I tried to stay up last night, to wait for Rebekah to come back home. However, she was taking too long and I eventually fell asleep. And after that long day, the nap was very much needed.
However, the next morning was strange. Rebekah was still not back yet. That means Elijah is not back either. And that also means that Nik is going to hear a handful from me.
"NIK!" I scream in the house. I have no idea where he is, and I could look around for him, but I don't have the energy to. Besides, what's the point of having a brother with vampire hearing if he won't come to you at a simple call.
Or a louder call.
I hear noise coming from upstairs. I wait at the bottom of the staircase for my brother to come down. I see him approaching the top of the staircase with an annoyed face.
"Kalle, you better have a good reason for screaming at eight in the morning." Nik states, irritated, and I cross my arms.
"Where's Rebekah?" I question as he reaches the bottom of the stairs. He opens his mouth to answer, but then turns his attention to the door, before he smiles.
"Right there." I turn around, to see Rebekah storming into the house angrily, without Elijah. This can't be good.
"You were right. The girl, Cami, she's the key." Rebekah states to Nik, and I look at the both of them questioning.
"I'm sorry, who is Cami?"
"The solution to our problems," Nik says with a smirk, and Rebekah nods her head.
"Marcel likes her, and because of that, I got to see his secret weapon you've been going on about." She explains, and I look at her intrigued.
"Well don't stand on ceremony, spit it out." Nik states rudely.
"It's not a what, it's a who. A girl, Davina. She can't be more than 16." Rebekah explains. A sixteen-year-old girl is Marcel's secret weapon? I mean there are some powerful witches, but how can that girl be the key to this entire town being afraid of Marcel?
I feel Rebekah's eyes turn towards me, and I look back at her confused. "What?"
"The girl, she was strong...like you." Rebekah says worriedly, and I tilt my head at her. I get there's a possibility of her being powerful, but like me? That's impossible.
"Now you're exaggerating, sister." Nik cuts in. "There is no way she is as strong as Kalle. She's just another witch."
"She's not. She's nothing I've ever seen before, something powerful, much more powerful than she should be. And now because of you, she has Elijah." Rebekah exclaims to Nik, and I still stand silent.
I can sense Nik's glare from the corner of my eye, before a question is asked of me. "Kalle, tell our paranoid sister you can handle this...girl." He tells me, but I say nothing.
When I was trying to look for Elijah, there was a block on the spell. Usually, if I really need to find something, I will break the block. It takes a lot of energy some of the time, but it works 99% of the time. I told Rebekah I stopped trying after the block...but I lied. I figured I was just drained. After everything going on for the past few days, I figured it to be that much, but it's not.
This girl somehow has the power so that not even I can find a way around this magical block. That should not be possible.
"Where is she?" I ignore Nik's question, looking at Rebekah. Because it doesn't matter if she managed to keep me from finding Elijah. Marcel showed Rebekah where his weakness is, and whether or not this witch got the upper hand of my sister, she won't get the upper hand of me.
Rebekah opens her mouth to answer, but then quickly closes it. I look at her confused, and see Nik looking at her in the same way. She looks down to think, before answering. "That clever bitch...I don't know."
I look back at Niklaus with a worried face, and he still looks at Rebekah confused. "What's wrong?"
"She wiped my memory of her location." Rebekah states, and my eyes widen.
"No." I finally state, "No that cannot be possible because you're an original, there is no possible way she could have done that."
"Kalle. I don't remember." Rebekah states worriedly, and I start to breathe a little heavily. Rebekah diverts her attention away from me, and I turn towards the same direction with anger.
"This is your fault." I state in anger, and I finally see worry on Nik's face. I should not be feeling sorry for myself, this is one person's doing. "Marcel has a weapon so powerful that it can wipe the memory of an original and you gave our brother to him!!" I yell in anger and Rebekah pitches in.
"How many times does Elijah need to forgive you? How many times until his hope for your redemption finally dies!" Rebekah screams.
"I did what I had to do!" Nik screams back at both of us. "Marcel took out home!"
"OUR HOME MEANS NOTHING!" I scream loudly, startling them both. "Without family, when will you get that?"
I look at Niklaus with disbelief on my face, and he seems a little distressed. I look at him for a few more seconds, before taking a deep breath. Nik would never have given Elijah a dagger if it meant risking his life. No matter how stupid it was to dagger him in the first place.
"We are going to do whatever it takes to get Elijah back." I state confidently, seeing Rebekah nodding in agreement. "Whatever it takes."
We both look at Niklaus. I watch as his face shifts from worry to confidence. "Are you going to help us?"
He looks down at the both of us with a serious look. "Whatever it takes."
I spent the next few hours trying to figure out any spell that could possibly jog Rebekah's memory back. I even started looking through some spell books, ones that I haven't seen in centuries and some that I haven't seen at all.
It's been such a long journey since I woke up from that box, I sometimes forget I was asleep for a hundred years. Which means missing a whole lot of spells.
"Have you found anything yet?" Rebekah asked me.
"Yes, I did and have just been spending these last couple of hours reading for my pure amusement." I state, not looking away from my book but I hear Niklaus laughing. Then, I feel a pillow hit the back of my head. "Ow."
"No need for the attitude." Rebekah states irritatedly, and I assume she threw the pillow.
"Relax Rebekah, she is doing her best." I hear a long pause, before Nik continues. "Though, it would be great if our witch sister, who is supposedly the strongest witch in the world, read a little faster."
I close my book very loudly, and get up from the couch, turning to see Rebekah standing there with her arms crossed, while Niklaus is leaning in his office chair.
"Listen, I am trying to find a loophole behind a spell, one I did not even know was possible against an original, and you two berating me like I'm your little servant will not get us anywhere. So, how about the two of you shut the hell up, or I will burn this town myself, to find Elijah."
"I actually like that plan." Rebekah states happily.
"No one is burning anything." Niklaus says irritated, as he positions himself into an upright sitting position. "Fine, we will be quiet."
I take a deep breath. "Thank you." I walk back over to the couch, and sit down on it.
"So, did you find Elijah yet?" Hayley comes in and I get up angrily, placing my book on the table.
"You know what, I'm going for a walk." I state, frustrated, walking towards the door.
"Do you want com-" Nik starts, but I cut him off.
"NO!" I make my way past Hayley, out of the room. I then head straight towards the front door, and slam it angrily.
I cannot work like this. Knowing that Elijah is not safe is stressful enough, but having the non-stop questioning about whether I found Elijah is making me go insane.
As I walk, I try to calm myself down. This will not get me anywhere. There is obviously no spell that can help me figure this out, at least not a conventional one I will find in a book. I need to find some real answers.
If this girl is as powerful as me, and that's a really big if...I need to have my mind straight. I cannot let it throw me off, and even though it is weird that a sixteen-year-old girl could be carrying the power of a thousand-year-old witch, I have seen weirder things. Like my mother coming back to life and somehow turning a history teacher stronger than an original vampire.
Regardless, if I want to find out where Elijah is and figure out who this girl is, I need the witch who started all of this.
Or at least her sister.
"Sophie!" I say excitedly, as I walk into the cemetery. She turns around to see me and looks a little frightened. "Jeez, what's got you up tight?"
She relaxes a little bit, and sighs at me. "First your sister, and now you're back as well. Your family just keeps on coming."
She cross her arms at me, standing near one of the tombstones. I look at her curiously, before taking a step forward.
"I'm assuming you know about Elijah, if my sister came to see you." I ask and she nods her head. "Well, then I am the last Mikealson coming to town, since the rest of my family is dead...but my family has a representation of coming back to life as well so maybe don't take my word on that."
"What do you want? If you want me to locate Elijah, I told your sister already-"
"Yeah, yeah. You can't locate him because Marcel will know you used magic. Besides, I already tried but Marcel's secret weapon made it impossible for me to." I explain and Sophie widens her eyes at me.
"You used magic?" Sophie asks confused and I nod steadily. "And Marcel didn't come after you?"
I look at her confused, before I start laughing. "Please, Marcel couldn't get me even if he tried."
"Then why don't you use your magic to take down Marcel?" Sophie asks, and I sigh to her oblivion.
"What about he has Elijah do you not get?" I sarcastically state, walking a little past her.
"You're afraid of him hurting Elijah?" Sophie asks and I stop walking.
"Not him. His secret weapon, a witch." I say, with my back faced towards her. "Davina, I believe her name was."
"Davina?" She asks in a surprised tone. I turn around to face her again, to see the shock on her face. "Marcel has Davina?"
"Yes...he does. Who is this girl and why was she able to wipe my sister's bloody mind?" I cross my arms, waiting for an answer. Sophie shakes her head at me, seemingly not knowing an answer. "Fine, don't talk. But the next time one of your witches die, remember the reason they were killed was because of one of your own."
"Marcel must have did something to her. She's not a killer." Sophie says in a protective tone. I analyze her face, which seems worrisome. Whoever this Davina girl is, she someone important to her.
"Listen, you seem to care about Davina, and I care about my brother." I state, taking a step forward which inclines her to take a step back.
"You want something."
"Of course I want something, I wouldn't be here if I didn't."
Sophie takes a deep breath. "What is it?"
"There was this witch, Katie I believe? She told on Hayley and three vampires almost killed her. Nik tells me that this Katie girl...she's Marcel's right hand man's girlfriend. I need you to convince her to do a spell."
"What? Absolutely not." Sophie declines, as she walks away but I grab her arm.
"I was not asking. I would use you as the bait but if this goes wrong and you die, Hayley dies as well defeating this whole purpo-"
"You're not using Katie either!" Sophie screams, making me let go of her. "You know, I would understand one of your siblings sacrifice another girl, but you? I thought you were the witch with humanity still left inside of her. She still one of us."
"Look, let me make this crystal clear." I state, stepping forward to her, and she steps back again. "I am not one of you, and I have not been for a very long time. You all disowned me because of my siblings you hate so much."
Sophie backs herself into one of the tombstombs, now being forced to look me in the eye. I am glaring at her with anger, as I cannot stand witches who believe that we are all the same because we are not. Far from it actually.
"So, what? You're willing to let her die?" Sophie asks. I glare at her for a few more seconds, before calming down.
"No." I state, stepping back a little and Sophie relaxes herself. "Okay, listen. Katie just needs to distract Marcel long enough for me to do the spell."
"And how will you keep Marcel from killing her?"
"We'll link our magic together. That way, she will be ten times stronger and last long enough." I explain and she looks at me questioning.
"And what do we want Katie to do exactly? She's not going to just storm in the quarter."
"Don't worry. Niklaus can get Marcel to doubt Thierry. All we need is for you to get the idea into Katie's head." I explain, with a small smile. "So are you in?"
Sophie eyes shift between looking at me, and at the empty space next to me. But I do happen to be a very convincing person, which is why I was pleased, but not that surprised, as I watched her nod her head yes.
Later that day, I told Niklaus about my plan and he actually liked it. He told me he never liked Thierry in the first place and this gave him the opportunity to get rid of him once and for all. Now, all we have to do is deal with Marcel and keep him distracted enough, that he won't know what is going on.
Guess we should be lucky that he is interested in this bartender.
"She works here?" I ask Rebekah, as we enter the bar.
"That's what Nik said." She explains, looking behind the bar counter and I do the same. Rebekah then looks at one girl, and I tilt my head curiously. "That's her."
"Wait, I recognize her." I state, walking up to the bar, feeling Rebekah follow behind me. She looks towards me and my sister, and is surprised to see me as well.
"Won't you look at that, I bumped into you outside of another bar and now you're here getting a drink from this one. Don't tell me you're an alcoholic." She jokes, and I shake my head no with a laugh.
"No, no. Just stopping by. I am actually looking for a girl, Cami was it?" I ask Rebekah and she nods her head with a smile.
"What another coincidence." She states surprised, showing her name tag, which says 'Camille'. "Go by Cami, though."
"Isn't this perfect, what are the chances the girl we are inviting to the party is the girl you bumped into on the street?" Rebekah asks and I shrug my shoulders.
"Small town I guess." I add in, feeling Cami looking at us.
"Wait." Cami states, and I turn to face her confused face. "What party?"
"Our friend, Marcel, he's throwing a little charity party and we heard the two of you were dating." I explain, and Cami shakes her head no with a smile.
"Dating, no." She says, as she puts away some wine bottles. "More like he's trying to woo me and I keep going along with it."
"I get it. I have had my fair share of on again and off again relationships." Rebekah says, leaning on the table.
"Mostly off again." I remark, and then feel her kick my leg. I wince in pain, as Cami turns back to face us a little confused.
"Anyways...it would be fun if I had someone else to keep me company, even if you don't want to go with Marcel." Rebekah states, and Cami looks between the both of us.
"What about you?" Cami asks me and I shake my head no.
"Marcel's parties are not really my thing, and he told me I didn't have to come if I could convince a very special blonde lady to attend." I say with a nice smile, and can see Cami blushing a little.
"So, any interest?" Rebekah says with a smile as well, and we see the look on Cami's face turn very interested.
