Death Of A True Hero - Old Gen
As Percy was about to show them the knife, it disappeared. He knew he was dead meat. There was no way he could get out of this one.
He hung his head in defeat as he was cuffed with celestial bronze chains.
His only evidence was gone. He knew who killed Chiron. How? The knife. How can the knife prove who it was. Simple. The knife's engravings were Wisdom's Voice.
Athena smiled a truly happy smile as her plan worked. She held her knife proudly in her hand. The first part of her plan, otherwise known as phase one, was completed. The second was the hard part.
Killing the demigod.
Yes he was binded, but Hera had said this demigod had a massive power. If the filth was able to hold his own, even be able to defeat Kronos, then killing him would be hard. Yes he was only mortal, but with his Curse of Achilles it would be hard to guess where the vulnerable spot would be.
She could kill his loved ones, or have them betray him. That was why she showed the fake video and killed the old centaur. The fact that the satyr had already got many new campers and some of Percy's friends to betray him was luck.
Her conspiring was cut short by a signal for a council meeting. Athena sighed, pausing her writing of notes. She made her notebook and pencil disappear into a secret drawer in her palace, waiting for her next ideas to eliminate the son of Poseidon. She flashed onto her throne, surprisingly she was the last one. 'I hope no one notices' she thought.
"Now," started Zeus smiling, "it has come to my attention that a certain son of Poseidon has been found guilty of killing the centaur at camp."
Poseidon looked shocked, "No there must be a mistake." Zeus smile became sinister at his daughter's next sentence.
"He is ruled a traitor of Olympus, he must die now." Athena stated smiling. 'Seems Phase two will be easier than I had expected.'
Poseidon sat on his throne lost in his own thoughts. There was no way his son could be a traitor. He couldn't image it. Ares smacked his uncle's arm achieving his uncle's attention. "Father is asking you a question."
Poseidon turned to look at Zeus who was smirking, angering Poseidon. "What is it brother?" Poseidon growled.
"Well, we were wondering if you would like to correct your mistake?" Zeus asked innocently. Poseidon's eyes widened in horror.
"No, I will not kill my own son!" Poseidon shouted standing up. "Nor will I let any of you."
Zeus hummed thoughtfully, "I was expecting that, that's why I had this planned."
Poseidon's eyebrows scrunched up in confusion before his muscles tensed feeling Ares next to him. Ares threw a large Celestial Bronze net over the sea god. Poseidon raised his arms towards the net, trying to prevent the net from landing on him.
He failed, badly. He hit the ground loudly as the large Celestial Bronze balls on the end of the net hugged the marble floor. Poseidon then tried to throw the net off of him. Ares chuckled at his uncle's attempts.
"That net is enchanted that even titans can't even escape, snatched it when metal head over there," Ares pointed his thumb over his shoulder at Hephaestus, "tried to catch me and his wife."
Hephaestus growled at Ares but remained seated. Zeus still had a smug grin covering his face while he watched the scene. "Now, who would like the honors of killing Perseus?" Zeus questioned. The Olympians that had voted for Percy to live scrunched their noses up in disgust and anger.
Athena immediately shot to her feet looking at a chance for her revenge. "Ah yes, Athena, it seems you look rather anxious for this opportunity."
"Yes father, I will not fail you if you allow me to destroy that sea spawn." Zeus nodded in acceptance of Athena's proposal.
"Go now Athena, it is the perfect time to kill him. It is past curfew so he must be asleep in the camp dungeons."
Athena nodded before flashing out, causing Poseidon to try harder to get out of his bonds. Zeus looked to Hera, "Would you be able to wipe Poseidon's memory of these events?" Zeus asked.
Poseidon thrashed even harder in the net Hera thought a little before answering, "No," This seemed to relax Poseidon slightly, "but I would be able to make him think he has another demigod son."
Poseidon's eyes widened, not wanting anyone to make him forget his son. Zeus nodded in satisfaction before considering an important factor.
"So do we just chose an unclaimed demigod as Poseidon's new son." Hera nodded at her husband's idea.
"Then proceed Hera." Zeus said gesturing his arm to the bonded sea god. Poseidon's eyes watered showing his defeat.
Hera walked over to Poseidon before doing exactly what she had done with Percy. She walked back to her throne as Ares took the net off Poseidon. Poseidon sat back in his throne emotionless. The Olympians that had voted for Percy to live growled at Zeus and Hera before flashing out.
The only sign of Poseidon's breakdown was the tear trail that ran down from his right eye to his chin.
Athena flashed into Percy's cell. The blinding light disturbing his sleep but not waking him. Athena waited for a total of exactly eight minutes. How did she know that it had been eight minutes? She counted the seconds.
She tiptoed over to the sleeping form of Percy before dropping to her knees as she made her notes and a flashlight into her hands. She turned the flashlight on, glancing up at Percy to see if he showed any signs of noticing.
When she knew he hadn't she flipped through her notes till she found the correct page named; Sea Spawn CoA Location Possibilities. She decided to stab him right under the left of his neck. Just as she was about to flash her notes away she dropped the flashlight. The light flashed right into Percy's eyes and hit the concrete floor loudly. Percy woke up cautiously, when his eyes laid upon Athena he got really angry.
Athena knowing that the only way to possibly survive would either be; One: Flash away, or, Two: Stall.
She varied the pros and cons of each suggestion before deciding to go with option two. Stall. "I am here to inform you of the council's vote to whether you live or not." Percy eyed Athena before sighing.
"What were the results?" Percy asked sadly. "It was unanimous, you are to die." Athena lied.
Percy turned his back to Athena as he sobbed silently. "Even my father?" Percy choked out. Although Percy couldn't see her he could tell Athena nodded. Percy resumed his sobbing as he buried his hands in his face. Athena took the knife out, this action going unnoticed by Percy.
Athena pretended to comfort Percy before slowly raising the knife to his neck. The last word he heard was; Revenge. As he heard that he felt a the pierce of his skin right under his neck.
As he had already lost his Curse of Achilles since Annabeth died, it didn't protect him from the fatal stab. He felt the knife sink halfway through his neck before it was ruthlessly ripped out. He choked on his own blood before dying on the spot. Athena smiled at the sight. But deep in the back of her mind she knew that what she did was selfish and wrong. She knew that Percy was a true hero.
And she knew;
It was murder, a death of a true hero.
