Chapter 27: Plastic Explosive
The Scouts were hidden on top of the buildings surrounding the tunnels entrance. The a platoon of scouts disguised in plain clothes taking cover in the ground level. Eren and Mikasa were inside the tunnel ,waiting for Armin to lure the target in. Hange had predicted the Target paths should she turn and set up the special target restraining weapons at the possible routes, the Special Operation Squad were with hers.
"So how does it like being able to sense energies ?" Hange Zoe turned to ask Levi.
"Annoying!" The ability pissed Levi off when he arrived at Stohess, he was latterly able to sense the entire district's energies. "I can't turn the fucker off."
"It doesn't seem to bother Gohan nor Mikasa much." Commented Petra "Maybe they got used with it?"
"That's right. I can't believe Captain would hate his new ability." Said Oulo "I mean he's the one who supported your boyfriend's training in the first place."
Petra glared Oulo with her red face when she heard the word 'boyfriend'.
"Oh please, we know that you two had sex,okay." Oulo continued "We all heard it."
"It must have been bad. Since you both didn't have much experience in the subject." Giggled Gunther.
"YOU TWO NEED TO SHUT UP!" Screamed Petra, her face was getting redder.
"Quiet,Petra, you'll blow our cover." Ordered Levi, though he did not like the subject the squad was talking about. "And Gunther, Oulo , you need to stop."
"So, does anyone's energy different?" Hange tried to ignore the bedroom story she just heard.
"Yeah,some are low ,some are high, some I recognize ." Answered Levi, thought he was unable to turn the ability off when he wanted to, he had to give it some credit. It warned him of dangers that he was unable to see. "Gohans' Highest!"
"Must be useful." Added Hange
"It will be more useful if I can turn it off and on whenever I like it." Said Levi, and then something caught his attention. A figure of a person standing on top of a Bell Tower, Levi was only barely see the person and he could not make sure who it was "Who is that?" He pointed at the figure.
Hange stood up and shaded her eyes from the sun, it took her five minutes to see the person, it appeared that the person was wearing a very long cloak. "I've no idea. I hope it won't compromise our operation."
"And the other one is Hermann Gleaves, the more pleasant one of the Top Betas." Said Boris as the squad waited at the gate. He quickly looked at the five Wolves who assigned with them, they did not seem to give much care to their conversation. "I've never thought I would see two Top Betas at the same time in my life."
"Well, you must have never thought you would be saved by a Wolf ,haven't you." Hitch decided this was the best time to tease Marlo.
"I don't owe that son of a bitch anything." Response Marlo,who immediately looked at the Wolves,he let out a breath when the Wolfpack members were still indifference with the MP.
Then the chains cracked as the gate open and a convoy of four carriages passed through ,there were MPs escorting them, by the carriages and on the carriages. Annie and her MP squad gave them a salute until the convoy finally passed by them, Annie and her squad followed the convoy, which the Wolfpack did the same. Although started a little later, the Wolfpack were able to bypass the MP squad and ran in front of them in a matter of second.
"Pss, Annie!" A voice came out from the alleys ,it was faint but Annie managed to hear and recognize it. She turned into a halt and turned to the alley where she triangulated where the voice came from.
She turned to another alley where she saw a hooded person waiting for her, by the blond hair, she knew who it was. "Hello, Annie, so you're a full fledged MP now,huh?"
"Armin?" Her eyes and mouth widened "What're you wearing?"
"The Scout Regiment rain gear, I wear it as a disguise to conceal my ODM gears." He pulled up the rain coat to show the anti-titan equipments . "See?"
"Why the troubles ?" Asked Annie.
"Listen , Annie, we have a plan to help Eren escape and we're hoping that you would help us." Armin continued.
"Wait, escape to where ? Stuck behind these wall, where can you hide that they won't find you?" Asked Annie.
"We just need to hide him for a while. This isn't a mutiny . We do intent to return." Armin calmly answered "We have a loyal scouts staging an act of protest. We need to stall the MP so we can have enough time to gather evidence to prove Eren's innocence ."
"You are serious? How could you be sure that such an evident exists?" Question Annie "What is it?"
"I can't say." The blond scout replied "I'm sorry."
"Uh, sorry Armin. I'm gonna have to decline." Annie turn around "Don't worry, we never had this conversation . Wish you best of luck!"
"They're going murder him for no good reason. They fear him because they don't understand." Armin called her back "They don't know that their fear is bringing humanity to the brink of extinction . Maybe it's too late to change their minds. But what if we can? We have no choice but to bet everything on that possibility ." he lower his head to a bow "I'm sorry ,we don't what to cause you any trouble. But the only way we can pass through Wall Sina checkpoints is requiring the help of someone in the MP. It's our only hope."
Annie turned her head to Armin.
"Why me?" She asked "Do I really look like that good of a person to you?"
"Gohan said that it is easier to be good than bad. Should a good person can turn bad, so does a bad person can turn good." Answered Armin. "After Trost, Gohan saw the good of people was shown more than their evil, Jean managed to save many of cadets' lives, and you saved Connie from a Titan. Even though you might not help us, you're not necessary a bad person."
"Gohan's dead!" Annie replied. Her blood rushed to her vain when she heard the Monkey Boy's name.
"No,he's not!" Armin raised his brows "Though his condition is critical,but he made it."
"He's alive?" Asked Annie.
"We though he was dead when we saw him." Armin continued "But he survives,barely. His current condition is rather dire to the point that people can barely move him in a stretcher. The MP demanded him too, but we can't rescue him because one wrong move can make him fall apart."
"So,he's in Wall Sina?" asked Annie, just before she unslinged the rifle and put it next to the wall.
"Yeah,he's in the convoy earlier, we only managed to get Eren out." Armin eyes saddened
"Alright, I figure he has a lot of faith in people." Annie put a ring on her finger just before she followed Armin "Let's see if he right or not!"
Armin was right, the Military Police checkpoints across Wall Sina were difficult to pass, only Military Police and members of the Wolfpack could get through without being thoroughly search. Just with a few words from Annie, Mikasa,Eren and Armin were able to get pass four checkpoints with their 3D maneuver gears intact.
"Can't believe it was so easy." Remarked Eren. "I don't know whether it is because Annie or the Military Police are terrible at their job."
"Just keep walking!" Said Mikasa.
"If they look a bit closer, I doubt they won't realize it's not me in the carriage." Eren mentioned Scout Regiment plan to disguise Jean as Eren when the MP brought him in. "Jean and I look nothing similar."
"It's close enough , you both have the same angry scowl and the boulder-sized chip on your shoulders." Said Armin.
"Yeah, but I don't have his horse face." Replied Eren.
"So, why didn't you devise a same disguise for Gohan?" Annie turned and asked. "I understand that you three can't bring him with you because of his injuries" Which is a hell of an injury "But why would the Scout Regiment willing to hand him over to the Military Police so easily?"
"From the trial,we acknowledge that the MP don't have any ill-intention with Gohan, unlike to Eren." Explained Armin. "Also,it is a good idea to take Gohan to Wall Sina where he can have access to better medical treatment ."
"I see." Said Annie where she lead them to a stair that lead downward .
"Talking about Gohan, he did tell me something." Mikasa voice was the last thing Annie heard before she felt a pain in the back of her head, she was unable to react to it as everything she saw turned black. The MP fell down the stair and rolled down the floor where the steps ended . Eren and Armin were shocked as they look at the unconscious Annie for halt a minute, then they looked at Mikasa.
"Mikasa, what the hell?" yelled Eren.
"Gohan told me so. I promised him to knock her out before she can have any suspicion. " Answered Mikasa "It didn't go so well the last time people ignore Gohan's advise."
"We were supposed to lead her to the tunnels!" Complained Armin.
"I think she'll get suspicious when she gets there. I'm not taking any chances." Mikasa approached Annie and tuck the MP's armpit over her neck "And I can carry her."
"Fine." Eren went to Annie and carried her other arm. "If she is not the Female Titan, you'll owe her an apology ."
"Okay." Mikasa replied.
Just as Armin, Mikasa and Eren went near the tunnels entrance., the civilian clothing Scouts detachment poured out of their hiding spot and ran to them.
"What is this? I thought you supposed to lure her in?" One of them asked, pointing at the unconscious Annie.
"I know. But I see some flaws in it." Answered Mikasa.
"Well , I think we did it!" Another plain clothed scout commented.
"Just carry her inside then get out of here." The scout officer among them ordered.
Mikasa and Eren turned Annie to the tunnels and took a step forward, the entire scout near the entrance got interrupted by a sound a pulled bolt.
"STOP RIGHT THERE!" the scouts turned to the direction and saw a man with Wolfpack armband pointing a riffle at them. "LET HER GO!"
"Leave her here, you three get down first." Whisper a plain clothed scout,to which Mikasa and Eren dropped Annie and followed Armin down the tunnel.
"Hey, pal. You do not understand. It's not what you think." A scout tried to explain.
"What I think is that you kidnappers are too bold these days." The wolf exclaimed "You commit crime in broad daylight and for the worst of it ….. doing it on a Military Police."
"God damn Wolfpack,they ruining our plan!" Spurred Eren as the trio look up to the situation.
"No, we're not kidnappers . We're member of the Scout Regiment." Another scout explained "This is a part of our mission."
"Screw you, what kind of Scout mission conducted in the interior and involving kidnapping a MP?" The wolf wiggled his riffle "You have a count to three to hand her over or I shoot all of you. In the WSP ,we were trained to make every bullets count, and I have three more clips to spare."
Though her friends were focus on the argument between their fellow scouts and the Beta, Mikasa noticed something else,Annie eyes were slowly struggled to open.
"Oh ,no." She said.
"One" The wolf started counting.
"Listen, you don't understand. This woman is very dangerous." The scouts attempted to explain.
"Two." The wolf ignored what the scout had to say.
To Mikasa despair, Annie eyes had now opened. The ring on her finger revealed a pointing needle. Mikasa knew what about to happen, she grabbed Armin and Eren by the collars and rush them further down to the tunnel.
"Mikasa ,hey!" Screamed Eren.
"Three!"
A collum of lightning burst through the plaincloth detachment blowing them away like ragdolls, the wolf who tried to played hero was deafened by the sound of thunder that quickly followed. A stunned Eren turned around as titan muscle tissue form around Annie as the Female Titan emerged.
John Ingham must have looked like a madman running against the flow of the citizens who were running away from the Female Titan. Back at Lady Winters' castle ,the Alpha had trained the Wolfpack with the ODM Gears just in case of a scenario when the Pack had to face Titans, he also taught them how to fight a Titan with conventional weapons. With just a rifle ,John knew he could not kill a titan ,but his training provided him the tactic to distract the Titans until the more correct equipped arrive.
If it was a different day, Ingham would rather regroup with the pack to be equipped with proper means to kill Titans. However , Gohan was here, in Wall Sina,injured, with the boy capability when he healthy he would be able to save himself, but now, he was going to need the Wolfpack's protection until he recovers.
The Top Beta took a look at the Titan, the skinless Female Titan was a match from the intel he got from the Scout Regiment. The Female Titan was pouncing at the ground , puzzling Jonathan of its action. I think I recognize those buildings, oh crap baskets it's the tunnel's entrances. It was probably either looking for or trying to kill whoever down there. He could not risk letting the person die before he could make sure he or she was high value target, if the person was Gohan – though the possibility was low, he would not take the chance.
When the Titan and the Wolf were only separated by a house ,he quickly sprinted to another building two blocks away and start parkouring on to the roof . He made sure to evade the Titan's attention when he finally climbed to the said roof just before stealthily pakoured down to the otherside. Just before he landed he saw a cloaked figure bursted out of another entrance with ODM gear ,gas poured out of the machine like a pair of two wings.
"Wait, is that one a scout?" Ingham deduced by the color of the cloak. "The hell is he doing in the interior?"
Then he heard another zip of wiring behind, he turn his head to see another scout appear from an entrance and bursted the gas to lunge at the Female Titan. The Titan grabbed the person whole,but blood later splattered as the Titan's fingers collapsed from its hand, the person landed on the ground.
"Don't even think about it!" A feminine voice was let out.
"I think I'm going to need some answers." He back away from the Female Titan . It was a bout ten steps that he tripped into something and fell. The Top Beta immediately recovered and he discovered dozen of dead bodies lying around near an entrance, they were all civilians. Are they? Then he spotted another separate body, with a white armband, a Wolf. He went near the sub Beta to investigate, he was a young brown haired man, Ingham knew him, his name was Vince Karstark , a righteous man with high heroism in his mind, he was among the five that had gone with Gleaves, why was he here?
Ingham worked on his detective instinct to connect the dots of what has happened. The Survey Corps, the Female Titan, civilian corpses , and Vince. He realized all of it, those civilians were no civilians at all, they were scout dressed in plain clothes to apprehend the person who was the Female Titan, and Vince ,with his righteous Heroism mistaken it as a felony and … the Female Titan.
"God damn it ,Vince!" Ingham leaned down to Vince and searched his body which he found four five-bullets-clips.
He unstringed the rifle from his back and held it his hand. The Top Beta turned around,facing the Female Titan,the man was weighting his option. "Whatever!"
"HEY,BITCH!" The Female Titan turned her head to Ingham in response to his cry. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you"
The man aimed the rifle at the Titan's left pupil and quickly emptied the clip into her eye,the process of fire, pull the bolt and repeat was in a matter of 1 second. The Titian screeched in pain before roaring in anger and charged him. Ingham slid to other side to evade the Titan,swiftly inserted a new clip to the rifle while he did.
John Ingham stood up on his two, pulled the bolt on his rifle and wait for the Titan to turn. When it did, John blinded the Titan's remaining eye with 5 shots. He reloaded and bolted away when he saw four scout headed to the Titan with their ODM Gears.
"Don't let her get away, we have to contain her." One the scouts said while they were soaring in the air.
"Looks like I'm done here." Ingham said before having his eyes on a collapsed building "Should I'm a betting man."
"What the hell?" Nile Dowk the moment his entire convoy heard an explosion in the distance, what came next was a column of smoke appear in a distance block . He turned to the escort details who had switched to their ODM Gears in the roofs. "Escort squad, we got It here. Access the situation."
"Yes ,sir."The Squad heeded the order and flew off with their Gears to the area.
"What is going on?" Puzzled the MP Commander,looking at the smoke column . "There was some sort of explosion and then…."
"Nile." Erwin voice disrupted Nile's train of thought . "Dispatch all your men. We should assume a Titan has appear."
"What are you saying?"Said Nile, dismissive toward what Erwin had said. "This is Wall Sina for crying out loud. It is impossible for a Titan to get here."
A carriage door suddenly bursted open and 'Eren Jaeger' came out from said carriage, a MP rifleman stopped him "Get back inside Jaeger!"
"Okay! That's it! I'm done playing doppelganger!" 'Jaeger' removed his wig he wearing to reveal himself as Jean Kirstein to which creamfaced the rifleman. "Don't ever call me that again,stupid ."He ran to Erwin.
"Commander Erwin. Permission to proceed to the mission." He saluted.
"Get your equipment from the 6th squad." Instructed Erwin.
"Roger!"
"Wait,if you weren't Eren Jaeger,then…"Commander Nile Dowk's brain started to process the situation. He ran to the second carriage. "No,please. Please ,no."
He opened the carriage and what he saw make him fear for his life. The Survey Corps did not even bothered to find a person in the right gender to disguise as him. The person inside,ragged with bandages, was definitely female, and her hair was long unlike Gohan's short spikey hair ,the only feature she shared with the Monkey Boy.
"Oh,Lady Winters is going to kill me." Said Nile,before turning to Erwin,who was already put on his ODM Gears. "But,before that, I am going to kill you!"
He pull the bolt of his rifle and pointed the gun at Erwin,to which his subordinate MP and the Wolfpack auxiliaries followed suit.
"What you just did is an outright rebellion against the King. Take off your gears immediately!"Ordered Nile.
"Carolina ,You're dismissed." Said Erwin.
The girl walked out of the Carriage and saluted Erwin.
"Nile! Stand down!" He heard a voices rushing in,before he get to see whose it was,the Wolfpack lowered their weapons.
To Erwin and Nile's surprised ,it was Herman Gleaves who running at them and stopped when he get to them ,panting.
"Mr Gleaves,this man and his unit disregarded a royal decree and failed to deliver Gohan Son and Eren Jaeger to Stohess." Replied Nile.
'So that the two whom Lady Winters wants,the Angel of Trost and the boy who turned into a Titan,nice.' But he brushed the thought off his mind to focus on what was important. "Your fuck-up,then. But we have a bigger fish to fry now. A Titan has appeared and John is heading straight to it. I want you to dispatch your men before the idiot gets himself killed. NOW!"
"Wait, a Titan in Stohess ,sir ?" Asked Nile, before he realized a bigger problem. "And… John… Mr Ingham is there?"
"He is gonna be everywhere if you guys not hurry! GOOOO!" The Top Beta ordered and the Military Police soldier confusedly stared at Nile.
"You heard the man. Get your 3DM Gears and head out." Ordered Nile just as he reconsidered his priorities "Go!Go!Go!"
Just as the MPs moved out to get their gears, Hermann Gleaves proceeded to approach Erwin. "Commander Erwin, the Wolfpack Security Personnel needs to borrow some of your 3D Maneuver Gears in order to be more combat effective."
"It's rather unorthodox for the Survey Corps to working along with the Wolfpack" Said Erwin, couriously .
"Well, first time for everything." Replied Gleaves.
"Sir,we are going there,too?" One of the Wolves asked.
"Of course, John is one of us." The Top beta answered "How hard can it be? Just like training!"
Armin tried his best just to remove a rock from Eren, strength was never his cup of tea. If the Female Titan was not close by,this would be the blonde bookworm's worst nightmare.
"Wake up,Eren. Open your eyes, Eren, we need you!" Armin cried out as he successfully removed one rock from the debris.
"Eren? Eren Jaeger?" A unrecognizable voice startled Armin ,he looked back to see a bald man in a suit and white a blue Wolfpack armband on him.
"Who are you?" confused Armin, what confused him more was that the Wolf was so ill equipped.
"My name is John Ingham. Isn't Jaeger supposed to be in the convoy?" Ingham approached Eren and grabbed a debris with one hand and threw it away easily . "Why is he here?"
"He is needed here?" Armin connected the dots, it was Lady Winters who wanted Eren and Gohan, and she was using the Military Police to do her biding.
"What about Son Gohan?" Said the Beta as he removed the debris from Eren with ease. "I assume he is not in Stohess either. Where is he?"
Before Armin could make any reply,another scout approached them, it was Jean. The horsefaced boy was rushing to them but then he stopped when he saw Ingham.
"Who the fuck is him, Armin?" asked Jean just before he noticed the blue armband to answer his question for him "Blue? The fuck is the Wolfpack doing here?"
"I am here to deter a potential threat to one of our high value assets," Ingham calmly answered ,still removing the debris from Eren. "whom I am convinced was never here in the first place."
"Hey, Armin,shouldn't Eren transformed already?" Jean changed the subject.
"He couldn't . I believe he can't bear the fact that Annie is the Female Titan." Answered Armin .
"Oh,you can't be serious." Grunted Jean "We've been through all of this for what?! You and Gohan dragged us in this regiment so we can protect people and save humanity,but Gohan is not here and you refuse to fucking transform! So what we can protect?! So what we are saving?! You know, Marco …. He …. He didn't.." The scout started to cry.
A collision in the building disrupted, a boulder was coming at them, Armin and Jean quickly used their equipment to evade. Ingham on the other hand chose a different approach, time was like frozen to him for a moment ,he inhaled and exhale and charged to the boulder, successfully stopping it. Could not able to believe their eyes, Armin and Jean were looking at the boulder now lying on the ground, shattered.
"Okay, Mr Jaeger, I don't know who this 'Annie' is. But she is the Female Titan and nobody can do anything to change that."Ingham calmly pushed the dust of his suit. "It's not about what has happened , but what will happen. If you refuse to change, if you just lie down and accept it, people are going to die. The people in the Stohess, the scouts in the Survey Corps, your friends, they are going to die. And their blood will be on your hands." The Beta looked back to see that Eren has awaken .
"H … how?" Asked Jean, he never seen any one could pull of such a trick beside Gohan, especially not some civilian.
"Let's leave Eren Jaeger be for now. If he transforms ,he transforms." Ingham headed to Armin and Jean. "I need you two to take me to your field commander, I have some questions that need to be answered."
"Sir,we need to lure it to a trap." Answered Armin.
"You don't mind some extra weight ,do you?" Ingham replied. In response Jean offered him his back,to which Ingham crossed his arms around Jean's chest. Without further ado , Jean and Armin shot up cables and bursted the gas ,carrying Ingham.
The scout traversed from buildings to buildings, but their path was block by a giant obstacle named the Female Titans. The creature had her eyes on them just as soon as the trio noticed it,causing the ODM gears wielders to slower their paces.
"Oh no, she's onto us!" Shouted Jean when he saw the Female Titan was approaching them.
"Keep going."Ingham rested his rifle on Jean shoulder ,quickly pulled the bolt ,aimed and emptied the clip to the Titan's eyes ,resulted the creature to recoil with it eyes steaming.
Jean and Armin shot lines of cable and continued on their journey, and the three successfully passed the Creature,not for long before the Female Titan recovered and resumed her persue.
"She's onto us again!" Shouted Jean, he need not to look back to access the situation.
"Like I've said before, keep going!" Ingham did not attempt to shoot the Annie this time.
"This direction!" Said Armin as he was making a turn ,gas emitted through the ODM Gears' rotors as the scouts and wolf hovered across the blocks with the Female Titan on their heels.
Ingham figured out the Scouts' plan the moment he saw other scouts waiting in ambush on the streets he heading to. The Female Titan did not see the ambush, she was focusing on the two scouts and their passenger, she lunged her arm in an attempt to catch them . The extra weight almost cost Jean and Armin their lives should the ambushers did not fire the harpoons guns ,trapping the Titan. Ingham looked back to the Titan exactly the moment it collapsed to the ground.
The moment the Survey Corps covered the Female Titan with a spiked net was the moment Armin ,Jean and Ingham reunited with Hange, along with Mikasa .
"So you staged the delivery of Son Gohan and Eren Jaeger, challenged the Lady and the Wolfpack, played the MPs." The rest of the scouts finally noticed John Ingham when he spoke. "All that troubles, just to capture this … young lady with eating disorder?"
"You heard that, darling? He just called you fat!" Said Hange to the Female Titan. "This Beta and his pack bite much harder than your friends you called to eat you."
Ingham was resting his rifle on his shoulders examining the Titan ,he found the Female Titan rather familiar . Jonathan …. John Ingham felt like he had met her in person before. Then he was interrupted by a tap on his other shoulder. There goes my train of thought.
"What're you doin' here ,Beta?" Ingham knew this man,but he did not know Ingham,the question was asked by Levi Ackerman, whom John had seen in the trial beating up Jaeger and the Champion.
"Well ,since Son Gohan is ….. thought to be here . And I have a duty guard him until he recovers ." Ingham replied. "But apparently ,I don't have to . You…..however ,will have to explain yourselves to Lady Winters of Castle Jutnar."
"Wait! What do you people want with Gohan?" John Ingham sighed and looked at an amber headed girl scout. "Also you say his name wrong,it is Gohan Son not Son Gohan."
"You won't understand."Replied Ingham ,he revealed a grin. The Beta ignored Petra and turned his attention to Hange "What're you planning to do with her?"t
Hange drew her sword and pointed it into the Female Titan's Eye. "You know what? The first time we captured it, it called out for other Titans to come and devour her flesh, Annie Leonhardt Escaped that way." The hyperactive squad leader leaned towards the Titan, her twisted eyes sent shivers down the Titan's spine. "YOU won't be able to pull that one here again, unfortunately. Wall Sina is rather fall away from your friend,they can't come to bite you. I can fill that part. Taking the bite of every pieces of information you're keeping."
Annie did not like the sound to that, she struggled and use all her energy trying to break free. The scout didn't take it as serious until her restrains started to shake heavily .
"She is trying to escape!" yelled Oulo,the soldier suddenly had a flashback about the Female Titan back in the Expedition. "Don't let her!"
"It appears that she doesn't like what you just said." Said Ingham to Hange, the Top Beta crossed his armed in curiosity to the commotion . Then he had something on his attention beside the Titan,in an alley between the buildings near the scouts,a massive cart with its content being covered by a blanket.
Before he could approach the cart, however, the harpoon guns and ropes jerked into the air,the Female Titan broke free. She proceeded to ran away as soon as she regained her footing, knocking down several unlucky Scouts who did not evade in time in the process . Fortunately for Ingham, he managed to break into a house to avoid any impact Annie could cause.
If the Alpha and/or the Lady,or anyone at all, could read Ingham's mind, he would be absolutely frown upon. With all the thing happening around him revolving the Female Titan, yet the only thing on his mind was the cart with the cover. The many years of detective training had imprinted on him an instinct that made him realized something was very wrong with the cart. It took him couples of minutes to think until a thunderous sound interrupted him. He recovered and casually walked out of the house and saw the afterimage of what seem to be a column of lightning bolts.
"So Eren Jaeger has transformed. Perfect!" Ingham did his best to get the attention of the scouts who didn't go in persue the Female Titan. "Now,that Female Titan has someone to take care of her. You guys,however, have me!"
Petra,Oulo and Gunther had no idea why the Top Beta walking toward the Regiment Logistic Cart, they only know that the captain ordered them to stay with the explosive when the Titan broke free.
"I come here for some answers. Now I have more questions ." The Beta Approach the cart and grabbed the cover and ripped it right off, reaveling dozens of yellow blocks of explosive in side the content. "Can you tell me what are these?"
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHAT ARE THOSE? Those are standard issue military explosive of the Survey Corps."Oulo boldly answer.
"Incorrect! At least do some research of the products before stealing them. These are the Semtex that have been missing from the Winter Industry Storage." The very Semtex the Alpha was assigned to find. Ingham never thought he would be the one who found them. "What're you planning to do with them?"
"Well, Beta," Petra unwillingly answered Ingham. "the Female Titan crystalizes her certain parts,she makes it difficult to get whoever inside out, so we….."
"Wish to use the highend plastic explosive to get her out?!" Interrupted Ingham, who facepalmed his face "And how will you detonate them? Your primitive det cord ? Semtex doesn't work that way! It needs a degsinated trigger to trigger it! There are only two triggers in this world ,and the only two people who have them are not here."
And a sound of combursting heat in the air interrupted the scouts and the Beta, the Beta and the scout looked at the source to see a red flare flying up to the sky.
"Wha…What? I don't recall Captain said anything about firing a flare!" Exclaimed Gunther,his eyes followed the flare as it rose and eventually fell.
'Wait,no gunshot!' Ingham didn't recall the military had any suppressed flaregun ,unless it was gren… "It's the Alpha!" How could it be anyone else? "He has a trigger! Only he can detonate the Semtex!"
"The Alpha?" Puzzled Gunther "What's he doing here? How did you know it him ?"
"Finding the Semtex is his assigned mission." For a first time,he showed joy to the others' naked eyes, why shouldn't he ? His mentor ,the Alpha was watching over him. "Lady and gentlemen, this gives me an idea, or in other words, he gives me an idea." The SOS eyed him nervously. "Where the Titan went?"
In a distance bell tower, the Alpha was standing on its roof ,overseeing everything below with a pair of binoculars . The glass followed John Ingham and the unknown scouts pushing the Semtex cart to the direction which the Female Titan escaped. He was interrupted by a roar,which belong to the masculine Titan who chased after the Female Titan. He would joyfully join the battle, but he would certainly expose the modern equipment he wearing to the public if he did, so he reluctantly put his faith on Eren Jaeger and John Ingham for now.
"I can only help you this far!"He took out the detonator from his ammo pouch and observed Ingham again. "Good luck, Jonathan!"
