Chapter 26
Mina had kept training after her victory over Ivy Nile. Wrestling helped her calm down and forget about Finn for some time. He had become more and more pushy with her, she was not recognizing him anymore. Where was the teddy-bear Finn she had met? How could she make him understand that his feeling were wrong? She had slept with him in order to calm down the fire he was lighting within her. But now he was claiming she was his and insisted on kissing her during the shows to prove everyone that they were lovers. She hated that idea. She had always been discreet concerning her relationships, especially in front of other people. In front of a crowd, that situation was even more embarrassing. She would often hide in the workshop to escape Finn, or the monster he had become. She had become a pro at hiding behind fabrics or under furnitures. Rose and JD often helping her by misleading Finn or trying to explain to him how twisted he was. One day, she heard a conversation between the two Irish men.
- "Hey JD, have you seen Mina? I can't find her?"
- "Sorry lad, haven't seen her the entire afternoon." JD answered.
- "Ha, she is playing hard to get, but I'm sure I will find her in my hotel room" Finn said with a huge smile.
- "Lad, are you for real? Don't you think that what you are doing is unhealthy?" JD tried. "Look at you, you are acting like a freaking perv."
- "How is being in love perv? D'you know what I think? I think you are jealous because you couldn't have her! You tried and she said no and know you are trying to ruin my relationship out of jealousy" Finn yelled, ready to punch his friend.
- "At least I was honest with her, and accepted her refusal." JD smirked. "You are the one being jealous here, I don't know why, but you made Mina the mix of all the heartbreaks you had. Do you even see her for what she is? She is not Liv or any others" he said on a challenging tone. Finn grabbed him by the throat and started to strangle him.
- "You're just a jealous scumbag! You want her for you alone but I won't let you! She is mine!" He shouted.
Mina wanted to interfere but Rose was faster. She stood between the two men and screamed loud enough for security to hear, making Finn release JD.
- "Enough!" she yelled before taking her usual faint voice. "Please, listen to yourself, you are not even talking about loving her but possessing her. How is that love? Look at you, you could have killed your friend because of jealousy. Please, stop being delusional" she paused before putting her hands on Finn's. "I saw good people becoming monsters because of jealousy, I won't let that happen to my boss."
Finn retrieved his hand from Rose's and went away grumbling and swearing. Mina joined them once sure Finn couldn't hear her.
- "JD, are you okay?" she asked. He nodded. "I'm so sorry, everything is my fault."
- "Shhh Sweety, he is responsible for his actions, not you. One day he will need to open his eyes or his anger will destroy everything he has." He said while getting up. "Thank you Rose, I appreciate the help, but don't put yourself in danger, alright?" He winked at the ginger seamstress who immediately blushed heavily and disappeared in the workshop.
Later that evening, a segment was shot in the Judgment Day's club house. It was about Finn and Damian arguing about the title. Mina was not there, occupied to create new gears, but was following the segment on the screen. She had a bad feeling about this story and Rose was sitting close to her.
In the club house, Finn was smirking at Damian, visibly taken aback by the violence of the quarrel. He liked when he was overpowering the Puerto Rican champion.
- "Come on, Lad, you know I need to bring this title to my lady. She needs a real man and a real champion." he taunted.
- "What are you implying, man? Don't bring her into this! She is not your lady." Damian fought back.
- "Do you think so? I remember clearly making her mine" Finn said with a devilish smile. He knew he had hit Damian's weak spot. His widened eyes giving him confirmation.
- "She is not an object" Damian said with a trembling voice.
- "Ooow don't play silly with me, Lad. You know what I mean." Damian didn't answer. "I fucked her hard and good. On her couch. As she asked. It was so damned good" he smirked once more. "The Witch is mine now, so be a good boy and give me the title."
They were interrupted by JD, Dominik and Rhea separating them. The camera went off and they all stayed like this, shocked by Finn's words. Finn was happy with this argument, he had just made Damian vulnerable and he loved it, he was sure to have a title match soon and maybe then, Mina would tell him she loved him.
Later that night, Damian climbed in the ring to fight against Drew. It was not for his title, not yet. He knew Drew was a strong opponent but couldn't get his mind off what Finn had told him, this information being like an arrow constantly piercing his heart, making him unable to focus. After five minutes of grappling and exchanging hits, Drew threw him down on the mat and grabbed a microphone.
- "Is that all you have, champion? Is that what it takes to defeat you? Just a little heartbreak?"
Damian fell on his knees and tried to hold back his tears. He hadn't slept well for a long time now, he was exhausted, until now he had managed to keep up with the job but today was the last wound; the one that would put him on his knees. "Mina… My love, I can't do this anymore."
- "It's not even interesting to fight a heartbroken trash" Drew spat, getting ready for his Claymore with a disgusted face. "Mina."
The kick hit Damian in the face, making him fall on the floor, he didn't react. "Mina." Actually he didn't felt it, his mind absent from what was happening. He didn't hear the announce saying Drew was the winner, nor felt Rhea and Dom carrying him to the locker room. "Mina." Tears just ran down his cheeks. Rhea tried to step between her friend and the camera that was focusing on his dull face, covered with bruises and tears. "Mina." The public let out a shocked scream seeing the champion crying over a heartbreak. Hunter came later to make his announcement: the match between Finn and Damian would take place next week, the Witch being allowed in the ring. The Puerto Rican champion didn't hear any of this. "Mina, forgive me, I love you." was the only thing his mind could articulate without being shot with images of Finn above her. "I would never have treated you like that; one more time, I made you suffer because of my decisions."
Mina was training hard in the gym. After Finn's announcement, she had left her workshop to find him and slap him across the face before yelling at him for saying out loud that they had sex together and that she was the one who asked for it. Finn had tried to kiss her to calm her down but it didn't work, she resisted. She was hitting the sand bag again and again. Feeling guilty for surrendering to her carnal instincts and accepting being fucked by Finn. The guy was not that bad, but hard sex was his thing this night and she didn't enjoy the fuck as much as she thought she would. Knowing that his feelings were not real had broken something in the bond she was sharing with him. An image of Damian came back in her mind, he was so gentle with her in bed, never forcing her to anything, never insisting, letting her take the lead on their very first night. Damian was clumsy with his feelings, but tried his best to be good to her, he didn't deserve the suffering he got from Finn's announce.
She hit the sand bag again and again to get her mind out of this madness. Her hands were hurting but less than her anger towards Finn. She had hoped telling him she just wanted his body would help his realise how twisted his feelings were. How did he end up like this? And what to think about Damian? Mina was sure he kissed Liv because he had something like feelings or attraction for her, but his reactions and the way he kept looking at her were proving her wrong. Seeing him cry had somehow awakened something in her, but what?
- "Hey, don't break this poor bag in two with your fists, girl" said Becky's voice.
- "Sorry, I just needed to let that out" Mina apologized.
- "Yeah, I heard Finn became insane. I think he doesn't make the difference between you and what he sees in you." Becky said, putting a hand on her shoulder.
- "I know, but I can't make him understand it, I don't know what to do" the seamstress said, resting her head on Becky's shoulder. "He won't listen to me."
- "But he could listen to someone else" the wrestler said. "Stop trying to handle everything on your own. We are also your friends."
Mina started crying in her arms.
- "For some reason, he seams to listen to Rose, maybe she can try to change his mind?" Becky tried.
- "She is way too shy, what if he hurts her?" Mina asked.
- "When you were not there because of your injury, she handled everything just fine. She was forced to deal with everything and guess who asked her out and ended up hit with a broomstick for being too stubborn?" the wrestler said with a chuckle.
- "She did that? She chased away someone with a broomstick?" Mina asked, surprised.
- "Yup, poor Ludwig had been mocked by the entire locker room" Becky said.
The next day, Dom knocked at the workshop's door, nervous, bouncing from one feet to another. When he entered the room, his anxiety almost sucked up all the air.
- "What are you so stressed about, Dom?" Mina asked
- "I want to propose Mami tonight after the show" he said.
- "Great news! Congratulations!" she cheered up.
- "And what if she said no? What if she never wants to see me again? What if she hates me after that? What if she mocks me?" he started to panic.
Mina laughed lightly at his visible stress. The young Mexican was trampling from one foot to the other, his forehead studded with droplets of sweat.
- "Don't laugh please, I need your help right now" he pouted.
- "Honestly Dom, are you sure I'm the best person to ask for love advice?" she teasingly asked.
- "I can't ask the guys, JD is not the romantic type, Finn has become nuts and Damian… well he is too depressed to care. You are the only one I can ask. I don't know what to do" he pleaded.
Seeing his imploring eyes she sighed heavily and made him sit down.
- "Listen, when you asked her out, were you scared?" she asked?
- "Yeah, I was shaking" he answered
- "You asked her out anyway right? You showed some courage, yeah?"
- "I did, but this is different, right now it's about tying our lives together forever." He explained.
- "Okay Dom" she said with a soft voice. "Trust her and her feelings, she didn't chose you out of the blue. She had feelings for you. She isn't still with you today just for the fun of it, she truly, deeply loves you. The best you can do is just making this proposal the best you can for her to remember."
Dom seemed to gain confidence again, he stopped playing with the red velvet box he had in his pocket. He took a deep breath before hugging Mina and saying thank you.
- "You know, my advice are not gold, I'm in a shitty love situation right now, but you and Rhea share a bond so strong I'm sure nothing would be able to break it." Mina said before letting Dom leave the workshop.
- "Seriously, listen to me, giving wedding advice when I'm unable to have a normal relationship" she said to Rose, who didn't answer. She was also in a tricky mindset with all this situation.
The show ended and all the wrestlers were getting ready to go back to the hotel. Dominik was early. He was waiting for Rhea at the door. He was wearing an elegant suit and had rented a luxury car. When she came out, primed as he had asked her to be, he opened the door for her and sat behind the wheel. He drove her to a fancy restaurant, where they had a lovely dinner and then drove again to a high park, with a nice view on the sky. He was so nervous he had a hard time to lead her to the exact place he wanted her to be. Fireworks enlightened the night with a variety of colours and shapes, mesmerizing Rhea who hugged Dom tight and smiled widely. During a pause with smaller fireworks, Dom let go of her and kneeled, opening the velvet box containing the engagement ring. Rhea wiped away a tear in her eye before saying yes. The lovers kissed passionately as the fireworks exploded again in the sky. Screams of excitement brought them back to reality as their friends from the Judgment Day were running to them to congratulate them and show them the pictures they had taken.
The big match between Finn and Damian was five days away. It felt both a very short amount of time and a forever wait. Damian was warming up absent-mindedly, his face still bruised by the hits Drew gave him and his mind still tormenting him over Mina. If Finn was telling the truth, she had certainly not enjoyed their night together, the Mina he knew wasn't drawn to violent sex, she had suffered enough and was enjoying soft and sweet lovemaking. He wasn't mad at Mina for sleeping with Finn, she was single, she had the right to do whatever she wanted with her body. He was mad at Finn for taking advantage of the situation to make her feel endangered. He had seen her hiding in her workshop to avoid the Irish man. He had accepted their relationship thinking that Finn would take good care of her, obviously he was wrong. He needed to help the woman he loved. He was surprised when Dom stood in front of him.
- "We need to talk" He said with a serious gaze.
- "About what?" he asked.
- "Mina helped me with Mami, it's my turn to help her." Dom explained, helping his friend to get up and guiding him far from curious ears.
- "Finn is crazy, she is not happy with him." He said
- "Thank you for the reminder Dom" Damian said, getting angry.
- "She would be happier with you, I am sure she still loves you, otherwise she would be head to toe in love with Finn. All you need to do is winning her heart again." Dom tried.
- "How do I do that?" Damian asked.
- "Show her! What was your favourite activity together? Your favourite place? Make her feel safe again, we will take care of Finn. He tries to seduce her, do the same and let her choose. She deserves that." Dom said before leaving Damian with his thoughts.
Damian went back to the training room, hoping to find an idea, their favourite activity? "Singing together." Where was she feeling safe? "In my arms, when I was stroking her hair." He sighed heavily, his safe place, where he would feel like the happiest man alive, was in her arms.
