Earth Federation Admiral Lance Heagan was shifting through paperwork which involved reports of dealing with Titans and Zeon remnants, the AEUG had just been disbanded not long after the Neo-Zeon War ended with many of its assets merged back into the Federation.
When the Gryps War began, Lance was an MS pilot for the Federation and was dealing with AEUG Forces and Zeon Remenants in space, however in May UC 0087 Kacricorn died which saddened the Heagans as well as Jerid who had also lost his crush Lila around that time, Lance noticed Jerid getting more and more bitter as time went on as Jerid lost friends and even a girlfriend which eventually caused Lance and Jerid to fall out as Lance saw Jerid as nothing more than a hollow shell obsessed in killing Kamille Bidan and leading the crumbling Titans which led to Jerids death in early UC 0088.
Eventually the loss of his brother Jorgan as well as Quattros Speech on Dakar made Lance realise that the Titans as well as supressing Spacenoids were a bad idea as they caused his brothers supposed death and with his dignity on the line, Lance joined the AEUG to fight the Titans and helped in the final battle in Gryps where the Titans were finally defeated, however only a week after, Haman Karn and her new Neo-Zeon invaded the Earth Sphere, Lance was not surprised considering the state the AEUG and Earth Federation were in.
The First Neo-Zeon War saw Lance fight some of Haman's cronies before assisting Task Force Alpha in wiping out some of the last remenants of the Titans known as New Desides and then afterwards continued fighting Neo-Zeon when the Dublin Colony Drop happened which because of a couple Federation Admirals dying as well as Lance's continuous good peformances saw Lance transferred back to the Earth Federation and promoted to Admiral which saw him away from the front lines.
However in January UC 0089, Lance volunteered to fight in the final battle of Axis as an MS Pilot despite being an Admiral and helped take down a good number of Zaku III's and Doven Wolfs before the battle was won when Haman and Glemy was supposingly killed which saw the Earth Federation and AEUG in Lance's eyes defeat the last verges of Zeon and secure peace in the Earth Sphere .
As Lance was heading back, he saw a lone Black and Purple Qubeley Mass Production Type, his mobile suit (a GM III) approached it to find a Puru clone inside known as Ple Twenty, Lance decided to spare the Puru clone and adopted her as his daughter namimg her Lyla Heagan, after the battle Lance was given an assignment on Side 1 in regards to helping the handover of AEUG/Karaba to the Earth Federation Forces and eventually form a new elite force led by Earth Federation and AEUG hero Captain Bright Noa and it was stated that it would be formed by March of next year.
Lance had just shifted through his paperwork when Lieutenant James Michaelson walked in
"Lieutenant, what brings you here" said Lance
"Admiral, look at these files" said James handing the files over
The files which came from an old satellite showed what appeared to be something entering the atmosphere
"What is this, I can't clearly see what it is" said Lance
"Its what appears to be a MS entering the atmosphere, although due to Federation cheapness, its hard to see as the Earth Federation used a converted old satellite from the early 1990s AD and it gave us this picture, however the date is of interest" said James
"January 19th and if I do the AD to UC converter, thats UC 0089, meaning that its definitely something that crashed into earth, are you sure it wasn't a piece of Axis or any satellites that crashed recently" said Lance
"We ran a diagnostics with the Federation Weather Service and they didn't detect any asteroid or satellite movement on that precise day" said James
"It must be an MS and considering most Zeon MS went spaceward after the battle, it must of had a differing purpose" said Lance
"What do you mean" said James
"It could connect with an another Zeon Remnant or it may be on the run from the Federation, considering its a satellite footage, not only is there photos, but video" said Lance
"Yeah, we've got it here on this VHS Tape" said James
"Let me see" said Lance as he put the tape in
The tape which was in poor quality showed its area when Lance noticed something
"Stop it at the 2 minute mark" said Lance
"Yes Sir" said James as he stopped the video
"Its a Qubeley" said Lance
"That would be impossible, most Qubeleys were black and invisible, how can a refitted satellite detect it" said James
"Thats because its a white qubeley, computer how many white qubeley's fielded by Neo-Zeon during the war" said Lance
"One, piloted by Haman Karn Supreme Leader of Neo-Zeon and Axis" said the computer
"It can't be, she is dead, she died at the Battle of Axis, we had a first hand account stating such fact" said James
"Looks like the facts were wrong, its her Qubeley alright, tell me who was the first hand account" said Lance
"Judau Ashta, pilot of the ZZ Gundam, fought against Haman Karn in the final battle of Axis" said James
"Looks like he is got his facts wrong as thats definitely Haman, he either covered for her or Haman faked her death to escape the looming AEUG/Federation Fleet" said Lance
"What shall we do" said James
"Do you have a location on where she possibly landed" said Lance
"Don't know, we know it was nightime in the region she landed as her MS was the only thing that we could see" said James
"Did the Satellite give out a time" said Lance
"It did, but unfortunately the satellite is running on GMT time which showed it was daytime at the time it crashed" said James
"Ok, I kinda have enough info on what we need" said Lance
"Shall I assemble a crew for this mission" said James
"Yes and make sure its relevant to the person who we are trying to find" said Lance
"Yes Sir" said James
A Week Later
"Admiral, I have assembled a crew ready for the mission" said James
"I'm ready" said Lance
James and Lance went to the briefing room where he was introduced to his troops for the mission
"First of all this is pilot Lyle Ashidar, he fought for Karaba during both the Gryps and the First Neo-Zeon War, an expert at jungle and guerrilla warfare, if Haman Karn is hiding in a jungle enviroment, he can help us route her out"
"Lyle ready to stomp out some Zekes" said Lyle
"Next up is Jay McDougal, he joined the AEUG after suviving the Dublin Colony Drop, when he heard about this mission, he wanted to join to avenge his family, he is probably got the best experience in regard to knowing Zeke tactics"
"Honour to serve with you Admiral, I want to fight the Ghost of Zeon personally for revenge" said Jay
"You'll get your chance Jay" said Lance
"This is Kou Uraki, fought for the Titans during the Gryps War and before that fought the Nightmare of Solomon Anaval Gato, although records don't show much due to being erased after Operation Stardust, however with many first hand evidence, I can confirm that he is the Ace known as the Phantom Ace, he should be useful as we are fighting a powerful Newtype"
"Kou, awaiting orders sir" said Kou
"Finally, this is Yazan Gable, otherwise known as The Beast, he was the Titans best ace during the Gryps War with your brother Jorgan being the 2nd best, he is extremley proficient in hunting Newtypes as well as fighting like a wild beast despite not being a Newtype"
"Didn't Yazan fight for Haman" said Lance
"Only as a Bounty Hunter, but his loyalties are more to the Federation" said James
"Very well, Crew, you'll be now known as Shadow Squadron, here are your new suits (customised Federation flight suit with logos) , uniforms (a Federation uniform with the Squadrom logo) and data on the mission you will be peforming" said Lance
"Yes Sir" said the Squadron
The Squadron's logo showed a ghost with a sword on its throat with the Earth Federation logo beneath it as well as stars in the background
"Do you want Haman dead or alive" said Yazan
"Captured would be ideal as we could use Haman's trial and most likely execution as a great propaganda piece for the Earth Federation, plus it would make all of us look like heros capturing a reviled Former Leader of Zeon as well as preventing anymore Gihren's and Haman's from re-appearing, however if you guys do get the ace kill, the Federation will reward you either way" said Lance
"Which suits will be piloting" said Kou
"Good question, Jay you'll be given a GM III with heavy weapons, Lyle you will be given a camouflaged Nemo, Kou you will be given one of our new prototype Jegans and Yazan I'm giving you one of our rare ZZ Gundam Mass Production Type's, Yazan if it gets damaged we can't replace it as the others have been given to different squads" said Lance
"Where do you believe Haman is" said Lyle
"Anywhere on Earth with a + timezone as our satellite caught Haman enter the Earth a few hours after GMT around nightime, we suspect Asia, somewhere in the South East" said Lance
