In the Jedi temple on coruscant a duel is being between two jedi padawan, it started in the big training hall on the wooden podium in the middle of the dull grey ornate room with famous jedi duellers on the wall.
Eebor, a Zabrak boy with sand colored skin, horns on his head, yellow eyes and two orange lightsabers, is ferociously raining down strikes on a dubble bladed purple lightsaber. These strikes however do not reach the purple skinned Adera, a torguta girl, holding the saber, every strike is met with at least one end of the dubble bladed purple. Eebor's two hearts are pumping, his blood rushing through his body like the energy crackling through his saber. He strikes down with a large swinging motion trying to bait Adere into overcommitting her defensive counter. As the two blades meet and the energy burst away from the clash heating up both padawans faces, Eebor has already used his second shorter blade to stab at Adera's shoulder. Something she saw coming, yet only narrowly avoids by turning the raised part of her saber meant to block the first strike downwards subsequently raising the other side upwards, pushing the orange beam away just abover her montrals, evaporating a little bit of sweat with its heat. Eebor attempted another strike with his main saber at her feet, meanwhile guarding with the second blade.
Adera jumped backwards off the podium trying to give herself some space to breath, fighting an opponent with twice the heart rate is no easy feat, she feels her heavy breath. She locks her deep red eyes with Eebor, figuring out her response to the attack she knows is coming. She could run, only he has more stamina, she could attack, only that would leave her open for a counter or she could defend more and wait for either Eebor to leave an opening or herself to slip up. In the split second that these options go through her head Eebor made the choice for her by attacking and forcing a defence. A single strike made by Eebor is easily blocked.
The next moment Adera feels a thumb in her stomach as she flies across the ornate room, towards a wall with a great banner of jedi master Arca Jeth, after being kicked. A sickening taste of saliva, a little poison and blood follows. Swift footsteps can be heard as Eebor is running in for a final blow. Adera jumps upwards faster than Eebor expected and dodges the incoming strike, twirling around so that her ignited saber would slash through the middle of Eebor's body. Sparks fly, as he narrowly manages to block the strike with his second blade held parallel to his body. He starts to grow impatient, running towards the wall, Adera takes a defensive stance as Eebor jumps upwards and wall kicks off the banner towards Adera slamming his blades down on her aiming on the hilt of her saber. Adera side steps to not get her blade sliced in half but must take the full weight of Eebors blades on one side of hers. Leading her to fall somewhat out of balance, Eebor attacks relentlessly, beating down on Adera's blade like war drums. Adera can barely avoid her saber being cut in half at the hilt, every hit makes it harder for her to stay balanced. The melody of the drumming down of Eebor is starting to lose it rhythm as Adera can only afford to block some of the blows, resorting to dodging for the rest of them. Eebor is getting carried away in the rush of his attacks. He doesn't even try to win the fight anymore, lost in the music like a dancer during a performance, he only wants to keep the music going. Until a sudden desperate counter by Adera when he wasn't guarding almost hits him.
An attack he could have seen coming, an attack he should have seen coming, if he was focused. An attack that would not have been possible if he had just finished the fight a while ago instead of getting carried away. This wakes him up enough to quickly stab at Adera's heart, leaving a little singe on her chest, ending the fight.
The two padawan stand in the big training hall and walk towards a podium so that they can sit and rest atop it:
"Good fight, you almost got me there at the end." Eebor smiled as he regained his breath.
"Not quite though." Adera managed to utter, through her exhaustion.
"One day you will, but until then I will enjoy fighting you as I have today."
"Maybe a little too much?" She asked, tilting her head.
"I mean, you heard it to, right? That was music right there." He proclaimed proud as a lion.
"Yeah, it was." She eventually smiled.
A stern voice spoke:
"Perhaps you should join a band rather than be a jedi if you get carried away like that, one day you will encounter an opponent who will take advantage of such passions." These words had come from a man that now stood before the two padawan, he wore a brown travel cloak and had the same composed demeaner as he did when he left. He had grown out a lumberjacks beard on his travels. He continued to speak, his voice remaining stern as he turned towards Adera:
"And you could be such an opponent, if only you had more conviction."
The padawans subtly shot into good posture and spoke simultaneously:
"Yes master"
The master smiled and spoke in a more friendly tone:
"Come on padawans, accompany me when I breach the council on my venture."
The jedi council room stands tall on the middle spire of the temple of Coruscant its giant windows look out onto the city-planet's high real estate, sprawling industrial district and lower residential area. In a circle around a giant chandelier the twelve seats of the high council sit. Only 4 of the high council were actually present in the room and 2 others were holographically present. They sat in their white chairs with blue velvet. Listening patiently to the Jedi master Orwell Rinn, who stood in the middle of the room while Adera and Eebor stood behind him. He reported on his entire venture into the Hydian way, the recently completed hyperspace lane that spans the whole galaxy. Most of the report was of little interest to Eebor, the details of how his master went from one empty planet or moon to the next seemed unimportant. Until Master Rinn told about a planet he visited that had something exciting on it.
"….furthermore on my expedition I found a plant, Tiss'shar that contained sentient life forms, also called the Tiss'shar." He showed a hologram off a bipedal reptilian with a long neck and a tail. The 2 jedi masters that were holographic projected squinted their eyes to try and see the hologram more clearly, after noticing this the padawans master said "for master Quin and master Thane I have send you the same holograms." Then he continued: "The Tiss are a proud and powerful people and now that the Hydian way is opened up it is not going to be long before they will go explore the galaxy, I think it would be wise to establish a diplomacy between them and the republic…"
This to Eebor sounded like an opportunity, maybe if his master would be selected to make contact with the Tiss, he could take him and Adera along? And just before Eebor's forward thinking got the better of him he spoke out of turn and said: "That sounds like a good idea"
Adera gasped a little as a short silence appeared until her master said to the council "forgive me, my padawan does have a tendency to get a little carried away" he continued to Eebor "you do know not to speak out of turn?"
While most of the jedi council looked a bit perplexed in silence, Master keylan barely concealed his grin and said: "yes it seems he is a little rash, but maybe that is a sign that it is time for him to get more experience in the world. So if you, master Rinn were to go on this diplomatic mission you could take your padawans along"
Master Rinn gave a stern look at Eebor and said "perhaps, but for now, let's continue the briefing…uninterrupted this time" looking at Eebor as he said that.
For the rest of the briefing, Eebor was completely silent. And at the end of the meeting, the lighting In the room had shifted from natural sunlight into a mixture of city lights from outside and the blue light of the chandelier.
"Thank you master Rinn, for that detailed briefing. Take some time to rest after the long journey, we will give you another assignment after a few days."
"Thanks you" Master Rinn said after which he left the room with Eebor and Adera.
The next couple of days were spent catching up and training.
