A/N: ...I've been delayed. Apples and Atoms was coming along so nicely, but alas, we've had a slew of call offs due to inclement weather.
Meaning, as manager, I now have to rush in early and work-on my day off no less.
Joy of joys.
In other news, Running for the Edge, Apples and Atoms and Doctor of Demons will be updated this week most likely in that order. Thursdays are, of course usually reserved for "Surpass Your Limits". I'm truly humbled by all the feedback that one's getting.
Foxfire is nearly ready, as is Dance of the Dread and Forgotten Son, Stag, and Shed No Grace on Me. I'm also debating making Vector Prime a story -see the last two fragments- as well as writing DBD -Dead By Daylight- story involving Naruto in addition to working MASSIVE OVERTIME to acquire a PS5 so I can finally properly play Baldur's Gate 3 and Honkai Star Rail.
I'm also doing all this while recovering from long Covid, to say nothing of updating other categories. Slifer and Advent are helping where they can.
And strangest of all, I'm getting requests for me to do a Naruto x Yu Yu Hakusho stories. Why that now?! Wasn't much a fan of that rushed live action, but I have fond memories of the actual show back in the day. Especially the sheer sass of the english dub. Its a bit tempting, honestly.
So please have mercy on this old soul while I get things in order.
Alright then, here we go. The fate of this story depends on you, the reader. Your feedback determines the fate of this tale, and many others.
As ever, I own no quotes, references, themes, or memes. Not a wit or a one! They're tributes to legends far greater than I.
I'm just a humble author trying to make his way in this wild world, one word at a time.
Time and feedback will determine if this remains a story. Simple as that.
In other words...its up to YOU, the reader. Do let me know~!
Feel free to guess if this is a teaser or something else.
"There is one word that can always bring a man low.
Would you like to know it? Very well. I'll tell thee.
That word would be...
~?
A Critical Hit
"Papa!"
Naruto suffered critical damage!
By the sage he actually coughed blood for a second there.
Somehow, by some miracle, he managed to steady himself before his brood barreled into him, but only just; scarce had he planted his feet than they were upon him.
Young Radahn found him first, the boisterous boy bounded forward with startling speed to collide with his chest and nearly bowled him over on the spot. That settled it. Gravity magic was just plain bullshit. He had quite the grip, too, yanking as his long hair like that. A rueful sigh fled from his lips.
Rykard wasn't far behind his big brother; the little lad slammed into his legs, forcing him to catch himself on the wall even as he caught Radahn with his free hand.
Said hand was promptly plucked by a smaller pair of hands which told him little Ranni had snuck up on him when he wasn't looking.
He caught her small shy smile out the corner of his eye and drew her close.
All well and good, they hadn't managed to knock him down this time.
"Alright," he rumbled. "Who wants presents?"
The little ones burst into delighted cheers.
He'd call that a successful day...
.
..
...wait.
Waaaaitaminute.
Where was the dog?
A mighty woof was his sole warning before a massive red wolf struck his back and bowled all four of them down. A wet nose pushed into his face, followed by a rough tongue as his faithful hound expressed its joy at his return the only way it knew how; its long tail relentlessly thumping the ground behind it.
"Ach! Down boy! Heel! Not the fac! Blech! I'm happy to see you, too!"
Of course that sent the children into a fit of giggles.
He heard Rennala laugh in the background.
"Welcome home, beloved."
A/N: Aaaand scene.
Ah, but is is it an upcoming new story or a scene that has yet to be written?
Will anyone guess correctly in their delightful reviews? I'd be willing to award the winner a prize~!
Hope this little tidbit of a teaser made you smile! Now I'm racing off to work. Looking forward to chatting with you all when I get back!
As ever, reviews are the fuel that sustain me. Without them I cannot write a single word. Simple as that. Working nearly all hours of the day keep me absurdly busy, as such, I can't bring myself to write something folks don't like.
No previews this time. I'm exhausted.
Aaaand there we go. As ever, reviews keep me alive. Without them, I cannot write.
So...in the Immortal Words of Atlas...Review...Would You Kindly?
Hope you enjoyed this, and may your day be filled with lots of luck!
Warm regards,
~Nz.
