"You're mine till the day you die."
She gulped
"Then I guess I should get a rope soon."
That was the last thing Lucy could mutter before a forceful hand flew across her face. She held her stinging cheek in silence, after all this was nothing new for her.
"I give you an inch and you take a mile," Natsu spoke scarily calmly. "You think you can escape me by dying...I'll kill you with my own hands bitch" He said in a dark tone
Lucy was beyond fed up, there was no winning with him all she felt was defeat but she still had a small bit of courage left in her.
"Well, then why don't you do it? Just kill me then."
His gaze darkened on her tiny form. Lucy was scared but it was too late for her to chicken out, all she could do was run wherever he legs took her, so she ran. She ran and locked herself in her small storage room. Anything was better than being near Natsu at that moment.
"Lucy." She could hear his loud slow footsteps. He sounded calm but she knew he was upset.
"I-I'm so sorry! Just please go home!" She sobbed out from the other side of the closet. She watched in horror as he effortlessly twisted off her locked doorknob. He kicked the door in and she let out a high-pitched screech. 'Why do I always make dumb decisions?'
"Lucy." He said again, his voice was husky as he practically growled her name. He stared down at her cowering form hugging her legs in the tiny dark closet.
She pissed him off but deep down he knew Lucy was right. He was embarrassingly obsessed with her. Every thought on his mind had become Lucy and spending time with her, fucking her, buying her stuff. He couldn't even enjoy normal activities without his Lucy around. But in this moment none of that mattered, Lucy disrespected him and now she would be taught a lesson.
"No no no" Lucy chanted as she felt her entire body being lifted off the ground. She gasped as he slammed her into a wall and roughly pressed his lips against hers.
"So you wanna die?" His breathing was ragged against her mouth. He gripped the back of her hair to push her further into his face, and fully took over her mouth with his tongue. Her tiny moans while she cried only added fuel to the fire in him. Having her like this in his arms always made him like this in some sick twisted way. He'd never been this passionate with anyone but Lucy, and he knew he'd never feel this way with anyone else.
Lucy was the one to end the kiss running out of breath, she softly laid her head on his chest to signify that she couldn't take anymore. Natsu thankfully took the hint and put her down. Lucy stared at her toes waiting for him to speak.
"I'm sorry."
She looked up in shock her mouth agape. 'Did Natsu Dragneel just apologize or is this another one of his cruel jokes?'
He quickly changed topics "Listen I gotta go... just don't do anything dumb I have plans for us next weekend."
She nodded, "plans?"
"Yep, a big banquet at my family's house. I'll pick you up for dress shopping tomorrow." He rushed out his words.
'Was he flustered right now?'
"O-ok" she nodded again not having much to say.
And with that, Natsu left her alone again, with nothing but bruises, swollen lips, and much confusion.
Natsu drove home in silence allowing himself to self-reflect. No. He couldn't say he loved Lucy that would be a lie, there's no one in this world he could say he loves, however, she is the most genuine person in his life. He didn't want to lose that, he didn't want to lose the only person who didn't look at him like a money sign. Ironic coming from Natsu, after all he did to Lucy. He knows she doesn't deserve it, but violence is the only way he's been able to articulate his feelings. Talking is for the weak and Dragneels were nothing of the sort, his father ingrained that in him since he was small.
Lucy continued plaguing his mind as he drove into the parking garage of his penthouse. 'Why is the thought of losing this dumb girl tormenting me like this?' It hadn't been that long since he met her and made her his, but he felt a weird sense of fear at the thought of not being able to see her again. He was sure he'd get over it though, Dragneels are not tender-hearted and in his eyes, Lucy was nothing more than a piece of cake. He would savor every bite of the girl until there was nothing left of her.
With a new sense of reassurance, he strolled out of his Rolls Royce and made his way to the elevator. That was until a little blue ball of fluff caught his eye hiding in a corner of the garage. 'What is that a scarf?' As he got closer to the little blue thing he realized it was alive and breathing. Barely that is.
It was a cat, a very sickly and malnourished cat. Normally he would ignore something so insignificant but that thought of his Lucy popped up in his head. She was an animal lover and this little weird-colored cat looked exactly like one of those little Pokémon she liked so much.
That next morning Lucy awoke feeling conflicted. Her baseless threat yesterday set Natsu off, but she knew and he knew it wasn't that baseless, maybe that's why he ultimately apologized. It didn't matter though, her treatment would never change.
She quickly showered and got ready for the day. Natsu would be picking her up today to go dress shopping, she couldn't even imagine spending the evening around a bunch of Dragneels. She didn't have much of a choice of course.
Lucy checked out herself in the mirror, she wore nothing special just a cute t-shirt saying 'I love cats' in bold letters along with some simple jeans. Natsu never complained about her silly outfits, it might've been the only thing in her life he allowed her to control.
As on queue, she heard a knock on the door. Natsu was outside and he held a tiny blue kitten in his arms.
"N-Natsu" she said his name only staring at the cute little kitty.
"He's for you." He said sticking out his arms for her to hold the cat. She hesitantly held the tiny thing. He was terribly thin but he seemed happy still. The little cat pawed at her large breast and Lucy could only giggle at the adorable thing in response.
Natsu's only way to describe the interaction was 'cute' of course he would never admit that. Ultimately he felt he made the right decision to gift Lucy the blue fluffball because now she was happily grinning while cuddling the slightly perverted kitten.
"Thank you." She said looking up at Natsu with those pretty eyes of hers. He said nothing in return. "Where did you get him? might I ask. He's very skinny"
"I found him last night and took him to the vet. Seems like his previous owner abandoned him." He explained while handing her a bag full of cat food. "That should help him put on some pounds"
She gently placed the cat as well as the bag of food on the ground and leaped into Natsu's arms. "I'm gonna take good care of him I promise" he clutched her tiny waist in response. "What's his name?"
"Happy."
"Did you name him that?" She questioned
"Uh no. That was his original name." He lied. She didn't need to know he chose that name solely because he knew for a fact the cat would make her happy, that'd be too sappy. She was satisfied with his answer anyway.
"Happy" she hummed "How cute. Also, why is he blue?"
"That I can't answer." Natsu smiled in silence as he held her. If his former self had seen him like this he'd probably laugh and then spit on himself. However, right now he chose to enjoy the presence of Lucy and not bother to think too much about how she's changing him.
