10 Years Later
Central Dome, Valyria
Walking briskly through the corridors of the renovated structure, a former City Watch guard hurried towards the central chamber or what was dubbed as the throne room. A rolled-up piece of paper in hand, he knocked on the massive doors and waited patiently.
His patient was rewarded by a click and the opening of the gigantic doors, revealing the inner magnificence of the command chamber.
The throne room had seen much changes from its previous majesty, with only a few glaring differences. The dome walls were painted a dark red, its beauty augmented by sigils of the Targaryen three-headed dragon flying from the ceiling to the floor in pillar-like structures.
Fire pots were placed all over the room, illuminating the chamber in a dim light.
The most iconic difference was the removal of all other thrones belonging to the previous houses of Valyria, their iconic sigils etched into the walls of the dome where their thrones used to be as a testament to their memory.
The only one remaining was that of Targaryen, the sigil now etched onto the central throne with the head of a roaring dragon. The throne was moved to the farthest wall, placed on a high platform, illuminated by a stream of light from a single eye-shaped window right above it.
"Sire"
The guard bowed and presented the letter to the sentinels, a pair of tall, muscular and heavily armored men, standing before the staircase to the pedestal.
Seated on the dark, metallic-stone throne was the Demon Prince himself, head resting against the back of the throne and eyes closed. The guard's fearful voice snapped him out of his thoughts as he shifted a little straighter and opened his eyes.
The guard shivered as a pair of dark purple, almost reddish eyes stared at him.
"What is it?" his throaty, deep voice rumbled in the chamber.
"A missive from King's Landing, your grace."
One of the royal guards, dubbed as the Sentinels and tasked with protecting the royal family, stepped forward and took the paper, looking towards the Targaryen prince for affirmation. He received a curt nod.
"King Viserys wishes to have an audience with you, my king" one of the Sentinels began flatly, no emotion whatsoever as he read through the letter. "His Hand, Lionel Strong, along with the Commander of the City Watch, Harwin Strong, has met an unfortunate end at Harrenhal."
"How?"
"Fire, your Grace"
The silver-haired Targaryen lowered his head in momentary silence for the fallen man, saddened by his death. All matters aside, Lionel had been the best Hand Viserys could ever hope for. And Harwin was a strong man, living up to his family name.
Their boots would be hard to fill.
"Send for Maester Luwin. Have him send a raven back to King's Landing and inform my brother that I shall come to his aid." Naruto began firmly, eyes and voice resolute. "And summon Ser Danral"
"At once, my king"
Master Bedroom
Central Dome
Entering his rather spartan chamber with a faraway look to his face, Naruto absently moved to fill himself a glass of wine and walked towards the balcony as he looked at all he had accomplished in the last few years.
Valyria was starting to stand back on its feet. It would be quite a few years before it could even remotely reach its former majesty but it was starting to look like a city now. It was better than the ruins he had found it in.
The last ten years had been cruel to say the least. It had taken more than a few thousand Gold Dragons and a whole lot of patience to gather and recruit the personal needed to start reconstructing. He had almost given up on rebuilding Valyria after a few of the most sought after stonemasons refused his offer and even laughed at his ambition.
They found their hands cut off.
But then one brave man, an old man whose very profession was to preserve the Valyrian way of construction, passed down from one generation to another. While his techniques were far from the best but what he did was better than those of the other regions.
More people followed him to contribute to the rebuilding of the ancient city…with a lot of Gold Dragons of course. Bridges were the first to be rebuilt, connecting the shattered city back up, followed by roads to make for easier transport of materials.
The first 5 years were hard but as the workforce grew, the smoke from the sea was cleared and passing sailors started to see life being breathed into the ruins, investors and likeminded people flooded in. After that, it was easy to hand over responsibility of supervision to other trustworthy people while he turned to other issues.
Rebuilding its army.
Similar to how investors had seen an opportunity to increase their influence and wealth, so had bandits, pirates and Dothraki barbarians.
It had taken Hyperion a single wave of fire to burn them to ashes but it had also destroyed the gates to the city and pretty much everything around it. So it stood to reason to train and arm a military force to secure the parameters.
Luckily he had already started recruitment of soldiers back on Dragonstone years before. Investing Gold Dragons into the ports and renovation of Dragonstone had bore him fruits beyond his expectation. The taxes from the ports alone were able to sustain his developing city. His City Watch and new recruits there had proven useful for the security of Valyria.
It took 3 months to build ships for the transport of 2000 soldiers, 2 months for the actual transport and 4 months for other necessary equipment as well as food supplies.
An alliance with the Council of Qarth had proven useful in regards to a steady supply of gold and tender in exchange for protection from the Dothraki horde. Pentos had soon followed suit in securing an alliance, going so far as to offer the hand of the Prince Admiral's youngest daughter.
He politely refused… but the alliance stood.
Only by the 7th year had he started slowly relocating people who were willing to move to Valyria from Dragonstone. By the 9th year, Dragonstone was vacant of any and all civilians, only occupied by a legion of his army to keep it secure.
The surrounding cities closest to the rebuilt Valyria, disconnected due to the Doom, were soon renovated and inhabited by his people, effectively taking control of a significant area of what used to be the Freehold.
No one objected because they were considered inhospitable…until he proved them wrong.
Having rebuilt the city, his army 10 thousand strong, his treasury full and people satisfied with their lives, he officially announced the existence of Valyria in Essos. His people hailed him as the King of Valyria. He formally wedded his sister, Aemma Targaryen to give the people a queen.
But a tragedy took all his peace away.
Cemetery
Royal Gardens, Valyria
*Here lies Alysanne Targaryen, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, mother to an estranged daughter and the proudest grandmother to a beloved grandson*
Naruto stood still before the grave, eyes fixated on the tombstone without a hint of emotion. His personal security detail, the Sentinels, knew when to stay far away from the king, staying still at the gateway to the cemetery where only one grave was made.
The former queen.
Naruto made no reaction when a pair of delicate arms wrapped around his waist and a soft body hugged him from the back before a chin was placed on his shoulder.
It didn't take the Master of Whisperers to figure out who it was. Only one person in the entire city had the courage to approach the mourning monarch when he clearly had ordered everyone to stay away, even his guards.
Queen Aemma Targaryen.
"I figured I'd find you here, love" she started softly, voice as gentle as the virgin light of a new moon.
"It haunts me, Aemma" Naruto stated back, purple eyes focused on the tombstone. "I can hear her voices in my head, feel her touch when I move through those halls and sense her beside me when I sit upon that throne"
The busty queen tightened her hug, knowing full well this was a very sore topic for her sibling. He rarely talked about it, mostly trying to ignore everyone and stare mindlessly at the grave.
"It was not your fault, Naruto" she affirmed gently, running circles on his chest for comfort. "You have to understand that despite her young appearance and vigor, she was still as old as grandfather. She tried every conceivable way possible to stay alive … just for you."
The queen's sudden illness and subsequent death crushed Naruto's very soul into pieces.
No one could have predicted the eternally beautiful queen to die, least of all the king himself. She was as energetic as ever, young as well. She was among the first to arrive at Valyria and work side by side with her grandson to rebuild the city.
9 years of hardship, strife, sleepless nights and continuous work, she endured it all. Watching the city stand under the rule of her beloved grandson …all with a beaming smile of pride.
She attended the wedding of her grandson and granddaughter, looking more beautiful and radiant than ever. She blessed them, wished them a life of love, bliss and peace. She even gifted Naruto her black ring, a ring she had been wearing since her 10th Nameday.
Her health started deteriorating the next day.
Naruto had been at Runestone for an important family event, the marriage of his daughter, and had not returned until two months later to find his grandmother a withering husk of her former splendor. All attempts to get her back up healthy failed. Maesters from every corner of the continent, even those from beyond were brought to heal her but in vain.
On her deathbed, she kissed her grandson one last time and drifted off to eternal slumber in his arms, wishing she could see her estranged daughter one last time.
Valyria witnessed the darkest day of its new age, the death of their beloved co-founder and the rampage of the king on the back of a wild Hyperion. The Great Grass Sea was the unfortunate venting spot for the enraged duo.
Essos trembled in fear that day and night, the shadows of Asshai slithered back as far as they could go and Westeros bore witness to a second sun falling down from the direction of Essos as Hyperion turned the Grass Sea into a landscape of heated glass and mountains of ashes.
A day and night, the king and his dragon, feeding on the emotions of his rider, raged on before all became silent.
A month later, Naruto returned to Valyria, a husk of his formal self with changes that terrified his people. His eyes had changed….and Hyperion seemed to have grown even larger.
All matters pertaining to the queen's funeral were personally handled by the king. A special coffin, imbued with magic by a sorcerer from Asshai, was crafted to house the Targaryen. A massive tomb was built her in honor, made from Dragonglass and big enough to house Silverwing so the downtrodden beast could watch over her rider for the rest of her days.
Silverwing never accepted anyone else as a rider.
"I shouldn't have gone to Runestone that day …" the mourning king muttered under his breath, fondly caressing the black ring on his finger.
Aemma rounded on him with a frown, standing right in front of him as she took his face in her hands with a pained smile. "You couldn't have known about her health. We can't change our pasts, only look towards our future. She lived to see you happy, to see you conquer the world. Everything you did gave her peace and she died with a smile. Do you think she'd be happy to see you standing at her grave every day and weeping? It would kill her all over again"
"But…she was not supposed to die…"
The busty queen wrapped her arms around her husband's neck and hugged him against the softness of her breasts, soothingly caressing his head as his eyes, for the first time in months, welled up with restrained tears. "I know, love, I know. Then again, no one is. But if you wish to truly find peace, honor our grandmother's last wish"
"…" It was a silent question.
"Find Saera"
A Week Later
King's Landing, Westeros
The citizens of King's Landing watched in awe and more than a bit of fear when Hyperion's massive shadow appeared over the harbor, covering everything in its entirety as the massive beast descended to the sandy beach behind the Red Keep.
A platoon of guards was already waiting for him there.
The Valyrian king, dressed in his usual black and crimson robe with the addition of a strange eye symbol on the back of his robe and a black tiara/faceguard metal on his visage, descended the dragon to the sandy shore.
"Welcome to King's Landing, your grace" one of the guards greeted, urging the rest to bow as the muscular king jumped down to the sand.
"Thank you, soldier" Naruto countered with a curt nod and turned to the massive beast as it lowered its head to listen to him. "Get some rest, old friend. I'll have some food sent over for you"
The crimson dragon huffed and moved to the cave, struggling a bit to get inside, much to the amusement of his rider as the dragon growled in annoyance.
Not waiting for the star-struck guards to snap out of their stupor, Naruto reached for one of the horses tied to a chariot and ripped off the bindings before mounting the saddle-less stallion and galloping towards the castle.
"Y-your grace!"
Master Bedchamber
A visibly changed Viserys sat motionless in a rocking chair before the windows of his bedchamber, looking at the approaching beast, a soft smile forming on his lips as his heart soared in pride as his weary eyes spotted a tall figure standing on the horned head of the dragon as it descended to the beach.
He would never get tired of seeing such fearlessness.
"Husband"
A mature and beautiful Alicent, dressed in her typical green dress that hugged her sinfully thick form, strode into the room with a curious look on her face, a raised eyebrow to indicate her unasked question as she approached her smiling husband.
Her eyes widened in surprise as she looked through the window.
Her heart raced and eyes glazed over at the familiar form of her lover jumping to the sandy shore. "N-naruto…"
"My brother has returned" Viserys announced proudly, unaware of his wife's not-so-innocent thoughts regarding the Targaryen king. A chuckle escaped his lips as Naruto ignored the chariot and took a horse instead. "He hasn't changed"
"…" Of course he has! Even from such distant, she could see those damn seductively dominant eyes of his, those muscular arms and the strength of several bears behind them as he rode towards the castle.
It didn't take long for the Valyrian to be escorted to the chamber.
"Brother"
Alicent did not dare turn around to have a look at the muscular king lest she lose control of her desire and pounce him right before her husband. She wouldn't even think twice before sliding on his cock like a common wh… NO!
"There is the King!" Viserys proclaimed proudly, attempting to stand up to embrace his brother but the silverette was quicker. He placed a hand on the elderly king's shoulder and eased him back onto the chair before kneeling to his eye-level and embracing him.
"I've come as a brother, not a king, Viserys"
Viserys took a moment to have a long look at his sibling, eyes watering in fondness. "Look at you, you are a spitting image of Aegon Targaryen … a conqueror"
"Now you're just trying to make me blush"
"You've been born to rule, brother, truly you have" the older brother declared firmly, a fond smile on his face as Naruto straightened. "None have ever tried to rebuild our former home, neither me nor my predecessors since the Doom. Grandfather believed in you, as do I."
"Your trust means a lot, brother" Naruto countered gratefully, before turning to the silent queen. "It's been awhile"
God, she had gotten even thicker than before. Her breasts had gotten as big as her mother and that woman had breasts rivaling Rhaenys. Hips were even wider and thicker.
"It has, your grace" she replied with a curtsy, masking her blush as the silver-haired Valyrian openly undressed her with his eyes…right before her husband.
Naruto smirked softly. "Just Naruto is fine, my queen. You are family"
Alicent suppressed an aroused shudder.
"Speaking of family, how are my niece and nephews?"
The redheaded queen stiffened.
Later
Royal Gardens, Red Keep
To be understood by someone, anyone at all, had been a dream of Helaena Targaryen since she had come to tell the difference between right and wrong. She had longed for someone to give her the benefit of the doubt, to at least try to understand her mumbling. To take them as something other than worthless words from the mouth of a mentally-ill kid.
Unfortunately, no one did.
Even her mother didn't understand her. Granted she tried to be there, to give her all the support she needed and give her a listening ear but deep down she was listened to only because her queen mother thought she was deserving of pity.
She didn't need anyone's pity.
Until her uncle came.
A soft smile danced on her lips as the image of her strong but kind uncle came into her mind. Uncle Naruto was the only person to ever understand …truly understand her. He listened to her words, out of curiosity not pity. He asked questions about her mumblings in a way that made her know deep down that he had listened and he wanted to know more.
His eyes showed fondness and care.
He didn't judge her interests, but rather took interests in every miniscule little thing she took interest in. He encouraged her ambitions, no matter how pointless they seemed to others.
He was different.
But he was not here most of the time. He was a king now, the most famous king in Essos and Westeros. He rebuilt a city that had been turned to shattered pieces, engulfed by a poisonous smoke blanket and creatures that preferred the darkness.
He created a kingdom out of the ashes.
She wished she could go with him… to see for herself the kingdom he has built, to see the greatness that had inspired her enigmatic uncle to leave the safety of home and settle so far away from his loved ones.
Alas, her mother had refused.
The ten year old princess calmly observed the spider in her hands, the strange, creepy eyes, the hairy legs and the amazing attributes of its existence. Even this spider was more free than her.
"I hope I'm not interrupting a private conversation between you two?" The normally docile girl jumped to her feet as soon as the amused voice reached her ears and raced for the silver-haired king, jumping straight into his arms with a wide smile on her face, much to the Valyrian's amusement. "I should visit more often if this is how you greet me"
The girl refused to let go of him, opting to hug him as tight as she could while he kneeled in an awkward position because of the height difference. "You really should, uncle. It's been months since you last visited"
"I understand, dear niece, but I shall try to live up to your expectations" the Rogue Prince countered with a smile. "Now, are you going to let go of me so I can stand properly before my back starts hurting? I'm not as young as I used to be"
"No, I'm not"
"Well then …" the young prince eep'ed in surprised embarrassment as Naruto wrapped a hand around her and hoisted her up like a weightless doll, walking towards a chair and promptly sat down, settling her down in his lap. "Now, tell me. How has my favorite niece been doing?"
Helaena leaned back to look her uncle straight in the eyes, a deadpan look on her face. "I'm your only niece"
The Valyrian king smirked cheekily. "All the more reasons to ask of your health"
"You are so goofy, uncle" she couldn't help but chuckle at his expression. It was funny because she knew just how serious and ruthless he was with others.
"But you love me anyways" He didn't even need to ask. the young princess gave him a hug in return. "I brought a gift"
"A gift?"
Reaching for the inner pocket of his coat, the Demon Prince pulled out his hand, a small box clutched at his palm, as he presented it to the curious princess. "Open it"
Turning around in his lap so that her back was resting against his right hand and seated on his legs, the young princess tentatively took the box and opened it, eyes widening a little at the contents inside. "A spider?"
"Not just any spider, Helaena. A black widow from the forests of Velos from the Isles of Cedars" Naruto explained softly, gaining the interest of the princess. "It's one of the most venomous predatory arachnids, its poison said to be 15 times stronger than a rattlesnake's. it's called as such because of its behavior to eat its mate after laying eggs"
He couldn't say the word 'mating' since she was too young to start thinking about such things.
Helaena was quick to halfway shut the lid to the box so that the creature couldn't harm her, earning a smile of approval from the proud king as she observed the strange design on its tail-end. "So interesting. How did you catch it, uncle?"
"Unfortunately, I can't take the credit for its capture."
The princess raised an eyebrow. "Who did?"
"Well…"
"Uncle… where did you get this from?" she knew that expression on his face.
"Ok I might have …'borrowed' it from Maester Luwin's lab"
The young princess gasped. "You stole it?"
The Valyrian king puffed out his chest in pride. "A king does not steal, child, he takes"
"Does he know?"
"Well ….no"
"Then you stole it" she deadpanned, shaking her head at his antics. Inwardly she was smiling from ear to ear. Her uncle was willing to take a precious specimen from his kingdom and bring it to her just to see her happy.
She loved him for that.
THE END
