Military Base
Jamey had just transformed into a monstrous beast that calls itself Hulk. Savage looked at her in astonishment. "Jamey!? Is that you?" All Hulk did was growl while looking at Savage. Hulk charged at him and smacked Savage to a wall severely injuring him. Savage's scientist spy watched in horror at what happened. She ran and pulled an alarm, in a matter of seconds a small army of soldiers came charging in and began firing. The bullets bounced off the Hulk's skin and seemed to make the beast more angry. Hulk charged at the soldiers, she grabbed two of the soldiers and crushed their skulls, more soldiers came in and began firing. Hulk roared charging at them and proceeded to tear them apart. Savage's spy ran to her. "Don't worry master. I'll get you the help you need."
Retroville, Jamey's Lab
The team had just recovered from the L.O.S.E.R.S. attack. "Are you okay?" Nick said as she rambed into Sid giving a hug. "Ya." Sid smiled back at his girlfriend. But Sid did not have time to enjoy it cause Nick was smacking Sid lightly in the arm so she didn't herself. "Then can you guys please explain everything! Why are you working for Jamey Neutron!?" Elky walked up to Carl and placed a hand on his arm. "You know I would also like to know that. I know you partially explained Carl but I want the full story." Sheen looked at his best friend a little betrayed. "You told her everything Carl!" Sheen cried with his jaw dropped. "I didn't have a choice. That Monica girl attacked it was this whole thing." Nick turned back to her boyfriend. "I'm waiting for an explanation. Why are you guys working for that Mad Scientist?" But Sid was very defensive of Jamey. He would hear enough bad things from his mom and from the protesters he was not going to sit back and let Jamey be bad-mouthed any more. "First thing. She isn't a Mad Scientist. And second, it's a very long and complicated story." Nick and Elky stood side by side. "We're listening." Nick said to her boyfriend.
Military Base
The Hulk continued to tear through the base. One Soldier tryed to sound brave as he spoke. "We Need To Call For Backup!" The other Soldier was completely panicked. "Who On Earth Do We Call!?" The Hulk charged at the soldiers smashing them through a wall. Hulk continued to run straight through the walls of the base eventually ending up outside. Hulk roared and began to run building up speed, he then began to leap incredible distances heading straight for Retroville.
Jamey's Lab
Sid began telling Nick and Elky the story. "Four years ago my father General Sam Vortex hired Jamey to build a machine to harness the energy of a meteorite." Sheen stepped in. "Skip three years, the machine was finished. The General had the brilliant idea of turning the machine on against Jamey's suggestions." It was Libby's turn to take over. "An energy wave hit Retroville causing untold destruction. It also had an unintended effect." Now it was Carl's turn. "It caused a small percentage of the human race to develop powers." Sid grabbed Nick by the hand. "After I got my powers, my Dad assigned Jamey and I with a mission to stop potential mutant threats." Nick was angry at this. "And knowing what Jamey had done you still worked for her?" Sid sighed. "She was the best option in a bad situation." Elky was confused by what Sid said. "What do you mean?"
"The military base was in bad shape, the RPD was no better and Jamey was basically the only one with the technology that was needed. I may not have liked it but Jamey Neutron was the best we had." Sid explained. "As Jamey and Sid were taking down mutant criminals they met us." Sheen added and Libby continued. "Sid discovered I had powers and convinced me to start helping. To be honest I didn't want anything to do with this but something inside me told me to help." Carl was hesitant to say his part. "After a while Sid and Libby met me under some let's say bad circumstances." Elky was now very worried. "What kind of bad circumstances?" Carl took a deep breath. "I tried to kill someone." Elky looked wide eyed at her boyfriend. "What!?" Carl's voice was now shaking. "I had faced so much torment from these bullies at school that I got angry, so angry that when I got my powers I tried to kill some of them. Libby managed to talk some sense into me and since then I've been doing good." Carl walked up to Elky. "Are you mad at me?" Carl asked, wondering if he just lost his girlfriend. "I can't say I'm particularly pleased but you're making up for your mistakes." She answered not being able to look Carl in the eye at the moment. "After a few adventures they met me. I was working for a crime boss to pay off my Father's loans. The team convinced me to find another way and we took that crime boss down." Sheen continued with the story.
"Is that everything?" Nick asked, frustrated. "You would think that but no." Sheen said in a deadpan tone. "The rest of us discovered what really happened a little while later and we were not happy." Libby added remembering how she practically just gave up on Jamey and felt so ashamed because of that. "We were furious, but we came to understand it wasn't completely Neutron's fault." Sid finishes with conviction in his voice. Sid then grabbed Nick's hands. "Nick I know your Dad got hurt during the explosion but you need to understand sometimes when bad things happen it's nobody's fault, somethings are just beyond our control." Sid said try to wash his girlfriend. "Really? Did your Dad tell you that?" Nick bit back. Did was taken off guard by the comment he released her hand. "That was a low blow." With her now free hand she becgan to wipe tears from her face. "So was discovering the guy you really like is working with a murderer." Nick stormed out of the lab. Sid looked on with a saddened face. "What about you?" Carl asked nervously. "I just need some time to process this. Also I don't think Nick should be alone right now. I'll talk to her." Elky said to both Sid and Carl before she walked off too. "Do you think those two will be okay?" Sheen asked Libby. "It's hard to say."
Libby walked towards them. But they all noticed Jamey's big screen had uploaded a file that was starting to play on its own. The four looked at it and saw the video Goddard recorded but the video was recording Jamey looking at a hologram of a machine that she confirmed to be the chamber and they could hear her say that it had been tampered with. "So this is what she has been up to all day." Sheen asked. They continued to watch as Goddard had switched to video to record Jamey typing on a computer and saw that she was watching something on the screen she was working on. The four could barely make it out but they coud tell that she was watching someone mess with a machine they all assumed to be the chamber. They saw that Goddard had backed away when they heard someone call out Jamey's name all they could see was that Jamey was now talking to a shadow figure, but no one could tell who it was. Everyone was quickly drawn towards a flash of metal that belonged to a gun the shadow was holding. "What is this?" Sid asked, confused. "I don't know?" Sheen answered. They could hear the conversation but they only identification that they could get on the mystery man was the name Savage. Then all went silent when they heard a gunshot and the image of Jamey becoming closershe was still. Too stil. Was she dead? That's where the video ended. Everyone was in tears not wanting to believe what they had just watched. She can't be gone. Sid was upset. No. He was angry. After everything they all had been through after everything she had been through it can not end like this.
Libby suddenly remembered the four who attacked them and realized that they might be connected to this video. "Guys, I think we've gotten a bit off track. They're are four super criminals on the loose. And they might know more about what happened to Jamey." Sheen could not believe this he just watched his friend be shot and she wanted to find criminals who probably werent; responsible since they were here with them and not with Jamey. "What do you mean? About what might have happened? She's dead Libby. Gone!" Sid seemed to snap out of his brooding. "Libby's right. Suit up!" Sid yelled, getting everyone's attention. This can't be real. He kept thinking to himself.
Retroville
The Hulk finally arrived at Retroville. She walked into the city and made it to a gas station, she looked at a window and she saw her reflection. Suddenly her reflection began speaking to her. "Jamey something has happened to you. You need to calm down and clear your head." Her reflection spoke to her. "Clear...Head." Her reflection spoke again. "Yes. Breath in and out." Her reflection smiled back. "In...and out." Hulk's head began to clear, she began to remember who she was when suddenly a woman walking by noticed her. "AHHH! MONSTER!" Hulk looked at her scared, the nearby patrol car noticed and two cops got out of the car and aimed their weapons at Hulk. "What the hell is that!" One of the cops screamed out. "One of those mutant freaks! Light her up!" The cops began to shoot at Hulk, which began to enrage her more. She charged at one of the cops and kicked him into his patrol car so hard the car went flying with him. The other cop kept firing her weapon at Hulk's head, angering her even more. Hulk grabbed her and tossed her into one of the fuel pumps inadvertently causing an explosion. The woman who first saw Hulk pulled out her phone and started to record herself. "Anyone who sees this. Please call the N-Men! Call anybody!" Hulk came out of the flames unscratched, she turned around and noticed the woman. "NO! PLEASE! DON'T!" Hulk grabbed the woman and crushed her. Sid as Special Guy was flying through the sky trying not to cry as the loss of Jamey. "Guys I don't see any sign of them." Special Guy called on his coms. Sheen as the Flash was racing around the city was breathing heavily but not because of the running. "Special Guy's right. I've searched the city three times already. Wherever they're hiding, it's really good." Flash told the group. "How are we contacting Jamey?" Special Guy asked Libby a little forcably. "Carl and I have tried everything to contact her. She's not answering." Special Guy huffed he was not going to give up that easily. "Just keep trying, no way that video could be real." Special Guys flew off and continued his search when he noticed the explosion. "What the..!?" He flew towards it and noticed the Hulk. More cops had arrived and began firing at the Hulk, the Hulk retaliated by grabbing one of their cruisers and smashing most of them with it. Hulk looked around and saw the last of the officers, he roared and charged straight for him. Before he could reach the man, Special Guy flew in and sent her flying into a building with a single punch." Sorry ugly. Your reign of terror is over." Hulk came out of the building enraged. "LEAVE HULK ALONE!"
"I'll get right on that as soon as you stop killing people." Special Guy hollered back at the beast. Special Guy charged at her and threw a punch but Hulk managed to catch his fist. Hulk threw her own punch which sent Special Guy flying through several buildings. Special Guy got up a bit dazed. "She's a strong one." Special Guy looked up and saw Hulk falling from the sky landing right in front of him. "Blonde boy hurt Hulk! Hulk smash Blonde boy!" Hulk grabbed Special Guy's leg and began repeatedly smashing him into the ground before throwing him into a building. Hulk charged at him again but was stopped by a force field bubble. "I don't think so pal! Are you okay?" Invisister said trying to stop her. "A little worse for wear but I'll be fine. How did you know about this?" Libby cried back. "The lab got an alert. Carl and Sheen will be here any minute." Hulk began to hit the force field. "Do you think you can hold her?" Hulk hit the force field again causing a massive headache to form in Libby's head. "Ahh! Not...Sure!" Hulk kept hitting the force field causing Invisister more and more pain. Eventually Hulk smashed out of the bubble, Invisister fell to the ground in exhaustion. Hulk leaped into the air and went in to attack her. Invisister protected herself by quickly creating a force field dome. Hulk continuously attacked the dome with punches so powerful they were creating shockwaves that broke the ground apart. Invisister Struggled to maintain the dome, with one final attack Hulk destroyed the shield knocking her out. Hulk went in to attack her again. Special Guy was still too hurt to help her in time. "Noo!" Special guy screamed towards his fallen friend. Flash raced in and moved Invisister out of the way.
"What the heck is going on!?" Flash asked. "This monster chick just showed up and started tearing up the town!" Special Guy answered as Flash saw Libby out for the count. "And you and Libby couldn't take her down!?" Flash asked worriedly. "This girl hits harder than Stone." Hulk roared and continued her rampage. Hulk saw a mirror and saw Jamey again and her reflection tried to shape her out of her rage. "Jamey, you have to calm down. You're fighting your friends." Hulk asked, confused. "Friends." Flash raced in and struck Hulk in the face which re-angered the monster. "Oww! What's this guy made of? I'm going to need to hit her with something a little harder than my hand." Flash raced off and went to a construction site on the other side of town, he went to one of the workers and grabbed his sledgehammer. "Sorry, I need this to save the city, bye!" Flash raced off back to the battle. Flash built up his speed moving straight for Hulk, when he reached the beast he struck her right in the face with the sledgehammer which sent Hulk down. Hulk immediately got back up furious. Flash did the same move again striking Hulk down again, when Hulk got back up, Flash struck him down again and again and again, he hit Hulk with the hammer so many times that the tool completely worn out. Flash looked at Hulk and how she was completely unfazed by the assault. "Okay, attacking this girl physically is useless. Time for a change in strategy." Flash ran around Hulk creating a tornado, Hulk began to lift off the ground, she grabbed her neck as the air around her was being sucked up. Hulk clapped her hands together creating a shockwave that sent Flash flying into a car. Just as Flash was getting up Hulk rushed at him punching him into a building. "LEAVE HULK ALONE!"
Candy Bar
Nick and Elky went to the Candy Bar to talk about everything that happened. "So what are you going to do?" Elky asked the brooding girl. "What do you mean?" Nick asked, acting like she didn't know what the other girl was talking about. "About Sid. Are you going to stay with him or move on?" Nick let out a sigh as she messed with the straw in her shake. "I don't know. Today has been very...long." Elky let out a breath in agreement. "You can say that again." Nick then turned to Elky. "And you? What are you going to do about Carl?" Elky went tight lipped. "Well I did find out he attempted to murder someone, so ya. I have a lot to think about as well." On the T.V. an emergency broadcast was showing. "Sam! Turn that up!" Someone yelled. Sam did so. Nick and Elky looked up at the broadcast. "Trisha Thompson here. The city is under attack by a monstrous beast. Despite their best efforts the N-Men haven't been able to stop it. Will our heroes be able to pull through or is this Retroville's last hour?" Elky and Nick looked at each other in horror.
Hulk picked Flash up and prepared to crush him but was blasted back by one of Echo's sonic blasts. "What took you so long?" Flash yelled to Echo in an annoyed grunt. But Echo was panting so it took a few moments that they did not have to waste before he could give an understandable answer through his heaving breaths. "I'm sorry if I can't move at superspeed or fly!" Then Flash asked him something he has been thinking about ever since Carl's first date with Ekly.. "Have you even tried to fly!?" Echo thought for a moment. "No, I just assumed…" Flash just rolled his eyes thinking really.
Hulk roared charging straight for the heroes. "One sec." Echo fired a powerful sonic blast that sent Hulk through multiple buildings, Hulk quickly rebounded leaping back into action, Echo fired another blast which sent the beast back again. Hulk charged at Echo again, Echo fired another sonic attack but this time Hulk wasn't sent back, Echo increased the decibels of his attack but Hulk continued to push through, Echo pushed himself further but Hulk kept charging further, she eventually got to Echo and grabbed his arms and crushed them. "Ahhhh!" Echo screamed as Hulk tossed him aside and began to pound her chest. "Stupid people try to hurt Hulk but Hulk is strong!" Special Guy had had enough, he got up. "That's it! Let's end this." Special Guy flew towards the Hulk at incredible speeds and tackled her straight through multiple buildings and into the ground. Hulk threw Special Guy into a building, Special Guy immediately flew out of it, Hulk picked up and threw a car at Special Guy, he caught it and smashed Hulk into the ground with it. Hulk launched off the ground and tackled Special Guy into a building, Special Guy broke out of her grip and punched her several times in the face. Special Guy then grabbed Hulk's arm and threw her into the sky. Hulk flew across the sky and landed at Retroville High School. Special Guy flew straight into him pushing Hulk further into the building, Hulk punched Special Guy back into the street, Hulk jumped out of the building. The two began an epic struggle, Hulk punched Special Guy in the face, Special Guy punched Hulk in the face. Special Guy threw another punch Hulk caught it and punched Special Guy to the ground creating a massive shockwave. Hulk didn't stop; she continued to attack Special Guy, repeatedly beating him to the ground. Hulk stopped and looked at the beaten Special Guy and recognized him. "Sid?" Hulk looked in shock at what she had done. Flash raced in and looked at Special Guy.
"Oh no!" Flash said before looking back at the orange monster. Hulk began to shrink, turning back to her human form revealing herself to an entire crowd of people and Flash. "Jamey?" Flash was beyond confused how did Jamey become that thing? "W-What happened? What did I do?" Jamey asked scared, confused, and worried at what she might have and did do. Before Flash could tell Jamey the army arrived. "Jamey Ismey Neutron you are under arrest!" A soldier shouted pointing a gun at Jamey. She raised her hands over her head, still very confused. "What's going on?" The soldiers drew closer to Jamey but Flash raced in between them. "Wait guys, we don't know what caused this accident to happen but aiming weapons at the one who caused this much destruction doesn't seem like a good idea." Flash tried to explain, but no one was going to listen. "I'm sorry Flash, Miss Neutron is wanted for mass murder we have to take her in." Worried for his friends, Flash changed topics. "What about the others?" Flash demanded. "They're already on route to the base." Jamey placed a hand on Flash to ease him. "Flash, it's okay." The soldiers put a collar on Jamey and took her into custody, they also picked Special Guy up and took him away as well. "What the hell is going on?" Flash asked himself but he knew he just had to find out.
Undisclosed Location
The L.O.S.E.R.S. were brought into a medical room and met with Savage's scientist spy Martha. "Who are you and where is the boss?" Inferno demanded. "He's indisposed at the moment." Martha answered vaguely. "We want to see him now." Force insisted. "It's okay Martha." They heard Savage say in a thin weak voice. Martha pulled out the curtain and saw Savage with one arm, no legs and plugged into many machines. "What happened to him?" Inferno asked, a little anxious. He did not sign up for this. "Jamey Neutron happened." Savage told them. "That Egghead's tougher than she looks." Force said with a dry chuckle. "No jokes, there is still work to do." Savage demaned.
Military Base
Jamey was dragged into the base, all the surviving people looked at her in disgust. Goddard ran to her master, the soldiers pulled out their weapons to defend themselves. "No! Don't hurt him!" Jamey screamed. Sheen ran interference. "Why don't we put the guns down before someone does something they regret." The soldiers hesitated for a moment but eventually put their weapons down. "Thanks." Jamey gave a weary smile. "No problem, but we are going to need to talk." Jamey nodded and continued to be taken away by the soldiers. Sheen looked on at his friends being taken into the base on stretchers.
At that moment a few cars drove in, and from them the parents of the N-Men emerged. Sid's mother Susan got out of her car, Libby's parents Victor and Francine soon followed, Sheen's father Roberto ran out his truck and Judy and Martha ran out of their van. "Is this the place?" Judy asked, trying to remember the directions since it was not the same place from when they first took Jamey when the General hired her. "Ya, I think it is." Martha answered her wife. The two went towards Roberto. "I'm sorry but do you know why we were called here?" Judy asked the man. "Sorry, but I don't know." Roberto then noticed his son. "Sheen!? What are you doing here?" When Sheen saw his dad and the other parents he knew that things were about to get really messy. "I'll explain everything later." Sheen told them before running off. At that moment the N-Men were being wheeled into the base. The parents recognised their children and ran straight for the injured heroes but were stopped by some soldiers. The other adults turned to see Susan shouting at a guard. "Please you have to let me see my baby!" The soldier did not even flinch. "I'm sorry ma'am but you're not authorized." But Susan was not having any of this. "I'm the General's wife. The General as in your boss." Still the soldier did not flinch. "I'm sorry ma'am I still can't let you in." Susan got in the soldier's face and she was not going to stop till she saw her son. "Then tell me where my husband is!?" That question however did cause the soldier to waver with concern and Susan saw it no matter how brief it was. "I would ma'am but no one knows where he is at the moment." Susan stared wide eyed at the man. "What?"
At that moment Nick and Elky drove to the base, they quickly got out of the car. "Where are they!? Is Sid okay!" Nick demanded to see his boyfriend. Nick saw the heroes being taken into the base and ran straight for them but was stopped by the soldier. "You have to let us through!" NIck tried again. "Step away from the injured." The soldier ordered. "Please!" Elky begged, wanting to see Carl. "I'm not going to tell you again! Step away from the injured." Sheen walked up to them. "Everyone follow me right now, I'll explain everything." Everyone looked at Sheen concerned but agreed to go with him and let him explain.
Jamey was eventually brought into a cell. "Enjoy your time here, Neutron. You're not leaving here anytime soon." The guard said tauntingly. Jamey began to think to herself. "What happened? I met with the General when-" Jamey began to remember everything; she remembered Savage's confession, she remembered the intense emotions she felt, she remembered transforming into the beast, she remembered attacking the city, and she remembered attacking her friends. "So that's what happened? Hey! Hey!" The guard that had just taunted her looked back at Jamey confused. "What!" Jamey repeated herself. "Do you know where General Vortex is?" The guard hesitated for a moment. "That's confidential." But Jamey knew what that really meant. "In other words you don't know. Which means he must have survived. That or they haven't found his body yet. Either way Savage had followers who could continue his work. I must get out of here."
In the med bay of the base Sid, Carl, and Libby were being taken care of. Sheen, the N-Men's parents, Nick and Elky were in a waiting room.
"Alright Sheen, can you please tell us what the heck is going on." Roberto demands his son. "Fine but all of you have to keep your cool. For those of you who don't know, your son and daughters are a part of the superhero team the N-Men." Sheen waited for the backlash of the knews to sink in. "Those kids from the news." Martha shouts. "The very same." Sheen nodded. Roberto was very shocked. "Sheen, how could you keep this from your family?" Sheen fitteled with his hands before looking out at his father. "Technically I did tell my family Dad. Abuela, Nate, Ricardo, and Gracia all know about my powers." Roberto could not believe his ears. "How could my own mother keep this a secret!?" Sheen tried to calm his father down. "I think she was just waiting for me to tell you when I was ready." Judy gently grabbed Sheen's arm to turn him to face her. "How long has Carl been doing this?" Sheen gave a sigh before looking the woman in the eyes. "Longer than me."
"Sheen, what happened? How did my baby get hurt?" Susan asked. "I'm not exactly clear on the details but from what I saw Jamey's mutation finally activated and she turned into a monstrous beast that tore the city apart." Susan was fuming. "I knew that girl would cause my son nothing but trouble!" Libby's father stepped in. "Where is she! When I get my hands." Sheen was now trying to calm down Susan and Victor with the help of everyone else. "I'm sorry for what has happened sir, but will you all please calm down. Getting in a rage won't help anyone." Despite still being understandibly angry the parents of the N-Men managed to calm themselves down. "Sheen was it. Are our children going to be okay?" Libby's mother asked. "I'll go check on them." Sheen said before Judy ran up to him. "Wait. Can we come with you?" Sheen looked back to all of the adults and shook his head sadly. "Sorry, none of you are authorized." Sheen walked in and spoke with one of the doctors. "How are they doing sir?" The Doctor looked at him. "Mr. Wheezer has two broken arms, Miss Folfax is currently fine, she is just nursing off a headache, and Mr. Vortex...well he's currently in critical condition." Sheen cringed at the damage his friends endorsed, but he needed a black and white answer. "How bad is it?" The Doctor answered him. "He has three broken ribs, a broken arm, a fractured skull, and several ruptured organs." Sheen forced himeself to let out the breath he had been holding. "Will he make it?" Doctor tried to avoid making eye contact, even though he had good news things could always turn south. "Thankfully thanks to his mutant abilities, he is recovering at a remarkable rate. I can't say for sure if he'll be okay but I'm hopeful." Sheen smiled at the Doctor before running off. "Thanks Doc."
While waiting for Sheen everyone began talking. Judy and Martha were speaking with Roberto. "I can't believe Carl's been keeping a whole other life. I thought Jamey agreed with us to keep him from all of this and when she found out he had powers she should have told us." Martha was trying to calm her wife. "Next we'll hear he has a girlfriend we don't know about." Elky walked up to them. "About that. Hi Mrs. Wheezer, I'm Carl's girlfriend, Elky." Judy and Martha looked at Elky completely shocked. "If I may ask, how long have the two of you been...seeing each other." Martha asked, trying to keep her cool. "A few weeks." Judy looked at the girl and admitted that she was very pretty. Until she was pulled out of her thoughts by marths wailing. "I can't believe this! Carl used to tell us everything, now he's some vigilante, he has a girlfriend, and now he's fighting for his life in a military med bay. I've failed as a parent!" Judy went to comfort her wife. "Don't say that love. We will find out what happened when Carl wakes up. And we will figure out what happened to Jamey as well."
Susan went to go sit with Nick. "So how long have you known?" Susan asked Nick. "I knew about the Special Guy thing a while ago but the Jamey twist I just found out." Susan wanted to comfort the girl who made her son happy and if she was being honest when Sid told that he was dating a girl and it wasn't Jamey. Still not liking the girl. "It must have been hard for you. Sid told me your father got injured during the event." Nick nodded. "Ya it is. And now Neutron has hurt someone else I care about. How could you stand him working with her?" Susan let a tight lipped moment pass before answering. "I'm not going to lie to you Nick, I didn't and I still don't like it but Sid has always been a smart, independent boy, he's always gone his own way and for the most part I've trusted his judgment. If he trusts Jamey then he must have a good reason."
Nick nodded in agreement with Susan. At that moment Sheen walked back into the room, Elky and Nick walked over to face him. "Will they be okay!?" Elky asked frantically. "The doctors are hopeful." Sheen said he placed his hands on his best firend's girlfriend's shoulders. "When I get my hands on Neutron, I'll-" Nick grunted. Sheen tried to talk the other girl down. "What? Scream helplessly as your torn limb from limb." Elky saw the tension and tried to change the topic back to the others. "Can't you put them in one of those healing tubes." Sheen looked back at Elky. "You mean the Regeneration Pod. Both pods are offline right now." Elky was beginning to panic again. "How?" Sheen let out a frustrated breath hating to have to go back and forth trying to calm the two sideline girlfriends down from the edge. Sid and Sheen owed him so much once they were well again. "When you let off the EMP in the lab it damaged the pod there. And the one here was damaged from Jamey's attack." Nick began moving frantically. "I can't believe that bastard did this!" Sheen held out his hand to stop Nick. "It's more complicated than that." Elky was confused. "What do you mean?" Nick demanded. "Jamey was clearly not in control of herself. Something must've triggered her mutation. I'm going to go find out what." Sheen explained. "What are we supposed to do?" Nick asked, frustrated. "You two stay here. Explain the situation to the rents, I'll be back in a while."
Sheen walked off. At another part of the base Jamey was in a cell trying to figure out how she was going to escape. At that moment Sheen walked in. "Hey Dude." Jamey was happy to see her friend but was worried for the others. "Sheen what are you doing here?" Sheen was not in a happy mood; he needed to know everything. Why did she attack? How did she turn into the thing? Was she still on their side? "I came to get answers. First you disappear to do who knows what, then you become some unstoppable monster and tear the city apart. What happened?" Sheen said forcibly. "This is going to be a hard pill to swallow but I guess I'll tell you. With most of the suspected mutants contained I decided to investigate what went wrong with the Neutron Chamber." Sheen eased up a bit but was still on edge. "What did you find?" Jamey looked him in the eyes so he would know she was telling the truth and said. "I found out that someone sabotaged it."
Sheen gave Jamey a shocked expression. "Ya, that's what I thought. I hacked into the security footage and found someone deleted the files before the system went offline." Sheen needed to know. "Who did it?" Jamey just shook her head unsure if she even possessed the information and it was just lost or if she never knew it to begin with. "I don't know who did it but they were good. I almost didn't get what I needed." Sheen asked. "And what did you get?" Jamey paused for a moment before letting out a shaky breath. "The person who tampered with the chamber was General Vortex." Sheen looked at Jamey completely shocked as she held back bitter tears of frustration. "He completely fooled me. He used my humanity against me. He tricked me into taking the blame for him." She spat out as her eyes glowed green and her veins began to bulge. Sheen quickly noticed this. "Jamey, you need to chill. I think anger might turn you into that monster again." Jamey began to breathe in and out, calming herself down. "Thanks." Jamey said as her voice betrayed the enease she was feeling. "No problem. So how did you turn into that monster?" Sheen needed to know so he could convince everyone that it wasn't Jamey's fault. "As I found out what happened, the General or as he likes to call himself Savage came to me. He told me he's some immortal psychopath who wants something." Sheen heard the name Savage and remembered the video but he chose not to tell Jamey of it. "What kind of something?" Jamey just shook her head as she passed around in her cell. "I don't know. But he wanted it bad enough to shoot me in the head, that's what catalyzed my mutation." Sheen realized that the video they had seen was real, making all of this that much more disturbing. "Whoa! How are we going to find out what he wants?" Sheen knew that whatever was going to happen at this moment the team would probably have to split up and search for clues to Savage and his plan. "I don't know. And I'm not going to find myself stuck in this cell." Sheen then came up with an idea. "We can talk to the other generals and tell them." Jamey shook her head no she was thankful for his wishful thinking but she didn't believe that plan would work. "After everything that's happened, Sheen. Do you really think they'll listen?"
"Maybe you're right but how do we get you out of here? This cell's door is made of Carbonadium, even Sid can't punch through it." Jamey thought about it for a moment before coming to an idea. "But maybe you can phase through it." Jamey said, acting as though she said something completely normal. "Say what now?" Sheen wondered what she was on about now. "I have a theory. If you vibrate your molecules to the natural frequency of air you might be able to phase through the glass." When Jamey looked back at Sheen he was just staring at her with his jaw hanging open. "You're kidding right" Sheen looked at her like she was joking clearly not believing what she was saying. "I did say it was a theory." Jamey said sheepishly. Sheen was about to place his hands on the cell when an idea popped into his head. "If I help you escape, things might get bad for me." But like always Jamey had an answer for that. "Don't worry, security cameras are down and the personnel on the base are stretched way too thin. You're good." Sheen gave a sigh of defeat. "Fine. I guess I'll try." Sheen vibrated his body and went to touch the glass but couldn't go through it. "Aghh! It's not working!" Sheen said frantically. He needed to be able to do this or else Jamey was done for. Sheen was panicking but Jamey said in a calm voice. "It's okay. Just focus and try again." Sheen took a deep breath, he vibrated his body again and managed to phase through the glass pulling Jamey out, Sheen then raced out of the base and brought Jamey into the desert. "Whoa, that was weird." Jamey said, trying to collect her bearings. "Ya, I know. What are you going to do now?" Jamey looked towards her future destination. "I'm going to find out what Savage is planning and also to find a cure for my...condition." Sheen nodded. "What are we going to do about the lab?" Jamey explained that. "Goddard has blueprints, plans, and repair functions to help fix up the lab. Please take care of him." Jamey Looked back at Sheen. "You bet." Sheen told her to ease her mind. "I'll be in contact if something comes up." Sheen extended his hand to Jamey. "Good luck Jamey." Sheen did not know what to expect going forward but he knew that no one could know what he did. "You too Sheen also tell everyone I'm sorry I never meant for any of this to happen." Jamey still couldn't believe what she had done and what she almost did. The two shook hands. At that moment alarms began sounding off at the base. "That's my que I better get back before they suspect something." Sheen said but before he raced off he gave his old friend a quick hug goodbye. "Alright." Jamey said, trying not to tear up. Sheen super sped off. "Guess it's time to get started." Jamey said to herself.
