The Sorcerer Hero: Deku
Chapter three: The child
After having cast Time Stop, Ainz moved to the smug, arrogant jackass who was chasing the little girl. The man was frozen in time by the Sorcerer King's spell, so Ainz would be free to act with impunity. But Ainz was not one to be wasteful, and as such he got right to work, casting Detect Quirk on the frozen in time man who had been chasing the frozen in time little girl. It was there that Ainz got a few surprises.
Firstly, the man was named Kai Chisaki, and he was at level twenty-eight. He had one quirk and a Quirk Capacity of three. His level made him the strongest resident of the second New World that Ainz had found to date. That in and of itself was just one surprise. The other being his quirk, an Emitter-type called Overhaul, which allowed one to disassemble and reassemble any material they touch, so long as at least one digit is touching that which they wish to work with.
Ainz's mind was racing with the possibilities of such a power; Ainz wasn't sure if items from either YGGDRASIL or the first New World would be subjected to the power of Overhaul, but if that was the case then Kai Chisaki could threaten even World Items. That, if it were true, made his already great quirk even more threatening and valuable. Not wanting to waste more time gawking, Ainz exited the menu that came up for Kai.
"Harvest Quirk," Ainz said as he raised his hand back up, making a small portal appear on Kai's person as a Quirk Jewel fell out before vanishing. Ainz saw a message in the lower left corner of his vision tell him that a Quirk Jewel containing the Overhaul quirk was added to his inventory. Ainz was then about to cast one of his numerous insta-death spells to lay the now powerless Kai Chisaki low for daring to offend him.
...But Ainz stopped short as a sudden thought crossed his mind. He turned back to look at the frozen in time little girl. Still keeping Time Stop active, Ainz walked up to the little girl so he could cast Detect Quirk on her. He saw her name was Eri. Just Eri, no last name. She was level six (pretty impressive as she looks less than half the age of Bakugo who's barely a few levels stronger), had one quirk and a Quirk Capacity of... five?!
Ainz was surprised by this as five is the highest Quirk Capacity he had seen so far; from what he was able to gather by further examining the Quirk Capacity phrase as he took more quirks, the highest a single person's Quirk Capacity can be is fifteen, but it's rare to find someone with a natural Quirk Capacity at or above five; four is the common limit. This Eri girl with her Quirk Capacity of five has loads of potential.
"Perhaps that's why she's got so high a level for someone her age," Ainz remarked aloud to himself. He then examined Eri's quirk, which is called Rewind. It allowed the user to rewind any target to a prior state of being, but required a build up of a certain kind of energy first. The description for the Rewind quirk also said the horn on the user's forehead is connected to it. Rewind was certainly a very interesting quirk, and Ainz wanted to study it.
...But once again, Ainz stopped short. Eri was already clearly scared for her life because of Kai, and although Ainz was fully intending on letting Eri live (the Sorcerer King had no such thoughts for Kai though), if he took Eri's quirk then he'd be dooming her to the life that Izuku Midoriya had lived. That did not sit well with Ainz, especially as he felt it'd be spitting in the face of the boy to which Ainz felt he owed a great debt of gratitude towards.
Speaking of Izuku Midoriya, Ainz had an idea on how Eri could be used to help boost Izuku's renown as a hero. It was just the bare bones of an idea, but it made Ainz all the more wanting to ensure that little Eri here was kept alive and well. He proceeded to cast some simple spells on her, harmless ones that would soothe her worries and put her at ease, as well as make her fall asleep as soon as Time Stop was lifted.
Additionally, Ainz cast the sleep spell on Kai, but by no means were the plans Ainz had for Kai going to be friendly towards him. Ainz then cast an illusion spell to disguise himself as a normal looking adult man; it actually was a spot on replica of how he looked before he was sent to the first New World. Once again, he was in the form of Satoru Suzuki. Ainz believed this form to be best for what work he'd do with Eri.
He then released the Time Stop, but quickly caught Eri as she fell over asleep. As for Kai, Ainz simply let the arrogant sack of shit hit the ground. Carrying Eri, Ainz held up his free hand and said, "Portal to Nazarick." The portal back home reappeared, and Ainz first picked Kai's knocked out form and chucked him into the portal, before stepping through with the still asleep Eri. Ainz then had the portal close behind him.
He would give himself thirty minutes max before he had to return to the second New World so he could continue Izuku's life.
To say that Albedo and Demiurge were surprised to see an unconscious human flung through a portal into their lord's office was a bit of an understatement. Then their lord himself, they could tell it was him by the aura he radiated despite the illusion spell he had up disguising himself, stepped through while carrying a little girl in his arms. When the portal closed behind him, Ainz said, "I will explain everything, but first some arrangements need to be made."
"Lord Ainz, are those humans from the second New World that you just brought into Nazarick with you?" Demiurge said.
"Hmm?" Ainz said, "Ah yes, I just now realized that bringing humans from the second New World into Nazarick and by extension the first New World is possible. Forgive me for being so scatter-brained right now." Ainz gave the unconscious Kai a kick in the seat. "This one here has drawn my ire so much that I'm distracted by thoughts on how to punish him."
"The human at your feet as offended you, Lord Ainz?" Albedo asked, "Please, allow me to-"
"I would like to have final say in how he's dealt with," Ainz interrupted, knowing full well Albedo was going to volunteer to kill Kai for him, "Until I've settled on something, I want him kept alive. But I am not above keeping anyone from getting information out of him in the meantime."
Gesturing to Eri, Demiurge said, "What of the girl, Lord Ainz?"
"I intend to use her to help grease the wheels for my plans in the second New World," Ainz said, "As such, she must be kept-"
Ainz stopped short as Eri stirred slowly. Opening her eyes slowly, Eri looked up into the face of Satoru Suzuki. "Who... who are you?" Eri asked, then she got a bit panicked as she said, "You need to get away! If Kai sees you with me, he's going to-"
"Our good friend Kai Chisaki by no means is a threat," Ainz replied, cutting Eri off. Turning to his two smartest subordinates, Ainz said, "Demiurge, take our guest Mr. Chisaki here to get whatever information out of him that we can. Albedo, call for Sebas to come here." Both Demiurge and Albedo went about their tasks as Ainz sat Eri down on one of the sofas that was in his office. Seeing the little girl still mildly afraid concerned the Sorcerer King.
"Could you tell me why Kai Chisaki was after you?" Ainz asked.
Eri, without thinking about it, held one of her hands to the horn on her forehead. "...He said that my quirk is the key to achieving his goals," Eri said, "He's been taking my... my blood... he says my blood has trace amounts of my quirk's power in it, it lets him use my blood to make a drug that gets rid of a person's quirk forever. He's... he's very scary." Looking up at Ainz, Eri asked, "Are you sure that Kai can't hurt you?"
"Not only is he incapable of hurting anyone ever again, but I will personally see to it he is made to pay for what all terrors he had put you through," Ainz said, the new info from Eri making Ainz hate Kai even more. "Tell me, was he holding you previously? How did you escape?"
Eri looked back down. "...One of his eight elite bodyguards, Mr. Rappa. He found out what was happening, secretly let me escape while making it look like I was able to get away on my own. But Kai was going to catch me. There was no stopping him."
Ainz was intrigued by the revelation that one of Kai's own subordinates tried to compromise Kai's plans to apparently kill the quirks of everyone in the second New World. Given that an innocent little girl was being tortured for her blood to make the drugs to kill quirks, Ainz couldn't blame any of Kai's followers from acting in such a manner. Ainz if he ever found this 'Mr. Rappa' would have to go out of his way to personally commend Rappa for his efforts to help Eri.
"Your quirk must be very valuable if Kai went to such lengths to make use of it," Ainz said.
"My quirk is a curse," Eri said, "I hate it. It rewound my dad out of existence, and then my mom gave me up because of that. It's how Kai got a hold of me in the first place. I wish I didn't have my quirk, I'd rather not have a quirk at all." Ainz was a bit surprised to hear that Eri, a young child, saw her own quirk as a curse, hating it to the point she would rather be quirkless. Given what all Ainz knew of the popularity of quirks in the second New World, a desire to be quirkless wouldn't be made lightly.
It also presented Ainz with an opportunity. As Ainz was preparing to make Eri a certain offer, Albedo came back with Sebas. "My lord, I have brought Sebas as you requested," Albedo said.
"Ah, thank you Albedo," Ainz said, "And before you ask Sebas, the form I am in is an illusion I have up for the benefit of Miss Eri here. I cannot show her how I truly look as it may cause her undue fright."
"Your mercy and consideration towards others is impeccable, Lord Ainz," Sebas remarked.
Nodding once, Ainz said, "Yes. Anyway, I need you or Albedo to be ready to write down some observations." Albedo volunteered herself for the role, and moved to sit down at Ainz's desk, taking up some paper and a writing quill. Turning to look back at Eri, Ainz said, "You said that you wish to not have your Rewind quirk, to the point you would rather be quirkless. What if I were to tell you that I can grant such a wish?"
Eri looked up at Ainz, a hopeful look in her eyes. "You can do that?"
The Sorcerer King nodded once in the affirmative. "I can also replace your quirk with another one. I currently have one I believe would be a good fit for you, it would turn your ears into cat ears the same size as what your ears are right now, and also give you a cat tail proportionally correct to your size. Would that work for you?"
"I get to be a kitty?" Eri asked, looking mildly amused by the notion.
Ainz allowed himself a mild chuckle, amused in a sincerely touched way by Eri. "To an extent, yes. Now, before I proceed to act, I want to be absolutely sure you are okay with giving up the quirk that you currently have in order to receive your new quirk." Eri nodded vigorously in the affirmative. "Very well," Ainz said, before he held a hand up to Eri and said, "Harvest Quirk."
A small portal appeared on Eri before a Quirk Jewel fell out of her and disappeared. Ainz saw the message in the lower left corner of his vision telling him that a Quirk Jewel containing the Rewind quirk was added to his inventory. Eri, as her quirk was taken out of her, scrunched her face up a bit and gave off a mildly discomforted moan. Her horn also shrank until it was gone. "Are you alright, Eri?" Ainz asked, "How did the process of having your quirk harvested make you feel?"
"Chilly," Eri said, "But a kind of chilly that's nice to feel. My tummy feels numb also." A gesture from Ainz told Albedo that he wanted Eri's description of how having a quirk harvested felt like.
"Now I will be giving you a new quirk," Ainz said as he held a hand up to Eri. "Bestow Quirk." Ainz saw the list of Quirk Jewels in his inventory, found the one that contained the cat ears and tail quirk, and selected it. He saw a Quirk Jewel appear and merge into Eri, making her give off another moan. After the process was complete, Eri's ears morphed into cat ears sized to be correct for a human her size, also she grew a cat tail, again correctly sized for a human her size.
After Eri's new quirk had settled in, Ainz asked, "How did receiving a quirk make you feel?"
"...Warm," Eri said, "Pleasantly warm. Like I'm in a kitchen where lots of yummy baked sweets like cookies and brownies are being baked." Again, Albedo wrote down what Eri said.
Getting back up, Ainz said, "For the time being Eri, you will have to remain here for your own safety. I shall come back before long, but there is some issues of business that I must attend to." Turning to look at Sebas, Ainz said, "Sebas, can I count on you to keep an eye on Eri for me? Make sure she behaves herself, but don't go too harsh. You may also get the help of one of the maids if need be."
Sebas nodded once in understanding. "You have my word, Lord Ainz."
As the Sorcerer King moved to cast Portal to Nazarick in order to return to Izuku's world, Eri stopped him by saying, "You'll be back like you said, right Mr. Ainz?"
"Indeed I shall return," Ainz said, "I just have some obligations to handle first."
Eri relaxed a little bit. "...Your friends here are very nice, and the lady at the desk is also very pretty." Ainz was a bit worried that Eri's compliment on Albedo's beauty, despite being made in good faith and honest sincerity, might annoy Albedo because Eri is a human. However, the next thing that Eri said about Albedo greatly alarmed Ainz, and not because he was worried it would offend Albedo. No, it was guaranteed to make Albedo very much amused, but cause Ainz himself some trouble.
"Is the lady at the desk your wife?" Eri asked Ainz while pointing at Albedo.
For the first time since he had gained access to the second New World, Ainz felt his emotion suppression activate, calming him down as Albedo let out an excited and clearly very happy squeal of delight. Eri with just her honest innocence and a simple question had just become a human who Albedo had at least some tolerance for. Ainz said he would explain later before leaving Sebas to the duty of watching Eri for him as he used Portal to Nazarick to return to Izuku's world.
Ainz reappeared in Izuku's bedroom, and after the portal closed behind him he took a look at the time. About half an hour before Izuku's mom Inko was expected to wake up. Ainz let out a sigh as he sat down on the edge of Izuku's bed. He released the illusion that made him look like his original self, and now once more looked like a rather pale Izuku Midoriya. Things were looking to become a lot more complicated, and not just because Eri had unknowingly stroke Albedo's ego.
While his forces were extracting information about Izuku's world out of Kai, Ainz needed to make some notes on what all he's learned personally. Summoning and then reaching into the portal that contained his inventory, Ainz pulled out the notebook that held his writings about what he's learned about Izuku's world, mainly in regards to what all he's learned about quirks. He also made several notes of a more personal and speculative nature, but were still notes he felt were relevant.
By the time that the Sorcerer King was done, he looked to the time and saw that Inko was expected to be up at any moment. "I better lay in bed in case Izuku's mother comes in to check," Ainz quietly remarked to himself, putting his notebook back into his inventory and going to lay down in Izuku's bed. A minute later, he heard a knock at the door, followed by Inko calling out for Izuku to wake up as it was time to get ready for school. Ainz was already awake, but he acted like he was getting up.
He got quite a lot of experience with acting in his Momon persona.

The school day was nothing notable, although Ainz did piss Bakugo off solely because the teacher announced that Izuku got the best score in class on a test. A few other students seemed unamused that Izuku had bested them, and Ainz was able to tell that the teacher was sort of trying to get the other students against Izuku to a degree. It was obvious to Ainz that practically the whole of Aldera Junior High was against Izuku, solely due to an accident of birth Izuku had no control over.
If the people of Aldera, student and staff alike, were to learn that their blatant discrimination against Izuku had driven him to commit suicide... Ainz was doubting that any of them would at most lose more than a night of sleep over it. Ainz was being reminded more and more of the discrimination he and other inhuman player characters faced back when YGGDRASIL was still up and running. That may be why Ainz felt as strongly about the discrimination that Izuku had faced as he did.
It would certainly explain to the Sorcerer King why he was fully intending to rectify the issue.
After getting home from school (again avoiding a vengeful Bakugo by using Gate in a hidden area), Ainz handled Izuku's homework obligations before using Portal to Nazarick to return to the Great Tomb, using his illusion spell to disguise himself as Satoru Suzuki once more before stepping into the portal. A good thing he did, as when he entered his office in Nazarick, Ainz was greeted by the sight of Albedo sitting on one of the sofas with Eri sitting next to and against her, fast alseep.
Eri had also clearly been bathed, and she had also been provided with a clean and new outfit; it was essentially a replica of the outfit Ainz remembered seeing Enri's little sister wear when they visited Nazarick that one time. A little plain, but tasteful and appropriate for a young girl like Eri to wear. Ainz gave a single nod of approval before he turned to see that Sebas and Demiurge were waiting there as well to greet him.
"I hope the child wasn't too much trouble while I was gone," Ainz said.
"She was no trouble to handle, my lord," Sebas said, "I did take the liberty of having her bathed, and afterwards fed and given a fresh outfit as the simple dress she had on was little better than a rag. She fell asleep soon afterwards and hasn't woken up yet."
Nodding once in acknowledgement, Ainz then turned to Demiurge. "And what of our guest Mr. Kai Chisaki?"
"The main topic of note is that he's the head of a criminal organization in his world," Demiurge began, "In terms of size and scope, I'd compare his group to Eight Fingers. The main goal that he had with his group was to eventually do away with the powers of his world. But there are more and finer details than that."
Nodding once, Ainz said, "I got it already from Eri that Kai was using her in his ultimate bid to get rid of the powers in his world, get rid of quirks. But this is my first hearing of Kai being the head of a criminal group comparable to Eight Fingers." Holding a hand to his chin, Ainz said, "Do you think it may help with giving us a foothold in the second New World if we were to take over this group that Kai had been in charge of?"
"It would certainly be a start, my lord," Demiurge replied, "But do you intend to continue Kai's work?"
"If by that you mean work to get rid of quirks from the second New World, then no," Ainz replied, "But I will first have to review what all information that was extracted from Kai before I can make a better informed decision."
Smiling with a hint of amusement, Demiurge said, "Oh, we were able to get Kai to sing, Lord Ainz. You'll be quite pleased with the detailed and extensive knowledge we were able to get out of him in your absence. There's nothing left he has to offer."
"Good," Ainz said, "That means we won't risk losing anything by doing away with him." Gesturing to Sebas and Demiurge, Ainz said, "Sebas, please collect Eri and take her someplace safe to let her continue resting. Demiurge, go fetch Kai and bring him in chains to the throne room." Turning to Albedo, Ainz said, "Albedo, call for the other floor guardians, as well as the battle maids, to meet in the throne room." A devilish hint of amusement entered Ainz's eyes.
"...I have a plan on how to punish Kai for invoking my ire."
Later, Ainz was sitting in his throne in the throne room of Nazarick. This time, he was using his illusion spell to make himself look like his original skeletal self, making his loyal servants elated to see so grand an appearance once more. Kai Chisaki, awake and looking like he found himself in a nightmare, was on his knees a meter to Ainz's left. He wore a thick metal collar with chains, his wrists were also cuffed, and as for clothes he wore only his underwear.
Gathered in front of the base of the steps leading up to Ainz's throne were the Pleiades battle maids and the floor guardians, aside from Sebas who was watching Eri, and Demiurge who stood at Ainz's right. "My loyal followers," Ainz began as he held a hand out in greeting, "The reason I had called for all of you to some here is because I have wonderful news." Gesturing to Kai, Ainz went on, "Our guest right here, Kai Chisaki, is a human that came from the second New World. Do you know what this means?"
Holding a hand up, Mare said, "That those from his world can travel to ours, meaning that the reverse is also possible?"
"Correct, Mare!" Ainz said, "Just as those from Kai's world can come to Nazarick, so too should the inverse be true. It is strong evidence lending credence to the idea that you all are eligible to come with me to Kai's world to assist me in taking it over!" A chorus of cheers erupted from the residents of Nazarick, happy to hear it that not only can they go with their lord, but that he was looking to have them accompany him. There was no greater honor for them than to serve Ainz Ooal Gown.
Gesturing to his servants, Ainz said, "Now, in regards to our guest Kai here, the reason I had brought him to Nazarick is because I had observed him carrying out actions that had... invoked my ire, as it were. His actions had offended me greatly. As such, I wanted as much time as possible in order to deliberate on how exactly to make him pay for having dared to offend me. Hence why I gathered you all here, so that I may ask you all a very pertinent question."
Lowering the hand he was gesturing with, Ainz said, "What do you think ought to be done with Kai? The floor is open!" Right away, everyone gathered before Ainz had their hands up and calling to be picked on. Pointing at Albedo, Ainz said, "You, Albedo, you had your hand up first."
"Death by torture!" Albedo suggested, looking a bit more excited than normal.
Nodding once, Ainz said, "Alright, we'll make a note of that. Anyone else?" Seeing the sea of hands shoot back up, Ainz picked on another one. "You, Shalltear!"
"Crucifixion!" Shalltear called out.
Ainz gave a contemplative hum. "Interesting, I'm liking the religious undertones to it." Speaking up a bit more, Ainz asked, "Anyone else got an idea?" After the sea of hands went back up again, Ainz picked one as he said, "Ah, Aura!"
Lowering her hand, Aura said, "Shove a living snake up his ass!" Some of the others went silent, and both Albedo and Shalltear turned their heads slowly to look at Aura, mildly weirded out looks on the faces of both of them.
Even Ainz wasn't expecting such a suggestion out of Aura. "Ah... umm..." Ainz said, "I'm, like, ninety-one point six percent sure we won't use that, but it's very creative. Anyone else?" The hands went up once more, and Ainz picked on the first one that caught his eye. "Ah, Cocytus!"
"I think that the human who had dared to make the mistake of invoking your ire ought to be sent to Kyouhukou and his swarm in the Black Capsule," Cocytus suggested as he lowered his hand. The females who were all present in the throne room, aside from the battle maid Entoma, visibly cringed out of revolted discomfort by what Cocytus suggested. The levels of visible cringing out of the girls were varied from person to person.
As the Sorcerer King contemplated Cocytus's suggestion, Demiurge stepped forward to be directly next to him. "Lord Ainz, if I may," Demiurge began.
"What is it, Demiurge?" Ainz asked.
"I believe that out of the four options presented thus far," Demiurge started to explain, "I think the one made by Cocytus just now holds the most merit. It'll provide Kyoukukou's swarm with a source of nourishment aside from sustaining themselves via cannibalism, at least for a while. And it was learned during the extraction of information out of Kai Chisaki that he's actually something of an extreme germaphobe. Being eaten alive by giant cockroaches ought to be the worst possible kind of torture for Kai."
Kai couldn't speak or vocalize any words, but the look of dreading terror in his eyes upon hearing one of his possible tortures in this hell he now found himself in was to be fed to giant cockroaches made him look like the fright alone might be enough to kill him. Ainz, who didn't even look at Kai, held a hand to his chin as he let out a contemplative hum. "You don't say," Ainz remarked, the tone of his voice sounding like his interest had been piqued in a way that brought him amusement.
To the residents of Nazarick, Ainz announced, "In regards to determining the punishment for Kai Chisaki here, I shall use Cocytus's suggestion! For those disappointed that their suggestion wasn't used, fret not! I will be having similar discussions like this in the future when I bring in more humans from the second New World who stoke my ire!" Lowering a hand he held up in gesture, Ainz added with a hint of knowing in his tone, "I'm getting the feeling that there will be quite a few humans in the second New World who will get on my nerves too much."
As the gathered residents of Nazarick cheered in excitement over future chances of choosing what to do with a human their lord brings from the second New World to Nazarick because said human had pissed him off, Ainz turned to Demiurge. "Demiurge, when Kai is taken to the Black Capsule," the Sorcerer King began, "Make sure Kai is alive when Kyouhukou's children begin their meal."
Demiurge, a hint of amusement in the air he gave off, nodded in obedient respect to Ainz before he went to Kai, grabbed one of the chains on his collar, and proceeded to take him away, making the man scream in fright. As Kai was dragged out of the throne room, Ainz had only one thought on his mind, that being he almost felt pity for the next human in the second New World he catches trying to torment a young innocent child.

Author's notes;
This chapter sees Ainz make Kai Chisaki, aka Overhaul, look like an utter joke, going as far as he did to maximize the suffering Kai experienced solely because Ainz was pissed with what all he got Eri went through under Kai's sway. Ainz also obtains Quirk Jewels containing the respective quirks of Kai and Eri, with the latter glad Rewind was taken from her (this all occurs back when Eri hated her Rewind quirk).
Ainz also plans to use Eri to help with the plans of making Izuku Midoriya synonymous with the words pro hero, even has Sebas take care of her while Ainz himself handles Izuku's affairs for the day. The next chapter will see Ainz look into claiming all of the Shie Hassakai and all it owns for his own use, thus gaining a foothold in Izuku's world. It'll also see the first instance of Ainz bringing with him a Nazarick NPC to Izuku's world.
