Right now, Serena and Winona are standing on the podiums, while Ash, May and Max, are seating on the bench, at the side of the pillar on which Serena is standing. Zachary, as the referee for the match, is standing at the small platform, at the side of the battlefield.
It was decided on the way to the gym that Serena is going to go and have her battle first, while Ash will go after that. There is a possibility that Ash will have to wait until later that day, or even tomorrow, depending on the Pokemon Winona uses, but he isn't really bothered by that, though he would have loved to finish it all today.

"Honchkrow, I chose you!" Winona released her first Pokemon, which turned out to be a Dark/Flying Type, Honchkrow.

"When did Noibat evolve?" Ash wondered, as this was a news for him.
"What do you mean?" Max asked.
"The last time I saw this Pokemon, it was in its pre-evolved from, which is called, Noibat," Ash said. "That was when we left Pallet Town, to come here in the Hoenn Region. As such, I'm surprise that he evolved."
"Well, it probably evolved at Professor Oak's Lab, where it's staying," Max said. "He probably trained, and evolved. Maybe even some other of Serena's Pokemon have evolved that way."
"Maybe." Ash said, before he went back to look at the battle, which is about to start.
"A Noivern," Winona said with surprise in her voice, when she saw Serena's Pokemon. "That's some rare Pokemon you've got there, Serena."
"Yeah," Serena spoke. "I got him as a Noibat, when I was traveling through Johto Region, during a Swap Meet gathering."
"You're lucky," Winona said. "They are really hard to find outside of the Kalos Region."

Just then, Zachary decided that it's time to start the battle. "BEGIN!"
"Honchkrow, start this off with Shadow Ball!" Winona started the battle.
"Noivern, dodge and use Tackle!" Serena countered.
Honchkrow created black and purple ball of energy in front of its beak, before it fired it at Noivern. Noivern flew away from the ball, though, and then flew straight at Winona's Pokemon, tackling in from the sky and all the way down to the battlefield.
Honchkrow got up quickly, though, looking good, and undamaged. Winona then told it to use Haze, followed up with Night Slash. Honchkrow started flapping its wings, releasing a thick black smoke from them, which spread around the air covering Noivern, and preventing it from seeing anything.
Serena told her Pokemon to fly up, and out of the smoke, but just as Noivern came out from the smoke, he was hit by one of Honchkrow's wings, which glowed purple.
Noivern was dealt a bit of damage, by a powerful Dark Type move, but wasn't taken out, yet. Serena told him to use Acrobatic, before, Noivern's body glowed light-blue, and he quickly zipped through the air.
Winona countered this with Aerial Ace, making the two Pokemon collide with each other in the air, causing them to hurt each other, before they both fell on the battlefield.
The two part Flyting Type Pokemon were able to get up from the ground, but they were both in pain from the clash. Still, they are not defeated yet, so Serena and Winona decided to continue.
Serena told her Noivern to use Boomburst, while Winona said to her Honchkrow, to use a Dark Pulse.
Noivern's ears glowed white and he then fired a blast of powerful white sound waves from them at Honchkrow. Honchkrow fired a beam of black and purple rings of energy from it beak. The two attacks clashed with each other, before Noivern's attack proved to be more powerful, and broke through the Dark Pulse, and hit Honchkrow, causing an explosion, which sent Dark/Flying Type straight down to the battlefield.
Seeing her chance to win the round, Serena told her Noivern to use Dragon Claw and finish the battle.
A light-green aura formed around each of Noivern's hands making them turn into a claw-like shape. Noivern then flew at Honchkrow - who was trying to get up - and strikes it with the claws, first with one, then with the other.
Noivern dealt even more damage to an already injured Pokemon, making it fall back on the battlefield, and pass out.
"Honchkrow is unable to battle," the referee announced! "The winner of the first round is Noivern! Gym leader! Chose you second Pokemon!"
"Great job, Noivern," Serena congratulated to her Pokemon, making him smile at her, happy because of the win, and because of the praise.
Ash, May and Max were also happy that Serena won the first round, as that means that she is in the lead now.
"It's good that she won the first round, but there is still a long way to go, before she wins the whole match," Ash said, getting curios looks from Max and May. "Remember, Serena still needs to defeat two other of Winona's Pokemon, and they are most likely more powerful then Honchkrow, which means that they will be much more difficult to defeat. Not to mention that at this point, Noivern is also tired and hurt. I doubt he will last more than one or two attacks in the next round, which would leave them both with two Pokemon."
"I'm sure that Serena will win this," Max said with a smile. "I don't think that Noivern is the strongest Pokemon she chose for this, and if Winona's other two Pokemon are stronger then Honchkrow, then most likely Serena's other Pokemon are stronger than Noivern."
"We'll see." Ash said, before he got back to watching the battle, just as Winona chose her second Pokemon. A Pidgeot, and this one looks twice as big as the regular Pidgeot.
"Damn, that's one big Pidgeot," Serena commented as she saw her next opponent. "It's probably as big as Amber's."
Winona heard what Serena said, and raised her eyebrows. "Are you talking about Amber Ketchum?" Winona asked, getting curious looks from Serena and Ash.

"I remember that Pidgeot," Winona said. "Amber was one of the better trainers I've faced lately. We had an amazing battle, when she used that Pidgeot of hers, to battle against my Dragonite."
"Really?" Serena questioned with raised eyebrows.
"Yes," Winona said. "I recognized her from the Silver Conference and wanted to battle her at her best. So we both used three of our best Pokemon. She used Pidgeot, Charizard and Latias, thought that final one was my request, as I wanted to battle against a legendary Pokemon."

"It sure was," Winona said, before she became serious. "Now, let's restart this battle."
Serena agreed, and after she decided to stay with her Noivern, Zachary started the second round.
This round didn't even last one full minute. All it happened is that Noivern used Supersonic, but Winona told her Pidgeot to use Protect, which has saved her Pokemon from a lot of pain. After that, the battle was finished in one move, when Winona told her Pidgeot to use Aerial Ace on Noivern. Serena's Flying/Dragon Type, crashed onto the battlefield and was out like a light.
Serena recalled her Noivern, thanked him for a nice battle, before she took another Poke Ball, looked at it, smirked, and then called her second Pokemon. "Come to battle, Ninetales!" Serena shouted, as she released her Pokemon, which was a huge surprise for everyone, as except Ash, no one else have ever seen a Ninetales like this.
"What it that," Winona asked with wide eyes? "I've never seen a Ninetales like that one. The color is completely different."
"This is Alolan Ninetales," Serena said. "Some Pokemon have different forms in other regions. It's because of the different environments, that some Pokemon, develop differently. They look different, and even have different types, compared to what we know. Alolan Ninetales, is one such variation."
"I never knew that there are regional variations of Pokemon," Winona said with a surprised look on her face. "I guess I have a whole lot more to see and learn. This world seems to be much bigger place then I thought."

Ninetales then went with Ice Beam, which Pidgeot dodged, and then went in with Wing Attack, hitting Ninetales head-on, and dealing her some damage. She was still fine though, and can battle, so Serena told her Ninetales to use Blizzard, once more.
Winona once again, countered the Blizzard with Hurricane, but this time, Serena went on the offense, and told her Ninetales to use Dazzling Gleam. Ninetales was surrounded in rainbow-colored energy, which then expanded like a pulse, and hit Pidgeot, bringing it down to the battlefield.
Pidgeot managed to get up, though, and Winona told it to use Air Slash. Pidgeot's wings glowed light blue and it flapped them, releasing multiple light blue glowing saw disc-like energy blades from the wings at Ninetales, who jumped around, dodging some of them, but some managed to hit, giving her some damage.
Ninetales stood strong though. She wasn't going to be taken out that easily, and will fight to the end. Serena told her to use Ice Beam, which Ninetales fired, but Pidgeot dodged. Immediately though, Serena followed this with Iron Tail, making all the tails of her Pokemon glow silver, before they hardened, and she jumped high in the air and summersaulted straight at Pidgeot, who was caught off guard, and didn't avoid the attack.
Pidgeot was hit straight on the face, and sent crashing onto the battlefield, where it lifted some dust from the ground, and was covered from sight.
Serena finished the battle, by telling her Ninetales to use Hyper Beam, which hit Pidgeot just as the dust around it cleared, and showed Pidgeot, getting up from the ground, to get back into the fight. Unfortunately for it and Winona, the Hyper Beam hit dead-on, and Pidgeot was sent rolling on the ground, all the way out of the battlefield, and hit the base of the pillar, where Winona was standing.
"Pidgeot is unable to continue," Zachary announced! "The third round goes to Alolan Ninetales! Gym leader, chose your final Pokemon!"
Winona recalled her Pidgeot, and thanked it for a nice battle, before she took her final Poke Ball for her battle against Serena. "Good job, Serena," Winona said. "But let's see how you do against my star Pokemon. Salamence, I chose you!"
A large blue Dragon/Flying Type Pokemon, came out from the Poke Ball, and stood on all four, at Winona's side of the battle field. It looked even more menacing then normal, as it was glaring at the Ninetales, who wasn't showing fear, on the contrary. She was showing defiance, as she was glaring at her new opponent.
"Damn," Max said looking wide-eyed at Winona's last Pokemon! "I really wasn't expecting a Salamence!"
"It's a part flying types, so Winona has the right to use it," Ash shrugged, not really bothered by this. He knows that Serena can handle herself, in any kind of situation, including this one. He does wonder though. Can Winona Mega Evolve her Salamence? Because if she can… then Serena will be in trouble, regardless of who her final Pokemon ends up being.
"BEGIN!" The referee started the fourth round.
Serena started immediately, telling her Ninetales to use Blizzard. As a Dragon/Flying Type, Salamence has a huge weakness against Ice Type Attacks, and Serena hopes to use that to her advantage, right from the start.
Ninetales cried out to the sky, summoning a large Blizzard, which was MUCH stronger than the one she summoned in the battle against Pidgeot. Ninetales knew that Salamence is stronger than Pidgeot, and will need to go all out to win this, so she decided to put much more power behind her attacks.
The Blizzard spread around the battlefield, and the entire Fortree City Gym, completely enveloping the entire place, and making everyone who looked at it from the outside think that they are suddenly on top of some mountain, with eternal snow and hail on it. Even the temperature in the entire city and the surrounding area, dropped significantly, because of the monstrous blizzard, Alolan Ninetales has created.
"What the hell," May shouted through the blizzard, which was covering everything in show and ice! "This is unbelievable! How can Ninetales affect weather to this point?"
"Any Pokemon - if strong enough - can do stuff like this," Ash said. "I have several Pokemon who can do things even worse then this, trust me."
As powerful as it is, Salamence is still affected by cold, and as such, it started getting frost bites, form the Blizzard created by Alolan Ninetales. Winona was shocked by the power Serena's Pokemon has, but she wasn't going to surrender, just because her Pokemon is in a disadvantage, and hurt a little bit. She told her Salamence to use, Incinerate, to counter the Blizzard.
Salamence created a fireball with a bright center and black highlights, before it shot it at the ground. It quickly followed it up with another ball, and another and another, before the entire battlefield was lit aflame, which was battling against the snowstorm, caused by Ninetales's Blizzard.
The battle between heat and cold, lasted for a few moments, before the entire battlefield and the area around the gym, was covered in mist, shutting down everyone's vision of everything.
It took several minutes for the mist to clear enough for the Pokemon to see each other, and the trainers to see them. Immediately, Serena told her Ninetales to use Ice Beam, but Winona told her Salamence to counter it with Flamethrower.
The clash caused an explosion mid-air, so neither Pokemon were affected by it, and could continue on with the battle. Winona went with Dragon Pulse, but it was countered by Ninetales's Dazzling Gleam. Then Ninetales went with Iron Tail, but Salamence countered it with Dragon Claw.
This went on for a while, both Pokemon throwing attacks at each other, neither gaining an advantage, until it became obvious that Salamence has gotten the advantage, as it is fresher, and can outlast Ninetales, who has already battled against Pidgeot.
Soon, Salamence used Dragon Breath, which Ninetales wasn't able to counter, and took her out of the battle, winning the round, and leaving Serena with her final Pokemon.
"Damn, she lost," Max said, as she watched Serena recall her Ninetales. "And she was so close."
"Maybe not," Ash said. "I don't think that this is all that Salamence can do. Ninetales is powerful, but it's not Serena's strongest Pokemon, while Salamence is Winona's strongest Pokemon. I think that there is more to this Salamence then it has shown so far."
"Do you think that Winona can Mega Evolve it?" May caught where Ash was going with this.
"Probably." Ash said, before he focused back on the battle, just as Serena was to call her last Pokemon.
"Dragonite, I chose you!" Serena released her third and last Pokemon in today's battle, and it turned out to be a Dragonite. A Pseudo-Legendary Pokemon, to battle against another pseudo-legendary Pokemon. It was a good decision on Serena's part.
Everyone but Ash, were surprise when they saw that Serena sent out a Dragonite. They weren't expecting that, but then again, Winona chose a Salamence, so why Serena shouldn't chose a Dragonite, which is also Dragon/Flying type Pokemon.
"Are you ready for this, Dragonite," Serena asked her Pokemon? Dragonite looked at her and smiled, making Serena smile back, before they both looked at Winona and her Salamence, who were both looking wary at Dragonite. They both knew that Dragonite is going to be much harder opponent to beat then Alolan Ninetales, and that Ice Pokemon did quite a bit of damage to Salamence.
As such, Winona decided not to take any chances, and will go all out from the start of the round. "You know, Amber made me go all out with Salamence, but that was only because she was using Latias as her final Pokemon. I can't be sure if she would have been able to do that if she was using a regular Pokemon, but seeing that your Ninetales did as good as she did against my Salamence, and now you chose a Dragonite to be your last Pokemon, I'm not so sure that I would be able to win this, without going all out. So," she removed her right glove from her hand, revealing a Key Stone attached to an armband. "It's time for, Mega Evolution!"
Winona's Key Stone started to glow, while at the same time, a Mega Stone which was attached to a collar around Salamence's neck, started to glow as well. The lights started to come out from the stones, before they connected, and Salamence was enveloped in multi-colored light for a few seconds, before the glow disappeared, revealing a Salamence floating mid-air, looking different than it did before.
Salamence has Mega Evolved.
The battle has started right away, as neither trainer wanted to drag this out, more than it already did.
"Salamence, use Dragon Breath!" Winona shouted. Salamence fired a light blue beam of energy from its mouth, at the Dragonite.
"Dragonite, dodge and use Iron Tail!" Serena countered. Dragonite dodged the breath attack from Salamence, before his tail glowed silver, and hardened. Dragonite flew at Salamence to hit it, but Winona countered this with Iron Tail, making the two attacks hit each other, and causing a large boom to spread across the battlefield and the surrounding area.
"Dragonite, use Thunderbolt!" Serena called.
"Salamence, counter it with Flamethrower!"
The two attacks clashed mid-air, creating an explosion, which shock the whole Fortree Gym, and made everyone shield their eyes from the heat which was produced by the explosion.
"Hurricane, Dragonite!" Serena called. Dragonite flapped his wings, releasing multiple green crescent-shaped blades of energy at Mega Salamence. Unfortunately, Salamence used Protect, and created a barrier in front of itself, shielding itself from Dragonite's attack.
"Use Dragon Rush!" Serena said. Dragonite's horn glows blue and releases a blue, dragon-shaped energy that covered his body. He then flew at Mega Salamence, just as the Protect run out, and slammed into the Mega Pokemon, full force, sending it crushing into the battlefield, where the crush lifted a dust cloud which cover the Pokemon and hid it from the sight.
"Come one, Salamence, you are not done yet," Winona called her Pokemon, who roared from inside of the dust cloud, and the soundwave from the roar, cleared the smoke, showing the Pokemon was back in the air. "Great! Now use Flamethrower!"
Mega Salamence fired a very powerful fire attack, which hit Dragonite head on, and caused it some burns, but didn't take him down from the sky.
"Let's keep this going, Dragonite," Serena said to her Pokemon, who nodded. "Use Dragon Dance, followed by Draco Meteor!"
Dragonite's body become surrounded in orange energy, before he spins around several times, enhancing his attack power and speed.
"Salamence, use Hyper Beam, followed by Dragon Rush!" Winona said. Mega Salamence fired a beam of yellow and orange energy from its mouth, straight at Dragonite, while at the same time, a sphere of purple energy forms inside of Dragonite's mouth and he fired it into the sky, where it exploded and released multiple purple-glowing meteors that started raining down on the battlefield and Mega Salamence. Just as the meteors started to rain down, Dragonite was hit by a Hyper Beam, which was powerful enough to send it backwards toward the ground, where he crushed. Salamence then flew at Dragonite, surrounded by a bright blue aura, while at the same time, it was hit by several of the meteors, causing it damage.
Mega Salamence hit Dragonite head-on, causing a big explosion, before a bunch of meteors rained down on both Pokemon, causing even more explosions and destruction.
Everyone had to shield their eyes and faces from the heat and dust, which was spread around the battlefield, as they waited to see the end results of the clash.
It took over a minute for the dust to clear out, only to show that both Dragonite and Salamence, were lying on the ground, Salamence in its normal form. They both seem to be unconscious.
"Both Dragonite and Salamence are unable to continue," Zachary, as a referee for the match, announced! "As both trainers have no Pokemon left, the match ends in a draw!"
"Well, I did not expect that," Ash said with raised eyebrows, when he saw that the match ended in a draw. He really thought that someone will win… not necessarily Serena, but there would be a winner. He never thought of a match ending in a draw.
"What will happen now," May asked? "Will Serena get the badge?"
"It depends on the gym leader," Ash said. "Sometimes, they can judge that the trainer is worthy of the badge, and give it to them, but sometimes, they will not give it, and the challenger will have to return for another battle."
"What do you suggest we do now, Serena?" Winona suddenly asked Serena, much to her surprise.
"What do you mean," Serena asked back? "It's a draw, so it's up to you to decide on what to do."
"Yes," Winona nodded, "and I think that you most definitely deserve the Fortree Gym badge, and I will gladly give it to. What I was asking though, is if you are willing to do one more round, just to make sure that there is a winner."
"But if I lose, I don't get the badge?" Serena questioned, with raised eyebrows.
"No, you will still get the badge," Winona said. "But I don't like draws. I always want to have a clean win, or a loss. Draws are not good for me, nor for the opponent."
"Hm," Serena hummed, thinking about Winona's offer. She has no problem with it, if she is going to get the badge, even if she loses. Then again, if she loses, and gets the badge, then she might not feel good about it. Also, she has a Pokemon with her, which she planned to use in this battle, before Winona offered to use their strongest Pokemon. This Pokemon needs one or two more battles, to evolve, and a battle like this, is exactly what it needs. In the end, Serena decided to accept another round. "Fine. We can fight another round, but this time, I will not use one of my strongest Pokemon. The Pokemon I will use, is around the level necessary to fight and win in a Regional Tournament. It's actually one of the Pokemon I planned to use, before you suggested we do a battle with our strongest Pokemon."
Winona thought about it, and decided to accept that. "Ok," she said. "Then I will use one of my mid-level Pokemon. It's too strong to use in gym battles, but not as strong as the ones I used so far."
"I can agree to that."
Zachary announced an additional round for the Fortree Gym badge, between Winona and Serena, before he told them to release their Pokemon.
Winona went first and released a Braviary, much to the surprise of Serena, and her friends. Serena and Ash didn't think that Winona would have a Unova Region Pokemon, while May and Max, have never seen that Pokemon, so they knew nothing of it.
Serena then went and release her Golbat.
The two Pokemon floated in the air, across of each other, waiting for the battle to start.
"BEGIN!" Zachary started the round.

God. FUCK! I hate writing Pokemon battles. These last two chapter took me forever to write, because of Serena's battle against Aarune and Winona, and still, the battles are shit. I know that, and there is nothing I can change about that. I simply don't know how to write Pokemon Battles, or battles in general. The same goes for lemons, which is why I still haven't tried my hand in lemons for this story. And don't even get me started on the Contests. I can write battles and lemons somehow, but contests are completely different.
As such, I'm asking you all who read my stories, to not put too much thought into the battles and lemons. They are not that important as the overall story, to the point that many of you would complain and say how the story sucks, because of the bad battles and lemons. I know they suck, but as I said, I can't do better, and while I could ask someone to help me in writing the stories and write battles and lemons for me, while I do everything else; I just don't feel like doing that, and want to write my own stories by myself, regardless of how they turn out to be in the end. It's not like I gain anything from this, so I don't have to write some masterpiece.
