Freddy remained quiet for a moment, looking hesitant, but had finally asked as: Sir woh kahan baithien gy…? (Feeling ACP sir's silent gaze on himself, hurriedly elaborated as…) Matlab unn ka desk…
And he stopped there, being unable to complete when after few moments' complete silence, inhaling a deep breath…
ACP sir moved forward on his chair while replying him in calm-composed tone as: Freddy main samjhta hoon k hum dono k baad Daya k sb sy qareeb tum hi rahy ho hamesha lekin tumhien bhi yeh samjhna ho ga k Daya ab wapis yahan nahin aaye ga… (Freddy looked at him in pain while he continued as…) Woh resign ker chuka hai aur main uss ka resignation accept ker chuka hoon…
Freddy cut him restlessly with: Sir main yeh sb janta hoon lekin hum unn naye officer ko koe aur desk bhi tou dy sakty hain na please…?
ACP sir smiled silently with: Uss sy kya ho ga Freddy…? Kya Bureau mein uss ki kmmi mehsos hona bnd ho jaye gi…?
Freddy replied quietly as: Lekin sir ki jagah kisi ko wahan baitha daikhny sy jo takleef ho gi, woh tou nahin ho gi na sir…
ACP sir inhaling a deep breath, replied him softly as: Freddy tumhari takleef samjh raha hoon main lekin yehi zindagi hai, jb koe insan apni jagah chhor dy, tou uss jagah ko bharny k liye koe aur aa hi jata hai… Zindagi kabhi kisi k liye nahin rukti…
Freddy looked at him in complained-filled-pain with: Sir, Daya sir ny apni jagah chhori nahin thi, unn sy unn ki jagah chhurwai gae thi…
ACP sir looked at him in complete seriousness with: Sirf iss liye k Bureau mein uss ka na hona humien takleef dy ga iss k liye hum ussy takleef mein rakhty, kya yeh uss k sath sahi hota Freddy…? (Freddy getting quiet moved his gaze down where ACP sir inhaling a deep breath, told him calmly as…) Abhijeet aur main ny khud ko samjha lia hai Freddy, behter ho ga tum bhi khud ko samjha lo, iss sy tumhari hi takleef kmm ho gi…
Freddy nodded quietly with: I am sorry sir, aap theek keh rahy hain, main shaid apni takleef k chalty ghalat bol gaya…
ACP sir replied him politely as: Sorry kehny ki zarorat nahin hai Freddy, I can understand…
Freddy giving him a gratified smile, replied as: Thank you sir… (And then asked him as…) Sir main jaon ab…?
ACP sir nodded him in silent smile and Freddy left the cabin while ACP sir still sitting in his cabin, looked at his younger son's desk which was empty from months now and from tomorrow it was going in the use of someone else…
Sighing a heavy breath, ACP sir just threw his head on the head rest while saying to himself as: Freddy puri tarhan sy ghalat bhi tou nahin hai na Daya, kal sy tumhary desk py kisi aur ko baitha daikhna, mushkil tou ho ga baita, mushkil tou ho ga…
And he closed eyes remembering the day when…

ACP sir was silently sitting in his study, looking far in space when a soft door knock broke his trail of thoughts, moving ACP sir's gaze towards the door to find Abhijeet standing there and…
ACP sir glancing over the wall clock to find it striking 11:36 pm, looked back towards his elder kid with: Abhijeet tum itni raat ko yahan…?
Abhijeet nodded reluctantly with: Jee sir, woh main ander aa jaon…?
ACP sir nodded affectionately with: Aa jao baita, iss mein pouchhny ki kya zarorat hai, aao… (And seeing him coming inside, he signaled him towards the couch with…) Aao baitho…
Abhijeet while sitting gave him a hesitant look with: Thank you sir…
ACP sir, who was observing his reluctance since he saw him there, asked him softly as: Abhijeet kya baat hai bchchy…? Preshan lg rahy ho tum…? Daya tou theek hai na…?

Abhijeet, looking like struggling to find correct words, finally said in single breath as: Sir main chahta hoon k Daya CID sy resign ker dy aur aap uss ka resignation accept ker lien please…
ACP sir looked at him in real shock with: Kya…! (And then taking a momentary pause, he asked him in meaningful tone as…) Abhijeet easa tum chahty ho kya…?
Abhijeet looked at him in pain with: Sir woh wapis nahin aana chahta, aur mujhy bhi lggny lgga hai k CID ki nokri kabhi uss k ghaow bharny nahin dy gi… (Added in real hurt as…) Woh tou pehly hi dard ki aik chalti phirti tasveer bn chuka hai sir aur bhaly hi easa kuchh nahin hai js sy hum uss ka yeh dard khatam ker sakien lekin hum iss dard ko kmm zaror ker sakty hain, aur sir, main uss ka yeh dard kmm kerna chahta hoon please… (Taking out an envelope, he placed that on the center table with…) Humien aap k faisly ka intizar rahy ga sir… (And he stood up quietly with…) Good night sir…
And he left the study the same minute while ACP sir looked at the envelope in real pain and…
ACP sir whispered in rage-filled-moist tone as: Tumhien iss ki qeemat chukani ho gi Shastri, qeemat chukani ho gi tumhien…
And a drop slipped from his eye in silence and the next morning he did what he could to lessen his son's pain…
And a door knock brought him back from his memory lane and he looked towards the door to find Tasha standing there, who came there to tell him about the murder case just reported in the Bureau…
DUO's Home…
Daya's Room…
On the other side, in DUO's home seeing Daya was sitting in the same posture from past few minutes now…
Abhijeet whispered to himself as: Shaid ab suun ly yeh, aik baar phir sy koshish ker k daikhta hoon… (And clearing his throat, he called him softly as…) Daya…! Daya…!
Daya slowly lifting his head, looked at him with: Hun…?
Abhijeet tried politely as: Daya tumhary liye yeh medicines zar…
But…
Daya cut him right there in anger with: Nahin khaon ga main yeh aur ager tum ny dobara bola mujhy tou main tum sy bhi baat kerna bnd ker dun ga… (Completed firmly as…) Aur main bina baat kiye reh sakta hoon, samjh lo tum yeh…
And jerking his head in frustration he went back on his previous posture while…
Abhijeet sighed heavily, murmuring to himself as: Yeh iss tarhan nahin maney ga, mujhy kuchh aur sochna ho ga lekin pehly issy medicines daina zarori hai…
And nodding to himself, he stood up grabbing the tray with himself and quietly left the room without coming in the notice of the younger one…
Kitchen…
Coming in the kitchen, Abhijeet warmed the milk while sidewise taking out Daya's medicines and after converting them in powdered form, he mixed them in the glass of warmed milk and then left towards the latter's room…
Daya's Room…
Entering in the room Abhijeet smoothly sat a few feet away from Daya and placing the small tray near him…
Abhijeet called him softly as: Daya…! (And noticing the slight movement in the latter's body though he did not respond to that call, Abhijeet smiled lightly knowing well that the younger one was now showing his displeasure towards him, unknowingly bringing sooth to the elder one resulting, he added as…) Achha sorry, main dobara nahin kahon ga tumhien medicines k liye, promise… (Still getting no response from the other side, he repeated himself as…) Sb sy pkka promise, please…? (And this time, Daya slowly lifted his head up and looked at Abhijeet silently who nodded him in assurance with…) Nahin keh raha main dobara tumhien kuchh bhi, theek hai…?
Daya slowly nodded with: Hmm, theek hai…
Abhijeet giving him a soft smile, signaled him towards the glass of milk with: Achha Daya, main dodh ka glass dobara garam ker laya hoon, iss sy pehly k yeh phir sy thanda ho jaye, pei lo ftta-ftt sy please…
Daya giving him a nod, moved forward and smoothly grabbing the glass from the tray, moved back to his seat… Sitting there, he silently drank the whole milk in one go and then placing the glass back on the tray, softly slid it towards the elder one, himself moving back on his place…
Abhijeet who was quietly sitting there during the whole time, grabbing the tray stood up while telling him in casual tone as: Tum ab aaram kro Daya, srr mein dard ho raha tha na tumhary, koshish kro k soo jao thori dair, main bhi bahir ja raha hoon, hmm…?
And receiving a hesitant nod from the other side, Abhijeet flashing a soft smile left the room the same minute to relax the younger one…
Kitchen…
Coming in the kitchen he got busy in arranging it while keeping eye on the latter who was now lying near the room's wall, with eyes closed, bringing relax smile on the elder one who knew it well that in few minutes Daya would be in deep sleep because of the medicines he just took…
Getting freed from the kitchen Abhijeet left towards the younger one's room again while grabbing a chair with himself and opening the room door, he placed that there to keep the room door opened, knowing well that Daya was in deep sleep now…
Daya's Room…
Entering in the room Abhijeet sat near his brother and smoothly securing his hand in his own, softly started weaving in his head, relishing the time when he could touch the younger one without scaring him…
Abhijeet while placing a soft kiss on Daya's hand's upper side, whispered to him softly as: Sorry bchcha, tujhy itna rulany aur woh sb wapis sy yaad dilany k liye… (Looked at him hurtfully with…) Lekin tu woh sb bhoola hi kb hai Daya, ussi jagah qaid ho k reh gaya hai tu, baar baar ussi aziyat ko jiye ja raha hai… (Inhaling deeply, he looked at him with…) Daya, I am sorry yar lekin tujhy yeh yaad dilany k liye k woh sb taira beeta kal hai, aaj nahin, mujhy yeh sb kerna ho ga Daya, kerna ho ga mujhy yeh sb…
And bowing down, he placed a soft kiss on the latter's temple, who was sleeping there in complete silence and none of the two had any idea that what next challenge life was holding for them…
Abhijeet still weaving in the younger one's head, silently rested his head on the wall behind and closed his eyes remembering the day when that all had started where…

Abhijeet and Tasha could be seen present in the lobby outside OT while the operation theatre's red bulb was on… Abhijeet was sitting on the bench, with his gaze fixed on the floor looking in deep thoughts while Tasha was standing near the wall, looking tensed…
Soon ACP sir arrived there in real hurry and seeing him there…
Tasha hurriedly approached him with: Sir…!
ACP sir stopping there, asked her as: Tasha, Satya kaisa hai ab…?
Tasha slightly shook her head with: Sir uss ki halat theek nahin hai, doo golian lggi hain, khoon bhi kafi beh gaya hai, operation chal raha hai uss ka… (ACP sir nodded worriedly while Tasha uttered in worry as…) Sir…!
And she signaled him towards Abhijeet who didn't even blink the whole time, looking like completely unaware of what was happening around him… ACP sir giving an understanding nod to Tasha left towards his elder kid and reaching near him…
ACP sir supportively pressed his shoulder with: Abhijeet…!
Abhijeet snapped out from his thoughts with a jerk and seeing him there, he instantly stood up with: Sir…!
ACP sir encouragingly patted his shoulder with: Chinta na kro, Satya bch jaye ga aur Daya bhi bohut jald humary sath ho ga, hmm…? (Abhijeet nodded silently when to divert his mind, ACP sir asked him as…) Achha Abhijeet, tum log gaye thy spot py, kuchh mila tum logon ko…?
Abhijeet inhaling a deep breath, nodded and told him in empty tone as: Ranga ki lash mili sir… (ACP sir looked at him in shock where Abhijeet shook his head with…) Apna kaam nikalty hi sb sy pehly uss ka mun bnd kia unhon ny… (Looked at him with…) Freddy ko kaha hai k uss k ghar ja k daikhy, shaid wahan sy humein aagy berhny k liye koe suragh mil jaye…

Tasha giving him a nod, left aside to make the call while at the same moment, OT's door opened and the doctor came out from it, turning both seniors' attentions towards him and…
