Manny and Emma are in the car heading into downtown
Emma: So, where are we going?
Manny: I thought first we could use a day at the spa, getting Mani's and Pedi's, then I thought we could do some shopping
Emma: Ok.
Manny: Hey, I know you're kind of handling what happen in your own way, but you know I'm here if you need someone to talk to.
Emma: I know, I'll be ok. I promise
Manny: Well, you better be! I need my best friend
Emma chuckles as Manny laughs
Emma (quietly): I should've seen it coming
Emma said as she stares out the window blankly
Manny: What?
Emma: I should've seen it coming. I should've known something was going to happen
Manny: Em-
Emma: I should've went to Darryl, the minute he started hitting on me
Manny: Honey, you can't beat yourself over something you had no control over
Emma silently weeps
Emma: I'm scared to sleep at night, because I'm afraid if I close my eyes, I'll see his face
Manny: Honey
Emma: I've stayed strong for my family's sake, but I'm not that strong Manny.
Emma said as they pull in the parking lot of the spa, Manny shuts the car off and looks at Emma
Manny: Emma Christine Cameron, you are the strongest person I know.
Manny said as Emma wipes a tear away
Manny: You cannot blame yourself for a mad man, he was seriously sick in the head, Emma. And this isn't the first time he's done this.
Emma: What?
Manny: He did this to 3 other women, at his previous schools. He had a type, Em, he'd go after blondes with Brown or Hazel eyes, and their name would begin with E.
Emma looks at Manny
Manny: We didn't tell you when we found out cause we were afraid it would be too traumatic for you, sweetie
Emma: That's disturbing on so many levels, I can't imagine how they felt.
Manny: I'll call Chuck and see if he can get some info on the other victims, see if he can get me one of their addresses and a phone number. We'll arrange a meeting with one of them.
Emma looks at Manny
Emma: Manny, I-
Manny pulls Emma in for a loving hug
Manny: You don't have to say anything. I'm always here for you.
Emma: Thank you, for being the best, best friend, and sister a girl could ever have
Manny: Always, Em. I love you
Emma: I love you too
Emma pulls away from the hug, she reaches in her purse and gets her compact mirror out and checks her make up
Manny: Your make up looks fine, you can't even tell you were crying, Em
Manny's phone buzzes with a text message, as she reads it, her face lights up with a beaming smile
Manny: Chester just text me, asking about how you're doing
Emma: Awe, tell him I said thank you for checking on me.
Emma said with a smile as Manny texts Chester back
Emma: You know, I couldn't help but obviously notice how happy you've been since your big wedding with Chester. I'm glad you're happy, Manny.
Manny: Chester's so wonderful to me. I couldn't ask for a better husband.
Emma: Good, I don't want to have to hurt him again for hurting you
Emma said with a chuckle
Manny: You know what, forget the spa. Let's just go shopping
Emma: What happen to Mani's and Pedi's?
Manny: I think shopping would cheer you up faster than Mani's and Pedi's would
They laugh as Manny turns the car on and backs out of the parking spot and head to the mall
Emma: I should call Sean and check on Rose
Manny: Em, they're fine. Sean said if anything happened, he'd call you.
Emma: This is the first I've left the house since the kidnapping, I'm just overly worried
Manny: They're fine. I promise
A short time later, they arrive at the Mall, Manny parks the car, they get out and enter the mall, smiling, laughing, arm and arm.
Emma: You know, this is just what I needed
Manny: I know.
Emma: Thanks Manny, for dragging me out of the house
Manny: Truthfully, it was both your husband's idea and mine. We texted yesterday after you fell asleep on him.
Manny said as they walk into the clothing store
Emma: I'd be lost without you two.
Manny: I've been your best friend since we were in diapers, it's me you'd be lost without
Manny said with a laugh as Emma smiles
Emma: You know, ever since the kidnapping, Sean's been so patient and so loving with me. I haven't been feeling very wifey since it happened
Emma said as she browses through the clothes rack
Manny: Well, yea. I mean you were kidnaped by a psycho
Emma: Ever since it happened, he's been there with me through every anxiety attack, every panic attack I've had since I've been home, and he always just brings me right out of it
Manny: He's coocoo bananas about you, he's always going to be there for you, Em
Manny said as she browses through the shirts and pulls one out and holds it up against her, as she looks at Emma
Manny: Does this make me look fat?
Manny said with a giggle
Emma: Do not make me smack you, you are not fat!
Emma said with a laugh
Manny: I feel fat
Emma: Well, you're not
Manny chuckles
Manny: But, in all seriousness. Chester was very caring when I was attacked at the studio. I couldn't even shower without having a panic attack and screaming for Chester.
Emma: I need Sean to go back to work so we can have some money coming in, but at the same time, I want him home with me
Manny: Does he know this?
Emma: No
Emma said as she pulls a pair of jeans out and holds them against her waist, Manny places her hand on Emma's shoulder
Manny (softly): Hey, I get it. It's ok to be scared, Em. You can only put on a brave face for so long.
Emma: Is it wrong that I ask myself why, sometimes? Like out of all the teachers in the English department, why pick me?
Manny: Cause you're a smoke show, duh
Emma smirks at Manny, Manny's phone rings, she looks at her caller ID and sees it's Chester
Manny (to Chester on the phone): Hey babe
Chester: Hey baby. I just wanted to call you and tell you; I got a call from Mom's neighbor; She went over to Mom's to check on her and found her on the floor
Manny turns to Emma with a concerned look on her face as Emma looks back at her in confusion
Manny: Is she ok?
Manny covers the mouthpiece on her phone and tells Emma what happen
Chester: I guess she took a nasty fall yesterday. And her neighbor went over to check on her, after not hearing from her for a couple days, and found her on the floor, and called emergency services
Manny: Oh, my gosh. This is why she needs to be closer to us.
Chester: She's in the hospital, I'm getting ready to head up north to go see her.
Manny: Well, I'll be home in a couple hours, If you want, I'll come with you.
Chester: No, Stay down here babe, Emma needs her best friend right now.
Manny: Ok, Call me when you get to her, be careful
Chester: I will, I love you baby
Manny: I love you too honey
Manny hangs up
Emma: Is Chester's mom ok?
Manny: I'm hoping so. I hope he can convince her to move down here by us.
Emma: I know it's got to be hard on him, and his brothers, knowing that their only parent lives 4 hours away.
Manny: Yea, but they all keep in close contact with her. We all do
Emma: There are times, I wish Rose could meet Sean's parents, but he hasn't spoken to his parents in over 10 years.
Manny: Well, She's got the best Nana and Papa there is.
Manny said as she pulls a shirt off the rack and places it in her arms
Manny: Random question, what size shirt does Sean wear?
Emma: Large, Why?
Manny: Just curious
Emma gives Manny a look
Manny: What?
Emma: I love you, and I know you, I know when you're up to something
Manny: I'm not up to anything
Emma: Manny
Manny (chuckles): What?
Emma: I know you
Manny: Ok, fine. I'm trying to a shirt made for Chuck from Chester, as a birthday present and he's about the same size as Sean
Emma: I see
Manny: You know how my husband is, he'd forget his head if it wasn't attached
Manny and Emma laugh
Emma: Sounds like Sean at times
Emma said as her phone rings
Emma: Hello?
Sean: Hey beautiful
Emma: What's wrong? What happen?
Sean: Nothing's wrong, everything's fine, the baby's napping. I just thought I'd call and see if you're having fun and tell you I miss you
Emma looks at Manny whose browsing through the clothing racks
Emma: Actually, yes. I am. Thanks baby, for pushing me to get out with Manny.
Sean: I'm glad. You needed to get out, Emma.
Emma: We'll be home in a couple hours.
Sean: Take your time baby. Rose is going to stay at her Uncle Tracker's tonight
Emma (sadly): Oh, is she?
Sean: What's wrong, Em?
Emma: Nothing, it's nothing
Emma said with a sniffle
Sean: Baby-
Emma: I-I'll see you when I get home, I love you
Emma said as she hangs up, as Manny notices Emma upset
Manny: What's wrong, mama?
Emma: I think I need some air
Emma said as she walks out of the store, trying to hide her tears
Manny: Emma-
Manny said as she sets her items on the counter, and walks out after Emma
Manny (softly): What's wrong? Talk to me, Emma
Emma (sniffles): I don't even know why I got upset to begin with
Manny sits down next to Emma and puts her hand on Emma's back
Manny: What happen?
Emma: Sean's letting the baby stay over at Tracker's tonight
Manny: Honey, Tracker's your brother in law. It's not like he's a complete stranger.
Emma: I know, I know. It's dumb that I'm even upset over it, I know Sean's heart is in the right place.
Manny: Sean's worried about you Em, quite frankly, I am too
Emma: I was kidnapped and held from my family for almost a week by a psycho! So, excuse me for being on edge and emotional
Manny: Calm down Emma.
Emma (exhales): I'll be fine.
Emma said as she clenches her chest gasping
Manny: Emma, breathe. You're ok
Emma: I can't breathe
Manny: You're having a panic attack. It's ok.
After a few minutes, Emma begins to calms down
Emma: Manny-
Manny: You're ok, you're at the mall with me. Rose is at home with Sean
Manny said as she rubs Emma's back as she calm down
Emma (exhales): I'm ok now, I promise
Manny: Scared the hell out of me, for a minute there
Emma: Let's just finish shopping and go home, shall we?
Manny: Yea, come on
Manny takes Emma by the arm as they walk back in the store, a few minutes later, Manny pays for her items then they exit the store and head back to Emma's place
Manny: You sure you're ok Em?
Emma: Yea, I'll be ok.
Manny: If you feel a panic attack coming, I want you to call me, I don't care what time it is. Promise me
Emma: I will, I promise
A few minutes later, they pull up at Emma's house, as Manny shuts off the car and they head inside Emma's house
Manny (to Sean): Where's Rosie?
Sean: Taking a nap still
Emma: How long has she been asleep?
Sean: Maybe an hour and half
Sean said as he kisses Emma
Manny: Ok, ok. Sit down, both of you. I have a present for you guys
Emma and Sean sit down on the couch as Manny hands Sean a gift box
Sean: What's this for?
Manny: Just a little something from Chester and I
Sean opens the box to see two t-shirts
Emma: Didn't we just buy these at the mall?
Manny: Turn them over and read them
Sean: Upgraded to the best Uncle and god father
Emma: Upgraded to the best god mother and Aunt
Emma puts the shirt down and looks at Manny
Emma: Wait
Manny smiles big at Emma
Sean: You're-
Emma: Oh my god! You're pregnant!
Emma gets up and gives Manny a big hug
Sean: How far along are you?
Manny: 10 weeks
Emma: Oh, Manny. I'm so happy for you
Manny smiles as Emma and Sean congratulate her
Manny: Chester and I wanted to wait until I was 13 weeks to tell everyone, but we talked it over and figured you guys could use some good news
Manny said with a chuckle
Sean: Congratulations, Manny
Emma: If you have a girl, I'll totally give you Rose's old clothes that don't fit her.
Manny: You guys are the only ones who know.
Sean: I know you guys will be awesome parents, and you know we're always a call away if you guys need help
Manny smiles as she cradles her small baby bump, she reaches in her bag and grabs one more shirt and hands it to Emma
Manny: This one is for my favorite niece
Emma (laughs): She's your only niece
Sean: They always say good things come to those who wait
Manny: It still feels like a dream, ya know?
Sean hears Rose in the baby monitor
Sean: I'll get her
Sean gets up and heads upstairs to get Rose
Emma (to Manny): I'm so happy for you and Chester
Manny: If we have a boy, we're gonna name him after Chester's dad, Casey Matthew
Emma: I think that's a great way to honor Chester's dad
Manny: His mom was so happy when we told her
Emma: Oh, I'm sure. If we ever have another baby, and we have a boy, I think I'd name him after his daddy, Sean.
Sean begins coming down the stairs with Rose in his arms
Manny: There's auntie's baby
Rose begins babbling as Sean hands her to Manny
Manny: Hi baby. Auntie's got a secret to tell you
Rose looks around and babbles
Manny: You're going to be a big cousin
Rose looks at Manny and touches her cheek
Manny: I love you, too sweet girl
