A/N: Chapter eight. Before we start, I just wanna say: thank you all for this story surpassing 500 views. It might not seem like a big milestone, but it's something and it means a lot, guys. Really. I appreciate your support and I don't think there's an accurate enough word in the English language to describe how grateful I am. So thank you. Anyway, onward!

After landing the Waverider near the entrance of an abandoned warehouse, Sara met with the rest of her teammates as Firestorm landed beside them.
"So this is where you tracked the signature to?" Ray asked.
"Yep," Sara replied. "Should be right inside."
"Great," Nata muttered sarcastically. "This should end well."
"Stay sharp," Sara commanded in a firm tone. "Eyes up and watch your six. Dominators could be anywhere in here."
Firestorm and Ray blasted the large, metal, entrance doors as the Legends steamrolled through. Sara, Firestorm, Ray, Mick, Amaya, and Nate walked through as they saw a certain gold-glowing object in the middle of the facility. The object was shaped perfectly like a sphere with dark-gray, metal, circle-shaped lines all over it and a glass cover. Inside, there were heaps of gold energy as it glowed brightly.
"What is that thing?" Mick asked gruffly.
"I don't know," Amaya replied. "But something tells me it wasn't here by accident."
Suddenly, the object began glowing brighter and brighter as it whirred with intensity. Everyone crouched and yelped backwards in response, turning their heads away with their arms in front of them in response to brightness intensifying. The object seemed ready to blow.
"Everyone down!" Sara yelled.
She was quickly cut off as the object went off in an explosion, sending an omni-directional wave of gold energy as all of the Legends were knocked out off their feet and sent flying. Unconsciously, they all landed on the ground as Firestorm split back into Jax and Stein. Around them, several Dominators emerged from the shadows while a Dominator dropship crashed through the ceiling.
"Seize them!" one of the Dominators ordered. "Retrieve their ship as well. Lord Brainiac will require them and many of the others if our plan is to work."
The dropship, using some sort of light-colored energy, summoned the unconscious bodies of the Legends inside. Meanwhile, the Dominators entered the Waverider, quickly taking control as both ships took the skies.

Kara, Arthur, and Diana simultaneously landed on a large, circle-shaped platform with a path directly to the entrance of the Dominator dropship in Paris as it flew directly above the battlefield. The trio walked towards the entrance with Arthur trailing Kara and Diana, who took the lead. Just as Diana and Kara walked through the entrance, a door slipped up from it, sealing the entrance off as it trapped the two of them inside the dropship while leaving Arthur outside. Diana and Kara saw him through a small section of transparent glass on the door.
"Arthur, look out!" Diana warned.
Arthur whirled around to see several Dominators behind him as he raised his trident. Before he could perform any sort of attack, one of the Dominators raised its arms and aimed its gauntlet at him as it fired an energy beam of yellow light. The blast struck Arthur as he was thrown off the dropship's platform, falling several thousand feet into the clouds and heading for the grounds of a war-torn, damaged battlefield. Diana and Kara watched in a rage as the dropship began levitating in the air, jerking them off their feet as they lost their balance. The dropship took to the skies as it began flying through, taking the two heroes to a location that was unknown to them.

"How many more left?" Cisco asked as Wally and Jesse sped back right next to him.
The trio stood in a sort of circle, standing back-to-back as the Dominators and gorillas surrounded them, slowly enclosing them in. They were trapped and stuck.
"Hey guys," Cisco announced, chuckling nervously. "If any of you have any secret but seriously ridiculous powers, now's the time to use them."
Before either Wally or Jesse could respond, a Dominator dropship hovered over the trio as they all looked up in a hint of confusion and surprise. Suddenly, a beam of yellowish-white light came from the ship as it struck Wally and Jesse simultaneously before absorbing them and taking them in. It was some sort of teleportation that had trapped them. Cisco didn't have time to react before a beam of light struck him as he too was taken with his friends.
EGYPT

LOCAL TIME: 1755 EST
"Why're we taking all this shit again?" Rene asked as he, Diggle, Oliver, and Batman came back to the tomb after just being at the Batplane.
"Those weapons are made of Nth metal," Batman explained. "It's also known as Ninth Metal. Atomic number 676. It originates from the planet Thanagar. A meteorite crashed here in Ancient Egypt several thousand years ago. Me, Hal, Diana, and Arthur suspected there would be some of the Nth metal here, but we never found it until now."
"And this is going to help us?" Oliver asked as they approached Thea and Hal, who stayed back to look for more Nth metal.
"Greatly," Batman assured. "Nth metal is the second most powerful substance and material of any kind in both the multiverse and the Dark Multiverse. It can overcome a great number of threats from the Dark Multiverse and it has a wide range of abilities: durability negation, power augmentation, and many more. Depending on how powerful the user themselves is, it can even achieve more capabilities."
Thea chuckled weakly. "Good thing we got this before the Dominators got to it."
"You said this was the second strongest material," Diggle relayed. "What's the first?"
"That would be the Tenth Metal," Hal replied. "More commonly known as Element X. It's the purest form of the very concept of creation itself and it can overcome absolutely anything from the Dark Multiverse. There are ten metals and Element X is the strongest one out of them all, it's the most powerful material to ever exist in the Multiverse and Dark Multiverse."
"We've never found it or had reason to believe in its existence," Batman further explained. "As far as we know, it's theoretical but it's out there somewhere."
"This shit gets more and more confusing and convoluted by the minute." Diggle muttered under his breath.
"Arrow," Batman called as he carried a chest of Nth metal shards and weaponry. "Give me a hand with this."
Oliver held one end of the chest while Batman held the other as they began heading towards the exit of the tomb. Suddenly, the ground began shaking with the power of a two-to-three magnitude earthquake as dust and sand fell from the ceiling, floating in the air. The tomb shook as if a massive creature's footsteps were shaking it.
"That can't be good." Hal muttered.
Suddenly, the ceiling of the tomb crashed open as a Dominator dropship hovered over it. In a beam of yellowish white light, the ship trapped and teleported Hal into it, taking him under capture.
"Everyone, take cover!" Batman ordered as he and Oliver dived away in opposite directions.
Rene attempted to run but the dropship targeted another beam of energy at him, striking him perfectly as he too was teleported to the ship. From his own corner in a shadow, Oliver notched a couple explosive arrows as he aimed quickly before firing. The arrows went off in a small explosion at the ship but neither seemed to have any effect. As the dropship targeted two more beams of light, taking Thea and Diggle, Batman aimed a sort of gun-shaped weapon as he fired a small piece of technology, which stuck to the lower hull of the dropship. The dropship retreated and flew for the skies.
"I've laced the ship with a tracker," Batman explained as he helped Oliver to his feet. "We can track it and follow them. To the Batplane. Now!"
The duo quickly made their way out of the tomb as Batman pressed a button on his utility belt, deactivating the invisible cloaking shield he'd activated on the Batplane. The two vigilantes got on as the back hangar door closed behind them. Batman took the main pilot seat up front while Oliver sat in the closest passenger seat right behind him. As the Batplane took off into the skies, going invisible with cloaking and following the dropship with stealth, Batman spoke into his comms with a private channel.
"Batman to Alfred," Batman announced. "Come in, we're tracking a dropship."
"I see it, Master Bruce," Alfred's voice radioed through their private comms channel. "I'm tracking the ship's movements and am calculating a predicted course based on its movements."
After a few moments of communicating with Alfred, Batman let out a hum as Oliver overheard it. He knew that sound. It was the sound of someone who was anticipating something chaotic was about to ensue. The sound of a man who was preparing for the worst of the worst.
"What is it?" Oliver asked.
"The ship appears to be towards Central City, which is where Brainiac's mothership is," Batman informed. "But that's not all. There appears to be three other dropships going in the same direction as well as the Waverider."
Oliver frowned. "How do you know where the Waverider's going?"
"Because I tagged it before we left for Canada," Batman revealed. "In case of a situation like this."
"The hell's happening?"
"I don't know, but whatever it is, it's taking place in Central City…and it's not gonna be very pretty."
Sara's eyes fluttered as she groaned, finding herself laying on a cold, metallic floor on her back. Her vision slowly unblurred as she stretched her legs out, her hand slowly rose to her head, feeling a headache. The first thing she saw was Mick staring down at her as he kneeled beside the canary.
"Morning, sleeping beauty." Mick announced gruffly.
Sara slowly got up as she sat up against a wall. "How long have I been out?"
"Don't know," Nate replied as Mick offered her a hand up. "Mick here woke up first and he's only been up for a couple minutes."
"Where the hell are we?" Sara demanded as she stood up on her feet. "Where's the waverider?"
"No clue," Ray informed. "I tried tracking with my suit but I'm not getting much of a signal beyond these walls."
"We appear to be in one of the Dominator's ships." Stein acknowledged as he and Jax appeared to have been split from their Firestorm state.
"Where are the Dominators taking us?" Sara asked.
"That's the thing," Amaya said as she pointed to an empty cockpit in front of them. "This thing's on some sort of autopilot and we don't know what its course is."
"Don't suppose we could just bust the hell out of here." Mick muttered in frustration.
"Even if we could," Jax replied. "We're probably several thousand feet in the air and not all of us can exactly fly."
Sara sighed. "Alright, we just stick together. Jax, Stein, merge as soon as this thing stops moving or reaches wherever the hell it's taking us."
"Another thing, Sara," Stein said as he and Jax exchanged a hesitant glance. "There's something Jefferson and I feel the rest of you all need to know."
Sara and the other Legends frowned in confusion.
"What is it?" Sara asked.
"A while before we met up with the others," Jax began. "We found a message on the Waverider. It was from Oliver Queen in the year 2040…"
"Still nothing." Kara sighed in frustration as her eyes toned down blue energy from the several minutes she spent trying to heat vision her way out of the wall.
"Let me try something." Diana suggested as she stood in front of Kara and held her arms upward in the form of a X.
Diana clashed her two metallic arm gauntlets together, resulting in a sonic-like wave that emerged from them in an omnidirectional blast. The wave quickly rebounded off the metal wall and door as it struck Diana and Kara, blasting them off their feet. The pair flew several feet in the air before crashing on the ground, trading groans of pain.
"Well that was fantastic." Kara muttered sarcastically.
"Shut up." Diana groaned.
The ship then shook lightly for a split second as metallic whirring and locking sounds echoed from beyond the walls while Diana and Kara got themselves back up onto their feet. The door in front of them, which they had failed to break through with their powers and skills, slid open as it revealed a fairly wide and long hallway coated in black with small white lights around. The hallway's interior clearly appeared to be that of some Dominator ship. Where it led, however, was a clear mystery.
"This has to be some sort of a trap." Diana warned.
"Yeah," Kara sighed. "We're still going in there though, aren't we?"
"We don't exactly have another choice." Diana replied as she and Kara walked past the door and carefully ventured into the halls.
"Where's this thing taking us?" Wally asked as he, Cisco, and Jesse looked around to find themselves in a Dominator dropship.
"I don't know," Cisco replied as he gestured over to an empty cockpit-styled room. "But this thing's on autopilot, so it's got a set course."
Suddenly, the ship seemed to shake for a bit as metallic whirring noises echoed from outside of it. Then, it was followed by sounds of metallic clanging and locking, as if to imply that the ship had docked onto a station. Similar to a space shuttle latching onto the International Space Station.
"Whatever that course is," Jesse said wearily. "Something tells me that we're here already."
"You alright, pal?" Hal asked as he lended Rene a hand.
Groaning, Rene clapped his hand against Hal's as he got onto his feet. "I'll live. That's good enough."
"There's no pilot." Diggle noted as he, Thea, Rene, and Hal looked over to an empty cockpit in front of them.
"Guess having autopilot for flying vehicles is universal." Thea wearily quipped, tightening her grip on her bow.
"Why would a Dominator dropship scoop us up from Egypt?" Diggle asked. "And what happened with Batman and Oliver?"
"In that order," Hal drawled. "I don't know and I don't know."
"Who even is Batman?" Thea asked curiously. "I mean, he's kind of like the only guy who's unknown behind the mask."
Hal chuckled. "You guys wouldn't believe me if I told you."
"We're dealing with literal aliens right now," Rene deadpanned. "I don't really think the secret identity of Batman would be more shocking."
"Not my secret to tell." Hal replied.
Before anyone could further continue their conversation, the Dominator dropship shook briefly as sounds that matched a spaceship docking were heard from outside the ship's metallic walls. Opposite to the empty cockpit of the dropship, a metal door slid open as it revealed an eerie, black hallway with small white lights spread throughout. The interior had everyone convinced there that they were in some sort of Dominator ship or base.
"Wherever this thing took us," Rene drawled. "It looks like we're here."
"Eyes up," Hal ordered as he prepared his ring while Rene, Diggle, and Thea readied and aimed their weapons; the four of them entered the corridor as they made their way through. "Watch your six…and stay sharp."
"So let me get this straight," Sara said, gesturing with her hands as she tried to understand what Jax and Stein had explained to the team for the last few minutes. "You guys found a message from Oliver Queen in the year 2040 and it said what again?"
Jax sighed as he repeated what he remembered of the message. "It said that when we came back from the temporal zone, we would be in a new timeline. A new reality…that Barry created. It also said not to trust anyone, specifically not Barry."
"Wait, so we're in a new timeline right now…" Ray repeated. "That Barry created."
"And future Oliver said don't trust him?" Nate clarified.
"That's what the message said." Stein confirmed.
Sara sighed. "That doesn't make sense. Why didn't you guys tell us this earlier?"
"Jefferson and I were hoping to speak with Mr. Allen in private about it first," Stein explained. "We were hoping he would understand or know what it meant. Or even why Mr. Queen's future self would send such a message."
"Did he?" Mick asked in regards to Barry.
"We don't know," Jax shrugged. "We didn't get to ask him before we left."
"But whatever this message is about, this…Barry Allen knows?" Amaya asked.
Jax nodded. "According to future Oliver Queen, we're in a timeline that Barry created. How or why? We don't know."
"He also said not to trust him." Ray added. "But why?"
"Don't know," Sara said wearily. "But as soon as we get out of this, we need to talk to Barry. Figure out whatever it is he's done and why we're in this timeline because of him."
Suddenly, the Dominator dropship that the Legends were in appeared to dock onto something larger. The dropship shook steadily for a slight moment before a door slid up open, inviting them to cross over into an alien-designed corridor of some larger ship.
"Firestorm, merge," Sara ordered as she occupied both of her hands with batons. "Everyone, stay sharp."
Jax and Stein clapped hands as their bodies merged into their Firestorm form in a bath of fire. The rest of the Legends prepared their weapons, gear, and abilities as they followed Sara into the corridor. All of them had the same question in mind: where were they?
Hal, Rene, Diggle, and Thea appeared to reach the end of the hallway as they found themselves in a massive room that appeared to be larger than the Arrowcave. At the center of the room, there was a throne-like chair over ten feet in the air, supported by some sort of anti-gravitational technology. At the very back of the room, there appeared to be numerous computers and supercomputers, powered with advanced alien technology and holographic keyboards. At the front of the room, there was a massive wall of transparent, one-way glass where a view of Central City's destruction and chaos could be seen below.
"We're in Central City," Hal realized as he stood before the glass, looking down at the city. "But why? And what are we doing on this ship?"
"Hal?" Diana's voice echoed as she and Kara appeared from another one of the total four entrances there were to the room.
"Diana," Hal acknowledged, relief washing over him. "The hell are you two doing here? Where's Arthur?"
"We were captured," Diana replied grimly. "As for Arthur, we were separated. No status or communication with anyone else. We tried comms. Nothing."
"Same here." Hal said wearily.
Thea sighed. "We were separated from Ollie and Batman when we were brought here."
"What about the rest of you?" Kara asked, noticing that Evelyn, Rory, and Curtis were also missing from their group.
"They didn't make it." Diggle announced, looking down in regret.
"My condolences for your losses," Diana declared. "Right now, we must figure out why we are here and how to get the hell out."
"Amen to that." Rene agreed, cocking his gun.
"Guys!" Cisco Ramon yelled as he, Wally, and Jesse came through the third entrance, joining the others.
"What're you doing here?" Wally asked.
"Same as you from the looks of it," Hal replied. "Lemme guess. Dominator dropship beamed you up here."
"Yeah," Jesse sighed. "Some serious E.T. bullshit."
"They're hunting us," Diana noted. "But why? And how many did they take?"
"More than enough," Sara Lance replied as she and the Legends came from the fourth and final entrance to the room before noticing Cisco, Jesse, and Wally. "Is Barry with you guys?"
"He came back to Central City," Cisco informed. "But we split up to fend off Grodd and the Dominators."
"Why do you ask?" Kara wondered.
Sara cleared her throat grimly. "When this is over, we all need to have a serious talk with him."
Suddenly, the four entrances from which the heroes had come from began glowing before they closed shut. The walls around them moved in some slimy, gooey way like a symbiotic parasite as they covered them completely. The entrances disappeared. As if they were never there in the first place. All that remained from them now was a smooth, blank-colored wall.
"That's some serious Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire shit." Cisco commented, letting out a nervous chuckle.
"For the ten millionth time," Thea muttered. "Why are we here?"
"I brought you here…" an alien, half-humanoid, half-cybernetic voice echoed in the room.
From the shadows above, with several metallic tentacles emerging from his back, and a silver, metal suit with lines of purple light, Brainiac descended slowly as he towered twenty feet over the heroes, looking down at them. Two of his eight tentacles kept him in the air before lowering him to his feet as he sat on his throne, which levitated twenty feet above the ground as he looked down at the heroes.
"Kara Zor-El, Diana Prince," Brainiac announced. "Cisco Ramon, Wallace West, Jesse Wells, Hal Jordan, Jonathan Diggle, Thea Queen, Rene Ramirez, Sara Lance, Mick Rory, Nathaniel Heywood, Amaya Jiwe, Ray Palmer, Jefferson Jackson, Martin Stein."
"You know us?" Sara demanded.
"I know all of your names," Brainiac revealed. "Your identities, your lives, how became the heroes you are known as today and will be known as in the future. Or rather…what you would've been known as in the future."
"You plan on killing us?" Cisco spat. "Why bother bringing us all the way here?"
"Fret not, Cisco," Brainiac simply said, his finger tapping on the end of the armrest to his throne. "I have much more…interesting and demanding plans for all of you than death. For now at least. Why eliminate all of you when you can serve me?"
"What makes you think we'd do anything for you?" Mick demanded gruffly.
Brainiac let out a small chuckle of amusement. "Forgive me, but I should've been clearer…I wasn't asking for-"
Immediately, without waiting any further, the heroes readied their powers and weapons as they raised them upward, aiming at Brainiac before quickly firing. Hal and Kara sent beams of green and blue energy, Diana clashed her bracelets together and aimed a sonic wave in the same direction, Firestorm and Mick sent two parallel beams of fire, Rene and Diggle fired their guns as numerous bullets headed at Brainiac's direction, Thea fired arrow after arrow, sending an explosive arrow every other shot. Cisco sent two parallel beams of vibe blasts with both his hands, Ray emitted multiple blue-colored light beams of energy, Wally and Jesse ran around in circles and threw as many bolts of speed force lightning at Brainiac.
The numerous blasts of energy, lightning, bullets, and arrows went on for almost an entire sixty seconds before the heroes calmed down. They lowered their weapons and calmed their abilities while Wally and Jesse skidded to a halt beside Cisco.
"Is he down?" Sara asked.
"I can't see anything." Rene complained as smoke circled and covered the throne chair that Brainiac had been sitting on.
For a few seconds, the heroes waited in an eerie and still silence. The smoke spread but began thinning as it was slowly becoming easier and easier to see through. Suddenly, in the blink of an eye, faster than anyone could anticipate, a blur of gray and green, lined with purple, descended from the throne before striking the ground. Upon impact, the blur emitted an omni-directional, increasing dome of purple energy as the heroes were struck instantly. They were sent flying through the air, knocked off their feet before being thrown across the room in different directions, separated by the blast.
The allies groaned as the smoke finally cleared while they looked up to find Brainiac at the center of the room, revealing him to be the source of the blast as well as the thing that had moved with such immense speed, power, and ferocity. Brainiac was on one knee as he looked down, his fists clenched, his eight metallic tentacles behind him, and his gray suit powered with even more purple light around it. As if it had absorbed the kinetic energy from the allies' attacks.
"It is polite to let one finish a well-prepared speech," Brainiac taunted as he rose to his feet coldly. "You stopped me once when you sent the fool Barry Allen here and when he escaped while taking something of mine…" His voice then grew deeper and louder as it boomed in the entire room. "...but you will not stop me again! I've studied Barry Allen's speed and powers, matched my suit to counter, and now, thanks to your foolishness…I have the data I need to counter all of you."
"Let's take him!" Diana declared.
Using his metallic tentacles, Brainiac quickly seized Mick, Thea, Rene, Diggle, Sara, Nate, Amaya, and Cisco before crashing all of them against the wall multiple times and dropping them. The eight of them, dazed from the attack, groaned in pain. The rest of the heroes attempted to off-guard Brainiac as they jumped at him. With his tentacles, Brainiac leapt into the air, avoiding their attempt to seize, as he flipped before aiming his arm at Firestorm. He emitted a small blast of purple energy as it struck Firestorm, splitting Jax and Stein from their connection as the two rolled on the ground in opposite directions groaning in pain.
Kara immediately rushed Brainiac from behind as she held him in a chokehold, Hal, using his ring, created a construct that trapped Brainiac's limbs. Diana and Ray grabbed one of Brainiac's arms while Wally and Jesse grabbed the other. Brainiac roared as his tentacles sprawled out of Kara's grip, one of them wrapping around her neck before waving her around like a plaything. He then used her body as a sort of weapon, knocking Ray, Hal, Diana, Wally, and Jesse off him before holding Kara in the air, his hand at her throat.
"It has been so long since I've had the chance to study and utilize a kryptonian," Brainiac calmly said as Kara gasped for air, unable to overpower him. "Thank you, Kara Zor-El, for giving me such an opportunity."
With his other hand clenched into a fist, Brainiac struck Kara directly at the center of her torso as a small wave of wind blasted through the room, sending Kara to the other side. The kryptonian dropped onto the ground, coughing, as she struggled to get up.
From his throne, a hand-sized, diamond-shaped device glowed with red energy as it rose from the armrest of Brainiac's chair. It sent a wave of red energy as all the heroes groaned in pain, hearing an outrageously painful noise in their mind as their foreheads glowed with red energy.
"Somebody do something!" Mick roared, clutching his head in pain.
"There is nothing any of you can do," Brainiac calmly smiled as he sat on his chair. "Be still and do not resist. Project Knightfall is almost at hand…and this world will know what it feels like when hell freezes over."
A/N: Just to clarify, the message that Jax and Stein talked about in this chapter is the same message that future Barry Allen left the Legends in the canon Invasion crossover. As you can tell, in this story/series, it was Oliver who left the message. I did this for plot reasons, which will become clear later in the series. Maybe around the third or fourth book. The second book is going to be MCU/Marvel-focused.
Not particularly that proud of this chapter. Sorry if the fight scenes weren't as good as they could've been. I originally planned to do a lot more but by the time I got the captured heroes meeting Brainiac, there was already a lot more than I anticipated.
It should be pretty obvious what's happening to the captured heroes and what will happen next if you've watched and/or remember the canon Invasion crossover. As for what Brainiac's "Project Knightfall" is, that should be covered in the next chapter or the one after.
If you enjoyed this chapter and/or are liking this story, let me know in the reviews. I appreciate feedback. Until the next chapter, ladies and gentlemen!
