Chapter 3. Meet Team Prime

Onboard the Normandy
While the Normandy was in transit, John was help Ironhide with his injury. Thanks to his skills as an Engineer he was able to give him a patch job. But if the Autobots on had a medic with them then it would be best if he saw him or her.
Of course John asked questions about Ironhide and his race. He learned the Autobots, the faction he's apart of, has been at war with the Decepticons for eons. The Decepticons were lead by a former gladiator of the now Decepticon capital, Kaon. His name was Megatron.
Because of Megatron's quest for power, Cybertron, the home world of all Autobots and Decepticons was no longer able to support life. And most of all the very fuel and lifeblood of their race, which he discovered to be Energon, could no longer be produced since the very core of their world was poisoned by the very war which destroyed their home.
So with great reluctance Optimus Prime ordered for all Autobot cities to be emptied so that everyone could leave in order to find safe harbor amongst the stars.
Unfortunately the Decepticons chose to follow in order to finish their annihilation of all Autobots. Even with the war being over.
John couldn't help but feel sorry for the Autobots. In a way they were just like him and all the races back in his universe. Only differences are his people are finally free of the Reapers whereas the Autobots are constantly hunted down and the second difference is this Megatron guy was the reason they all were made exiles of their planet.
John then asked a question "Ironhide, you said that Optimus is currently on Earth with a team of Autobots, right?"
The old Autobot just nodded.
"Ok so how are we gonna find them? I highly doubt giant alien robots scream subtly." John pointed out.
Ironhide just smirk and said "Oh I don't think the humans know about Prime and his team. And the reason for that is they each no doubt scanned an Earth vehicle that way they could move about without drawing attention to themselves."
"Oh." John just said. That piece of information made him feel impressed and a little worried. Since the Decepticons were from the same race as the Autobots there no telling if he could be standing next to one. He would have to be on guard or find a way to single out friends from foes.
"But that still doesn't tell us how to find them. If they are in vehicle mode then finding them will be even more difficult." John pointed out until Sentry spoke after arriving in his sphere form "Actually Commander, I think there is a way for us to find them. Even if they are in vehicle mode."
The Spectre looked at the ships A.I. and asked "How?"
"When Ironhide was brought onboard, I detected a strange signal coming from him. Or more specifically from that insignia on his chest." Sentry said moving over to Ironhide.
"Oh yeah. These insignia do more than tell whose side we're on. They also give off signals that can be detected. Hopefully there aren't any Decepticons on Earrh." Ironhide explained.
It didn't take long for John to put two and two together. He then asked "So you think you can detect these Autobot signals?"
"I believe so yes. And if I find it then I'll zero in on their location." Sentry said.
After thinking about it and finding no flaws in such a plan, John asked "How soon we will arrive on Earth?"
"We will be there in a few minutes. And don't worry Commander. The ship will be fully cloak to all scanners once we exit out of FTL." Sentry answered.
"Good. While we go to speak with the Autobots, I want you to gather the Codex of everything from our universe. Minus the classified information." John ordered.
"Yea Commander." Sentry said before leaving.
John then turned to Ironhide and said "Let's hope one of your friends are out for a drive."

On Earth in Utah
On Route 50, Utah, the loneliest road in the USA, a red and blue truck was driving down the road. On the front of the truck was the Autobot insignia. This was Optimus Prime. Commander and Chief of the Autobots.
Optimus, like his fellow Autobots, minus Ratchet, was out on patrol. The road he was driving on was said to have the least human traffic. Not that he minded the humans. He simply wanted a quiet drive.
The last of the Primes was thinking of his beloved home planet. And all the memories he's made there. As well as the friends he lost during the war. He honestly prayed to Primus that Cybertron would someday be restored. If not in his lifetime then in the next.
Whatever Optimus was thinking of next was cut off as he noticed a strange aircraft approaching his position. From what he could tell it looked to be some kind of spacecraft. But it didn't look to be of Cybertronian origin. While it was big enough for humans it looked too small for an Autobot or Decepticon to use. But it couldn't be of Earthly origin as humanity has yet to accomplished space flight beyond their moon.
While keeping his eyes on the spacecraft Optimus activated his com and contacted base "Ratchet, a spaceship of unknown origin has landed in front of me. Send the other Autobots to my position."
'Understood Optimus but it'll take some time to bridge everyone back to base and to your position.' Ratchet informed.
"Understood old friend but in the mean time I shall proceed with caution." Optimus said as he deployed his weapons and cautiously approached the ship.
As he kept his weapons trained on the ship, the back part of the ship opened up and he saw someone crouch to get out of it.
When he got a closer look, his eyes widen in shock upon who he saw. He recognized the color scheme from anywhere.
"By the Allspark." Optimus said in a whisper.
Ironhide gave his leader and old friend a smirk while saying "Glad to see your time on Earth hasn't made you not to take cautionary action Prime."
As Optimus holstered his weapons, a ground bridge opened behind him and out came a blue motorcycle, a red dodge challenger, a yellow Camaro, and a green SUV.
The vehicles transformed into their robot modes and deployed their weapons.
Arcee, the smallest and only female member of the group, noticed Ironhide and said in surprise "Woah."
Cliffjumper, the red dodger challenger, said with a smirk "Now this is a sight I never thought I'd see again."
Bulkhead, the green SUV, said with a chuckle "You can say that again Cliff."
Bumblebee, the yellow Camaro, said with beeps and bloops "I honestly thought we'd never see him again."
Ironhide gave his fellow Autobots a smile and said "Glad to see some familiar faces." He then turned to Optimus and said "It's good to see you again Prime."
Returning the smile with his own Optimus said "The feeling is mutual old friend."
Arcee then decided to ask "Not to ruin this reunion or anything but can someone explain the spaceship and why Ironhide was inside it?"
The war veteran answered "You can thank my new friend." He then turned to the Normandy and said "You can come out Commander."
The Autobots all turned to the entrance of the ship and something they didn't expect. There coming down the ramp was a human in what looked like some strange armor that looked like a bug carapace.
"A human?" Optimus asked.
"There's an explanation for this Prime. One my new friend here is willing to give. But not here." Ironhide said.
Arcee then spoke up "Wait. Are you suggesting we take a human back to base? A human who happens to have a spaceship?"
"Trust me Arcee I'm giving a lot of trust than I should be right now but if we hope to get any answers we will need to bring him back with us. Plus he did save my life from some Decepticons who were being led by Blackout." Ironhide explained.
"Blackout?!" everyone except Optimus exclaimed. Blackout was the Decepticons best hacker and communication specialist. Just behind Soundwave. And he was also skilled warrior.
"Long story short, I was on my way here when Blackout and his squad ambushed me. They shot down my ship over a desert planet. When the Cons made their way to my position they started firing on me. I would've been one with the Allspark if John hadn't come along I wouldn't be standing here." Ironhide explained coming to the defense of the human.
Optimus was silent during his Field Commanders tale. He saw that his shoulder looked like it was patched up recently. He would have to have Ratchet to look at once they returned to base.
Optimus soon turned to the human and noticed he has been quiet during the whole ordeal. Deciding to address him, the Prime stepped towards the human and said "You actually saved Ironhide?"
"After a friend of mine caught his SOS. I couldn't just ignore a cry for help." John said to the Autobot leader.
"Then I thank you for saving my friend's spark." Optimus said with a bow of head.
"You're welcome but like I said a friend of mine helped me in finding him. I can introduce you to him later but I would advise we head back your base." John said as while the road they are on may have the least traffic in the U.S. that doesn't mean someone won't come by.
"And why should we bring you back with us?" Arcee asked with distrust in her voice.
John gave the femme a look and said "Beside the fact that I doubt you would any other humans knowing about your existence on this planet I am also the one who saved your friends metal hide. You also want answers about how I have a ship but I am owed answers as to why are there giant alien robots on Earth."
"I get that you don't trust me but I'm not sure if I can trust you either. You are all giant robots that not only can transform into Earth vehicles, you can also turn your arms into weapons. Which I can tell are powerful enough to pierce the armor of a tank. I am a human soldier and I have a duty to protect humanity from all threats. Whether they come from the outside or from within. And trust me when I say this: bad things happen to those who oppose me."
All the Autobots looked at the human in shock. Mostly Arcee. She may be the smallest of the group but she could still cause him some damage. And yet her instincts were telling her that this human was not to be underestimated.
Ironhide had to say that he was surprised by the John's words. At that moment he could tell he earned his rank as commander through hard work.
Bulkhead whispered to the other Bots "This humans got some big bearings." The others nodded in agreement.
Hoping to quell any arguments Optimus said "Arcee while I do understand your reason for being untrusting the human is right. If we are to get any answers then it best we take him back to base. Plus we should at least give him the benefit of the doubt as we owe him for saving Ironhide. And as a soldier he is simply doing his duty to protect his people as he doesn't know us. Would we be any different if the roles were reversed?"
As much as she hates to admit but Optimus was right. This was not their world and the human was just acting how any soldier would in order to protect their people.
With a sigh Arcee said "Understood Optimus." Then she gestured to the ship and asked "But what about that?"
"Oh that's not something to worry about. I can activate the beacon in my armor." John said with a shrug.
The Autobots were impressed by this human's quick thinking but Optimus said "I am sorry but our base is shielded. It would be impossible for whoever is piloting your ship to find you."
Taking amount to think John asked "Can I step onto your roof? That might help. And don't worry about the ship being spotted. It has the best cloaking technology there is. No one will be able to track it or see it."
That made the sentient machines go wide eyed. But then again he did manage to pull up on Optimus without their sensors going off. Which would also meant he was able to get on Earth without any trouble.
With a nod Optimus contacted the team's medic "Ratchet, reactivate the ground bridge. And prepare sickbay. We have an injured Autobot."
A moment later the ground bridge started back up and the Autobots went on through. John was mesmerized by the greenish blue portal. A part of him wondered what would life be like if this kind of technology existed in his universe.
Just as he stepped through the ground bridge John knew that was no doubt going to be in for one hell of a ride from here on out.

Authors Note: I might add one or two more Autobots and Devepticons in later chapters. Along with some more humans. But just so everyone understands I won't deviate from the original canon show but I will put in chapters that involve some downtime for Shepard, the Autobots, their human charges, June, and Fowler. Also don't expect any villains from the Mass Effect universe to appear. And I won't have John romance June.
