Zazu by the waterhole*
Zazu: These cubs just won't let up, it's like they'll never let me go!
I think I felt a fang just bite my wing, # what's next? My throat?!
*cut to Kiara playing with the butterfly*
Kiara: % Pride Rock is my castle, but the sunlight is my moat...
*she looks out at the Outlands*
Kiara: I know there's more out there for me to see!
*cut to Simba heading towards the waterhole to check on Kiara*
Simba: What if I'm too late, and there's no time left to react?
I hate to think the trouble that Kiara might attract.
The way that girl behaves, she might give me a heart attack!
Simba, Zazu and Kiara: If only all this stress would set me free!
*Kiara narrowly misses the butterfly again, and this time, she's had enough. She bares her teeth at her winged tormentor as the tune goes up an octave, trying to prove she's more than just a demure and dainty princess not to anyone else, but to herself. She starts following it closer and closer to the Outlands.*
Kiara: It's all up to me,
it's my own destiny -
Daddy, I wish you could see
there's more to me than what I'm s'posed to be...
*cut to* Simba: You still don't understand that
*they sing this last bit in unison, with cutaway views of all three*
Simba: You're a part of who I am~
Zazu: *screaming at a random gazelle* GET ME AWAY FROM THEM!
Kiara: You're only half of who I am!
*The cameras showing Simba and Zazu disappear as Kiara trips over a log and bumps into Kovu*
Kiara: # Oof!
