"You're new around here, sir!" a voice chirped next to him.

Aizawa whipped out his capture weapon and activated his quirk, ready to take down whatever villain was stupid enough to talk to him. The scarf wrapped around the figure easily, but when he tugged it forward, it seemed lighter than normal.

"Ack! S-Sir!"

When he brought the mysterious figure up to his face, wide, ebony eyes stared back at him. Slick black hair and a body a bit too skinny, Aizawa realized he had captured a child—a girl—no older than seven. Her clothes looked worn out and baggy, with only a way oversized hoodie and leggings on her body—the hoodie reaching almost past her knees.

He raised an eyebrow. "How did you get on the roof? And why are you away from your home this late at night?"

The girl seemed indifferent to being tied up with his weapon. Instead, she pouted and muttered, "I climbed the latter," nodding to the rusty fire escape a few feet away. "And I got bored. So, I'm out here."

"That's a rather irrational thing to do when you're bored," he replied evenly, not letting her go. For all he knew, she could be a spy for a villain group. He was in a shady neighborhood after all. "It's a Thursday night. You must have school tomorrow. Why aren't you sleeping?"

The girl shrugged to the best of her ability. "Bored."

"And so you're on a roof talking to strangers?"

"The crazy things you do when you're bored."

"Rationally, no one would do this in the middle of the night."

"I dunno sir, you're up here too," she pointed out, scrunching up her nose. "What makes you so different from me? You have a magical scarf? A quirk-erasing quirk? I mean, we both have black hair. Except yours is floaty. That's cool."

Aizawa blinked, letting go of his quirk. "Are you part of a villain organization?"

The girl tilted her head to the side. "Shouldn't you ask that while you have your quirk activated? I like your floaty hair too."

"I get dry eye."

"Hm... Well, if I was part of a villain organization, why would I tell you?"

"Little kids have loose lips."

The girl pouted, but then changed the subject. "So... you're after a villain organization? Or are you a hero?"

Aizawa furrowed his brow once more. Wasn't it obvious he was a hero? He captured her with his weapon and clearly was looking out for villains. Unless... "You've seen signs of vigilantism around here? That's illegal by the way."

The girl immediately pursed her lips and looked away. "For all I know, you could be doing something illegal right now too."

"Too?"

The girl stayed quiet.

"As I said, little kids have loose lips."

She scowled. "No, you just like to think too much into things sir."

He shook his head once more. It was like one of his kids in the classroom came to haunt him at night. Aizawa sighed, releasing the girl from his scarf. "Go home, kid. The rooftops aren't a place for you, especially in the middle of the night. Your parents will be worried if they wake up and they don't find you."

Her face remained in a frown as she rubbed her arms. She opened her mouth but then closed it.

"Do I need to drag you to your living space?" he warned.

Her shoulders slumped over. She whined, "Okayyyy, I'll go." She waved and made her way to the rusty latter. "See you tomorrow, sir!"

Aizawa looked at her before jumping to the next building to look out over.

Wait. See you tomorrow?
