Chapter 5: Settling Down for the Night Part 1

Back at the School Garden

Wendy and Carla were escorted to their room by Kongou Mitsuko. "This is your room." She took out a fan. "I hope we can be friends. Also, two schoolmates of mine live in this part. You'll meet them." The two Fairy Tail wizards walked inside their room. Wendy was amazed at how big the room was. "Wow, this room is big and look at that window!" She walked over to look to see the outside and saw the street with cars passing by. "This is amazing."

Carla was looking around. "I must admit that the School Garden area is more than I'd thought." She looked at the door. "Though this could be a problem if Wendy is taking classes, then it'll give her a hard time to be on this mission."

Wendy yawned softly. "Yawn...I'm so tired, though, I need a bath so let's take one." Carla had to agree and transform into her human form. "Careful, if someone sees you do that, it might cause attention."

Touma was escorted to the captain's room and approached the desk and on the other side was Fisher Lily in human form. There was an awkward silence in the air as the female Fishman looked at the teenage boy. "Touma Kamijou..." The boy stuttered quietly trying to find the words of his name being said by the captain. "Y-yeah...that's my name."

"Hello, my name is Fisher Lily but you can tell me Lily." The Sea Bream Fishman was introduced. "I'm the captain of this pirate ship vessel."

Touma felt utterly nervous upon hearing that detail. "Pirates...you mean this is..." Before he could continue, Lily put her hand out signaling him to stop. "It's fine, we have no intention of harming you or the pilot." Despite the answer, Touma was still unsure what to say until he felt two arms wrap around his left arm. "What the hell?" He saw Holly hugging his arms. "Come on, you can trust us."

"Yeah, no need to be so shy around girls." Holly tightened her grip around the teenage boy's arm. Touma felt his cheeks heat up with redness. "Why does this feel so familiar." He began how Misaka's sisters hugged his arms at the mall.

"Technically, I'm the only male here and the rest of the crew is female." Sanosuke arrived in his human form though he still had his feminine pretty boy appearance with his muscles and bisceps.

Isaribi was there with her giant war hammer on her back, though, in human form and she had hair style. "Don't worry, we don't bit any Dosun of you. Anyway, my name is Isaribi. Please to meet you."

Vanessa was standing by the captain's side. "Anyway, let's get down to business. We're planning to head to Academy City. However, we haven't been there in quite a long time. So, I would assume that you're returning there as well." Touma had to admit he was on his way to the city considering he was ordered to. "Oh yeah, but, what is your reason for going there?"

Yuno rushed over to Touma only to be stopped by Holly's hand placed on her face as she swung her arms in a cartwheel gesture. "Hey, let go of my face! I want to hug him too!" Touma felt awkward than ever as his face became beet red and he saw Yuna pull her face away and ducked underneath then rushed over to Touma wrapping her arms around his body as she snuggled her face against his chest. "Wow, you're scrawny young man, but you got some muscles, pookie." Touma felt heat emit from his head like a frying pan and his face was more beet red than ever.

"Knock it off you two." Morgan lectured hitting the two girls on the top of her heads using her katana swords' handles and she looked at the young teenage boy. "My name is Morgan, I'm the third commander of this pirate ship. I specialize in sword technique." Touma was astonished, he could tell she was probably strong. "Moving on, I'm the third commander of this pirate ship." She had a serious demeanor on her face. "I will cut down any enemy that stands in my way." Touma felt a little nervous upon hearing that. "Don't worry, I won't cut you down, I don't consider you an enemy."

Feeling a little relieved, Touma had a question. "Were you the one that saved me and the pilot?" Yuna and Holly by Morgan. "On the contrary, we all saved you, technically, it was us that dragged you and the pilot out of the ocean."

Touma was still puzzled about one thing. "But, why did you save me and the pilot?" Jasmine decided to answer that. "We saw the helicopter crash, we inspected it and that's when we noticed you both inside."

"That doesn't explain why you saved us anyway?" Touma asked still a little curious.

Fisher Lily could tell that boy was more just curious, he was probably a little suspicious after learning about them being pirates. "We'll tell you due time, but, I can tell you this. We owe your family for helping us over 30 years ago." Touma quietly gasped and he was more curious than ever. "That doesn't give me much of an answer."

Vanessa sighed. "We'll discuss this in due time, we can promise that we'll meet again someday and everything will be explained." She slowly approached the boy cautiously as she offered her hand. Touma looked at her for moment and saw he could trust them for now, he took hold of the woman's hand with his right hand.

Shatter!

Suddenly Vanessa's human form began to fade as smoke emitted from her body revealing her Whaleshark Fishman form. Touma was utterly stunned by what he was seeing. However, it was clear what he was looking at wasn't human. Touma suddenly fainted on the ground as Yuna caught him in her arms. "Got ya, pookie." She giggled.

"That went well," Sanosuke muttered with his arms crossed.

"Never mind that, what just happened, his right arm cancelled out Vanessa's transformation," Jasmine said a little surprised of what just happened.

"We'll deal with that some other time, but we can't blame him for being a little suspicious." Fisher Lily said with her arms crossed. "Anyway, get him back to the sickbay so he can rest."

In the secret underground lab.

Dimaria and Brandish were chained to a wall.

"Uhh..." Brandish's eyes began to open. "My head...feels like someone got the drop on me." She muttered feeling groggily. "Where am-" She turned to see Dimaria next to her. "Dimaria, why are you here?" She asked, but, her former teammate wasn't responding.

"Looks like one of the prisoners woke up." There was the mysterious young man Kouta approaching the former Spriggan Twelve member. "I was thinking that you both would still be unconscious." He was soon in front of the green-haired woman, though, upon hearing the boy's words she began to put two-two together. "Wait, are you the one that got the drop on me?"

Kouta didn't flinch and his eyes met hers. "Yes, as for your friend, someone else was able to get the drop on her." He slowly began to raise his right arm. "But, I shall make sure you do our bidding." Brandish narrowed her eyes at the young man looking angry. "Do your bidding, sorry young man, I don't intend to have-" A strange purple light began to emit from the boy's right hand. "What is this magic...It's nothing like..." The purple light began to glow brighter and brighter.

Dimaria started to wake up due to the magic power that she was sensing. "What is that magic?" Kouta heard the other woman but kept his focus on Brandish as whatever magic the boy was using was taking effect. "Hey, you! What is going on here Brandish?" Brandish's eyes went blank no sign of emotions. "Hey you little bastard, what are you doing to Randy!?" She demanded. The purple light that was enlightening from Kouta's hand disappeared as Brandish passed out.

"Randy! Randy! You little monster, what have you done to" Kouta raised his hand abruptly and the purple light emitted from his hand once more and caused Slow Time/God Soul User to pass out like her friend. Kouta put his arm down as he looked at the two women. "It's complete, they'll surely be on our side."

In another lab where a large tank was holding a figure inside the liquid and standing in front of it was Zira Dragneel. "Looks like our recruit is about to be ready." A light was turned on above the tank and showed Irene. "My Life Magic and Academy City's technology, I'll be able to create more useful creatures."

In the room that has the other unknown clone and the dragon girl.

The pod that the dragon girl was starting to crack as her voice was heard. "Touma...Touma...help me..." She cried telepathy. "Help me...help...ME!" The pod exploded creating a strong shockwave in the room.

The alarms in the room went off.

"What was that?" Zira asked.

Nikka was in a hallway and looked at the alarm lights blaring. "Looks like someone woke up."

"Nikka!" Deliora's voice called telepathy. "We got in trouble, our sleeping dragon girl woke up sooner than we thought."

"Send in the devil guards!" Nikka commanded.

In a dark room had about twenty containers and in each one had the armored knights that resembled the bodyguard that worked under Tartaros. Each one awoke and gathered their weapons. There were demon grunts that wielded long axes and swords. "Listen up men, find the dragon girl and capture her. If you have to use force then go ahead, capture her at any cost!"

The dragon girl was limping her way through the hallway. "Pant...pant...pant." She breathed out half-conscious. She continued as she faintly heard noises coming from her. "Enemies..." She muttered.

The demon bodyguards were coming at her. "Men, she's over there!" The dragon gasped quietly seeing the demon guards running toward her. She continued, but, her legs were starting to give out due to the early wake. "My legs...are so tired...no...I must be half-conscious and now...I'm about to faint..." She thought worriedly as an image of Touma Kamijou popped into her mind. "No...I can't give up!" She sprouted her wings with her inner strength and flew in the air with incredible speed.

"SHE'S FLYING?!" The guards exclaimed comically.

"Never mind that, shoot her wings to slow her down!" The guards pointed their staffs firing magic bullets at the dragon girl. The dragon girl heard the bullets and evaded them with ease. She saw a large door up ahead but it was starting to close down. "No...I gotta...to get out..." She kept pursuing toward the door and as it was almost closed, she glided down underneath just as it reached down. But, not before a few magic bullets manage to shoot through her left wing. "Ugh...my left wing..." She flapped it and saw a few holes in it. She tried to flap it but doing so caused her to cringe in pain. "It's seriously injured." She started to walk forward, though, due to her injured wing, she couldn't move on as fast. "No...I can barely walk." It got worse when she caught a whiff of smoke from the door behind and saw something frying from the other side. "No...they're using a laser to create a hole."

She was right, a demon guard was using a powerful laser gun to fire a magic beam. "To think that weapons like these were created by lowly humans."

"Yeah, humans must have a brain after all."

The dragon girl gritted her teeth and then something clicked in her mind as her wings vanished into her back. "Wait...did I do that?" She asked herself. She shook the thought off and decided to run and she was able to without limping. "Great, putting my wings into my body is reducing the pain." She also felt a warmth in her back. "My wings must be healing." She kept running as fast as she could. A half hour passed and she came up to the square-like door. "This must be the entrance door." She looked for a way to open it.

"Sorry, dragon girl, but, if you're thinking of opening it, it won't...not without a special key." A voice from the monitor said it belonged to Deliora. "You might as well give up, if you do, I promise not to hurt you too much."

The dragon girl clenched her hands tightly. "No...I can't get captured...I came so close to being stopped." A magic blue aura soon enveloped her body. Soon her body began to transform which released a strong magic energy that shook the entire area destroying the lights that were on above the ceiling and nearby walls.

The demon guards arrived as soon as they saw the lights go off.

"What happened to the lights!"

"Deliora, what is the meaning of this?!"

Deliora was wondering the same thing. "Damn it, what the hell was that power and camera that was in that room was destroyed!"

A loud thunderous roar was heard shaking the entire lab.

The demon guards saw a six-foot shadowy figure emerge in the darkness and the only thing showing was glowing blue eyes that resembled a dragon's eyes. "What the hell is that thing?"

The shadowy creature destroyed the main entrance door and the demon guards aimed with their weapons. "Fire your magic bullets men!"

The shadowy creature turned its head opened its mouth and breathed out a huge water torrent that swallowed the demon guards as the current from the attack took them down the hallway where they came from. With that done, the giant creature turned away and fled. A fire was created by nearby barrels that had gasoline and some rumble crashed on the ground causing sparks that light the gas that was spilled causing a big fire explosion lighting up the room revealing the giant creature's appearance and showing a dragon-like creature with the same long hair.

On the pirate's ship flag crow nest. Sun was close to setting down over the horizon.

Nasagi was looking for land with her telescope. "According to the map, Academy City should be." She narrowed down where the ship could go to. "Well, we can use that route. School District 23. We should be there in one hour." She held a compass in her other hand. "To think humans create things like these." She had one more thought. "However, we'll need to find out how we can get him to his hometown area without being seen." She looked at the map again. "Luckily, our ship has a new trick since then, all we got to dock somewhere, better talk to Arista about this." An image of Touma popped into her mind causing her to gasp quietly as a faint blush to appear on her face. She shook her head. "I shouldn't get districted."

Touma was sleeping on the bed. Little did he know that Yuna and Holly were watching over him. Morgan was sitting on a chair keeping an eye on her two crew mates making sure they didn't do anything sneaky. She caught a glimpse of Touma's sleeping face. "Wow, he looks so cute sleeping." She thought her face was faintly red.

The rest of the crew members were asleep.

Maggie was sitting in her office. "To think we would be meet Professor Derek's grandson after all these years of sleeping. I wonder how much has changed."

In the captain's cabin.

Fisher Lily was pondering about other things. "We were asleep for over 30 years, I wonder how Jimbei and others on Fishmand Island are doing. No doubt, our disappearance had them worried sick." She drank a sip of ginger ale and wiped her mouth. "It won't be busy, getting back to our world might prove to be tougher than I originally thought."

Back at the Touma's apartment.

Natsu's team settled down in their rooms.

Natsu and Happy were asleep on their bed. Natsu's snoring was keeping Gray awake. Though, he didn't get annoyed as he had something on his bed. "This world has advanced technology, probably more advanced than ours." Snoring kept escaping Natsu's mouth. "Geez, can that pyro moron be asleep without snoring a bear?" Surprisingly, Natsu was too busy snoring to hear him. "Well, he didn't hear me, that's a first."

Juvia was taking a shower and pondering about a certain ice mage. "Gray..." She thought.

Gray was coming into the bathroom wearing a towel over his waist. "Juvia...my love..." Juvia was watching her love looking at her romantically. "Shall we wash each other's bodies?" Juvia was love-struck with heart-shaped eyes. "Oh yes! My darling, come and get me!"

Knock knock

"Juvia, are you okay in there?" Cana's voice snapped Juvia out of her dreamy state causing the water mage to sulk.

Lucy was done with her bath and had a towel wrapped around her body. "Erza, the bath is all yours." She said smiling. Erza chuckled a bit. "Alright...time for me to have a nice bath." She fell into a towel but before she moved, she noticed the blonde had a slightly worried look on her face. "Something wrong, Lucy?"

Lucy's eyes made contact with the scarlet mage's. "Oh, I was just thinking about what happened so far. Those vehicles are nothing compared to what we saw." Erza had a small smile on her face. "Agreed, the technology is more advanced than we thought. On top of that, we don't know much about their equipment. Honestly, this mission has proven to be a little more challenging than we expected."

"Yeah, but, we came this far, so, we can't give up," Lucy said determined which made her friend chuckle again. "Yes, though, we should contact the others sometime tomorrow morning. Also, Komoe said "that she would be here sometime tomorrow to drop off our school outfits"." Lucy nodded.

Elfman was watching the TV and changing the channels. "Wow, this kind of equipment is so manly!" Mirajane had to agree for once. "No kidding, Earthland never had stuff like this before. It's sort of similar to those video transponder snails and lacrimas use for broadcasting screens." Elfman changed the channel to the news channel. "Recaping our top story, a family had sighted a pirate ship outside the ocean and kids witnessed a fish creature. However, the parents of the kids claim that the stranger might've been wearing a mask that resembles a fish."

Mirajane was suddenly intrigued. "A fish creature..." Elfman was thinking the same thing. "Sounds like a Fishman...could it be..."

Aquapad was checking out his bed and relaxing. "Wow, such a soft bed." His thoughts suddenly turned to Lisanna. "Though, sharing a room with...Lisanna...is something...I didn't expect." His face went beet red.

"Hey Aquapad..." Lisanna's voice snapped the Marlin Fishman out of his thoughts. "Your face is red." Aquapad jumped in surprise waving his arms around his face still red. "Uhh...no...no, I'm perfectly fine!"

Anna was done with her shower without her ponytail and wore a towel around her chest. "The technology is more advanced than I thought. I can hardly wait to see what books are here to read." She had one more thought. "Though, we'll need some help to learn how to use the equipment. Perhaps that maid could give us some tutors." Yukino came out of the bathroom. "Yeah, this technology is probably out of our league." Anna had to disagree a little. "No matter, I'm sure we'll have help from the maid or perhaps she knows someone that might help."

Rufus was lying down on a bed. "This bed is so soft. A memory that'll surely be remembered." He began to think about the other Sabertooth guild members in Earthland. "Sting, Rogue, Minerva, Orga, Lector, and Frosch...everyone, I wish the rest of you were here to see this city."

At Aiho's apartment on, the thirteenth floor.

Gajeel and the Custody Unit Enforcment got to their rooms.

Gajeel was sitting on a couch with his arms spread on the back. "Well, the people that build this place know their stuff." Lily was checking out the kitchen area. "Yeah, the kitchen area is quite nice too."

Levy was looking out the windows. "Yeah, we got a good view. The stars look so pretty." She began to blush as she turned her head around slowly. "Hey Gajeel, do you want-" She halted her words as she saw Gajeel already asleep and she almost face-faulted. "Oh well, I guess we're both beat. I'll go ahead and take a shower before heading to bed."

Primo was checking out the living room. "I must admit the people that created this apartment must have good taste." Lahara fixed her glasses. "Yes, but, remember, the technology is more advanced than we thought." She had additionally thought. "Though, knowing to use the technology to find the two Spriggan Twelve and the lost Fishmen will prove to be difficult."

"So, what do you think we should do?" Primo asked not facing his captain. Lahara yawned a bit. "Well, we'll discuss that in the morning, for now, I'll be hitting the shower and head to bed."

Mest was lying down on a couch. "The couch is quite comfortable." He yawned softly.

Kovu was checking out the refrigerator. "Looks like the fridge doesn't have much food, only rice and water." He pouted.

Joan sighed. "Geez, you need to get some vegetables otherwise you'll spoil your figure," Kovu grumbled with annoyance upon hearing that lecture. The angel girl stretched out her arms. "Well, I'll take a nice bath and hit the sack."

Usagi had his room and was his original form after Aiho was out of sight. "I admit having this room to myself is nice, though, I wish I had a roommate." He began to wonder about one thing. "Maggie was one of the Fish Tiger pirates, I wonder if she's still with them." He can only hope for her safety.

In an unknown area.

The dragon girl reverted to her human form, her wings and tail were gone. "Pant...pant...pant...I need to keep moving." Luckily she was about to sprout out her wings to fly into the air until she realized that she might draw unwanted attention if she were spotted. Then she saw a coat with a hood and picked it up. She put it on and was a good fit. "Now's my chance." She sprouted her wings out once more and flew in the air with fast speed. "Touma...Touma..." She thought.

The Earthland Wizards are settling into their apartment rooms and having their thoughts. Touma has a conversation with the Fish Tiger Pirates. Yuna and Holly have taken quite an interest in the boy. Seemingly has Morgan. Could they become part of his harem too? Vanessa shows her true form which causes Touma to faint. Regardless, they still plan to take Touma home. The dragon girl makes a hard escape from the lab and flies through the sky in disguise in the dark. A clone of Irene, Erza's mother, is being created but for what purpose? Kouta uses a spell on Brandish and Dimaria that seals their memory, which part of their memory will be sealed. That'll be revealed later in the future chapters.

End of chapter.
