Chapter Thirteen...

The Midnight Duel

Harry had never believed he would meet a boy he hated more than Dudley, but that was before he met Draco Malfoy. Still, first year Gryffindors only had potions with the Slytherins, so they didn't have to put up with Malfoy much. or at least, they didn't until they spotted a notice in the Hufflepuff common room that made them all groan. Flying lessons would be starting on Thursday, Gryffindor and Slytherin would be learning together.

"Typical." said Harry darkly. "Well, i'm glad that i don't have to show off and make a fool of myself in front of Malfoy."

He had been looking forward to learning to fly more than anything else.

"You don't know that you'll make a fool of yourself." said Ron reasonably. "Anyway, I know Malfoy's always going on about how good he is at Quidditch, but I bet that's all talk."

The fact that Neville was in Gryffindor really worried Harry, Because he'd had a conversation with the boy earlier about how his uncle had dropped him off the roof of Longbottom Hall at the age of three. As they reached the great hall, Harry and Susan sat next to each other. They looked over at Neville, they can see that he's worried.

They heard that Malfoy certainly did talk about flying a lot. He complained loudly about first years never getting on the House Quidditch teams and told long, boastful stories that always seemed to end with him narrowly escaping muggles in helicopters. He wasn't the only one, though: the way Seamus Finnigan told it, he'd spent most of his childhood zooming around the countryside on his broomstick.

Thankfully for Harry though, He and Susan were flying over the summer. So they're very good flyers. As they were eating, the owl posts started to come through. the owl flying passed Harry dropped the news paper, while Hedwig dropped a rolled up piece of parchment for Susan with a letter to Harry.

"What's that letter for?" asked Hannah.

"Probably from Mooney." said Susan.

Harry looked at the letter that said Prongslet on it before opening it to read.

Dear Harry,

I know about Amelia taking you away from Petunia, in my opinion, it should've happened years ago, Mooney told me about the Blood protection charm that Lily placed on you, so i'll tell you this, The Blood Protection Charm is based on love. The fact that Lily loved Petunia is still a mystery to me.

But what i can tell you is that Petunia did love your mother in her own special way, she just never showed it. As for her whale of a husband, He's not used to Magic or anyone associated with it. I believe it was the reason James didn't want you and Emmy living with Petunia, i'm just glad that David Granger was able to take her that night. Now as for Neville, he knows alot about the wizarding world, so he can help you.

If you need advice, go to Mooney or Amelia.

With love,

Padfoot.

P.s.

Ask a certain Redhead to marry you one day.

As he finished the letter, he looked over at Susan, leaned into her ear and jokingly whispered, "You wanna get it on later?" To say Susan was shocked was an understatement, she practically laughed. Hannah looked at Susan's red face and heard her say, "only if you shag me, baby." Her mouth dropped open at the statement, but then got back to eating. until a certain blonde walked over to the table.

Daphne leaned next to Harry and said, "Hey Harry, meet me near the broom closet later tonight." Harry looked at her. "Oh bring Susan as well, official House business tonight." She dropped a note in front of him and left. the note in question said.

Prongs,

D.M. wants you to duel him for honor.
