"Damon stop annoying Lexie for a goddam second!" Stefan chastised his brother who was sitting on a pillow.
With Lexie's head underneath it.
"She should know better, I mean what was she expecting? A kiss? Phew!" Damon replied while grinning like an innocent angel.
"Stop being such a dick and get up you ass!"
"Fine, but you my dear little brother are no fun." The elder Salvatore replied while getting up and vamp speeding to the other side of the room to avoid the pillow Lexie will surely throw him.
God that girl could throw.
"Give thanks I love Stef because if I didn't you would've been dead by now!" The blonde said throwing said pillow to Damon.
"Aww Lexiboo, I love you too." Damon replied while laughing and running from Lexi, who was already chasing him.
Stefan just rolled his eyes as he watched his big brother and best friend vamp through all the boarding house laughing.
Truthfully, his relationship with his big brother wasn't always as good as it was now. It took a lot of tears, fights and resentment to finally fix all their problems. At the end Stefan just missed his big brother and Damon just needed his younger brother.
He proceded to get all the paperwork Damon had left for him since the Boarding House was still functioning. They had an agreement; his focus was making sure the boarding house was in good conditions and Damon took care of all the finances.
Besides if he didn't do it as soon as possible, Damon's OCD would kick in and drive him crazy.
[...]
Damon was mature enough to admit he gets bored pretty easily.
If he wasn't doing something that required all his attention and focus he tended to do something impulsive that most of the time it ended being something incredibly stupid.
Maybe vampires could get TDAH too.
If he isn't working on the boarding house's finances he proceeds to clean it. From the rug to the windows, he cleans everything because between Stefan's pack rat tendencies and the fact that he can't stand watching something out of place, it's the only thing that keeps his sadistic mind occupied for a very long time.
Which is how he ended up cleaning the master clock in the living room.
"I don't know why you and Stefan doesn't change that clock, it's old enough to be worth millions." Lexi said entering the room with a book on her hand, obviously intending to read it by the fire he just lighten.
"Well as you can see L, we already are rich and besides I won't listen to you since you have no taste for antiques." He said finishing cleaning the last part of said clock.
Lexi just rolled her eyes while she took a place at the sofa that was near the fireplace. She was used to it by now. Stefan's brooding and Damon's dark humor.
It was amazing how two people shared the same DNA but shared nothing in common.
While Stefan was serious but kind, the heart of gold of the family, casual and it was just so relaxing being around him; Damon was the passion, the sense of adventure, dark hearted but a fierce love to those who he cared about, there was something about him that one could never get bored around him.
While Stefan would die for Damon; Damon would set fire to the whole dam world if it meant Stefan would be safe and sound.
Even if they were too proud to admit it.
No one knew the Salvatore brothers better than Lexi. Maybe it was because she had dated Damon a lifetime ago and she has been attached to the hip with Stefan since his transition, maybe not. But either way, they were a family. Her family.
"So...do I get to know what are you thinking or you will make me get it out of you? Because I can and I will." The elder Salvatore replied grabbing his daily glass of bourbon.
"You wish you could, but if you insist to know." Lexi took a deep breath. "I'm worried."
"Why?"
"You know I am older than both of you, so I have way more past than you." The blonde said without tearing her gaze from the flames.
"I know, I like my women a little bit older."
"I have this...strange feeling that my past will catch me sooner than I expected too." Lexi said ignoring Damon's remark.
Damon couldn't help but worry about that. He knows Lexi better than any other woman that has been in his life; even more than Katherine. But he doesn't know much about her past other than the fact that she didn't like to speak about it.
"My...family kept a lot of secrets, some important some not that much. But the Brandsons were more than just normal people. There is one secret that has haunted me throughout my very long life." It pains her to speak about this out loud but if her instincts are right, she will need the Salvatore brothers more than ever.
"What type of secret?" Damon was sure he will regret asking this.
Lexi got up and grabbed an old book hiding in the corner of the bookshelf and returned to her place in the sofa.
"The capital sins." She said hugging said book to her chest.
"Really? THAT is the "big secret"? Come on Lex! Everyone knows what the capital sins are." The elder Salvatore exclaimed half amused half relieved.
"What they don't know is the thruth, Damon." Lexi said forcing him to look at her in the eyes. "What the world knows about them is the painted story that is too simple for the human eye. But it is so much complex than that."
He remained sited in his place silently telling Lexi to proceed.
"A long time ago humanity was ruled by all this terrible acts and feelings. Lust ruled all men's thoughts while pride ruled every women's actions, and it was getting out of hand. Adolf Brandson could not stand seeing humanity being ruined by them. So he traveled a lot of places till one day he found someone who could come up with a solution for his problems. A Bennett witch."
Damon couldn't help but groan of frustration; were there was a Bennett witch there was problems. Usually big ones.
"She told him that she could create a spell that would contain them but not completely. By doing that it would...lessen the influence of the sins in people." Lexi knew it was risky letting him know about this but if something did happened to her she will need them to fix the problem, no matter what. "There was also a price to pay. For them to be contained it would need something; or in this case someone; to contain them. A vessel. But it needed to be supernatural. Esther Mikaelson had already created the doppelgängers and there were two alive already. Tatia and Amara. So they agreed that they needed doppelgänger blood to contain them, and they did. The first sins to be contained were wrath and pride. Tatia became the wrath while Amara became the pride. And each doppelgänger born after that will automatically become a sin.
"And what happens if there are more than 7 doppelgängers?"
"That's the thing. The spell made sure that once there were seven, the doppelgänger spell with be erased from existence." This was the difficult part to tell him.
She knew the effect that SHE caused on both the Salvatore brothers so she needed to be careful how she handled it.
"It was actually working. They managed to capture Tatia and Amara and put them in a safe heaven so they couldn't get out and they did the same with the other five. But one managed to get out."
"Please tell me it was lust, because that girl will be Phew! Sexy!" Damon wiggled his eyebrows hoping that would get Lexi's tension from her shoulders.
"There is one thing I didn't mentioned earlier."
"Why are you looking me with pity? What did I do?" He felt pure ice when he heard her answer.
"Her name is Katerina Petrova."
Sooooooo, this is my first try to write a story and ill try to post most often.
So in this story Stefan and Damon have already fixed their relationship and Damon was alredy resigned that he couldn't rescue Katherine but apart from that everything from the show that hasnt been caused by Elena, the existence of Jeremy, caroline, bonnie, matt and tyler are still the same.
jeremy is an only child in this one. But Elena is his cousin that he doesn't know she exist. And ill be clearing more doubts in the future.
Anyways, hope you enjoy it and please if you can tell me your opinion ill really apreciate it.
