Chapter IV
Naruto and all the genin who passed the first exam were gathered around Training Ground Forty-four otherwise known as the Forest of Death. Naruto was with her team but could hear another Konoha team nearby, Team Seven. Team Seven consisted of Sasuke, Sakura, and Kiba and they were dangerous when it came to hand to hand combat.
The gathered Genin were waiting for the second proctor for the Chunin Exams Mitarashi Anko. Anko was well known as being the only survivor of Orochimaru's team and the only known survivor to receive the Curse Mark of Heaven. Though she has the mark she has never used it she refuses to use it.
Naruto knew Anko on a personal level in fact Anko had taught Naruto plenty of things about being a kunoichi. Anko even taught Naruto how to train her speed into what Naruto call's Shunpo, the Flash Step.
"Alright you lot shut up and pay attention!" came Anko's voice over a loudspeaker.
The gathered Genin stopped their talking and turned towards Anko who was in the center of the clearing with a microphone hanging from her ear.
"Welcome to Training Ground Forty-four and the second phase of the Chunin Exams. The second phase is a survival exercise. You have five days to reach the center of the forest where you will find a tower. But that's not all you also have to acquire two scrolls, a heaven scroll and an earth scroll. Only teams with both scrolls when they reach the tower will pass the exam. Oh and only a whole team will pass, meaning if one of your teammates dies during the exam you fail." Anko explained.
"What about food?" asked a hungry Choji.
"You have your rations, also there is plenty of food in the forest if you know where to look." Anko said with a smirk. "Now then everyone, come forward and get a waiver saying any and all injuries or death that occur during the exam is not Konoha's fault."
One by one the Genin came forward and got a waiver then went into a tent to exchange their waiver for a single scroll. There was no way to tell who got what scroll so there was no way of pretargeting a specific team. Once each team had their scroll and was at a gate that would let them enter the forest which was walled off.
"Alright, the second phase of the Chunin Exams starts now, good luck." came Anko's voice over the loudspeaker once again.
The gates swung open and all teams rushed into the forest each with the same goal to acquire a second scroll and survive. This phase wouldn't be easy but then again being a ninja wasn't always easy there were times you'd have to make the difficult choice or face odds that seemed impossible.
Team Eight had an Earth Scroll so they needed a Heaven Scroll and Naruto had a feeling their exam wouldn't be easy. She had a gut feeling that her team was being targeted. Was team Eight weak? Not by a long shot in fact Team Eight was one of the strongest Genin Teams in Konoha.
Team Eight had contingency plans for almost any scenario knowing that they could be forced to fight another Konoha Team, or worse a team from Iwa. Iwa still held a grudge on Konoha after the third war when Minato single handedly turned the tide of the war with the Hiraishin no Jutsu. And Naruto wasn't stupid she knew damn well Iwa would target her, after all she looked almost identical to Minato which either meant she was a direct descendant of his or a clone.

"Well boys we found the perfect prize. Kill the two boys. I want the girl left alive. She can be fun." said that leader of an Ame team.
The two underlings looked at Gaara and his siblings knowing full well what their boss wanted to do to Temari. Gaara also knew what the leader wanted and he was angered and disgusted plus Temari belonged to Naruto not this creep.
"If you value your lives, run now or suffer the fate of an early grave." Gaara said coldly.
Temari knew full well why Gaara was so protective of her and Kankuro ever since the resealing of Shukaku and she knew Gaara approved of her relationship with Naruto.
Sand began to pour from Gaara's gourd that was tied to his back and began to fill the air.
"Last chance." Gaara said.
"You can't beat us." the leader said.
The leader then pulled out an umbrella and threw it into the air as it began to spin rapidly.
"Jouro Senbon!" the leader yelled.
Just then needles began to spray from the umbrella only to be stopped by a wall of sand.
"I see you have chosen death, so be it." Gaara said coldly.
Gaara thrust a hand forward as sand rushed the three Ame nin engulfing them in sand.
"Sabaku Soso!" Gaara yelled, crushing all three Ame nin causing the sand cocoons they were trapped in to implode.

Team Seven was in a clearing in the forest facing down a Kusa nin who had a fixation on Sasuke.
"My my Sasuke-kun, such power. I can give the power to kill your traitorous brother." the Kusa nin said.
All three members of Team Seven were frozen in fear they hadn't felt power this ominous since Zabuza in Nami.
"What's the matter Sasuke-kun? Cat got your tongue?" the Kusa nin said with a n amused chuckle.
This ninja was no ordinary shinobi and there was no way he was still a genin if he was this powerful.
"W-who are you?" Sakura managed to ask.
The Kusa Nin chuckled in amusement before his neck sudden;y stretched forward and bit Sasuke on the neck. As the Nin bit down a three tomoe mark appeared on Sasuke's neck causing Sasuke to cry out in pain before falling unconscious.
"Don't worry about who I am, just know that when the time comes Sasuke will seek me out." the Kusa nin said before dispersing in a swarm of snakes.

It had been almost six hours since the start of the second exam and Team Eight already faced their first opponents, a team from Iwa, just as Naruto feared.
"Well well well. What do we have here? The Namikaze bitch and her lackies." the leader of the Iwa team asked rhetorically.
"What should we do with her boss?" asked one of the other Iwa nin.
"Kill her of course Namikaze may be dead but we can still strike back at Konoha by killing the heir of Namikaze." the leader replied.
"Hinata you take the dumbass on the left, Shino you get the dumbass on the right, and I'll take the leader." Naruto said firmly.
"Hai." Hinata said.
"My beetles will feast on his chakra." Shino said in his monotone voice.
"Let's make this quick boys." the Iwa leader said.
