Chapter 11

The three of them were walking around the town, looking at everything, Johanna was talking about the history of the town, Lucas had to admit that he was quite calm and quiet, he was enjoying every second of it, but soon his expression changed when he felt his instincts warning him of danger.

Lucas began to look for where this feeling was coming from, but soon he saw the schoolgirl flying over the house on a stick, and realizing that she had noticed him, he began to walk away.

"I have to follow her" [Thought] Lucas thought worriedly.

"Lucas, is everything all right?" Hilda asked, seeing his worried look.

"That girl was here watching us," Lucas replied, still looking in the direction he had gone.

As he said this, both Hilda and Johanna were a little taken aback, but remembered that Lucas was here to protect them.

"What are we going to do?" Johanna asks.

"You go ahead, while I see what she's doing," Lucas replied, handing the raven to Hilda.

"Please be careful," Hilda says a little worriedly.

Lucas smiles and starts to run to where she's gone. He leaves a partial transformation of his eyes and nose, and soon manages to find her trail and sees her on top of one of the houses. Realizing that there aren't many people around, he takes off his shoes and starts to transform his hands and feet so that he can climb.

"I just hope everything turns out all right" [Thought] Lucas thought with a slight worry.

He soon began to climb the house, making sure that no one saw him. When he reached the top, he saw that Rebecca was already there, holding the stick.

"I knew you'd come," Rebecca said, looking at him seriously.

"So you wanted to talk to me?" Lucas asks intrigued.

"Yes, let's be serious, both of us knowing what we are, why don't we have a little chat?" Rebecca asked, offering a solution.

"All right, but I'll tell you right now that I don't remember anything about my life, I swapped my memories for an ability," Lucas explained to the girl.

"Really, you don't regret it?" Rebecca asked intrigued.

"I don't love my new life, so you want to be my ally?" Lucas replies and asks a question.

"Yes, we don't know what the others are like, so we won't be alone in a fight" Rebecca explains her idea.

"That sounds like a good idea," Lucas replies, remembering the attack he survived.

Then Lucas begins to explain his fight with the being before coming to the city and also explains his abilities, and after Rebecca leaves the fuse, she also begins to explain her abilities.

Lucas didn't remember the show where this ability came from but he was still curious about it, so she explained that her cat was actually a palisman, a sentient magical totem that sits atop a magical staff, harboring various magical properties, including the ability to switch between living and wooden forms at will as well as a powerful tool for channeling and amplifying its user's magic and a method of flying transportation when in its wooden staff form.

"Wow, that looks pretty useful," Lucas exclaims with surprise.

"Yes, quite a lot, but Ghost is also my best friend," Rebecca says, petting the cat on her shoulder. "But his abilities are also quite envious, and he can be transformed into a manticore."

"So what are your witchy abilities?" Lucas asks intrigued.

"Well, when I made that wish, I didn't really explain what kind I wanted, I just said that I wanted to be a witch who could be skilled in more than one kind of magic," Rebecca explained, "but I realized that I'm very good at abomination, oracle, plant and illusion magic."

"Four different types of magic, that's quite an arsenal," Lucas said.

Lucas stared at her for a while, worried that there would be another being like her, wondering how to fight this kind of being, knowing that he had almost not come out alive from his last confrontation.

"Can I make a request, if it's not too much trouble?" Lucas asks.

"I think so, if it's not too difficult," Rebecca replies.

"Can we have a one-on-one confrontation?" Lucas asked and then explained, "Just so I can see how being another magic user looks, and that might be good for you too."

Rebecca was silent for a while thinking about this proposal, she knew she would have to fight to survive but she was also scared of being hurt.

"Okay, I accept, let's get out of town first," Rebecca said confidently.

"Right, let's make a quick start so we can see the rest of the parade," Lucas said.

Soon the two of them began to leave the city in their own way, her flying with her staff and him running on top of the houses with his transformed limbs, it took them about five minutes to get out of the city, and after getting some distance the two of them got ready.

"Let's see what you can do," Lucas said, smiling with excitement.

As Lucas began to run towards her, he noticed that her eyes began to glow green, then a strong scent of trees and plants sprang up everywhere, looking to the sides he saw several vines and vines growing everywhere, noticing this he jumped to get some distance.

He began to increase the transformation in his hands and feet and soon allowed his scorpion tail to appear, getting into his room and preparing to run.

The two of them stare at each other for a while until Lucas begins to run towards her again, realizing this Rebecca begins to run towards him to attack and tie him up Lucas tries to dodge everything but manages to get a few cuts on his body, realizing that he is coming she moves away using her staff to give him a boost, Lucas notices a change in his eyes the right one begins to glow purple, soon two beings similar to a golem typically made of a purple substance similar to an ooze, they soon begin to run towards him transforming their hands into blades.

"Wow, this is getting complicated, I have to use all my senses to dodge, it's getting harder and harder" [Thought] Lucas thought smiling excitedly, he was enjoying the fight.

Rebecca sent the two golems towards Lucas to pin him down, she didn't want to hurt him but she had to be careful with his syrup knowing about the paralyzing poison, she knew she had to keep her distance so as not to be pierced but using two different types of magic was killing her.

Lucas starts to increase his speed so that he can get to her, dodging the vines and stopping in front of one of the golems, he quickly crouches down and quickly jumps up and spins around, kicking the golem in the head with all his might, which flies off, hitting the head of the other golem, causing both heads to explode, seeing this Lucas starts to run towards Rebecca, realizing this she undoes the golems and concentrates on the plant magic.

Lucas realizes this and smiles, "Looks like she'll only be concentrating on one type for now."

Soon he notices some vines gathering to get stronger and form the appearance of a hand to grab him, looking all around him, smiling he runs with everything up when he was about to be shocked by the vines he throws himself down to dodge everything.

Rebecca, realizing this, tries to get further away and too late Lucas is already two arms lengths away from her, realizing this he tries to hit her with his tail, but by bad luck or luck for another she ends up tripping and falling, thus avoiding the attack.

"Damn, I have to be quick" [Thought] Rebecca was thinking fast.

Rebecca ends up smiling and having an idea, she quickly draws a magic circle in the air with her fingers, launching a storm of smoke all over the area, Lucas moves away as soon as two fireballs come out of the smoke, going straight for his chest, he jumps to get out of the way as soon as he sees Rebecca coming out of the smoke and going at him with the glowing staff.

"You've decided to come out on top, haven't you?" Lucas says, smiling.

Giving an impulse, he confronts her just as her fist collides with the staff, and she disappears in a small explosion of smoke. This shocks Lucas a little, as he knows what kind of magic this is. He quickly concentrates so that he can see where she is, then rushes to her side and throws a bolt of energy in his direction, putting his arm in front of his face to stop the attack on his face.

He was thrown back hard, feeling his whole body tingle and numb, tasting iron and smoke, his arms had second-degree burns, but he also realized that she wasn't doing very well, breathing hard and completely drenched in sweat. The two stared at each other for a while until they relaxed, Lucas undid the transformation while the staff returned to its cat form.

"I have to say, that was intense," Lucas said, letting out a sigh of relief.

"That was quite interesting, so we know more about what we're capable of," Rebecca said bluntly.

"That's true, I have to improve my attacks and dodges" Lucas says, seeing the mistakes in his attacks.

"I have to improve my magic throws, and use more than one type, but that was very enlightening," Rebecca said smiling, still excited by the fight.

Soon the two of them started back towards the city, realizing that it was already quite dark without knowing that there were six eyes watching everything that was going on.

"That was interesting/They're dangerous/They could be a threat" The being comes out of his hiding place, seeing that the sun is already setting.

Now visible was a nine-meter-tall, three-headed troll, still staring and the two of them left.

"What should we do?/I think we'd better attack them/We should find out more about them" The troll asked and talked to its heads "For now, let's wait and see what happens" The middle head said.

Soon the being began to walk back into the mountain, enjoying the air outside and the clear sky with stars. As soon as the two of them entered the city, they separated so that they could each go to their families.

"At least now I've got an ally, so things will be easier" [Thought] Lucas thought and snapped out of his thoughts when he saw the big bird giving its entrance "I see Hilda has taken care of everything" [Thought]Lucas thought happily
