Family Feud: Can Harmony Prevail in the Chaos?

Ch X: The Fashionista's Perspective

Lori came out of the therapist's office, she had never been this lively before. The 17-year-old girl always hated herself, and now she felt like a weight was lifted off her chest.

"Leni," Lori said. "Dr. Lopez wants to see you."

Leni stood up and happily headed into Dr. Lopez's office.

"Hi, Dr. Lopez!" Leni said, lounging down in one of the couch seats.

"Hello, you must be Leni Loud, yes?" Isabella asked.

"Yes, I am!" The 16-year-old smiled.

Dr. Isabella Julietta Lopez smiled at Leni Loud's liveliness, but later, a frown was already on her face. "Concerning present issues, why did you and your elder sister fight over a dress?"

Leni's smile turned upside down. "Well, when we saw this totes cute dress at the mall, we decided to buy one for ourselves. When we got home, Lori showed the dress to the other siblings, and that's where we started fighting. Our other sisters implemented the Sister Fight Protocol, and we had to exclude Lincoln from it."

Outside, Henry and Valerie were talking to the girls.

"Are you angry at us, Mr. and Mrs. E?" Luna said fearfully.

"No, we are not angry." Henry and Valerie said to her, bringing relief from her and her other sisters. "Because 'angry' DOESN'T DESCRIBE HOW WE FEEL TOWARDS YOU! WE'RE DISAPPOINTED!" The Emily parents yelled, making them flinch.

"YOU INVENTED A PROTOCOL, AND YOU JUST HAD TO EXCLUDE YOUR OWN BROTHER FROM IT?!" Henry yelled in front of them. "YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO SQUABBLE OVER TRIVIAL STUFF!"

"USING YOUR BROTHER'S FURNITURE?! WHOSE CRUMMY IDEA WAS THAT ANYWAYS?!" Valerie said to the girls, she was pissed off at this point.

The girls were getting what was coming for them, everyone is now turning against them and reprimanding them for the grave mistakes they have made, just like how they turned against their own brother.

The 30-year-old man from earlier, Jason, immediately intervened. "Sir! Ma'am! We would not tolerate further yelling in this place!"

Henry and Valerie simmered down a bit, they sat down in their seats but their hostilities were hot and flaming towards the girls.

The Loud sisters sat down, fearing what would happen next as they scooted closer to Lynn Sr. and Rita.

Back with Leni and Dr. Lopez, they were still having their therapy session.

"I see that you were worrying about your parents fearing you as well." Isabella said to Leni. "I assure you that they don't have any fear towards you girls, but they did say you are hard to take control on."

Leni giggled sheepishly. "We just wanted to resolve things on our own, and become independent. However, we didn't look through the possible benefits and flaws of our protocol system. We ended up subjecting our brother to a brutal beating…" She began forming tears in her eyes.

Isabella sympathized with her. "How is your life at home usually like, if your family is in high spirits?"

"Life at home is totes like a hurricane." Leni said, regaining her smile bit by bit. "Lincoln would read comics in his underwear, Luna would always cook up a new song, Lori is always on her phone (though she doesn't have a phone now since she broke it into pieces), Mom and Dad are either in the kitchen or in the living room talking to each other."

Isabella wrote down the key details in her notepad. "Away from the sad, dark-spirited stuff, can you tell me a bit about yourself?"

"I'm 16, and my birthday's next month." Leni smiled. "I may not be the brightest tool in the shed, but I'll do my best to make someone happy!"

Isabella smiled, jotting down Leni's key details. "Did you have any fond moments with your siblings?"

"Yes, I do!" Leni smiled. "It may not be often but we still spend some time with each other. There's this totes cute moment when Linky and my other sisters helped me earn my driver's license." She giggled sheepishly. "Though I failed and crashed our van too many times…"

"That's exactly what your elder sister told me." Isabella said to the 16-year-old. "Now regarding you and your brother's relationship, how is it like?"

"My brother and I have a nice relationship, he always crawls up to me for help and support." Leni looked away, as tears threatened to spill out of her eyes. "Though that is shattered now due to how we treated him during the time the Sister Fight Protocol was being implemented."

In the hospital…

Lincoln laid down in his hospital bed, Michael and his friends were paying him a visit.

"Gotta say, sitting in the hospital must be boring, isn't it?" Robert said to Lincoln.

Lincoln nodded in response. "I guess I can agree with that, being bed ridden for 1 more week before finally being free from this prison…" He touched his chest. "They put me in a chest tube, and hopefully, they managed to remove the broken rib."

"That's harsh." Stephanie glowered down at him. "Thanks for supporting me and my family when Dad died after that crash…"

"No problem, Steph." The 11-year-old Loud said to her, smiling a little.

"How would you like it if you would stay at our house—" Elijah was interrupted by Michael.

"Sorry, Eli, Lincoln decided that he bunking in with us." Michael said to his friend.

"It's fine…" The male teenager said, keeping his smile.

Back with Leni and Dr. Lopez…

"Do you have anything else to tell me, regarding your family?" Dr. Lopez asked the teenager.

"There's this one time when we fought each other for a mere quarter, Mom and Dad quickly intervened and broke up our fight, they punished us by making us clean the attic. While doing so, Dad told us to clean the back corner, and watch out for the loose floorboard, Linky accidentally steps on it and gets hit in the face."

Isabella nodded. "Continue."

Leni did as told. "He saw a note, and it turned out to be from this woman named Sharon DeMonet, who was the former owner of our house, and we came to see the note. Lori disbelieves him and tells him that he won't get out of cleaning the attic, he steps on another loose floorboard, stunning him. We seized the opportunity to get away and find the treasure that Sharon DeMonet had left for us."

Dr. Lopez wrote down every key detail. "I think you have Down syndrome and ADHD."

"What are they?" Leni asked.

"Down syndrome is also known as trisomy 21, it is a copy of chromosome 21 and is more common in females, just like you. Its symptoms are mild to moderate intellectual disability, delayed development, and characteristic facial features. ADHD is known as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, it is a disorder where you are hyperactive and have trouble multitasking or managing your time." The therapist explained to the fashionista.

"Oh, I see!" She smiled. "Are we done here?"

"Yes, we are, for now, I would like to speak with your brother," She crossed Leni off. "Lincoln Loud, on the phone." She said as she pulled up her telephone and pressed the numbers on its keypad to dial a certain Loud boy.

To be continued in Ch XI…

A/N: Hello readers, I know some of you may think that Leni is dumb or has air in her head, but to me, I think she's dealing with Down syndrome and ADHD, for some who don't know those two, I made it clear in this chapter.

Lincoln may be in the hospital, but Dr. Lopez will talk to him through the phone. I couldn't imagine Lincoln's session with Dr. Lopez, Michael and his friends will listen too.

That's all I'll tell you, and peace out.
