Here is the next chapter. Please read and review thank you love Hermione xxx
"You should really think about who you're threatening when you do it Mr Malfoy. Here take this parchment. I have written my full name on it. When you rearrange the letters you may get a surprise!" he said still chuckling as he handed an irate Lucius Malfoy the parchment who seemed highly confused now instead of angry.
"I swear to god if Draco was messing with me he'll get in the neck. I thought one hundred house points wee taken from him!" he grumbled as Marvolo giggled.
"They were taken from him he wasn't lying to you. Just read the parchment please. If you had spent less time doing your marvellous hair and more time raising your son well he might be an ok student. I have no idea why he's even in Slytherin because he's as cunning as a Cereberus trying to be quiet in a small place!" he said seriously as Lucius concentrated. It took him a few minutes and he still didn't get it so Marvolo snatched it back from him.
"You insolent fool! If you rearrange the letters it says I am Lord Voldemort! Yes it really is me. Suffice it to say I have gained a new and permanent body. I am not as I once was. I no longer operate under the scheme of being in control with people no longer allowed to ask me questions because that's not good. Did you know Lucius that your son thought for some bizarre reason because of who he was alone that I or anyone else would be mildly threatened by him or give him whatever he wanted? My question is where he did get these ideas from? Was it your wife?" he asked silkily as Lucius fell to his knees in sheer terror shaking.
"My…my Lord I am so sorry you never looked like this before though. I didn't know it was you I swear it on my life and magic. What do you need to me to do?" he asked and then winced expecting a curse which never came.
"This is the problem with arrogant pillocks like you. You never listen to me at all do you? I said earlier did I not that from now on asking me questions whenever you like is no longer a cursable offence. I meant what I said. For now I expect an answer to my question. Why was Draconis harbouring under the notion that because he was a Malfoy everyone would respect him and give him everything he wants for that reason alone? He is not me Lucius and you would do well to remind him of that fact!" he snapped as Lucius jumped.
"Yes well the Malfoy family is important none the less and I did tell him that repeatedly. I couldn't have him embarrassing me by going off and befriending all these mudbloods could I?" he snapped back feeling irritated that his parenting skills were being questioned. It was hard to forget this was Lord Voldemort as he looked so normal now. It was only as he thought of this that he even remembered who he'd been talking to and indeed snapped at.
He was shocked Marvolo raised his wand high in the air and was further shocked when the curse didn't come. Instead a sheet of parchment shot out of one of the drawers on his desk and into his arms. He began writing in it and smiled once he was done.
"This is contract Lucius. It says you will give me one quarter of all of your wealth later in the week. It also contains a magically binding agreement that you will tell no one who I used to be and that you will follow every order I give you to the best of your ability. If I ask you to do something and you are unable to do it a compromise will be reached. I am no longer evil!" he said seriously producing a blood quill and Lucius looked very apprehensive.
"If you do not sign this Lucius I will have to resort to serious violence and I don't want to do that. Just sign this thing or I will crucio you to death!" he snapped in ire as a trembling Lucius took up the blood quill and hesitated before signing it.
"Ugh I have signed it my Lord what task do you have for me?" he asked resenting having had no choice but to sign it in the first place.
"First of all you are to call me Marvolo always or Lord Riddle outside in public. As far as you are concerned unless I ever decide to tell you otherwise we are equals. You will take parenting lessons from me. I had a crap childhood and let's just say I know what not to do. Filling that idiot son of yours head with dreams and foolishness is one of them. I mean seriously? GET FUCKING REAL!? He swans around here like a peacock thinking he's better then everyone else and he is not. Not by a long shot. Those mudbloods you mentioned are related to your squibs so think about that and the fuck out of my office. I will owl or floo you should I need to. You will reprimand your son in a way which doesn't use the damn dark arts either. I will not have him traumatised!" he snapped waving his wand as the door opened and Lucius was magically thrown from the room while it slammed in his face.
The audacity of that man. He would not forget who he was speaking to again. Just because he did not jump to the unforgiveables every five minutes like a fool as he used to did not mean his so called death eaters were not above a hiding. He hadn't explained that whole contract anyway and was now grinning like a loon. You see Lucius had signed the contract to state he would no longer badmouth muggleborn students and if he tried to do so he would experience any kind of light charm out there possible and would essentially look like a fool in public which was his aim. Also he would stop acting so pretentiously. He would need to loose the cane and ridiculousness soon if he hoped to survive in the new magical political system Marvolo was interested in creating.
The files he had ordered had arrived at his desk just then via goblin messenger and he was delighted. He read the note on top which stated that these were all the laws past since his demise and who had been the ones to suggest them in the first place. Interestingly enough Dumbledore had been behind a fair few of the darker ones himself. This was a development and a half. Who in the blazes was this Dolores Umbridge lady? Either she was a fool or a muggleborn idiot! No wait she couldn't be a muggleborn since all of her laws targeted them and indeed animals of all kinds. This simply wouldn't do. He sent off a note asking to meet her at Diagon Alley in one hour for lunch. He needed to see her to asses the situation. He would have his last class now and then floo to Diagon Alley. He was seriously interested in meeting her and sussing her out. After his last successful lesson of the day ended with Slytherin down another fifty points.
He aparated to the café he'd mentioned and walked inside. "Hello I am looking for Dolores Umbridge?" he asked the hostess.
"Yes she's over there at the table in the far corner" she said leading him in the direction of a pink tragic explosion. In his hey day he'd created rune stickers something he'd renowned for in school. He used one now without being seen and stuck it to her hand as he took in his and kissed the top of it. The stickers were invisible once applied. He'd given her one that would enable her to tell the truth no matter how she tried to hide it. It would wear off after one day. Besides which her being honest for a day might be interesting.
"Good afternoon Miss Umbridge. I am Lord Riddle, Gaunt, and LeFay and for reasons I cannot get into right now my entry into the Wizengamot has been delayed. In light of this I asked I asked for a list of all the laws and things past in the last twelve or so years so I be caught up and all that. Well I got this list and your name pops up quite a fair bit. Why are you so against Veela and werewolves?" he asked as she looked furious.
"I hate those vile cretins because they are dangerous and or smart. Some of them are actually amazingly smart but if we allow them to continue one of those vile beasts could even possibly become the Minister of Magic himself. I will not stand for it. Over my dead body will these…these things ever have rights!" she snapped as he looked at her in awe.
"Ok and muggleborn people are not animals so what is your deal with them?" he asked casually loving how irate the truth was making her. He looked calmer then ever and she was garnering herself attention by freaking out which he liked. A subtle wave of his wand changed his appearance to that of Lucius Malfoy.
"Those mudbloods are animals in their own right. I would have worked for Voldemort and killed them all accept he wouldn't have taken me for being young. His death was the most tragic one I've ever experienced. I was so sad he had to die before exterminating them all!" she snapped practically foaming at the mouth with rage as he kept his cool exterior appearances. She did look ridiculous now and he was loving it. This was the best entertainment he'd ever had.
"How do you know what he wanted? What blood status are you?" he asked as she fumed further.
"I am a halfblood not that it's anyone's business but my own. My only regret was not being born a pureblood. My mother was a mudblood and I had to kill her. My father was a pureblood but he was an embarrassment for choosing a mudblood in the first place so I had no choice but to have him fired. I will not have my reputation ruined by that fool!" she ranted as the people nearest them gasped in horror and left pretty quickly.
"How did you kill your mother?" he asked curiously. She sounded dangerous and unhinged definitely someone he couldn't work with in the future.
"Well I didn't actually kill her. I mean I do say that because I wish it was true but it isn't. I didn't kill her but I did watch her die because of anaphylaxis or an extreme allergic reaction to something she'd eaten and not known she was allergic to. It was fun to see the light leave her eyes. I even took the mudbloods wand from her so she couldn't aid herself. It was so much fun. I love power Lord Riddle etc and would easily have been the wife of Voldemort if he wasn't so stuck up to have none. Would you ever have a wife or do you have a wife?" she asked him throwing him completely.
He'd not been prepared for that question. He had to think about that answer. Was he ready for a wife? He'd never had one before now but did that mean he didn't want one? Was he ready for that? Could he be open to love? He'd never experienced that in his youth which had made him bitter something Dumbledore had capitalised on making him into the vile and unreasonable Lord Voldemort he had become. He didn't want that he decided. That way he'd be letting Albus Dumbledore of all people win and he wasn't about to let that happen any time soon.
"Yes I am currently looking for a wife. It is not my desire to have children but if it does happen I will not be sad either. If I were to have children I would wish to be a good influence on them. Growing up I did not experience much love and it could have made me bitter except I refuse to let it do that. People like Albus Dumbledore like to take advantage of bitter people so I've noticed. I mean Voldemort and Grindelwald were both exceptionally bitter people and he took full advantage of them. I heard Voldemort was brought up in a loveless orphanage where he was beaten and shown not one modicum of love his whole life. If my life had been that bad I might have been very bitter myself!" he said as she smiled a smile he didn't like.
"Yes you are of course right. Albus Dumbledore is always monopolising the time of the Minister of Magic whenever he's there as is Lucius Malfoy but at least Lucius Malfoy is hot. You can at least look at something tasty there. As for Voldemort of course he didn't have a good life. I mean that does sound awful. I am still saddened that he was not successful in killing our mudbloods!" she snapped as he snapped back irritated by the pink.
"I swear to god if anyone in our world researched anything at all they would know that muggleborn people come from the squibs which purebloods throw out of their families. Didn't know that did you? Yes I can see our political world is in safe hands indeed you fool. You do realise don't you that the gaudy pink isn't fooling anyone!" he half asked half demanded as she jumped a bit at his tone.
"I'll have you know I didn't know that about mudbloods and as for the pink it's my absolute favourite colour in the whole wide world ever. I'm not attempting to fool anyone! As for you looking for a wife you really don't need to look any further then me! I realise it's very forward of me but we do share the same passions" she snapped back. He reeled in shock at her statement. She couldn't have thought he wanted her as his wife surely? He'd sooner die then marry this pink…toad atrocity!
"I will have you know I am looking for a bride not a toad. If that ever changes I'll let you know. We share no interests Miss Umbridge. You're not even a pureblood and of such little influence it truly does make me laugh!" he sneered. Her whole face went red and signs of danger flashed across it as he studied her. She looked very like she wanted to use an unforgivable right now but couldn't because of their location. He wouldn't have let her anyway. He'd have taken her out so quickly she'd never have seen it coming had she tried to curse him.
"I'll have you know I control the Minister. He does everything I say because he knows I am trustworthy and right. I got my position on my skill alone!" she said pompously as he laughed casting a spell she didn't see as the number seventy five floated there above her head. He cast the spell on himself too as she looked stunned.
"Ninety eight huh? What's with the number floating above your head?" she asked as he smirked. So that was the size of his core then. He knew she'd repeat what she'd seen there so didn't need to conjure a mirror to see it for himself.
"Yes and I am sure you in no way influence him or his decisions magically or financially. I know all about those bribes he takes from Lucius Malfoy. Lucius thinks he could hide it from me but he wasn't able to. I swear when I am done with the Wizengamot it will be a legitimately straight and honest organisation. If people don't like or want that to happen I would suggest they hop into the veil and out of the way of justice. As for your hatred of all kinds of animals it cannot be allowed to fester and become dangerous. Obliviate!" he cast removing all her memories of ever hating animals of any kinds. Now at least she could focus her mind on other things. She looked dazed for a while as she came to smiling.
"So Lord Riddle would you like to go on a date? I do adore powerful men!" she said sweetly her voice laced with hidden agendas and threats.
"No thank you but if you do find a suitable woman in your workplace have her write to me at Hogwarts where I teach. This has been an enlightening visit so to speak. I must return to work now as should you. Goodbye Miss Umbridge he sneered as she left! He summoned some vials and placed her removed memories into them and headed back to school. It had been an interesting meeting to say the least.
