Goodneighbor
Izuku, Nate and Nick are currently walking towards the front door of the settlement of Goodneighbor. Izuku wearing an armored Vault 13 Jumpsuit opens the front door and walks with Nate to the shop right in front.
"Welcome to... Oh well Hello! Welcome to Kill or Be killed Mr legend. How can a humble lady like myself help you?" K.L.E.0 Says as Izuku smirks at the assaultron.
"I just need anything with ballistic fiber, a few ceramic plates and permission to use your workbench beautiful." Izuku says flirting with the robot who seems to heat up a bit before cooling down.
"Right away handsome. And how can I...Nate? Is that you? How are you still alive?" Kle0 asks as Nate looks at her a bit confused before it clicks in his head seeing the registry number.
"Oh my goodness Kilo? You're still operational? I thought the brass sent you to be repurposed! Also I was in vault 111 it was a cryo vault!" Nate says as it seems he and the robot have history.
"It's Kle0 now and I was repurposed. I've always been female but they sent me to the warehouse where I was modified to better fit my...unique skill set and programming. They gave me the Servi-tron upgrades so I'm all Woman baby! Couldn't you tell? Or is my chassis blocking your view to my chest?" Kle0 says as Nate nervously chuckles.
"Still as flirtatious as ever. You know I'm ...I was... married." Nate says as Kleo tilts her head questioningly.
"Was? Shouldn't she be here with you if you're here?" Kle0 asks as Izuku answers first as Nate seems to just be lost in though.
"Nora she...was murdered. Someone broke into the cryo vault Nate and she were in, killed her and took his kid. We're on a journey to find them." Izuku says as Nate just pats Izuku's shoulder in thanks for speaking for him when he couldn't. As much as it hurts Nate to talk about knowing he has friends like Izuku and Nick help him feel a lot better.
"Oh, well my condolences to the Mrs. Nate. You know I kid around a lot but I know you were faithful. I'm here for you if you need me for anything Nate. Even if it's just to feel loved for one night." Kle0 says as Nate smiles.
"Thanks Kle0 that means the world to me. I'll take you up on that offer...just not right now I have a few things to do. Maybe soon okay?" Nate says as Kle0 nods as she gets Izuku's supplies and keeps talking with Nate. Izuku walks to the work bench with Nick as Izuku had Nick help him out by holding a battered NCR ranger Veteran outfit. Izuku pulling out his damaged Desert Ranger gear and begins repairing the armor.
"So...you really are a manic inventor. I knew some stories about you were hyperbole but seeing you work with your hands is fascinating. Wait what are doing with that strange suit?" Nick asks as Izuku smiles holding the Chinese stealth suit he stole from Hoover Dam.
"I'm going to gut the Chinese stealth suits stealth functionality and apply it to my desert ranger gear. The ballistic fiber Kle0 has is actually carbon graphene mesh weave and when an electric current is run through it at the right amount it generates a stealth field by bending light around it. Since the Chinese stealth suit isn't made with that it required a special radiatioactive power source which when used most of the time KILLED the Chinese inside the suits or at the very least gave them what is essentially super cancer."izuku says shocking Nick as Izuku smiles.
"I call it herpigonacyphilaids. But by gutting the power source and reactive mesh cells from the Chinese stealth suit I can mesh them with the graphene and ballistic fibers making it so that the functionality is the same. Presto chango whenever I want it to I can go invisible as though I used a stealthboy." Izuku says as if it's the simplist thing in the world and shows it is the simplist for him by doing it as he says it and repairing his desert ranger gear.
As Izuku had Nick help him out Nick is slowly finding that Izuku isn't some real menace or maniac. Just a man trying to do his job. Something that makes Nick smile. Seems the Boogeyman of the wastes is more than what others say. After a few hours of working Izuku and Nick walkout of the back room and see Nate and Kle0 laughing hearing the end of the conversation.
"And so he says "so Servi-tron huh? How about you give me a hand and service my massive meat?" I merely chuckled at his stupidity but walked over and grabbed his dick. When he moaned at the coolness of my metal hands I said 'servitron malfunction' and ripped it right off his body. I told him and others that I was willing to Serve as many of them as they wanted. Obviously no one wanted me to. Of course, I only serve those I want." Kle0 says as Nate is laughing some.
"Oh man Kle0 that's hilarious. Seriously though that guy got what he deserved that's for sure. I'm glad you're still here...the world would be a far lesser place if you were gone." Nate says as KLE0 despite not having a face seems to smile.
"And I'm glad you are here Nate. Having an old friend around...it makes me feel more like a real woman instead of a female facimile sexbot." Kle0 says as Nate hugs her.
"You were always a real woman Kle0. Even when you were just a factory made assaultron. Never let anyone tell you otherwise." Nate says as he smiles. Kle0 leans into him and plants her Servi-tron mouth upgrade on his cheek as a small smooch sound is made from Kle0.
"Thank you Nate...that means so much to me. Listen...if you want I can come with you on your little journey. I'd like to help you out. You still are my commanding officer." Kle0 says as someone chimes in.
"Ahh Kle0 my favorite babe of guns and dealer of death is leaving? Should I keep watch for Daisy too? How yah doing Sweetheart?" Hancock says as he comes into view before Kle0 smirks.
"I'm not abandoning Goodneighbor sweety. Just going to help my boss with his mission. I'll be back." Kle0 says as Hancock laughs and nods.
"Alright! Oh uh..yo Courier 6 uh the Mojave express branch is fully built up uh I'm running it right now. Got a job for yah. One, a package needs to be taken to Vault 81. Second is that a package needs to be delivered to a small camp. Bunch of robot loving weirdos want it taken to em at their camp. No deadlines really but they didn't believe you would be delivering the products. You think you can take them? I got a new courier on file too. Courier 9. He's already done a few jobs." Hancock says as Izuku smiles beneath his newly upgraded desert ranger gear. Izuku nodding his head.
"You got it handcock. I'll take those jobs. But first me and my friends Nick and Nate need to stop by the memory den. We have a brain to interrogate." Izuku says as he smiles and leaves Hancock happy as he heads to his office. Izuku Nate, Nick and even Kleo joining in as they are lead to Amari who hooks The piece of brain into Nick before Nate gets in a lounger and helps decrypt the information as Izuku is watching that happens he chuckles a little bit seeing the shitty teleportation array the institute have and shakes his head. Now all he needs to do is find the carrier frequency and he can make his own teleporter into the Institute. As Nick comes out it seems he's not himself simply based on how the man is walking away. Izuku walks over to the man and stops him at the door.
"Alright merc... You can speak to Nate once after this. After that fade into the embrace of death like the cumspewing dickhead asshole you are or I rip you out of Nick, shove your entire collective self into a damn toaster and hand you off to fisto as an upgrade for the technofetish crowd at the wrangler. Am I understood?" Izuku says as Nick recoils and speaks in a voice unfamiliar to him.
"Jesus they weren't lying saying you were here. Fuck...fine, I've been alive long enough anyway. Least I'm no longer a slave." Kellogg's imprint says as Izuku narrows his eyes at him before speaking.
"You are a slave and will always be a slave you worthless sack of shit. No one gives two shits about your craptastic, gay ass sob story of a life. I laughed at everything horrible that happened to you and boo'd every happy moment you had because you deserved every last bit of the bad. "Oh why oh why am I always treated like this? Why am I always betrayed and called monster or treated like scum?" Meanwhile your taking cash from the highest bidder to kill anyone or anything simply because you like it and it's all you were ever good at. Don't try and go all self righteous on me you dress wearing, flower prancing faggot ass bitch. Be a good little mnemonic imprint and speak one final sentence to Nate and go die like the wounded ass lapdog slave you have always been you fucking ass." Izuku says as the imprint controlling Nick just walks away and sits down upstairs waiting for Nate along with Kleo. Izuku sees Nate walk out of the room and they meet up Nick.
"Hope you found what you were looking for in my head killer." The Mnemonic imprint says before Nick responds.
"What? You want a round two asshole? Let's go!" Nate says as Nick shakes his head confused.
"Huh what? What are you talking about?" Nick responds as Nate lowers his gun.
"You sounded like Kellogg there for a second." Nate says as Nick rubs his head.
"Amari did say that their would be left over mnemonic imprints and data left behind. Huh, guess Kellogg had one last thing to say. So about what we all saw..."Nick says as Kleo and Nate smile at one another.
"We're heading to the glowing sea. We'll find an ex institute scientist there who will know how to get into the institute and we can go from there. In the meantime on the way we can help courier with his errands. I want you with me on this Nick. You're my best friend." Nate says as Izuku smiles and nods.
"Same here. I may not know you much Nick but we've talked together, fought together, killed together and worked together. I consider you a good friend. If you want I can give you a few upgrades and even pull out the remaining mnemonic imprints of Kellogg outta your skull." Izuku says as Nick smiles and nods to them both.
"Alright then, let's head out. Courier Lead the way. Which destination first?" Nick says as Izuku smiles and points to the camp who requested a delivery at an intersection in front of Wattz consumer electronics. The four party crew leaves Goodneighbor and soon make it to the camp seeing a massive hulk of a man fighting with a huge horde of strange robots protecting a full caravan of people from them with a familiar figure.
"BRING IT ON SHITCANS I CAN DO THIS ALL DAY!" Rumi screams as a hulking ass sentrybot comes screaming at her and the hulk of a man near her who laughs joyously as he intercepts it with a strong punch that quite literally quakes the earth beneath it's feet.
"I CAN SEE WHY COURIER AND YOU ENJOY FIGHTING THESE THINGS! THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I COULD REALLY LET LOOSE AFTER BEING HEALED! BRING IT ON YOU COMMUNIST TINCANS!"All Might yells as he begins punching the sentrybot to scrap. As he deals with the heavy hitters and Rumi is busy fighting the few assaultrons. While they deal with that A horde of floating protection torso's on me gutsy thrusters begin flying to the caravan glowing red obviously going to suicide bomb the camp. Izuku reacts quickly and takes a large dose of his subdermal GRX implant drug that floods his brain slowing down the passage of time to a crawl in his perception as his mind processes the information at a far quicker rate.
Izuku before anyone can react to the threat runs forward and quickly pulls out his favorite super sledge "oh baby" and as he reaches the horde of flying suicide bombing bots slams a heavy hit into the one leading the charge and he literally pancakes the whole bot and sends it flying off into the distance before laughing like a loon and pulling out "A light shining in darkness" taking shots at the remaining bots and killing them before they can bomb the group. Rumi seeing her husband is surprised before her instincts kick in dodging a flaming assaultrons blade and finishes off her opponents by crushing their head beneath her feet after tripping it up. All might even punches the sentrybot he was fighting so hard it gets sent skyward as his punch hit so hard it literally caused the weather to change from a partly cloudy day to a full on downpour of rain.
"Holy shit! Thank you all for the help we surely would have died if it wasn't for all of you. Please take anything you want! Seriously we could have all died if you didn't show up when you did. Thank you...uh" the man says as he looks at the gathered group.
"My name is ALL MIGHT!, this is Miruko. We are part of the Deku Shrubs tribe from the Mojave wastelands! It was our pleasure helping you all!" All might says as Izuku walks up and smirks while Nate, Nick and Kleo walk up to them.
"The names Courier 6. I have a package here for Jackson. Alive or dead you would have got this damn thing but I'm glad to have helped you out of a pinch." Izuku says as all the caravaneers drop to their knees praying or fall on their butts backing away from Izuku in fear.
"The Mojave Express sent you ... to deliver our package? Holy shit! It was just a few upgrades for my Partner Ada. I didn't think It was that important." Jackson says taking the package as Izuku smirks.
"I take all jobs the Express have for me no matter how simple or extravagant. You are treated the same in my eyes as anyone else. Now then, my job is done. My payment if you please." Izuku says holding out his hand as Rumi just chuckles nuzzling into him from behind as she sees Jackson begins digging through a box and he pulls out a few robot parts, some scrap electronics and scrap metals, a broken Tesla coil, a few waffle cut metal grates and even a large experimental glass display tube with solid metal base and 4 braces. Izuku seeing this smiles happily and as Jackson offers himba full on 1200 caps Izuku pushes the caps away to make sure Jackson keeps them and instead takes the parts. Even going as far as to grab a few of the broken junk bot parts.
"Keep the caps. I don't need them. This equipment here though...I wanna use it to test an idea i have. Mind if I use your weapons workbench?"Izuku asks as Jackson shakes his head.
"No I don't mind go ahead." Izuku needs no further instruction and smiles some as he rushes over towards the weapons workbench and begins cobbling together the scrap parts and electronics into a usable weapon he wants to test out. Rumi immediately runs over to Izuku spending her time talking to him as they both get into their own usual little routine while Courier works on his newest weapon of mass death. Most of the other caravaneers watch Izuku taking notes as even a few of the robot members of the caravan all watch him work while he and Rumi catch up romantically as well by kissing and talking while Izuku with practiced hands doesn't even pay any attention to his work only focusing on his wife while his hands with practiced ease build his weapon.
"Jackson this is the 7th time we were attacked by random bots. This mechanist is a threat to us and all of the Commonwealth. We need to stop them. We almost all died today. If it wasn't for the courier and his tribesman we wouldn't be here. Please we have to stop them." An assaultrons voice calls out as She looks at the travellers who are learning about the Workbench created by robco and general atomics to modify and create robots.
"I know but it's not like any of us know how to fight... We wouldn't last a minute against them. What can we do?" Jackson asks as Ada thinks for a minute before heading over to Kleo and Nick who are currently enjoying a few stories from the caravaneers and getting some weapons sales done for Kleo's shop.
"Greetings, I am ADA I would like to thank you all for showing up and aiding us on stopping the bots. If not for you, all my friends would be dead. I have a favor to ask " Ada says as Nick looks at her and smiles before nodding.
"Sure what's on your mind Ada." Nate asks as Ada begins."these robots are all under the influence of a robotic mechanic calling themselves the mechanist. She sends these bots out and they just randomly attack settlements and people killing them. We don't even know why they do this. Please you have to stop them. I want to join you in this endeavor and stop this mechanical menace before they cause too much death and destruction." Ada asks as Nate, Nick and Kleo look at her while Nate sighs and looks towards Izuku and calls out.
"Hey courier...can we make a detour to stop this mechanist person? We can't just let innocent people's lives be ended by these robots like these people almost were." Nate asks as Izuku smiles and turns around facing the group with what seems to be a huge ass Tesla rifle mounted to his shoulder. The inside humming with a huge blue lightning bolt inside it as it's encased in the glass display tube housing and has the four wafflecut grated guards at the end of the weapon with what looks like the Tesla coil at the frontvof the weapon spaced between the four grates. Izuku smirking happily as he also loads up his bandolier with what looks like m180 smoke canister grenades and electron charge Packs.
"Oh I was already working on that Nate. We'll finish my job in Vault 81 and immediately take the fight to the mechanist. I have a few toys to test out on the newest enemy we'll be facing." Izuku says as Rumi just laughs.
"Courier sweety seriously? You jury rigged a damn Tesla coil into a fucking shoulder mounted energy canon? Can you seriously not change warfare as we know it for 5 minutes?" Rumi says snuggles into him before remembering something and handing him a notebook that Magnolia gifted to her with the information he had wanted about the plant. Izuku is ecstatic and sees the coordinates for the plant match up with the enclave cache in Far Harbor he's going to head to.
"No I can't babe. After all." Izuku says as he smiles at her before responding.
"I am a dwarf and I'm digging a hole. Diggy diggy hole, digging a hole!" Let me be a dwarf and invent and build shit that essentially destroys the laws of physics." Izuku says as he hears his wife laughing happily as his joke from her favorite song of the prequirk era on quirked earth plus her favorite mythology. Izuku smiles as he hugs her.
"Stay safe love. When you get to med-tec just be careful please. The chemical is...volatile. I want you to come home in one piece." Izuku says as Rumi smiles before kissing his helmeted head.
"Don't worry sweetheart I know. Yo All Might let's get a move on! Courier said we need to get the compound from med tech now. He'll handle the bot problem." Rumi says as she and all might rush off towards Boston Izuku turning to the robot who seems to be sticking with Nate rather closely. Izuku smiling at him knowing what's happening. Izuku and his motley Crue walk from near the camp at Wattz electronics towards Vault 81 and soon are blocked by the door. Izuku scoffs at that and plugs in his Pip-Boy 3000 A series and hits the open button.
"What the shit? Where the hell did you get your hands on a working Pip-Boy?" The man in the speaker asks.
"It was a gift from a friend and his wife. They were from vault 21 in New Vegas." Izuku responds as he hears Nate speak
"I got mine in vault 111." Nate says as the voice responds.
"Well shit haven't heard of those vaults yet. What do you want?" The man asks as Izuku speaks up.
"I have a delivery for the overseer of this vault. I'm from the Mojave Express." Izuku says as the man on the other end goes silent before someone else responds.
"Sorry about him, he just takes his job as security seriously whats going on?" The woman asks as Izuku sighs
"Delivery from the Mojave Express for the overseer. My names Courier 6. Mind if I come in?" Izuku asks as the other person before speaks up.
"They also said they were from vaults we didn't know about yet. Vault 21 in New Vegas and 111." The man says as the females voice answers.
"Huh alright, let them in. We can have a little chat with our friends."the woman says as the vault door opens up. Izuku putting away his Tesla canon by slinging it on his back and he pulls out Oh baby! Having it ready just in case. The motley Crue of misfits head into the vault and meet with the woman from before.
"The names Macnamera! I'm the overseer of this vault. You had a delivery for me? Also what's the state of your vaults?" The woman says as Izuku pulls out a box and hands it over to her.
"Vault 21 is a small casino and hotel. It's in a fully maintained shape but it's entire lower sections were filled with concrete to block off dangerous paths towards robotic manufacturing warehouses." Izuku says as Nate sighs before responding.
"Vault 111 is more like a graveyard now. It was a cryofacility before the bombs dropped... Some kinda malfunction happened. I'm the only survivor besides my kidnapped son." Nate says as Macnamera gasps in horror.
"My God! I'm so sorry! I didn't expect...that is just horrible. Something like that shouldn't ever have happened." Macnamera says as she grunts holding the massive package that courier seemed to summon out his Pip-Boy s digitized inventory.
"Oh wow this is heavy. Must be the tools and raw materials i requested. Listen, you mind taking the microscopes to the medical wing? We needed this stuff to help repair the vault and help a few of our residents. Come in on In and explore. Just don't cause trouble." Macnamera says as Izuku nods grabbing the microscopes from the box and heads inside getting in the elevator. Following him down Nate and the others meet a kid who runs up to them.
"Wow you guys dress funny! Are you from outside the vault?" The kid asks as Izuku kneels down beside him.
"Yup, we're from outside. Why?" Izuku confirms and asks as the kid smiles.
"Because while funny you guys look so cool! Hey need a tour of the place? Only 5 caps." The kid says as Izuku looks to the others and stands sup before reaching into his pocket and pulling out 25 caps and handing it to the kid.
"Sure thing! Here's 25 caps. It's for all 5 of us. Show us around kid." Izuku says which actually shocks Nate and Nick as they thought courier would have ignored the kid to do his job of taking the microscopes to the med wing.
The kid who they learn is named austin takes them around the vault atrium showing them around the shops like the barbers, the general good store and different departments one by one as Izuku even plays along with Austin in a few pranks around the place. The act literally forcing Nick to reevaluate his own outlook on Courier since he's actually just helping a kid act and be like a real kid. One prank has Austin and izuku making puppy eyes at the cook of the vault for a free treat and snack and even telling Austin of a tale or two from his time in the Mojave wasteland. Austin soon takes them to the botanics lab where an old woman is located and she calls out.
"Austin? What are you doing with these strangers? I'm so sorry if he did anything wrong and upset you all. He's just an excitable lad." The woman says as Izuku just chuckles.
"Don't worry ma'am, Austin here was just showing us around the vault as a tour guide and we were on our third to last stop here. He's a good kid." Izuku says as the woman smiles.
"Thank you. Austin is sometimes a handful but I love him to death. I'm glad he's found friends ... you're definitely not from the vault. Visitors maybe? I'd like it if you could help me with an experiment if it's okay with you." The woman says as Izuku nods to her.
"Eat this mutfruit and tell me if you taste anything off." The woman asks as Izuku just takes a big bite of the fruit. The mutfruit quite literally bursting with juice as it tastes like an orange and apple mixed. He actually smiles and looks at her when finishing the fruit.
"It's delicious ma'am. No adverse effects and it tastes really good. Start production of that now and sell it to the outsiders who do trades with you guys. It'll sell out quickly." Izuku says as the woman notes it down before asking if they have any fertilizer to bring it to her so she can experiment with it. Afterwards Austin takes Izuku and his gang of friends towards his classroom.
"Miss Pinn, Miss Pinn! I have something cool to show you." Austin talks as he tells his teacher about Izuku and friends. Izuku and Nate both talk with her a bit and even agree to give a story or two about their time in the wastes as lessons for the kids if the vault opens it's doors at all. As Austin leads the group to the final destination which is the doctors office Izuku and Nate both donate blood to thean hoping it'll help with his research as Austin sees Bobby looking around suspiciously before trailing off after Bobby managing to trail behind him enough not to be seen. Izuku paying no attention to it makes sure to head towards the general goods store as Nate talks with a little girl about a cat they saw run out of the vault.
Izuku soon sees Austin being carried by the old woman from the reactor room towards Dr. Forscythes office and Bobby carrying the corpse of a molerat. Izuku ignoring the guards runs into the medical office shocking them all as they See Izuku check Austin over. Izuku finds a few bites marks from the mole rat before taking a sample of the mole rats blood and uses one of the microscopes to check on what's in it's blood. Izuku sees it's a combination of different viruses and bacteria in the blood which has been made into a rather deadly super virus. Izuku gets up from the microscope as the molerat is taken by forscythes assistant to the iso room for further testing while Izuku sees Nate run in and see what is happening to Austin
"What happened? I need to know what transpired cause that molerat has a full on mutated super virus inside it." Izuku asks as Bobby speaks up.
"Austin got bit because of me. There's this whole hidden section of vault... It's like an entirely new vault but all run down and decrepit. I keep my ... Personal things in there." Bobby says as the old woman gets angry
"You mean your chems." The woman says as she slaps the man.
"Yeah...my chems. Austin saw me go in and take a hit of my jet...I didn't notice him slip in and he was bit by that molerat but it was different that place had terminals. One said that they were making and mixing viruses but also making cures for them. What ever viruses that molerat has."Bobby says as the old woman gasps.
"They also must have cures! Bobby you're a genius! A junkie genius! Please I know you outsiders have no stake in this but please help my little boy." The old woman says as Nick and Nate both nod.
"Of course we'll help! For Austin." Nate says as Izuku immediately gets under a microscope with his blood sample taken from the molerat.
"You four head into the vaults hidden section with Bobby. I'll stay here and offer my medical expertise to help Austin fight the virus. His immune system isn't as strong as an adults so it's what's hitting him pretty hard. I'll keep him stable till you all get back." Izuku says as he immediately takes command over forscythes lab and materials making sure to take a sample of Austin's blood as well as his own that he donated. He is O negative so his blood will help fight the virus.
Getting Austin on an IV drop and a small amount of fever reducers Izuku forces Austin to swallow some antibiotics to help while his blood transfusion and simultaneous blood drawing for experimentation enables Austin to breath easy. Izuku looking under a microscope again to watch the virus work hoping to take a near dead virus cell from the molerats blood to make a vaccine.
Izuku's quick thinking and action makes Austin's fight less harrowing as Izuku's blood is far stronger against the virus than Austin's own immune system seeing how his own white blood cells, active and adaptive immune system threw hands pretty harshly against the virus leaving them to make some antibodies for further testing. Izuku making sure to break down failing medical equipment from the vault in storage and building a fully functioning makeshift autodoc running the mk 1.3 update he's able to make a shot that helps Austin make some antibodies of his own to fight the virus and buy him a few days time to hopefully allow Nate time to get the cure.
Forscythe, his assistant and even Dr.panske are furiously taking notes on Izuku's process and even making sure to ask questions and help Izuku along the way through his attempts at saving Austin and making a vaccine as a full day in a half go by like nothing. Izuku worked without rest to make his Small Vaccine from his own antibodies using the Autodoc to synthesize more into a stimpack as He injects it into Austin who before was thrashing about in bed in silent groaning agony as his body sweat like crazy. Dr.Penske never leaving her boys side until Izuku's small vaccine after half an hour helps Austin to rest peacefully. It lets her rest easy knowing her boy will be okay. Soon enough Nate and Nick burst into the room with Nick holding a green glowing syringe yelling.
"WE HAVE THE CURE USE IT ON AUSTIN!" Nate says as Nick nods.
"Only one dose? If this fails we won't have anything to synthesize more." Dr. Forscythe says as Nate insists despite having been bit himself. The doctor uses the Cure on Austin and after 20 minutes the boy wakes up while the overseer walks in.
"I'm hungry...why is everyone looking at me like that?" Austin asks as The overseer sighs.
Austin, you got infected with a very strong unknown virus. If not for our outsider friends you would have died. Courier here worked tirelessly for a full day in a half testing his own blood and yours against the virus till he came up with a solution we are now distributing to the vault but you still would have died if not for his friend Nate here finding a full cure. What possessed you to go looking in the dangerous environment?" The over seer says as Austin looks to Izuku who smiles at him.
"I just wanted to explore a new place. Nothing ever happens here in the vault. I wanted to be like courier and scout new places see new things... I didn't mean to cause anyone trouble. I'm sorry." Austin says as Izuku lightly ruffles the kids hair.
"We know Austin, don't worry about it. I was happy to help you out. Listen your guardian Dr. Penske was worried about you. Please let her know you're okay and until you're ready and trained properly don't go into unexplored places. If we failed...we would have lost you." Izuku says as Austin nods and hugs Izuku and runs up to Nate hugging him as well.
"So you picked up a Mrs. Gutsy?" Izuku asks Nate as Nate blushes a bit while curie explains what she is, where she's from and even asks if she can join them all. Izuku nods and laughs a bit before Ada and Kleo give jealous glares at curie for staying so close to Nate. Izuku, Nate, Nick and the whole group head off towards diamond City to restock on supplies while Izuku walks into Pipers house surprising her as she finally runs over
"So, finally want to answer my questions huh? Ready for your interview courier?" Piper asks as Izuku sighs and nods.
"Sure I'm ready Journo. Give me what you got." Izuku says as Piper smiles at him before getting out her note pad.
"So, you're called many things. Walker of the divide, THE Courier, the manic inventor, the man who built the west, the grim reapers sprint and your most appropriate title...the wasteland Boogeyman. By the way, checked out Quincy... Your handiwork I take it? Yeah that last one is well fucking earned. What I want to know is why no one knows your real name besides your wife. No one calls you anything but your literal job title...why?" Piper asks as Izuku sighs before relaxing against the wall behind him and crossing his arms in front of his chest.
"Simple, They call me Courier as my actual name isn't important. My job title is my identity on the west because that's what I and my wife called myself. It's a mask to hide who I really am inside...a scared and nervous child tortured by his traumatic past." Izuku says as he looks at his hands. Stained with the blood of tens of thousands he's killed in his life. Reflecting on each one who's died at his hands Izuku clenches his fists knowing it was the right choice.
"My actual name doesn't matter, who I am besides the courier doesn't matter. No one cared who I was until I put on the mask. The mask being who I am right at this moment. The other nicknames you called me came about from everyone else spreading tales of my previous jobs I completed and most showed up after I helped Mr.house negotiate peace between himself and the NCR or at the battle of hooverdam where I single handedly killed a platoon of praetorian legionnaires and frumentarri while the combined strength of the factions I gathered under my banner took care of what i left behind. I am called Courier or Courier 6 as that is who I am. It's who I want to be." Izuku says as Piper is hit hard at his words nodding to him before speaking.
"So, after your fight with Gojira many people in the west worship you as a god. Even here on the east coast some people have begun to Revere you as such as well. Anything you wanna say about that?" Piper asks as Izuku sighs shaking his head.
"I'm no god... I'm as mortal as you are. I'm as mortal as the ghouls in the wastes and as mortal as any insect or creature someone would hunt for food or game. I'm no god but who am I to deny people their right to freely worship?" Izuku says as he pulls out a necklace. On it is a common symbol everyone knows is that of the children of ATOM.
"To be honest my father figure Joshua Graham is very religious about a special god he reveres from the old world just as I myself Give glory to ATOM in my actions and my dealings. Confessor Cromwell from the town of megaton in the capital wasteland was on a mission to convert people to his faith and was in the west coast. I went to his church at first to help deliver packages and supplies to him but soon enough I was injured and while indisposed when I went to his sermons and soon joined as a member of his following. I worship ATOM. If a bunch of people wish to Revere me as a god I am fine with it. They are as free to worship me as I do ATOM. If any readers of yours worship me I only have this to say. "I don't try to be a pious man nor a religious man. I simply wish to be a good man" please if you do worship me than do so with your actions...help those in need of it, offer your time and effort to hear or help solve the problems of your neighbor or friends. Spend time with your loved ones doing things they love even if you hate it. Hell if you can band together and Fight against raiders if you have the guns and the balls to fight. Just don't be a festering asshole and you're okay in my book." Izuku says as he puts his symbol of ATOM away making Piper write it all down and smiling at him.
"Oh yeah this is going to be awesome. This issue will surely sell like hotcakes. So courier 6...your wife the Guardian Miruko. Rumor has it you've bedded a few girls besides her. How's she feel about this?" Piper asks as Izuku narrows his eyes at her before sighing.
"Miruko insisted I gain experience in love making after she took my virginity. As I was tasked with clearing them out I killed every single Deathclaw I could before fighting Esther. I named her that after my favorite Fatman launcher. Me and her fought, she nearly killed me and I almost killed her as I was already wounded from the others of her pack and dealing with them but she was in heat and instead of killing me started raping me. "Wait, you're the weakest of your tribe? I highly doubt that shit. You have literally fought against natural disasters." Piper says as Izuku brings up his Pip-Boy and shows a small recording of Toshinori punching a sentrybot into space and changing the weather.
"And members of my tribe are so strong they can punch storms into existence. I am weak, with my guardian Miruko we walked out towards the Mojave and wound up near primm. I needed a job and the Mojave Express was hiring. I walked in, asked for the job the rest was history. No one in my tribe wanted anything to do with me at first. Only my mother and my guardian cared about me. I love them both dearly. But my people are my people. I love them flaws in all." Izuku says as Piper just chuckles a bit before looking at him.
"Well, I got a lot of my questions answered but I do have a few personal questions. 1 you said earlier that you were looking for the child of your friend who was kidnapped anything come of that? Also I got word of you out near Quincy. What was out there that you needed to deliver? Especially since it's full of gunners." Piper says as Izuku smirks.
"Was full of gunners. I had a job to do. I never leave a job unfinished. Dead or alive that man in Quincy got his package. It was just a few caps and some sunset sasparilla for him to drink. But when I finished the delivery I decided the gunners needed to go. So I tore them apart. Quincy is now once more free to be settled by normal wasters. Izuku says as he smiles at his grappling hook he cobbled together. As for the friend, we found where the son is now we just have to get there." Izuku says as Piper nods.
"My God, I can't believe I got to pick the brain of the Boogeyman himself. L-Listen I know that your guardian is someone you travel with all the time but I was wondering...could I maybe join you for an adventure? Make a second part to this piece?" Piper asks actually seeming very sincere. Izuku shocked by this sighs and nods his head.
"Yeah sure...I can take you out for an adventure. But you need to get Miruko's approval first. She's at Med-tec Labs right now but will be at sanctuary hills soon enough. I'm heading to Wattz electronics. I have a lead on something that was stolen from me by someone I used to trust."Izuku says as he leaves Pipers shack leaving the woman to put together her paper. Izuku sees Kleo, Ada and Curie watching Nate as He works on some Armor. All three seeming to be focusing on a very special part of him.
"You know, it'd be easier to get his attention if you just tell him." Izuku says as all three boys turn around and Kleo scoffs.
"Yeah just after his wife died and his son was kidnapped what he needs is a sex bot lover. No we're fine watching for now." Kleo says as Ada nods.
"He's making armor and even building us a workbench so he can alter us for combat. Although I have to admit I am curious about the servitron upgrades Kleo has since she says it has programming to allow her to feel actual touch so I'd like to have those." Ada says as Kleo laughs a little bit before nodding.
"Okay just saying Nate would like a woman who's upfront. Let's go people we won't stop the Mechanist by just standing here. I have an idea on where it is too. I was able to compile an algorithm based on patterns of robot sightings. I believe the mechanist is actually based near an old Child of ATOM safe house Confessor Cromwell used on his pilgrimage. Cromwell told me he left me something for me there but I have a job to do. So we'll split up. I'll head to Wattz electronics you guys head to the safehouse. Careful it seems to be near a gen 2 super mutant hangout and a raider headquarters."Izuku says as he downloads the map to Nates Pip-Boy before heading out to Wattz electronics. Getting into the building Izuku sees the small shrine to an old comic book hero getting some info he heads out to a radio tower and activates it. His helmet taking a bullet as Izuku crouches and disappears into the aether going invisible. As a few people run up they speak.
"Shit, I thought it'd be that traitor. It was just some random. Where'd he go?" The man says as a second man comes out wearing a special outfit with a black E surrounded by 13 stars.
"You moron I told you not to fire. I recognize that man. He's" the enclave officer says as Izuku reveals himself in front of them.
"Courier 6, at your service. So, we Enclave aren't fully gone. Why did you shoot at me?" Izuku says as the enclave officers sigh.
"We were hoping you were the traitor coming to activate the device so we could find where he took the experimental armor. Uh...your experimental armor sir. Before we could break the other traitor to give us the info we wanted we had to abandon the BADTFL offices. Raiders kinda made their way there and we weren't properly equipped to deal with them." The Enclave officer says as Izuku nods to him smiling a little bit.
"Don't worry about that. I'm going to get my armor back. Listen there's something I need you to do. There's an Enclave Cache near Sanctuary hills. It's just nearby the vault 111 walkway by the river. I need you to radio the others and head there. It'll be a sort of base for now. The fucking brotherhood of steel is in the Commonwealth and we won't survive direct confrontation with them at the moment. We need to get a plan together and that will come very soon. In the mean time I have a few things to take care of. You have your orders soldiers head out." Izuku says as Both the men nod and salute Izuku before running away towards the Cache while radioing the orders to other enclave survivors hiding out in the Commonwealth. Izuku making sure to head to the BADTFL offices
As he's there he makes sure to use his Desert Rangers new feature to stealth his way through the BADTFL offices taking out the raiders as he goes. One in particular he uses as a human shield. As he gets the information from the corpse of the one who helped the traitor he triggers the second portion of the radio frequency making sure to check his coordinates to update them finding he has to head to the Boston Police Rations Stockpile. Having a new destination in mind Izuku makes his way there as he's making his way there he's intercepted by someone.
"Oh thank God! Oh thank God you're here!" A random woman says as Izuku stares at her before putting his arm out.
"Whoa calm down there. Are you okay?" Izuku asks as the woman nods.
"Yeah I'm okay...uh wait no I'm not okay I need your help. it's my friend." The woman says as Izuku responds.
"Okay well what's wrong with your friend?" Izuku asks as he sees the woman's eyes are a bit out of it.
"Well as I said my friend you see she broke her arm. And now it don't work so good." The woman says as Izuku just stares blankly at her.
"Uh huh" Izuku says as he watches the woman's body language change slightly.
"Yeah and now he can't really like walk on it and shit." The woman says as Izuku knows this is ambush but silently decides to talk with the woman.
"Ah I see." Izuku says as he wonders how he's going to finish these raiders.
"Now it's gonna be hard to get him to like safety and stuff. And move." The woman says as Izuku helps her out.
"And in moving she can make things worse for himself right?" Izuku says as the woman nods.
"Right! And exactly. And and" the woman says trying to keep this going.
"And then theirs the children to worry about." Izuku mentions as the woman nods frantically.
"Oh yeah! Yes kids are there too! And they got all broke shit too so. If you could just." The woman says as izuku makes sure this is what the woman wants.
"Okay let me stop you right there...I don't know what smack you hit to get you outta your mind right now." Izuku says as the woman responds.
"Oh I'm pretty." As she says this Izuku gently puts his finger to her lips and gently rubs her cheek.
"Shhhh my little smack angel. Now are you absolutely sure you want me. A fully armed" Izuku asks as He pulls out his Tesla Canon.
"Fully Armored." Izuku says slamming his hand on his chest.
"Walking Boogeyman made reality helping your friends?" Izuku says as the woman completely out of it smiles and chuckles.
"You got any chems?" She asks as Izuku sighs.
"Yeah I have plenty.' Izuku says as the woman laughs.
",Yup! Follow me!" The woman says as she walks off towards some hardware store.
"Just around this corner my friends are there." The woman says as Izuku steps out into the open as two other raiders show up
"We got you now...Oh my GOD! DAMN IT JANICE!" The raider leader says as his subordinate just stares.
"Oh man this ain't good." The man says as Janice laughs.
"Now you get to die" Janice says as Izuku sighs pulling out Dinnerbell.
"Whoa, no who said anything about dying. We didn't! I swear." The leader says as the person behind speaks again.
"This is worse than when she brought us the Deathclaw." The man says as Izuku just blasts Janice's head clean off making sure to take care of the others in the hardware store. Heading off towards the Rations stockpile and ensuring to keep the radio broadcast up and running to hopefully make the traitor sweat a little bit. Walking out of the Rations stockpile with his power armor Izuku now walks his way north east to get to Nate and the others. Seeing Nate actually walk out of what looks to be a storage shack for a warehouse he smiles a little bit.
"I'm guessing you got the mechanist taken care of?" Izuku asks still wearing his armor as Nate nods
"Yeah was pretty easy. You had three places marked for increased robotics sightings and the mechanist used all three. We were able to stop her. Turns out she had failed to put in a failsafe protocol to keep the robots AI from assuming the easiest way to help humanity is by killing them. She fixed the issue but there are still bots out there who will have the original programming we need to kill. But in the meantime the mechanist is dealt with. So now we head to the glowing sea and Virgil."Nate says as He and Izuku nod. Izuku seeing that Ada Kleo and Curie are all sticking rather closely to Nate. Something must have happened.izuku makes a detour to the child of ATOM safehouse and walks in. Upon entering he hears the usual chanting of his chapter playing through a radio and he smiles seeing a weapon rack. On the weaponrack Izuku smiles and is taken back. Heading over to it he sees a note and reading it he realizes that Confessor Cromwell left The weapon behind.
Confessor Cromwell had used it to keep himself safe but in his later years left it here as he could no longer carry it and decided it was best to leave for the next deciple to find. Izuku smiles as he grabs hold of his old Plasma Gatling and looking at Nate he chuckles.
"We need to head to Sanctuary. We have a few things to drop off, some plans to make and we have a few things to go over. I hope you don't mind." Izuku says as Nate shakes his head some before agreeing.
"No I agree. We have a lot to take care of before anything. I agree. We need to head back and regroup. Maybe set up a plan for traversing the glowing sea." Nate says as his whole group and Izuku begin the long walk back to Sanctuary hills. The whole time they walk north the group is attacked by Mirelurks, raider and super mutants. Each member of the team having gotten pretty good at fighting. Izuku even making jokes as he and Nate have Music playing through the Speakers on their Pip-Boys as opposed to the setting that plays the music directly in their heads. Izuku actually singing Uranium fever pretty well as he uses his plasma Gatling on a few retreating abominations. Soon enough night falls and the crew is soon walking over old north bridge as Izuku sees Midnight taking someone into the house.
"Oh hey Courier...i see you had fun. On your little trip. We made some new friends and got a lot of information! We can talk about it in the morning. But first... What happened to you guys?" Midnight says as Izuku merely smiles beneath his power armor helmet.
