None of them were sure how everything gone to shit the way it had, but suddenly, Navy had lost his kingdom to his own son, under the control of God knows what, being turned against everyone.
Navy.
King.
His friends.
His family.
Everyone.
"Are we finally beating Navy's ass?" Green asked in anticipation as they snuck underneath the castle and into the basement.
"Yep. King and the others are gonna regroup with us, and we're all going to get rid of them for good." Sunny explained.
The others squealed with excitement. "It's about fucking time we get rid of them!" Second exclaimed.
"Sounds like you guys want to get rid of this guy for good." Sunny chuckled.
"He's killed us before. We want to get rid of him so that he can't hurt us ever again."
"We remember our strategy, right?" Sunny clarified.
"We take out Night Shade first, since he's got revival abilities, then we take out Navy and Orchid." Blue explained.
"Exactly." Sunny smirked.
"Now, are we gonna kick some ass or what!?"
"Yeah!"
"Chosen, I don't think this amount of weaponry is necessary, especially since we've got powers." Dark said.
"Well, only four of us have powers, five counting Willow, who's MIA at the moment, so the others are gonna need something to keep them on their toes while we take out the main part of the army."
"True."
"And Yellow left us the staff, so we'll have a lot better advantage with how powerful this fucker is."
"Fair argument."
"Either way, we have a larger advantage against these guys. This does not mean we will suffer casualties. This refugee population will drastically drop during this fight, so be mindful of that. If we could, we'd fly a flag half mast for our fallen comerades."
"Raise a glass." Dark muttered.
"Now, what the three of us will do is make a hit on the leader. Whoever they may be. We will attack them once all sides of the opposing armies are distracted, we will shoot their general and get the hell out of there."
"Like and hit and run? Hit 'em quick, get out fast?"
"Exactly. Afterwards, it is your choice whether to go after Purple and the others, or provide assistance in the fight outside the castle walls. But make sure that do your best to stay alive. Especially you, King," Chosen glanced at the taller man. "We cannot have you die when Purple needs you alive right now. I'm sure he'd even testify against even fighting in the war, even if it is for your sake."
"Yes, sir."
"And now, with that settled, I believe it is best for us to stop planning and start following through. And remember, a reminder to everyone here, try and stay alive. If not for your sake, or our friends, for Purple's sake. He needs all of us."
Second sneaked into the castle with great simplicity, knowing that the easier breaking in would be, the easier it would most likely be escaping.
Grasping Red's arms and hauling him in, the two worked to get everyone inside the building as swiftly as possible. They had an ally to save, and the fast they were all in and caught up on what they were doing, the easier it would be to get them all out alive.
"Avoid anyone you believe could be a threat," Second explained. "We find the throne room, and if Navy's there, we attack. No matter what happens, keep your lives as long as you can. Injuries will be taken, but we can not suffer however many casualties we may bear. Especially when it comes to us, and the rest of Purple's allies and friends."
"You sound so formal." Sunny commented.
Like her.
"I learned from Purple. He was a very smart person when it came to formulating plans. There may be flaws in a plan of his, but they were always worked around. And Sunny, you understand that this was your plan. We're all counting on your intelligence to get us out of this one. Since we can only count on Purple's intelligence to get himself out of here alive."
"Indeed. I do understand this is my plan. Second is also right. Keep yourselves from getting too injured, and stay alive as long as you can. I highly doubt Navy will hold back, and fully anticipate and expect a fight out of him instead of a retreat. Does everyone understand?"
"Yes."
Sunny smiled. "Let's do this. Everyone spread out. Hide as best as you can, and me and Second will take the lead. At "rochambeau", we all attack."
"Won't Navy realize it's an ambush?" Blue asked.
"Not if he doesn't see you guys," Second clarified. "Me and Sunny will be dressed as his army commanders, and he'll believe we are practicing in case out allies get inside the castle and plan to ambush the throne room."
"So you shout to warn his guards in his perspective, but in reality, your bringing about his end."
"Exactly."
"Understood."
"Now, find hiding spots around the throne room, don't draw attention to anything, and stay alive. And pray we all get out of this in one piece."
"You can count on us, Second." Blue reassured.
"I belive in all of you."
Once Sunny and Second had secured the area and deemed it clear, they readied themselves for what could be one of the most intense parts of their entire battle.
"You ready to dance with the devil?" Sunny asked.
"As ready as we might ever be."
"You think he'll see through it?"
"A chance," Second glanced at the uniform. "We might be painstakingly obvious to him, since he's fought us so many times. He's probably got at least me and my friends burned into his head by now."
"Then I'll go in. He knows I worked under him, so he'll believe I turned back to him upon deciding to assist him in fulfilling his empty promises to these innocent people."
"You are aware these people fighting for him have practically lost all sense, correct?"
"Some might not be too far gone. If they aren't, we might be able to fulfill some families dreams of seeing loved ones again. These are husband's, wives, grown sons and daughters, siblings, and cousins fighting on the opposite sides of the people they love. Somethings got to get them through to reality that they are fighting for what will soon be a lost cause, as long as none of us screw up."
"You speak well of these people that are supposed to be the enemy."
"I held Willow in high regards and was fond of her both when I barely knew she was a person I'd be going to school with and she still saved my life, and also when I was working under Navy as a supposed spy."
"Damn, your smart."
"Hit 'em quick, get out fast," Dark whispered to himself like a mantra, clutching the gun in his hands tightly.
"The cities gonna be flying a lot of flags half mast." Chosen whisper-added.
"Raise a glass." They whispered together.
"There. The general." King pointed ahead.
Whom it was, they could not tell. They were too far away to make out.
Dark crept closer, having been silently nominated by the other two behind him to carry out the assassination, as he called it.
It felt like one. He, the enemy, going to shoot the other enemy, and it felt as is they would die as soon as the bullet hit skin.
"Well. Here goes nothin'." He said to himself, cocking the gun into place and aiming it.
With the rifles scope seeing for what would've been miles in a different circumstance than Dark was in, he could see the enemy more clearly.
Night Shade.
"Well, isn't this fucking perfect." Dark muttered under his breath, tightening his finger around the trigger, waiting for his friend's signal.
"Any day now, Cho."
"Hold on a second, and..." Night Shade was distracted. "FIRE!"
Without a hint of hesitation, Dark pulled the trigger, and the entire erupted into more chaos.
The moment of silence the gunshot brought felt like sweet release. All the shouting was giving him a headache.
"Okay, one enemy down, three majors to go," King said, barely realizing he'd referred to his dead-alive wife as an enemy. Not that it really mattered. "Let's go aide the others."
The trio jumped from the tree and ran through the crowd to get to the castle. Barely anyone paid mind to them.
There was a war to be won.
Sunny and Second's could've gone so much more worse than it did.
By the time they had gotten past their stupid nerves and finally gone through with the plan, Navy had already suspected a castle breach and had the quartet out of hiding and defeated in the center.
Both remaining teenagers froze as they realized they were screwed.
"Navy, you don't have to go through with this," Sunny said. "There's a crapton more people that you can get rid of outside."
"Oh, but your losses will be much more in vain. I am more than willing to end this war. I am just hoping I get something out of it."
"And that something would happen to our lives?!"
"Why, of course! Why have anything else when I can have the Prince of Minecraft at his lowest, on his knees in front of your dead bodies!"
"You sick, twisted bastard," Green spat. "You'd watch your son mourn the loss of his best friends and call the war off?!"
"I would."
"Your sick."
"Sick is such a strong word."
"And the right." King started, stepping into the room, Dark and Chosen hot on his heels.
Second turned back to Navy.
"This war cannot be stopped until you're defeated, Navy!" Second shouted. "So just give up now!"
"Oh, but why would I? It's a sacrifice I'm willing to take if it means losing my kingdom?"
"It's not a kingdom when you force them into submission and serve you on a goddamned silver platter!" Blue snapped.
"Oh, please. You say this like you didn't do the same thing."
The voice snaps them all back into the reality that they are in the midst of a crumbling kingdom that's doomed to collapse any second.
"Prince…"
"Purple!"
Both Green's and Navy's shouts fall on deaf ears. Purple remains still.
"You know, you two are both vaguely similar," Purple said, his voice menacingly soft. "Willing to sacrifice the people that you manipulated into serving you, even if it means you lose your own life. Willing to sacrifice your most trusted ally at the expense of the loss of all you've worked for."
"Purple, what are you talking about?" Second asked.
King and Navy stared at each other, as if they expected what was to come next.
"Me and your "father" are entirely different people!" King snapped. "Sure, we've both done vaguely similar actions, but if you would just listen-"
"NO!"
King backed down.
Purple stepped into view, a crown atop his head and a dark expression on his face. "Your going to listen to me. I'm done being walked all over like I was when I was treated as your slave, King Orange."
"But…"
Purple grasped the crown, smashing it into pieces. "I'm king of this kingdom now, Navy Rose."
Navy snarled. "You don't get to decide that, son."
Purple smirked. "Oh, but I do."
Spikes shot out of the ground, shooting towards Navy's throne.
"GET DOWN!" Second shouted.
Navy snarled. "STAY OUT OF THIS BATTLE, PURPLE!"
"Why would I? Your death is a sacrifice I'm willing to take, even if it means losing the kingdom. Sorry King Rose, but I'm king of this kingdom now. "
Navy snarled. "I swear, I will kill you if it means you quit this idiotic scheme you have, child."
"You should tell that to Agent Fernando." Purple said robotically.
"Purple, what's gotten into you?!" Green shouted.
"Fernando brainwashed him." Navy growled.
Green wasn't expecting an answer from Navy, but decided against a retort.
They had larger and more impactful problem on their hands.
Navy tackled the small boy, sending a glance towards the others. "I will leave you be just this once, but don't expect it to happen again. NOW GO!"
King, although hesitant, ran after the others, realizing cannon booms had filled the air.
If they didn't get out soon, the building would collapse with them all inside.
"Navy, you better get my fucking kid out." King said to himself.
The words all sank in as they all realized how bad off they were all going to be for a while.
"I'm king of this kingdom now."
The war had been over.
It had been for hours.
Maybe even days.
And she had no idea what to do next.
She had been walking for so long, she'd forgotten everything that was going on around her.
Where was she?
What was going on?
How was she still alive?
Had the army fallen?
Who had won?
Who had lost?
She did not know, but she wanted to.
She approached a clearing that lead to a forest, and her eyes widened in shock.
It was a beautiful forest of shards.
Her eyes caught her reflection in one of the shard pillars. A teenage girl that bared a resemblance to the prince-now-king. The one who had overthrown the old king and destroyed the entire kingdom.
His words echoed throughout the kingdom, with no signs of ever stopping.
"I'm king of this kingdom now."
She shook the thought off. She continued to walk aimlessly, before she caught onto voices.
"Come on!"
"Green, we've gotten miles away from the castle. Unless we're being tailed, we're fine."
"No! We need to go back! Purple's still there!"
"I hate saying this as much as we hate thinking about it, but someone's controlling Purple. We go back, and whoever's got Purple being used as a puppet will use him and fucking kill us!"
"King, you can just say that!"
"I don't want to, but it's true. I hate saying it as much as we hate thinking about it, but there's no way we're going to get Purple back without at least one death."
"He's overthrown the whole kingdom. If we thought Navy was bad, a brainwashed Purple can only mean something worse!"
"How?!"
"We've seen the damage people can do under the influence of brainwashing. We've all seen it, and if my memory is not mistaken, some of us have been through it. One wrong move, and nobody gets out of this realm alive."
The voices echoed around her.
"One wrong move, and nobody gets out of this kingdom alive."
She couldn't let that happen. She couldn't.
"Okay, Amethyst." She looked at her reflection in a shard pillar.
"Looks like you've got an agenda."
