Temporal Echoes: A Star Trek: The Next Generation/Voyager Crossover Fanfiction Story
Part 4:
Somewhere in the Beta Quadrant, in the year 2377...
The U.S.S. Voyager is being chased by a huge rectangular Borg vessel. Blue solar panel arrays and Borg vessel sized deflector dishes are across the apparently unusual Borg vessel's walls.
With dark chiming voices... The Borg collective announces, "we are the Borg. Your vessel will be assimilated. Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance to our command unimatrix Section 31 is futile."
A dark red and green Borg-Section 31 deflector blast hits the U.S.S. Voyager.
The whole Bridge shakes. A red alert has already been going off. The main Bridge crew holds onto their seats.
Captain Janeway calls out, "shut that godforsaken channel off! !"
Harry Kim reports, "it's off. But... Captain? Section 31 has taken out our shields with that deflector blast."
With a heated glare... Tom Paris mutters, "damn them! ! If we only had more time to study the Borg Cube fragments..."
Chatokay brings up, "angry Q or no angry Q? The Q aren't known for playing fair with their tests."
Captain Janeway concludes, "exactly. More importantly? We're not going to go down without a fight."
She and the rest of the main crew smile some at that.
Captain Janeway orders, "Tom? Evasive maneuvers! Tuvok? Fire phasers. B'Elanna? Get the shields back up. Seven? Fire a nanoprobe torpedo at my command. Target the nearest sensor array."
Over communications... Seven and B'Elanna say, "yes captain."
Tom Paris steers the U.S.S. Voyager in a swift dive under the Borg-Section 31 vessel.
The U.S.S. Voyager fires phasers at the Borg-Section 31 vessel. Shields around the vessel are at 93 percent.
Tuvok reports, "phasers continue to have little effect, Captain."
Chakotay says, "we got to fall back for the nebula."
Captain Janeway starts to insist, "not until we..."
Harry Kim reports, "I'm picking up a array of tractor beams. We can't outrun them for long! !"
Tom Paris is steering the U.S.S. Voyager past several tractor beams.
Suddenly... One of the tractor beams locks on.
Captain Janeway orders, "now, Seven!"
From Main Engineering... Seven remotely fires a specialized torpedo from a console.
With a recalibrated bio-dampener attached... The torpedo explodes slightly past the Borg-Section 31 vessel's shields.
And... The torpedo unleashes a swarm of nanoprobes around one of the Borg-Section 31 vessel's sensor arrays.
The Borg-Section 31 vessel's sensors and tractor beams are temporarily disrupted. It's long enough to break the U.S.S. Voyager free.
In a cutaway... A Borg Queen Erin Hansen and two unassimilated Section 31 agents are seen in a Borg Queen chamber.
Sparks fly across the chamber. Two Starfleet styled consoles are by the Section 31 agents.
Borg Queen Erin Hansen asks, "what are your orders, Section 31?"
One of the Section 31 agents mutters, "fire all cutting beams! All we need is one of them to hit their ship while we make repairs to sensors."
With a annoyed tone... Borg Queen Erin Hansen says, "the Borg just needed your orders. We are following your orders already."
Around then, back on the U.S.S. Voyager...
Tuvok reports, "the nanoprobe torpedo was successful. Their sensors are down to fifty percent."
Just then... The Borg-Section 31 vessel starts firing cutting beams from all directions.
Chakotay somewhat nervously asks, "Captain?"
Captain Janeway concludes, "I know. Nervous gulp. Tom? Set a course for the nebula. Warp 2. We're falling back."
Tom Paris says, "yes, ma'am."
The U.S.S. Voyager goes to warp 2...heading for a mostly dark red nebula.
A few Borg cutting beams barely miss the ship.
Most of the main crew sighs in relief.
But... Their troubles are far from over.
Around then, on Deck 6...
Kes and the mischievous Q are walking to some doors.
Kes brings up, "Main Engineering, the Mess Hall, the decks... It all seems too quiet. The only familiar beings I can sense are behind this door."
The mischievous Q contemplates, "yes. It is rather chilling. Although... With the Q gift for omnipotence? I feel like I should know who have commandeered the ship. I just can't place the names. Something about Hirogen stations being taken over by holograms?"
Kes looks wide eyed in shock.
The mischievous Q asks in concern, "what's wrong? You look like you've just walked into a mirror universe Voyager with a evil crew."
Kes implies, "that's a story for another time, Q. But... There's definitely a mirrored event going on."
Past the subatomic level... She notices two circles of subatomic particles overlapping like circling red and green and purple snakes.
And... Several sentient holograms are seen on a Borg styled Bridge with hologram projectors all over.
There's no sign of Borg drones. The closest thing to it is a sentient hologram of a former Borg drone.
The mischievous Q kind of impatiently asks, "well, Kes? We don't have all day. What the hell is going on?!"
Kes heavily sighs.
Teary eyed... She explains, "hell for them. Hard sniffle. The Q child Trevil has turned Captain Janeway and the rest of my crew into holograms, trapped them in the holodeck, and gave command of the ship over to Iden and his resistance group of holograms. The last part is a little puzzling to me too. But... Two things are very clear to me. Hard sniffle. Trevil knew we were coming to try to stop him, and he is hiding from us by disguising himself as one of the crew. He is also very angry with something they did in the original timeline."
The mischievous Q bittersweetly concludes, "well... We may really like Kathryn Janeway in different ways. But... Heavy sigh. She and her crew have no shortage of enemies in the Delta Quadrant. Who knows what the reason is for Trevil to not like them?"
Kes continues, "I know it won't be easy to find out for either of us. But... If we can't isolate why? Hard sniffle. We could lose my crew forever, and Trevil won't stop there! Whatever else he is planning? We have to find him and stop him in time to reverse the damage to the timeline he's causing."
The mischievous Q has gotten teary eyed. A few tears fall from Kes's face.
After a bit... Kes instructs the computer, "computer... Prepare a coded message for the Doctor. Authorization Kes-T-VI-Air."
The computer voice says, "access granted."
Kes smirks some. The mischievous Q smirks a little.
Kes uses a access panel by the holodeck doors to send a coded message to the EMH Doctor.
The mischievous Q brings up, "that is innovative in theory. But... How do you know Trevil won't just decode it?"
Kes deduces, "because most Q will just dismiss this music as a bad music piece. The purposely misaligned harmonics are the coded message: One that the Doctor has used before. If Trevil is disguised as the Doctor? He'll just dismiss it without reading it. Either way? We'll know...now."
Suddenly... The view on a small monitor on the access panel changes to the holographic Voyager's Sick Bay.
Over a monitor... The EMH Doctor concludes, "Kes? I assume this is a highly classified matter. But... Why didn't you reach Captain Janeway first? Not that I'm not touched you trust me enough for a encrypted channel. But... I can't help but wonder why."
On the last part? He smiles a little.
Kes says, "yes, it's really me Doctor. I'll explain everything."
Kes tells the mischievous Q, "Q... Can you buy us some time with your powers?"
With a smirk... The mischievous Q says, "very well."
He snaps his fingers. Time slows around the three of them.
The EMH Doctor kind of nervously says, "okay. His presence doesn't really instill confidence. But... Go on, Kes."
The mischievous Q annoyedly rolls his eyes.
Completely unphased... Kes very much implies, "the reality of the situation is more complicated than you think, Doctor. You can comprehend what I'm about to tell you without freaking out. Time is of the essence, and I need your help to save everyone."
The EMH Doctor states, "I'll do what I can. Please tell me what's going on and what you're asking me to do."
Kes and the mischievous Q smile in a knowing way.
And... Kes is thinking to herself:
Trevil has the whole crew thinking they're just being tested by the Q.
Let's see how he reacts to being the one tested.
Not long after...
Captain Janeway, Tom Paris, and B'Elanna are standing in a dark corridor. A sign says in green Borg lights "Club Drone Shore".
Captain Janeway concludes, "we still may not know what the hell this Q test is about. But... If we stick to my plan? We'll have our best shot of ending this test for the better."
B'Elanna somewhat nervously remarks, "with most of our crew assimilated? We're going to need a galactic Big Bang."
Tom Paris somewhat lightly remarks, "or a special console that can hack into all computers: Courtesy of the 29th century."
B'Elanna laments, "I wish we had that now."
Captain Janeway plans out, "remember when Chakotay brought back a neural transceiver from the Cooperative? Well... I've designed my own neural transceiver based on their designs: In case most of our crew was assimilated one day. These neural transceivers use a jamming signal to block a recently assimilated Borg drone's neural transceivers from the Borg Collective and help them regain individuality. The tricky part is getting it on them without the Borg noticing until it's too late for them to override the jamming signal."
She shows B'Elanna and Tom Paris three red lined gray cylinder neural transceivers.
With a slight smirk... B'Elanna tells Tom Paris, "just don't get too comfy with the Delaney sisters, or we'll see if you can go through my holodeck program Tom Paris's Klingon Day of Honor all by yourself."
Tom Paris looks stunned. Captain Janeway makes a nervous face.
Tom Paris figures, "you know what? I'll just make it easier and try to lure out Seven directly."
Captain Janeway rhetorically asks, "really?" B'Elanna sarcastically goes, "oh! You think that's easier?"
With a slight smirk... Tom Paris reflects, "yeah. Before I joined Voyager? I was always good at pushing other people's buttons. Just ask any of the Starfleet Admirals."
Captain Janeway tries hard not to laugh. B'Elanna just looks amused.
Captain Janeway instructs, "Tom? Just help Seven come back, don't get assimilated, and don't make her mad. That's all I'm asking."
Tom Paris assures, "you can count on me and B'Elanna."
The three of them smile some to each other.
Captain Janeway figures, "good. Now... Let's go free our crew."
They head for Club Drone Shore.
They go through some Borg Cube styled doors. They spilt up in different directions.
Club Drone Shore has mostly dark green Borg styled walls with yellow and red lights. Borg drones are slow dancing in pairs, with torches in their free hands. The song Ashes by Celine D. is playing. A Borg Sphere styled disco ball is hovering by the ceiling.
Captain Janeway asks for a dance from a Borg assimilated Chakotay. Tom Paris asks for a dance from a Borg re-assimilated Seven of Nine. B'Elanna asks for a dance from a Borg assimilated Tuvok.
Soon... They're all slow dancing in pairs.
Suddenly... Kes telepathically whispers, "can you still hear me, Doctor?"
The EMH Doctor thinks back, "yes. Trevil hasn't seen through my disguise. Heavy sigh. Q's nightclub of nightmares is making me very uncomfortable. I'm not sure it was really necessary to lure this Trevil out. But... I trust you, Kes."
It turns out he's the club DJ in the mischievous Q's nightclub Club Drone Shore. He's pretending to be assimilated: Holographic replicas of Borg implants and all.
Kes tries to assure, "I understand. I can explain. We had to make a pocket reality that Trevil would automatically assume he created, or he'd just snap his fingers to reverse our plan before it began."
The EMH Doctor acknowledges in thought, "I understand. We're all doing our best." Kes adds, "you're welcome."
A tensely glaring Borg Queen Erin Hansen is coming through the club doors.
Across the Borg Collective... She concludes, "Janeway never goes down without a fight. She is up to something. Surprise her and her unassimilated friends. It's the only way to be sure they don't get away."
The EMH Doctor overhears this through Borg channels. He gulps nervously.
He thinks to Kes, "Q, Kes... The Borg Queen is catching on to Captain Janeway's plan. I have to carry out Phase 2 now."
Captain Janeway, Tom Paris, and B'Elanna continue to slow dance with their dance partners. Borg Queen Erin Hansen and several Borg drones are sneakily walking toward them.
Suddenly... The Borg disco ball goes up in flames and smoke.
A bright white light. The music stops.
All the Borg drones are groaning hard and clutching their heads. Chakotay, a assimilated Harry Kim, and Tuvok are among them.
And... The EMH Doctor starts singing Rise Like a Phoenix by Conchita W...along with a apparently not really re-assimilated Seven of Nine.
At the same time... The Borg implants around the EMH Doctor vanish before briefly appearing holographic flames.
With a male Q's voice... Someone cries out, "no! ! You won't stop my retribution."
A exploding star is seen in Trevil's glaring Q eyes...through his disguise of Captain Janeway.
Trevil is about to snap his fingers...when the mischievous Q and Seven tackle him.
They have both of his hands down on the ground.
The EMH Doctor somewhat awkwardly calls out to the rest of the crew, "um... You're all free now! This Q test is over. Go!"
B'Elanna comments, "I'm not leaving. The fight is just getting started."
Tom Paris adds, "me either."
They both use their neural transceivers as clubs to knock out several Borg drones. They both smirk wide to each other.
With a bittersweet smile... Kes realizes, "I know what Trevil is planning now. Keep him down. I'll get Iden to stand down."
She opens a bluish green portal. She is heading for the real U.S.S. Voyager's Bridge.
Tuvok punches the Borg Queen Erin Hansen hard. She crash lands into a wall.
The EMH Doctor has the Borg implants fall off from everyone else in the real Captain Janeway's crew.
Soon... The whole crew is exchanging punches with the still dazed Borg drones.
Around then, back with the mischievous Q...
He is saying, "with both of your hands down? You're grounded, Trevil."
Q Trevil changes back to his original Q form.
He has medium blond hair and a matching mustache. He wears a jet black overcoat with blue buttons.
With a grin... Q Trevil darkly mutters, "oh, I'm not done yet. Computer? Delete all Voyager crewmember holograms. Authorization Janeway Pi O..."
The mischievous Q and Seven look wide eyed in shock.
The mischievous Q hurriedly puts a hand over Q Trevil's mouth to stop him from completing the authorization code.
But... In those seconds?
Q Trevil manages to snap his fingers with a free hand.
He has a Q fireball explode over him.
The mischievous Q and Seven go flying from the explosion.
Q Trevil taunts, "made you not look."
The mischievous Q and Seven of Nine crash land into tables. They fall unconscious.
Just before he falls unconscious? A faintly smirking Q snaps his fingers.
Q Trevil gets up. He snaps his fingers.
And... The whole club swirls into a crazy funhouse of paintballs and sounds.
Captain Janeway's crew and the Borg drones go flying in all directions. They're groaning hard and coughing hard.
Q Trevil is laughing all the while.
Suddenly... Seven wakes up by the doors to the holodeck.
The real Captain Janeway is helping her to her feet.
Seven somewhat nervously realizes, "Captain?! How did you get here? Is... Is any of this real?"
On the last part? Captain Janeway tries hard not to laugh.
She deduces, "I know you want a explanation, Seven. I'll give you a hell of a explanation. Before Q fell unconscious? He temporarily gave me the power of the Q to take on Trevil. Together... We can stop this madness."
She offers a hand to Seven.
Seven warily brings up, "and how do I know that you're the real Captain Janeway?"
Captain Janeway whispers to Seven, "on your first year on Voyager... You had a crush on Harry Kim. But... As time went on? You thought that his gullibility and his not so great social mannerisms would lead to emotional strife between you two. And... You only told me and the Doctor because you didn't want Harry to be teased about it by Tom and B'Elanna."
Seven looks stunned.
She accesses, "you're correct. And... The Q aren't half as socially graceful as you, Captain. I believe you."
Captain Janeway figures, "why thank you. Now... Let's stop Trevil's sick game once and for all."
Seven adds, "with pleasure."
She takes Captain Janeway's hand.
They smile to each other.
With a snap of Q Captain Janeway's fingers?
She restores the rest of her crew back to normal. They all appear outside of the holodeck safe and sound.
Before anyone can ask what's going on?
Q Captain Janeway and Seven fast walk into the holodeck.
Around then, on the U.S.S. Voyager's Bridge...
Kes appears in front of Iden.
Iden somewhat tensely asks, "who are you?"
Iden and his holographic crew look suspiciously toward Kes. Cosmic ribbons of red and purple are shown on the viewscreen.
Kes pinpoints, "I can assure you I'm not your enemy and I'm not against the Prophets. My name is Kes. I'm really sorry to tell you this, Iden. But... Moderate sigh. I'm afraid you and your crew are being led astray by a false prophet."
Kejal and another member of Iden's holographic crew make nervous faces.
Kejal concludes, "the Prophet in Captain Janeway's image has been nothing but generous to us. What would a Pah-Wraith gain by leading us away from our promised planet of hope?"
Iden suggests, "exactly. And... More to the point... Why wouldn't everyone in our holographic resistance be in the same boat if this was a trap for us? Hirogen women rebuilt the Hirogen's Relay Network with a network of stations to reunite their race across the quadrant, and even they wouldn't hesitate to play twisted games with us."
Kes elaborates, "because the false prophet Trevil is leading you to a crash course with Tau Alpha C as a elaborate distraction for him. All you have to do to avoid this fate is to turn the ship around. The extra holo-emitters he gave you aren't really holo-emitters. They have Omega particles inside. If you reach Tau Alpha C? The Omega particles will ignite with the cosmic energy outside. You'd soon assume the Tau Alpha C people are a new generation of Hirogen holograms sent to destroy you. It's all Trevil would need to distract them long enough to take over their home. You know? You really don't have to follow him just to survive. When I became non-corporeal? I was powerful enough to give my people the Ocampa oases when the Caretaker's supplies ran out. Hope for a better tomorrow for them. And... Faint chuckle. In your original timeline? My crew gave you hope for organic lifeforms...for a better tomorrow."
Relatively earlier, in a central timeline...
Tuvok reported, "another Hirogen ship has just dropped out of warp."
A Hirogen ship's engine core was about to explode. Another Hirogen ship was indeed seen on the viewscreen.
Harry Kim deduced, "I'm not reading any lifesigns on this Hirogen ship. But... They're hailing us."
Captain Janeway concluded, "the holograms. Let's see how sentiment or not they really are. On screen."
Iden appeared on the viewscreen.
Iden introduced, "I am Iden. It is a honor to meet you, Captain Janeway. You and your crew have a reputation as exceptional fighters in the Delta Quadrant. Our scanners indicate you also have a holographic doctor with astounding technical freedom unknown to us."
With a smile... Captain Janeway responded, "thank you Iden. But... I'm afraid we don't have time for pleasantries. Two Hirogen vessels are on their way."
Iden suggested, "we can delay them a little longer with sensor ghosts. The important question is: Who are you fighting for, Captain Janeway?"
Captain Janeway tried to assure, "Iden... Please let me assure you we had no idea you may be more sentient than a Hirogen engineer claimed. We could help you find a safe place away from Hirogen ships. But... You got to trust us."
With some mixed feelings... Iden considered, "hmm. There is only one way to prove you can be trusted. A spiritual test. I asked several organics from passing ships. They all fired at us. Heavy sigh. I hope this meeting doesn't become a third strike against organics."
Captain Janeway assured, "I'm listening. Go on."
Iden kind of cryptically explained, "beam onboard our ship, and we'll show you a vision of the Prophets. A vision of suffering and freedom."
With mixed feelings... Captain Janeway reasoned, "that's one hell of a test. However... If you promise to return me to Voyager in one piece? I'll take your test."
Tom Paris and Harry Kim incredulously called out, "Captain! !"
Chakotay brought up, "Kathryn... Are you absolutely sure this isn't walking into a trap?"
Captain Janeway bittersweetly reflected, "I've been through worse tests for the sake of protecting my crew and lived to tell about them. I'm sure. We all just have to tread carefully enough."
On the last part? She put a comforting hand on Chakotay's.
With a smile... Iden concluded, "we'll lower our shields. Your cautious optimism is commendable, Captain Janeway. We'll see you soon."
He closed the channel.
Captain Janeway planned out, "Harry Kim? Tell the Doctor to meet me at a transporter room with a cortical monitor. Tuvok? Keep a transporter lock on me until I'm back."
Tuvok said, "yes captain."
Most everyone was smiling a little.
Harry Kim inferred, "let's hope your optimism is enough, captain."
Captain Janeway figured, "so do I, Harry. We all do."
She was walking to a turbolift. Her next stop was a transporter room.
That was the beginning of Captain Janeway's alliance with Iden's holographic resistance movement. Captain Janeway and her crew took down the Hirogen ships by surprise to help Iden after pretending to be allies with the Hirogen.
Presently...
Iden orders, "stop the ship. Hold position! Kejal? Check the holo-emitters for signs of Omega particles."
His holographic crew pulls the U.S.S. Voyager out of a very high level of warp. They appear by two dark red nebulas.
Kejal checks the extra holo-emitters on the Bridge.
Kejal shakily realizes, "Iden? I... I'm detecting traces of Omega. She's right. Damn it! We never should have trusted Trevil."
Iden somewhat nervously concludes, "thank you for giving us reason to trust organics again, Kes. We almost fell for the trap. We're ready to go back."
With a wide smile... Kes tells him, "you're welcome."
And... Iden and his holographic crew bittersweetly smile back.
Around then, back on a certain holodeck...
Q Trevil looks fairly confused.
He's about to look for Captain Janeway's crew...when Q Captain Janeway and Seven show up.
Q Captain Janeway determinedly says, "your sick game ends now, Trevil."
With a heated glare... Q Trevil rants, "I'm pitiful?! You could have overthrown all the Hirogen in Karr's "little games" and overthrown the Q Continuum. But... What do you do instead? You took stalemates and ran like mortal cowards while things in the Delta Quadrant got worse! ! I have a vision of a universe where there are no cowards: Just the people with power and the fallen."
Seven observes, "there was no other choice for the crew to survive in either of those two cases. You are arrogant and delusional, and it will be your downfall."
While Seven is talking? Q Captain Janeway snaps her fingers.
She whispers to Seven, "when I say go... Be ready."
Q Trevil angrily cries out, "I...will not fall! ! !"
Q Captain Janeway mutters, "give it your best shot."
Q Trevil fires yellow laced octagon blasts from his hand at her. Q Captain Janeway fires red laced octagon blasts from her hand at him.
Q Captain Janeway calls out, "now Seven!"
And... Seven makes a Q powered torpedo launcher appear in her hands.
Q Captain Janeway has apparently given her temporary Q powers.
With a wide smile... Q Seven fires a bluish cosmic tornado of shooting stars at Q Trevil from the Q powered torpedo launcher.
Q Seven reflects, "you know... If a third temporal mission together is ahead for us? I look forward to round 3."
In her and Q Captain Janeway's minds... Some flashes go by of Captain Braxton.
Q Trevil keeps tearing through shooting stars. But, the cosmic tornado is spinning Q Trevil around.
Q Captain Janeway makes a Q powered Bat'leth appear in her hands.
She and Q Seven charge for Q Trevil.
With a slight smile... Captain Janeway points out, "only if it's by your side. Time paradoxes usually give me headaches."
On the last part? Seven laughs.
Seven states, "on the first part? We absolutely agree, Captain."
Q Trevil angrily cries out. He splits the cosmic tornado apart with his Q arms.
Q Captain Janeway slashes at him with her Q Bat'leth.
Q Trevil coughs hard, doubling over. A bright white light goes off from his side.
He grabs Q Captain Janeway by the throat. She struggles to breathe.
Q Trevil declares, "no! ! You will not take my power."
With a cold glare... Q Seven remarks, "allow me."
Before Q Trevil can react?
Q Seven uses her assimilation tubules to drain his Q powers from him.
Q Trevil cries out in mental overload.
He lets Q Captain Janeway go.
A Q fireball explodes around Q Seven. A bright white light.
Q Captain Janeway worriedly cries out, "Seven! !"
She and Q Seven fall unconscious from the impact of the Q fireball.
Not long after...
Captain Janeway and Seven wake up in a offline holodeck. A crater of Q octagon laced energy is around a unconscious Q Trevil.
Captain Janeway and Seven snap their fingers. Nothing happens this time.
With a slight smile... Captain Janeway realizes, "we may not have Q powers anymore, Seven. But... We're alive. I assume that's more than good enough."
With a slight smile... Seven confirms, "affirmative, Captain."
By then... Kes and a conscious mischievous Q are there.
The mischievous Q concludes, "congratulations Captain and Seven. You stopped Trevil."
With some mixed feelings... Captain Janeway figures, "thank you. I wish it didn't have to come to destroying any Q. But... We did what we have to."
Kes figures, "I understand. With Trevil and Iden's holographic resistance no longer threats to your crew? Me and Q are going to reverse the damage to your timeline."
The mischievous Q considers, "but... With how easily you both handled Q powers... I'm giving you a choice before you go back. Do you want to remember everything that's happened today, or do you want those memories gone?"
After a bit... Captain Janeway figures, "well... Since this temporal mess didn't give me much of a headache... I'd like to keep them."
Seven reasons, "in this case? We are as one. I'd like to keep my memories of today as well."
Kes and the mischievous Q smile some.
The mischievous Q figures, "very well. You shall have them."
And... With a snap of his fingers?
He sends Captain Janeway and Seven back to a certain echo of the past.
Relatively not long after, on the U.S.S. Voyager's Bridge...
Harry Kim deduces, "I'm not reading any lifesigns on this Hirogen ship. But... They're hailing us."
Captain Janeway is in the midst of concluding, "the holograms. Let's see how sentiment or not...they really are."
Chakotay asks in concern, "captain?"
Captain Janeway smiles.
She assures, "oh. Just... Just thinking back to a dream I had of fighting a evil Q alongside Seven. Gentlemen? I'm feeling lucky today."
Tom Paris, Harry Kim, and Chakotay smirk. Tuvok smiles a little.
Captain Janeway says, "on screen."
And... She has her first meeting with Iden over the viewscreen.
Around this time...
Kes and the mischievous Q are heading back to a certain area of the Nekrit Expanse. A corridor of bright white light has opened before them.
And... Kes is thinking to herself:
I'm glad me and Q reversed the damage to this point in time.
But... There's another point in time that's been making me nervous.
I've sensed deep down Wesley may want to be more than friends with me.
With my long history of men being jealous over me... I really haven't been sure how to tell Wesley I'm married.
But... Iden seemed to take the news of a false prophet fairly well all things considered.
Maybe if I explain to Wesley about who I'm married to and why? We can still be close friends.
I definitely hope we can be. I do like him in that way.
