* This takes place four months during Jacen Skywalker's coma. *
On Yavin IV, in the old Rebel Base, just a few days after the Invasion of Mustafar, Jacen falls into a coma following an explosion that hit him. Poe Dameron has been kidnapped. In the medical chamber, Jacen is now in a bacta suit, the same one Finn wore following the battle on Starkiller Base with Kylo Ren.
Jack looks at his comatose friend before speaking to him. "I know it's complicated, but. We'll see you when you wake up, pal!" He steps out of the room before turning to his left to see Finn walking by.
"Lucky for him, he would wake when the time comes." Said the former stormtrooper. "So, you've said that you sensed a Force in me?"
Jack nodded about it. "I was wondering I could train you to become a Jedi." He commented. "Back on Ossus, Master Luke taught me the ways of the Force between Light or Dark."
"Just like what happened back in the old wars." Finn was awestruck about it. "When I was trained in the riot squad for baton practice, I've been able to keep the crowd under control for some reason."
"Just like we fought Phasma on the Snoke's Star Destroyer. But her staff was made out of beskar, the Mandalorian steel." Jack revealed about the staff.
Finn became awestruck about the mysterious material. "I can't believe her staff was made from Mandalore, where the Mandalorians reside."
Jack nods before getting Finn ready for training. "Okay, let's get to Jedi training, shall we?"
They head to a large chamber with many crates where the two could do some Force training.
"Now let's put our training to the test!" Jack said while Finn nods nervously. "What's the hold-up there, man?"
"It's just that I'm reminiscing my training with a baton with my fellow stormtroopers back on Starkiller Base." He spoke about his time with the First Order. "But this time, I'm never returning to them ever again."
"Well, I've heard that their previous Supreme Leader Snoke is dead. Somehow he never figured out that you're Force-sensitive." Jack reminded him.
Finn brightens up. "Yeah! Good to letting me know! Thanks, Jack!"
"Shall we begin?" Jack questioned.
"Definitely!" Finn answered.
As the two just start sitting in a meditative position before Jack tells Finn about the using the Force.
"Now, close your eyes and reach out with your hand!" He did after Jack told him. "Then lift the crate!"
The former stormtrooper now uses the Force to telekinetically lift the crate and concentrates even more.
"Very good, Finn! Very good!" Jack said with anticipation. "Feel the flow of the Force surrounding you!"
As Finn continues to concentrate, more crates from Finn's Force energy suddenly lift off from the ground. Momentarily, Jack hears someone coming in. The person coming in turns out to be Rose, checking in to witness the crates in the air.
"Whoa! I don't believe it!" She said in awe. "Finn is lifting the crates in the air!"
"Sure is, Rose!" Jack noted her. "It's just like I sensed a Force in him back on Cantonica and on Snoke's Star Destroyer while back."
Moments later, Finn opens his eyes before realizing what he is doing.
"I don't believe it!" He smiled before gently putting down the crates. And turns around to see Rose in the room.
"Finn, I didn't know you would become a Jedi!" She cheered about it.
Finn walks up to her and Jack. "Thanks, Rose!" He hugs her before turning to Jack. "Good thing that Rey and Jacen forgot to find out I was Force-sensitive."
"Shall begin our lightsaber training?" He asked before Finn nods with agreement.
They begin the next part of training, where the Finn wore a training helmet to cover his eyes before getting into sparring position.
"I can't even see in this thing." He complained about the helmet. "How am I supposed to fight with this on?"
"Hear the sound of my voice!" He said before his wood saber taps onto Finn's left shoulder.
However, instead of lightsabers, they use bokken sabers to feel the sound of the wood touching each other. As Finn nearly misses, Jack whistles out to him to as the former stormtrooper uses his wood saber hitting Luke Skywalker's old student's a few times before the latter gains the upper hand.
"Good job!" He congratulated.
Finn took off his helmet before speaking, "Okay, that was weird! What's next?"
Jack takes out a training remote. "How about we deflect blasts from the remote by using the Force?!"
"I think this is going to be a tough challenge for me to handle." Finn said about his ongoing training before putting his helmet back on.
"Well, here goes nothing!" the former First Order stormtrooper goes into position.
However, Jack gives him Jacen's lightsaber in order to train.
"It's probably Jacen's! You'll get used to it!" he reminded.
Finn nods before the remote starts shooting its laser blasts at him, who deflected it with the lightsaber a few times. And Jack does the same thing, similar to what he did at Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy back on Ossus before Ben turned to the dark side of the Force and destroyed it.
Seconds later, they spar without looking at each other before taking off their helmets and spar with different set of stances.
"Show me what you got, Finn?" Asked Jack.
"I'm just getting started, Jack!" Finn responded before going back to sparring.
Just at the entrance of the chamber, Kaydel Ko Connix looks at the two Jedi in awestruck since the Battle of Crait two weeks ago. However, Rose was the first to arrive at the moment.
"I don't believe it!" the commander was in awestruck. "Finn is a Jedi! But Jack is training him to become one."
"It's like when he and Rey lifted the rocks that were blocking the back entrance of the old Rebel base when the crystal critters came out." Rose figured out while she was knocked out after escaping from Crait.
Five seconds later, the two Jedi conclude their training before turning to Rose and Poe.
"What's up, Konnix? How's it going?" Jack greeted before high fiving the lieutenant.
Kaydel started saying, "Everything went well! But Jacen is still in a coma! But Poe Dameron is still missing." he turns to Finn. "I see that you are training to become a Jedi!"
"Thanks, Kaydel! I appreciate it!" Finn replied. "I'm just using his lightsaber to start my training to be a Jedi just like Rey."
"Just like back when I was on a mission to Coruscant along with Ben, Kara, and the students of the academy by going through the old Jedi Temple when the emperor took control after the conclusion of the Clone Wars and the formation of the Empire." Jack explained his story to them.
The three Resistance members were in awe about this. In the meantime, Leia comes in and tells the four about her son's fall to the dark side.
"Well Luke told me all about it. Even though Ben fell to the dark side, Han and I were struggling to bring him home." she reminded them the moment before Han died.
Jack remembered when he was with Kara at the time of the destruction before Luke left with R2-D2 until they left the burning temple before the Knights of Ren arrived.
"There must be another way to save him just like Luke did Anakin a long time ago." Finn suggested.
"And Jacen sensed it from afar while on Jakku." Kaydel mentioned.
* 15 Minutes Later *
After discussing past events from the previous wars, including Jack telling them about his grandfather, Kelleran Beq, who rescued Grogu from escaping Order 66. The five left the chamber before going to their quarters to get some sleep.
They said good night to each other. Jack goes to the bathroom to relief himself. A few minutes later, he heads to his quarters to rest after training Finn.
An hour later, Jack woke up from remembering his mission back on Coruscant a few years ago. He gets out of bed, then a few seconds later, he got dressed in a hybrid of Jedi robes and Resistance outfit, which resembles the one his grandfather wore along with his blue pants featuring a utility belt along with his lightsaber. He steps out of his quarters to make sure everyone is asleep. Jack tiptoes quietly to the hangar in the dark corridors and gets in the elevator. Seconds later, he made it right before the door opens quietly.
He sees ships like X-Wings, A-Wings, Y-Wings, and other ships in awe. "Wow! That's a lot of ships!"
Moments later, he boards a blue and black X-Wing, which is at the front of the entrance of the hangar and quietly activates the engine before taking off for his mission, which he planned to finish right where he left off.
Here's right where the 4-month period begins when Jacen Skywalker fell into a coma after the mission on Mustafar. On the first month of Jacen's coma, Jack is planning to train Finn to become a Jedi just like he mentioned that it awakened in him back on Jakku. Most importantly, Poe Dameron has been kidnapped by the First Order.
