Perseus Jackson, a son of the king of Neptunia, and a mortal demigoddess, Sally Jackson, daughter of Pontus, the primordial god of the sea. He was an illegitimate child of house Poseidon which ruled the Kingdom of Neptunia. They were one of the most elite and high kingdoms; they often stayed out of war even though they had a vast military, they traded with everyone they could.
Amphitrite and Triton had accepted both Sally and Percy into the kingdom and palace - this was unknown to them, but that was because Sally's father was Pontus; they didn't want to anger such an old spirit, who had such power that he could possibly take their kingdom from them.
Percy was running- running through the streets, weaving his way through people and objects. You may ask what he was running from– or rather, who he was running from?
"PERSEUS JACKSON, GET BACK HERE!" A woman- Sally, his mother, yelled, Percy just kept running, his mother was a person who you didn't want to get on the bad side of; he knew this very well, yet he still ran.
He let out rushed apologies to those he accidentally bumped into, the footsteps of his mother growing closer and closer– damn his mother could move fast when she wanted to. He skidded to a halt at a crossroad, stumbling a bit before taking down the street again, heading towards the sea.
Sure, his mother was a daughter of the Sea just as much as he was, having lived near it nearly her whole life, but Percy… he was better at navigating it, much to her chagrin.
You must be wondering what Percy did to annoy his mother, well he stole all the blue cookies that were meant for Poseidon, Amphitrite, Triton and him. As he reached the open ocean, he did the only thing he could think of, and dived in swimming to the bottom at speed, hoping to his father that Sally wouldn't find him.
After 10 minutes, Percy finally surfaced again, Sally scowling as she awaited her son, he swam back to her, and as he reached her, Sally slapped him hard. Leaving his cheek red "MOM!" He complained.
"Don't steal all the cookies next time then Perseus!"
Percy meekly nodded, and rubbed his cheek "Sorry Mom." He said as they walked back towards their home. Yes, Percy lived in a home with his mother and not in the palace.
Their home was grand compared to others houses; they had a large front and back garden, their living space was large so was their kitchen, and they both had large bedrooms as well, and there was enough room for Percy and Sally to train alone or together in a separate area. Which they often did, both training in either their powers or with their weapons of choice.
Percy used Anaklusmos, while his mother used a sword called 'προστάτης'-- meaning Protector. It was around 4 feet, and celestial bronze just like his. She never told him where she had gotten it, although he didn't ask much; she'd always had it, and Percy could hardly remember when it wasn't somewhere around the house.
Sally made him sit and gently pressed a warm hand to his face. "You're too old to be stealing all the cookies, Percy." She told him, pressing a kiss to his forehead before she moved into the kitchen. "But you're forgiven. Just don't do it again."
"I won't." He said. "I promise."
She ruffled his hair. "Now go clean up before dinner."
Poseidon was sitting in his castle, a magnificent edifice that dominated the landscape with its grandeur. The castle was vast in size, every detail exuding an air of regal opulence. It had a deep, ominous moat that circled the kingdom, teeming with sharks that patrolled the waters with silent menace. Encircling the entire realm, the outer walls stood as a formidable barrier, safeguarding the castle and its inhabitants.
Within these impregnable walls lay the heart of Poseidon's domain. Percy and Sally's home was nestled here, a cozy haven amidst the majesty. Nearby, a bustling mini market thrived, where townsfolk bartered goods and shared stories. Expansive farmlands stretched out, their crops swaying in the gentle breeze, providing sustenance for the kingdom. The military barracks stood strong and disciplined, housing the brave warriors who pledged their loyalty to Poseidon.
The castle itself was a staggering 65 meters tall and stretched a colossal 1000 meters in length. Its interiors were a labyrinth of splendor: grand banquet halls where feasts fit for gods were held, numerous bedrooms and bathrooms each more luxurious than the last, a throne room that echoed with authority, and an armory brimming with weapons forged for legends.
Hidden within its depths, a panic room offered sanctuary in times of peril, while the horse stables bustled with activity, their steeds ready for any journey. Outside, grand gardens flourished, a riot of color and fragrance, offering a serene retreat amidst the grandeur.
The castle's towers pierced the sky, their spires glinting in the sunlight, while its halls were adorned with tapestries and treasures from distant lands. Every corner of Poseidon's castle whispered tales of power, legacy, and the ceaseless ebb and flow of the ocean's might.
Poseidon was planning a royal ball, a grand royal ball at that. He would be trying to marry off both his children, Triton and Perseus. The ball would happen in a month's time, all the gods would be invited to bring their children as well, so they could all find potential suitors. Poseidon's balls tended to be even more grander than the one's Zeus threw– although no one would say it, of course–and to be invited was a high honor.
Percy and Sally often banqueted with Poseidon and his family but tonight, they decided they would rather have a home-cooked meal, beef stew is what Sally would be cooking. They didn't know about Poseidon's plan and they wouldn't until Percy and Triton were suited and sent onto the floor to meet their potential suitors.
Poseidon smiled to himself. Triton and Perseus really did need someone around them; it was getting a bit sad to see them alone, clinging to their jobs. Of course, Triton had more friends around than Perseus, which was perhaps better, but it left a bad taste in the Kings' mouth about his sons' future.
If his sons were not married, then the line couldn't continue, and that would be horrible! The King thought, leaning his head against his hand and he looked over his plans. He had included both men and women and anyone of the sort who were eligible; he didn't discriminate, and of course he knew his sons well enough to know they would much prefer to have options among their potential lovers, and potential lovers would bring strong alliance with others.
He leaned back in his chair, a smile some would call menacing and others' would say delighted on his face; he couldn't wait for next months' ball.
Triton was training alongside the main army, he had his own small force but was currently training his father's army, which he held the rank of Marshal in, just below his father as the monarch, Poseidon had made it so that both Triton and Percy were Marshal's.
After Percy and Sally's dinner, Percy had decided to go read a book, or atleast try his best to read a book. He suffered with ADHD and dyslexia, like every other demigod does, not that he really knew other demigods, he knew he had cousins and stuff from the other gods, but he hadn't met any and that includes the gods as they often sent a messenger to meet Poseidon, or if they did send a demigod child, Percy was otherwise busy.
House Poseidon's military was strong to say the least, they had thousands of soldiers, all ranking differently and they had a vast Navy, with at least 21 ships. The navy often runs exercises in the open ocean to keep on top.
In secret Poseidon and Amphitrite had started prepping the ball hall, the hall itself was grand, the design reflected the old kingdom of Atlantis and Olympus. It had high ceilings, chandlers, tables and chairs. It also had 13 small guest thrones, and 2 thrones that outsized the rest, all the thrones reflected how Olympus used to be. However, Poseidon's and Amphitrite were in the center of them all.
Poseidon seemed to slink into thought, thinking about how Olympus became 13 different kingdoms.
It was days before the Romans had finished their invasion of Greece, and somehow the Greeks managed to band together and push out the invaders, also taking over Roman and then the rest of Europe, the Greek gods were more powerful than ever now. They were worshiped all over, their power only grew, and has it grew they all got more cocky and infighting began to happen more, so Hestia- the peaceful goddess who didn't want to see her family end up being reformed or faded, suggested they all split into separate kingdoms under the rule of their own, that would stop the infighting
The gods did this, many minor gods splitting off into this new kingdoms, in Neptunia the minor sea gods like Triton, Kymoploeia were worshiped a lot more, therefore Poseidon's mastery over the sea grew, as his children were happy and not forgotten
He was startled out of his thoughts, when Triton walked in. "Father, why is the ball hall closed off?"
Poseidon, thinking of a lie, answered, "Because we are renovating it, son." he gave a smirk, Triton nodded, not believing the lie but he knew better than to question his father.
