After Sheldon formally quit the Los Robles apartment to live full time with Amy he wanted to arrange a roommate agreement. Amy said that it was her house and all she wanted was half the household bills paying. They soon got used to living as roommates for real, they soon figured out how to give each other space. Amy was already using one spare bedroom as her scientific office, Sheldon soon set up his whiteboards and computer in the other spare bedroom. Amy knew that Sheldon missed having the Hofstadters as neighbours so Amy made sure they saw their friends every weekend. Eventually a Sunday lunch rota was set up with Penny/Leonard, Bernadette/Howard and Amy/Sheldon.

Three months after Sheldon became Amy's full time roommate, it was their turn to host their friends on Sunday. During Sunday lunch Howard announced
"I heard from Raj today, Amanda's doing a Ph.D thesis defence next month at UCLA, its going to be on a Friday so they are planning on coming for a visit that weekend."
Sheldon said "It will be good to see Raj and Amanda again, if it hadn't been for Raj I would never have met Amy."
Then Amy said "tell them they can stay here Howard, we have enough room."

"Raj and Amanda, welcome, do you remember my girlfriend Amy…"
