A/N: I think I'm just going to update all fanfics on Monday. Makes my life easier.
I was running through the trees, my feet moving so quickly it was like I was floating. The human girl in my arms still crying albeit silently this time. I took deep breaths, my throat burning with every inhale. It had been years but my memory was as sharp as ever. I knew that my old coven, my family, had a permanent residence in these woods. I skid to a stop abruptly, jolting the girl in my arms roughly. The house looms darkly, not out of place in the shady forest.
"Name?" I grunt, dropping the girl on the floor unceremoniously.
Her sobbing comes harder again. My teeth grit at the grating sound. "Shut the fuck." I snarl.
"Just let me go." She scream cries.
I grip her arm dragging her into the gloomy house. Great, back to fighting against me once more.
"I SAID LET ME GO." She slaps me across the face.
The silence surrounding us is deafening. I turn to look at her, blinking slow. Another deep breath to calm my nerves, lest I kill her right fucking now.
"I'm sor-"
"If you put your hands on me again I promise I'll end your pitiful life." My voice is low, ominous.
She sucks in a shaky breath; nodding her head to let me know she understands.
"What the fuck is your name? It'll be the last time I ask you."
"Be..Bella."
"Bella. You're mine now. Well stay here for now I guess." I looked around the dusty room. "You're to be a source of food for me."
She said nothing but the sound of her galloping heart let me know she was listening. The wet thumping was driving me insane. I pull her to me, my mouth watering.
"I should feed again." I muse.
"NO." She claws at me.
I growl. "Isabella. You're starting to get on my nerves. I'm warning you that's not in your best interest."
"No. Let me fucking go you creep. My father is chief of police. He'll…he'll arrest you."
I bark out a loud laugh. "Your dad will never find you and if he does he'll have to deal with me. Your blood is too sweet, too delicious, I'm never giving it up."
Her eyes finally meet mine. Red to chocolate. Her gasp comes out strangled as she shrinks away from me.
"Wha…what are you?"
I stare at her a beat to long which only makes her heart thunderous. Her fear soaks into my skin, it's all I can do not to attack her again. I flash across the room. I need distance and air. If I want her blood to last then I need to play this safe. No one has ever tested my control this way. The smell and taste of her life is potent. I want to drink until there isn't a drop left but my need to have more keeps that temptation at bay. I need to hunt.
"Why me?" Her voice is small but she's not crying anymore.
I cock my head at her. "Wrong place wrong time." I say simply.
She nods meekly, sniffling as she tries not to burst into tears again.
Her breath comes out in a whisper. "Are you going to kill me?"
"I'm trying not to but you're trying my patience." I huff.
"I'll need to hunt again. You stay here. Don't try to run. I'll find you and it won't be pretty. Or maybe some woodland creature will get you. We are deep in the woods." I chuckle darkly.
She sucks in a shaky gulp of air. I say nothing else as I run from the room. I find myself back at the warehouse district, back where I found her. Excitement courses through my veins when I see those good for nothing humans who were harassing her.
"Wha-"
The leader doesn't even get a chance to comprehend what's happening before my teeth tear into him, draining him dry. I suck greedily. My thirst raging now that I'm away from the girl. I imagine I'm feeding from her, her sweet blood coating my throat. With a grunt of disgust I toss his limp body to the side. Revulsion erupting inside me.
My face lifts into the air; nose flaring as I sniff out his friends. They'll all die at my hands tonight. That should keep me satiated long enough for me to drink from Bella. Just the thought of her mouthwatering blood ramps me up. I can't wait to have her again.
