Purple collapsed to the ground, exhausted.

"Holy shit."

"Purple!" King was at his side in seconds.

Chosen followed suit. "That was pretty cool!"

"Sure it was."

"As someone who watched you stop King with nothing but your elytra, and lived to see the end of it in some capacity, I'm actually impressed." Second said, joining the two of them.

"Lived? I was dead for a good portion of it. And I didn't destroy the staff. You did."

"Eh, well, you still got through to him, so I'd say we both did."

"Fair point."

"Now what? We've still got...maybe four more bad guys to defeat?" Green asked.

"How four?"

"Navy, Orchid, Amber, and...okay, nevermind, three. We just killed one."

"Gold and the others may have Orchid under control," King theorized. "I think Navy's powerless, and I'm not sure about Amber."

"Sunny might have taken care of her already."

"Then that just leaves Navy."

"So we've been cut down by a couple of villains. Good thing."

"One villain down, since Night Shade and Fern are dead, and Orchid and Amber probably got their own problems. Gives us a chance to defeat Navy and not have any major repercussions."

"Or distractions. The last thing we need is an amnesiac Purple who could be killed in less than ten seconds." Red said.

"Seeing as Navy probably got his powers sucked out of him, it's gonna be a hell of a lot harder for him to gain an upper hand."

"Okay, we head to the throne room and take Navy out, and meet the others outside the castle." Red was quick to come up with a plan.

King helped Purple to his feet, keeping a hand on his arm. "Right."

"Well, that's funny."

Purple froze. Everyone else blinked.

"What?!"

"Shit."

King threw Purple behind him, watching the surrounding area. Everyone else grabbed pieces of rubble, holding it out in front of them.

"Get out here, you fucking coward!" Green shouted.

A rope from the darkness.

"EVERYONE GET DOWN!" Purple shouted.

King ducked mere seconds later, grabbing Purple's hand to pull him down.

"King, wait!"

"WHAT?!"

King hadn't realized the rope was snagged around Purple's waist until he'd lost his grip.

"Fuck!"

Chosen and Second jumped forward, energy balls in hand. "PUT HIM DOWN!"

Navy smirked. "No."

Of course Navy fucking abandoned her.

What the hell was she thinking when teaming up with him to stop Amber was a good idea?!

Digging her knife into the monster's chest, Sunny glanced around for Amber, waving her knife up and down, wiping off the slimy substance she was dubbing as blood for the time being.

"Alright, son of a bitch, where the fuck did you go?" She muttered under her breath.

She couldn't have gone far. It hadn't taken Sunny that long to take out the tendrils trying to kill her, and even less time for Navy to get to wherever the hell he had gone.

"Hey! Amber! Where the fuck are you!" She shouting, clutching her knife tighter.

Voices erupted from a corridor ahead, and Sunny immediately recognized them.

Chosen and Second shouting at someone.

"PUT HIM DOWN!"

Sunny smirked. "Amber."

"Tread lightly, hollowheads," Navy smirked, holding the small child closer in a vice-like grip. "I can easily shoot this kid dead."

"No the fuck you aren't." Chosen snapped. The energy ball in his hand did not waver.

The gun Navy had been previously hiding was in full view now, pressed against the struggling child's head. "Tread. Lightly."

"Put. Him. Down." Chosen bit.

"Why?"

The energy ball still didn't waver. "Put him down. Now. Your going to regret it later."

"And besides, when did Purple learn the meaning of "die and stay dead"? What happened the last time you tried to kill him?"

Navy snarled.

The gun was pressed harder into Purple's head. "Fucking watch me."

"I'm serious! We all saw what happened the first time you used a very permanent method to kill Purple off?"

"And the time you decided to fake Purple's death?"

"And the time you attempted to hill us and failed miserably?"

King climbs over another pile of rubble and catches sight of Purple and Yellow.

Blue's about to call out to them, but Navy's faster, and swiftly ends up behind Purple in the blink of an eye, and stabs a blade through his chest.

King's entire world crumbles around him.

"PURPLE!"

Navy yanks the blade out of him and flies off. King doesn't care if anything else is happening, his entire brain has shifted to Purple.

This isn't happening this isn't happening this isn't happening.

He tries to tell his brain it's not happening, but the worst part about this is that it is happening.

His entire world is crumbling around him as he gets to Purple's side.

Purple is frozen, shaking slightly and staring down at the stab wound, swaying with the wind and internally fighting to stay awake.

Eventually, he lets his legs give out and falls to the ground.

"Hey, hey! Purple, hey, stay with me, kid. Stay with me...please..." King catches him before he hits the the ground, letting them both fall to the ground as he holds the barely conscious Purple in his arms.

"I...I can't. Your...your gonna have to stop him yourselves..." Purple's voice is weak.

"No...no, your gonna help us! It's gonna be fine, okay?! Your not gonna die! We're gonna stop Navy, and we'll be together again! Okay?!"

"I'm sorry..."

"Purple, please. Don't do this. Your all I have left...please..."

It's only then they all realize Purple is disintegrating.

"Purple. Purple! No, please! Don't do this! Don't do this, Purple! Stay with us, kid! Stay with us!" King's voice is desperate and broken.

Purple can barely manage the last three simple words he is able to speak. "I love you..."

He dissipates into nothing, leaving King frozen around a group of Stick figures, silent in grief and shock.

"Purple..." King breaks down into anguished sobs as the others couldn't believe what just happened.

Purple was dead.

Navy spawned in a blade, sending a wave of energy flying towards Purple.

Purple dodged it entirely, jumping up towards Navy and punching him square in the face.

Navy grabbed him by the throat and forced his head into the energy blast.

"PURPLE!" He heard King scream in terror.

Purple kicked Navy in the throat and was thrown directly in the beam, sliding back onto the ground in a glitchy mess.

That still didn't stop him.

He jumped back into the beam, trying desperately to get to Navy.

"JUST GIVE UP, SON! IT'S NEVER GOING TO WORK. YOU WILL NEVER DEFEAT ME!" Navy yelled in anger and frustration.

King was reminded of the Nether battle. Purple fighting the wave of energy. Him blasting the energy out of the staff. Purple being tossed away like a ragdoll.

King racing to save him.

What if that happened again?

"Purple! Hang on, kid! Just hang in there! You can do this!" He screamed, his mouth running faster than his brain as he screams phrases out to Purple. He knows Purple's trying his best, but he can't for much longer.

Over the sound of Navy's cackling, King heard the last sentence Purple ever says to him.

"I'm so sorry, King."

What?

"I love you."

King fights against the wave of tears threatening to fall, and almost snatches Yellow's staff to give Purple an advantage, but it's to late.

Purple reached Navy, and spawned one last blade before both ViraBlades collided in a dark purple explosion.

Everyone ducks for cover, meaning King never sees Purple fly towards them.

In fact, neither him nor Navy emerge from the explosion, and the area is engulfed in a large explosion.

King almost screams out for Purple, but knows he's gone.

The last words he ever hears Purple say were "I love you."

"I love you too, Purple. I'll always love you, no matter where you are."

Gold and the others really weren't expecting the others to show up, unless something unexpected and really bad happened.

But, King and the others did show up,and it didn't seem like they were doing great.

"Holy Alan, what happened?!" Scarlet asked.

"Night Shade happened." King deadpanned, taking Chosen from Blue and placing him on the ground. "Anything that can help him?"

"Probably not. If we're lucky, it's stopped spreading, but he really doesn't have much longer."

"Shit."

"We don't have a lot of time either. We need to find a way to help the others if we're gonna save Chosen."

"Then you guys are gonna have to get to the base, wherever the hell they are," Copper said. "We'll stay with Cho and the others, you guys just find a boat and get to Orchid's base before Night Shade gets to us first."

Blue was already running down to the shoreline with the others when King and Yellow regained their senses and followed them.

The coastline didn't look infected, but God knew how long that would last.

"Come on! We've gotta make a boat or something!" Green exclaimed.

"How?! We don't have enough blocks!" Blue shouted back.

"And the thunderstorm took a lot out of the staff, I doubt it's gonna do much." Yellow added.

"So we're screwed?" Red deadpanned.

"Essentially."

Green was cut off by a large energy blast from above, followed by numerous screams.

Nobody had to think twice about what that meant.

Night Shade had followed them.

"Fuck."

"Then how are we going to get across the ocean to the base to rescue Purple and the others?!" King asked.

A faint cackle came from above them. "Oh, that's an easy answer."

A blast of energy surrounded them, followed by a gust of cold air.

"You won't be able to."

The world around Yellow felt cold and stiff. After the energy blast, his entire body was covered in Grey spots that rapidly grew in size and spread across his body.

"Leave...my friends...alone." He gasped out, staring at the others suffering similar fates.

He could only think about how Gold and the other's final moments were.

"Oh, don't worry. Your friends are fine. Oh, and look on the bright side! You'll remaining alive friends will have a front row seat to your demise!"

Yellow could feel King's reaction. Purple would be forced to watch them all die.

Second and Dark would, too.

Their three remaining friends would have to watch the only people left in their lives die before them.

God knows how Purple would take that.

"Purple's lost his entire family..." King snapped with what remaining strength he had. "Don't make him watch the deaths of the only people he has left..."

"Oh, but then where's the fun in that?!" Night Shade smirked."

Yellow couldn't take anymore. He left the cold feeling wash over him before it all went black.

"I'm sorry we couldn't stop him, Purple."

Navy growled. "Those don't count!"

"Ya sure? Because this feels eerily similar!"

"Bullshit!"

The gun is pressed further into Purple's head. He continued to struggle.

"Let-let me go!"

"And why should I?"

King's fists clenched. "Put my son down."

"No."

Chosen growled. "Just put him down! He's a fucking child!"

"And this child is the only thing stopping me!"

"You deserve to be stopped!"

Navy's fingers gripped around the trigger.

King's heart dropped. "No...Please, no!"

Purple kept struggling. The look in King's eyes...no. It was much worse than dying.

"Now, now, my little prince," Navy said soothingly, but it dripped with mockery. "This will be relatively painless if you stop struggling."

"Go to hell. I'm not your little prince." Purple spat, attempting to kick Navy's leg out.

"I love you, my little flower."

"Oh, but your are."

Navy's voice dripped with so much sarcasm, Purple thought he would suffocate from it. "Put me down."

Navy flinched at Purple's unsually harsh tone. Sure, he'd use the snark and harsh tones before, but this was different.

Purple's voice was coating from top to bottom in pure venom.

"Final warning, father," Purple snapped, raising his foot again. His fingers dug into Navy's arm. "Put. Me. Down."

Navy smirked. "I love your final words, my dear boy."

King's heart dropped further. "NO!"

Navy didn't get a chance.

A yellow blur jumped from the rafters above and crashed into Navy and Purple. Purple scrambled away.

"Sunny!"

Chosen and Second jumped to attack Navy, giving King a chance to get to Purple.

"Purple, you okay?!"

"King, I'm fine," His eyes lit up for a moment. "I've got an idea. SUnny, keep Navy detained!"

"Purple..."

"King, please. I've got an idea."

"No, I can't lose you again!"

"King!"

King flinched under the harsh tone. His hands still cupping Purple's cheeks.

"Please...I don't want to lose you."

"I know. But you have to trust me on this. Please."

King's hands reluctantly moved to hold Purple's.

"I've got this, King. Just trust me."

King nodded. "Be careful...please."

"I will. I promise."

Sunny attempted tackling Navy for three reasons:

One, she knew Navy couldn't kill her.

Two, she knew Navy wouldn't kill Purple. Even if he did, Purple would come back and kill him.

Three, she had a knife. It wouldn't be that hard to overpower him.

At least, she hoped.

So, she tackled Navy, giving Purple a chance to scramble away and get to the others before running off(to where? Sunny wished she knew).

King and the others grabbed pieces of rubble, already moving to hold Navy down.

Someone grabbed King's arms before he got a chance, pulling him to the ground.

Sunny glanced up from where she was aiming her knife at Navy, and her heart sunk.

"Night Shade?!"

Chosen and Dark both flinched. "What?! How?!"

"Dark, didn't you shoot him?!" King shouted, wincing at the tight grip Night Shade had on his arms.

"I did! He collapsed! The fucker is supposed to be dead!" Dark shouted back.

Navy smirked. "Night Shade, bring them to the throne room," A glimmer in his eyes. Another idea. "Actually..." He reached for the gun, pistol-whipping Sunny and pulling her off of him. "I don't need you. I can do this myself."

King's heart dropped. Navy aimed the gun for Night Shade, who froze. King took his chance and ducked, right as the gun fired.

"King!"

King scrambled away, pulling the kids behind him, watching Navy hold the smoking gun, examining it closely. Night Shade's limp form vanished seconds later.

"Holy shit..."

"Oh my God...Sunny, you just saved Purple's life."

"Eh, could've saved himself if Navy had been a little more lenient."

"Fair argument."

Navy turned to the group, and King glared at him. Chosen pulled Second and Dark closer to him, Second clutching his arm. Sunny held her knife out from King's side, still partially behind him.

"Now, it's showtime."
