Chapter 12
Rukia was a bit uncomfortable as she walked behind Mizurio. She was so happy to have found Mizurio to help her. The club he walked her to was a bit small but she didn't question it. She walked in behind Mizurio and was disgusted the moment she walked in. Mizurio seemed to have left out that he owned a strip club. Rukia watched as women stripped naked and flashed their breasts in front of disgusting lust filled men's faces as music boomed through the whole club. Rukia cleared her throat and asked Mizurio if she could use a phone. Mizurio simply smiled and walked Rukia to his office. It was in the back secluded away from all the music and chaos of the club. His office was lit up by multicolored LED lights and was relatively small. Mizurio walked to his office chair and sat down. Rukia saw a phone by the edge of his desk and smiled. She bowed but before Rukia could use the phone Mizurio grabbed her hand and smiled.
"I am curious. Rukia, why exactly were you walking in the streets of Dangai at this time of the hour?"
Rukia frowned, "I went to clear my head and got lost."
Mizurio's smile never left his face. The more Rukia looked at it the more creepier it was. She even noticed Mizurio's teeth were yellow and he seemed more creepy in his movements. Especially as he was touching her hand and rubbing it sensually.
"Ah you look so beautiful my dear as if you haven't been broken in."
Rukia pulled her hand back and gave a worried look, "Please can I use your phone so I can call my employer."
Mizurio frowned for a second but his smile came back tenfold, "Employer? So you're already claimed? Weird, I don't see anything that shows who you're claimed to. No necklace, tattoo, or maybe even a burn mark."
Rukia huffed and turned to leave. She was not going to be insulted by a strip club owner. As she tried to leave Mizurio snapped his fingers and a brown haired man with a bit of a bulked frame walked in. Rukia stepped back afraid of what was happening.
"Rukia Keigo Keigo Rukia. Keigo is my best friend and he has been a bit lonely lately. Women usually reject him. I hate to see him lonely, you know and the women that work here are all sluts. You on the other hand smell and look fresh."
Rukia's eyes widened as Keigo approached her and grabbed her. She screamed and tried to fight back but he overpowered her. Rukia tried to push Keigo off of her but he was not budging. Rukia pleaded as Keigo restrained her. Mizurio laughed as Rukia started crying. She begged and pleaded but Mizurio simply smiled even more.
"Don't worry dear Rukia, we aren't barbaric, we hate to hear the screams of such a beautiful woman."
Rukia couldn't even think as she felt something hit her head. Her vision was fuzzy; she could hear distorted laughter as Keigo touched her. She weakly tried to scream but she was starting to fade and see dark. Just before she passed out she heard a single gunshot and heard someone burst in the room.
"The Demon is here along with the Quincies and Arrancar."
She could hear a faint gasp from Mizurio, "What is Ich-"
Everything went black for Rukia. She tried to hold on for as long as she could but her body had given out on her. Before she even opened her eyes she could hear beeping and crying. She tried to open her eyes but the sheer pain from trying just caused her to fall back into a dark slumber. It felt like days of her trying to open her eyes and then falling in and out of sleep. She had no idea what was happening. She would hear voices screaming and she felt people touching her hand. She was getting frustrated at a point she was getting tired of being tired. She mustered as much willpower as she could and winced as she slowly opened her eyes. She looked and saw she was in a hospital. The room was identical to Ashido's but way bigger. Everything was still kind of fuzzy as she tried to slowly regain her consciousness.
"Oh my gosh she's awake!"
Rukia moved her eyes to see her aunt and sisters running to her side and holding her hand. She was confused.
"Aaauntie, Hhhisana, Hhhomura?"
Rukia cringed at how she spoke as if she was a toddler who has never had water before. Rukia sighed heavily as she held her sisters and aunt's hand. She did notice after a second that Shizuku wasn't there and immediately sat up forgetting the pain. Hisana laid Rukia back gently and looked at Shirayuki. Shirayuki looked down and sighed.
"Shizuku was here the first night when we got the call. When he saw you he had a mental breakdown we had to escort him out. Homura and Hisana stayed with him to calm him down while I talked to the doctor. The next day when we brought him here he lashed out and started to try and fight the doctors and even Mr. Kurosaki. At that point we had to keep him home, luckily no one pressed charges." Shirayuki explained.
Rukia's eyes widened, Shizuku was a fragile being she knew that him seeing her probably put him in a dark place.
"Wwwhat happppened?"
Homura ran to get Rukia some water which she was grateful for. Rukia slurped the water down as if she was in a desert. She was so thirsty it felt as if she was in heaven as she took deep gulps of the water. She took a deep breath and stared at her family expectantly.
"There was a raid at this club and they found you in the office of the owner. You had been knocked out clean and you needed stitches. Apparently they knocked you out with a beer bottle then one of the perps stepped on your head in a hurry. What happened why the fuck were you at a strip club Rukia?" Hisana asked.
Rukia looked away in anger, "I was lost, this stupid guy named Mizurio told me he could help me. He lured me to his office with the hopes of using his phone and then he tried to get his friend Keigo to have his way with me. They knocked me out, the last thing I remember was gunshots and them running away."
"Mizuiro Kojima?" Hisana asked.
Shirayuki looked at Rukia, "Was that his name?"
Rukia nodded, "Yeah"
Homura gave Hisana a look, "How do you know his name?"
Hisana turned even more paler, "I was snooping in Byakuya's files and saw his name."
Rukia sighed, "Who found me?"
"Mr. Kurosaki said that his daughter was hysterical, saying you weren't in your room. He and his workers searched high and low for you." Shirayuki stated.
Her family had updated her and in turn she updated everyone on Ashido being in the hospital as well. Homura was surprised, Shirayuki was indifferent and HIsana didn't seem surprised at all. She told them everything, not leaving anything out about everything that has transpired the last couple of weeks. They stayed and talked with her and watched tv with her but after hours they had to leave to go back to Karakura and check on Shizuku. Rukia hugged her aunt and youngest sister and told them to tell Shizuku she loved him and she was alright. Hisana gave her aunt and sister a hug goodbye and then sat down on a nearby couch and watched Rukia. She was not allowed to eat yet so her family made sure not to eat in front of her.
"So why were you walking out at night?"
Rukia blushed and simply spilled everything about the kiss to Hisana she would never hide anything from her sister or family in general that's not how they were. They were a unit of a family. They told each other everything. Hisana looked absolutely mortified to hear about the kiss, not what she expected honestly.
"Wait, you kissed him or he kissed you?"
Rukia ushered for more water; she felt her mouth was getting dry. Hisana gave her the water and waited for Rukia to answer. Rukia savored every sip of water as if it would be her last. She cleared her throat and then went to answer her sister's question.
"Well it was weird he kissed me but he muttered under his breath that he was sorry. I think because he doesn't want me to quit or maybe because you know it wasn't consensual I don't know." Rukia stated.
Hisana gave her sister a hug, "Rukia you are the most naive woman out there. I blame myself for sugar coating things to you when you were younger. When people would make fun of you I would brush it off to you as their jealousy and deal with them myself. When a guy would hit on you I would just tell you he's being a friend or friendly and then deal with him afterwards. Homura didn't help either since she did the same thing to you and as you know we all do this to Shizuku."
Rukia rolled her eyes, "Hisana I just rather believe the good in others but what's the problem with Ichigo kissing me?"
Hisana sighed, "Rukia if you would have told me this when you first started the job I wouldn't have said a word but now that I know more I'm just scared…Ichigo is a big business man you know he has a lot of stalkers."
Rukia frowned and went to say something but she stopped when she saw Hisana's left wrist. There was a gothic uppercase B in cursive tattooed on her and Rukia immediately had a flashback to when Mizurio told her about being claimed. Rukia took a deep breath and then changed the subject to how long she had been out. Hisana explained she had been out for three days and Ichigo and his family visited her on the first day and Uryu had been making sure she was taken care of.
"So umm do I have to talk to the cops?" Rukia asked.
Hisana shook her head, "Nope , the investigation is already happening since Byakuya knows people in the police force. I'll relay this information to him about Mizurio and Keigo."
Rukia nodded suspiciously. Hisana and Rukia talked for a bit longer but she got a call from Byakuya and she told Rukia she had to go. Rukia and Hisana hugged and went to say their goodbyes but something in Rukia came over her. She grabbed her sister's hand and smiled.
"Hisana if there was something going on you would tell me right? You aren't keeping anything from me are you?"
Hisana smiled and kissed Rukia's hand, "I will always protect you and our family. I love you and I have to go."
Rukia watched as her sister left and frowned; she had never felt as if her sister was hiding anything ever in her life until today. During her stay Rukia would sneak out of her room to check on Ashido. Something wasn't right and Rukia was starting to see that. Ashido had yet to wake up but she would hug him and kiss him on the cheek all the same. She knew something was off, especially when the nurses would watch when she would go in Ashido's room. Rukia was discharged three days later on the last day Shizuku had come to see her and he gave her the biggest hug ever. She kissed him, not letting him go for what felt like ever. He was crying and screaming as his sisters and aunt hugged him trying to comfort him. Hana and Mia were there as well and were a bit frightened by Shizuku's behavior. Yumi on the other hand was amazed by how they all treated each other she was so unfamiliar with the love she was seeing. Ichigo told Rukia's family he would take care of her as they departed but Homura and Shizuku frowned.
"She's coming home with us." Homura stated.
Shizuku nodded, "She needs to be with family, not strangers."
Hisana cleared her throat, "Well maybe we should keep her in Ichigo's hands since we don't if Rukia is in the clear."
Shirayuki gave Hisana a look, "I think it's best that Rukia is in my care for a bit, no one knows her better than family."
Rukia watched her sister as she gave Ichigo a subtle look, "Guys it would be best if she was with Ichigo. Plus the girls have become attached to Rukia."
Hana and Mia were starting to whine while Yumi grabbed Rukia's hand.
"Why don't we compromise? I understand that Rukia is your biological family but she has become family to us as well." Yumi explained.
Rukia touched her heart; she didn't think Yumi would ever consider her family. She wanted to cry with how sweet it was.
Hisana nodded, "Absolutely let's compromise, how about you guys stay with me and Byakuya we can be close to Rukia and make sure she is okay."
Everyone agreed and went to leave. Before leaving, Rukia asked if she could visit Ashido before going home. Ichigo was against it making the excuse that she should really get situated at the house. Shizuku and Homura frowned and said they would take Rukia to the room. Byakuya had come to the hospital while they were escorting her to Ashido's room. She wishes she could see the on his face when Hisana would tell him about the family staying with them. Rukia asked Shizuku and Homura to wait outside for her; they nodded and waited. It was hitting four so Rukia knew Ashido's family would be there soon. Rukia walked over to him and could see him stirring. Her eyes got big as Ashido looked at her. He looked around quickly and grabbed her hand.
"Rrrukia yooou neeed to run ddon't truuussst-"
"Time to go!"
Ashido went dead as he quickly laid back down and closed his eyes. Rukia was covering him so the person didn't see anything. Rukia turned and saw a greenish haired woman with a small smile. Rukia looked at her name tag and saw her name was Candice. Rukia frowned as the girl walked up to her and looked Ashido over.
"Has he woken up?"
Rukia shook her head, "Nope he's jerking a lot but he hasn't woken up at all since I've been here actually."
Candice smiled, "Oh we have him on so many painkillers he's in and out of sleep."
Rukia took a deep breath and kissed Ashido's cheek and quickly whispered in his ear she would be back. She hugged him quickly and left and bowed, thanking Candice for taking care of Ashido. Rukia could see the disdain on her face as she hugged Ashido. Candice smiled and Rukia went on her way. Shizuku and Homura were waiting at the door and immediately grabbed Rukia's hand and walked her down to the lobby. Everyone was in the lobby. Ichigo went to grab Rukia but Shirayuki grabbed Rukia and smiled.
"I will drive Rukia to your place."
Ichigo frowned, "No need I can take her."
Homura huffed, "You have a sports car, we can't handle fast rides like that, not that you would know this but Rukia has a fear of speeding cars."
Rukia wished her sister didn't say that she had been riding in Ichigo's sports car for a bit; she didn't want him to feel horrible for always speeding. Ichigo gave the family a frustrating look but complied. Rukia walked with her family to her aunt's car and sat her in the front. Hisana and Byakuya were talking and told them they would meet them at Ichigo's house. They drove to the house. Shizuku asked Rukia every five minutes if she was okay and Homura would check Rukia's head. Shirayuki asked Rukia if she felt safe and if she wanted to come back to the house. Rukia shook her head saying she loved her job and the girls. Shirayuki sighed heavily but nodded and continued driving when they got to the gate Homura made herself known and Takoa glared as Homura glared back not saying anything. Rukia giggled at their interaction and thought they would probably be cute together with how their personalities were. Shirayuki parked in front of the house and Ichigo was there and quickly picked Rukia up in his arms. Rukia's aunt glared as she got out of the car Homura and Shizuku following close behind.
"Well then I got it from here." Ichigo stated.
Shizuku screamed in frustration, "Who are you, who do you think you are? You are nobody, she's our family not yours you just pay her. I bet you think you can buy us. Is that why you sent us those gifts?"
Homura nodded, "Yeah we almost lost our sister you almost lost a Nanny. She should be with us, not you. Money can't buy our compliance."
Hisana ran over to them, "Hey guys lets just chill here."
"I think it really would be better to have Rukia in my care. I can take care of her better than anyone." Shirayuki stated.
Rukia could tell the guards were starting to get involved and she noticed how Byakuya's men were stiffened as if waiting for something to happen. Rukia didn't feel comfortable and she had been silent up till now.
"You know I think I'm going to get some clothes and stay with Hisana and my family. My aunt is right, no one can take care of me like they can." Rukia announced.
Yumi's eyes widened, "No you can't leave me by myself Rukia."
Rukia hugged Yumi and smiled, "I'm sure you can come over too. Go get your stuff, you can stay with me in my room."
Hana and Mia whined and hugged Rukia saying they wanted to come too. Rukia looked at Ichigo and she could tell he was upset. He walked over to Byakuya and talked to him for a minute. Byakuya gave a defeated look but nodded. Ichigo walked over to the group and told them to pack a bag and Byakuya would let them stay for a bit. The girls cheered and ran to pack some clothes. Rukia watched as Hisana said she would pack Rukia a bag. Everyone went back to their cars and Ichigo walked Rukia to the car. She was confused as Ichigo gave her a box. She opened it and immediately shivered. It was a black choker necklace with a D in gothic cursive on it. She took it and thanked Ichigo. He said it was a thank you gift but Rukia was starting to put pieces together in her head.
"I'll visit you as much as I can."
Rukia nodded and thanked Ichigo. Ichigo put the necklace on Rukia and Rukia instinctively shivered; she felt as if she was property the moment it touched her neck. Ichigo caressed Rukia's cheek causing her to blush a bit.
"I'm so sorry I should have been more attentive."
Rukia chuckled, "Remember I'm a grown woman I can make my own decisions I'm not one of your kids."
Ichigo snorted and leaned into the car where his lips were close to hers almost an inch apart but Homura made a sound of disgust. Rukia backed away and turned her head to see her two younger siblings glaring at came out ten minutes later with bags upon bags. The girls were loaded into a current year Range Rover. They had so many bags Rukia guessed it was because rich kids didn't know how to pack. Everyone was loaded into the cars. The girls hugged their father Yumi on the other hand waved goodbye.
It took them a good thirty minutes to get to Byakuya's place the moment they got out Byakuya stopped them and laid down some rules. He was very strict and since the girl had school tomorrow he told them that they were to be in bed by nine. Everyone nodded in understanding. Rukia was taken care of and she was brought to one of the biggest rooms and told to relax. Shirayuki stated she would make her famous stew along with some homemade ice cream. Rukia thanked her aunt. Homura and Shizuku said they would head out and get Rukia her pain meds and some of her favorite snacks, Mia went with Homura and Shizuku while Hana followed Shirayuki around like a little duckling.
Rukia relaxed in the comfy bed and turned on a cooking show. She got cozy and before she knew it she was asleep. She woke up and looked at the time and saw it was ten. She sighed heavily, cursing herself for sleeping so long. She looked out the window and saw it was lit up with lights. Byakuya had a nice place. It was big but not too big. It looked extravagant and elegant which to Rukia screamed Byakuya Kuchiki. It wasn't the small little condo Rukia was thinking of; she wished Hisana had told her they moved. Rukia laid back in the bed shocked when someone knocked on the door and even more shocked when she saw it was Byakuya. Rukia sat up more straight and cleared her throat. Byakuya was wearing a pair of black pajama pants and a white shirt with Hisana's face on it. His hair was pulled back and he had a stoic look. He had a bowl and a glass cup in his hands. Rukia gestured for Byakuya to sit and he did.
"I heard movement and assumed you were awake. I know it is late but you have to eat something." Rukia bowed and took the stew and lemonade. He looked at the show Rukia was looking at and then cleared his throat. "Your sister told me you were a baker."
Rukia grinned and sipped on her lemonade and nodded. "I have tried some of your bakes, they are good."
"Well I wish I could get a job for my good bakes but I'm blacklisted."
"Because of your ex Kano."
Rukia stopped sipping her lemonade and stared Byakuya down, "How do you know that?"
"Hisana blabs about everything to me." Byakuya answered.
Rukia laughed at that, "Thank you for being so good to my sister and letting us stay here."
"I love your sister and thus I love you and your family…May I ask how Ichigo has been treating you."
Rukia smiled, "He's been great, he's really sweet."
Byakuya gave a very small smile, "I am happy to hear that."
Rukia smiled and ate some of her stew. Byakuya made sure she was comfortable and then got up to leave. Rukia decided to push her luck by talking to Byakuya and stopped him.
"Hey may I ask a question?"
Byakuya turned to Rukia and nodded hesitantly, "Of course."
"You own a business that has to do with mechanics and engineering. Why do you meet with Ichigo if he's in business for medicine?" Rukia asked.
"Rukia Seireitei operates differently; we all work together regardless of what we specialize in."
Rukia frowned; she didn't like that answer but she simply nodded and thanked Byakuya for the late dinner. He bowed and then left. Rukia ate a bit more and took little sips of her lemonade before setting her alarm to six in the morning. She decided to get a head start to see Ashido. Shirayuki and Hisana had already agreed to get the girls ready for school and Homura and Shizuku had classes so waking up at six would definitely be a safe bet.
The next morning when Rukia alarms went off she immediately turned them off and ran to wash up. She rushed to put on a pair of faded blue jeans and an oversized shirt with the words chefs kiss on it. She ever so quietly snuck into her aunt's room after two failed attempts to find it and took her car keys and snuck out to the only lonely cheap looking car in the parking lot. Unlike Ichigo, Byakuya didn't have a gate which confused Rukia; he probably had higher security then Ichigo. She started the car and the moment that happened someone was immediately in front of the car asking her where she was going. The person was wearing a mask that looked almost devilish. He had brown long hair pinned up into a high ponytail.
"Oh I'm going to get breakfast then I'm going to go see a friend." Rukia answered.
"Well then allow one of us to escort you."
Rukia frowned, "No need I'm a big girl I'm going to text Hisana in a minute to let her know but I just want to be alone."
The guard shrugged, "Go I'm not going to stop you then just make sure you have your story straight."
Rukia was caught off guard, "Wait you're not going to fight me on this?"
The guy chuckled, "Hell no I totally understand wanting freedom. My stupid brother is always trying to control things. Us younger siblings have to look out for each other you know." Rukia gave a questioning look and the guy laughed a bit then bowed, "Forgive me I am Senbonzakura Kuchiki. I know my name is weird but I'm stuck with it. I'm the youngest Kuchiki."
Rukia smiled, "Thank you."
Rukia drove off to the hospital. She got there around six-forty and avoided being seen as she walked to Ashido's room. She made absolutely sure no one saw her as she entered Ashido's room. When she got in the room she could hear Ashido peacefully snoring. She walked up to his bed and smiled. He was looking way better, almost like himself again. Rukia felt bad but she nudged him a bit, waking him out of slumber. He slowly opened his eyes and gave a panicked look when he saw Rukia. Rukia shushed him and told him no one saw her come in; he nodded in understanding and took a deep breath.
"What happened to you?"
Ashido sighed heavily, "I was beaten felt like I was going to die. Kiriko didn't tell me that I would be catering to..high profile people."
Rukia's eyes widened, "What?"
Ashido grabbed Rukia's hand and squeezed it, "You need to run Rukia. I don't know what they're going to do to me once I'm fully healed. They've been drugging me heavily so that anytime you visit I'll be a fucking vegetable. You can't trust anyone but your immediate family. I can't say anything else, no names, the walls have ears." Ashido pulled Rukia even closer so that his lips were on her ear, "You can't trust your precious sister Hisana either."
Rukia gave Ashido a shocked look as he laid back in the bed and closed his eyes just in time because someone had barged in. Rukia turned expecting to see Ashido's family but was surprised and a bit weary when she saw Ichigo. Ichigo gave Rukia a look before smiling and subtly trying to see Ashido.
"Rukia what are you doing here? You just got out of the hospital, you need rest."
Rukia took a breath, "Ashido is my friend. I wanted to see if he had woken up yet. What are you doing here?"
"Well I was going to see how much longer Ashido had before he was discharged. He's been healing magnificently. I know he's your friend so I wanted to personally take care of him. I even got the cops involved and wanted to see if he was okay enough to speak to them." Ichigo stated.
Rukia nodded, "Oh well no he hasn't woken up yet."
Ichigo smiled, "Rukia, would you want to go to dinner tonight?"
"I don't know."
Ichigo grabbed Rukia's hand and walked her out to the main lobby in front of everyone and kissed her softly on the lips. Rukia was taken by surprise as she stiffened not knowing what to do.
"I want to ask you something important." Ichigo stated.
Rukia was too shocked to say anything and simply nodded. Ichigo smiled and caressed his hand against Rukia's cheek and walked away. Rukia was red and confused and didn't know what to do. Meanwhile off in the distance the brown haired woman in a trench coat was smirking as she and her pale orange haired comrade looked in the distance.
"So we're going to kill her?"
The woman laughed, "Hush now no I've been watching her. She has nothing to do with the families plus she has been a great mother figure to Yumi. We could use her to our advantage though."
They laughed sinisterly as they watched a confused Rukia head back to her car.
A/N Alright this is my last chapter for a while. I am sorry but my first day back at school whooped my ass so I want this to try and hold you guys over until I can upload again. Please be patient. I am trying to not ruin this story like I've done with so many of my other ones. I want this to be good and readable. Please review it truly helps me.
