A/N: Sorry for the short chapters. I'm keep them short since this is lowkey a tester story. But I hope ya'll enjoy!
I run towards the house, this time slower. I gorged myself and can feel the blood sloshing inside me. I notice, just as I cross the threshold of trees, how absolutely quiet it is. She ran. I raise my face to the air, sniffing. Found you I chuckle to myself.
As I run into the woods behind the abandoned house I spot her. She's staggering in the dark trying to map a path. I growl just loud enough for her to hear. My lips curling into a sinister smile at the smell of her unease.
"Hello..?" She calls out softly.
I whoosh past her, purposely stepping loudly on a twig. The snap of the branch reverberates through the brush. She screams and starts running blindly.
"Oof."
Her body collides with mine sending her flying back. Her eyes widen with fear and she starts panting heavily.
"I told you I'd find you silly girl."
"Oh it's you."
I tilt my head at the sound of relief in her voice. Strange. I think nothing else of it; scooping her up and running her back to the house. I drop her roughly on the floor of the living room.
"You keep testing my patience girl. Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you right now." I snarl.
"NO.. my blood tastes good right. So if I die you can't feed from me anymore?"
Her survival instincts are kicking in now. I smirk darkly as she tries to compromise with me. I like her agreeable. It'll make it easier to keep her around. Though I have to admit the animal side of me likes the fight. He takes thrill in the hunt and chase.
"That's correct." My voice is soft.
"So keep me, you have to keep me."
"You sound desperate. I'm not even sure you're worth my time anymore. The past few hours alone I've imagine ending you a thousand times over."
She gasps for air absorbing my words.
"Please don't. I'll do anything. Please." She begs in a whimper.
Got you. I smile triumphantly. My skin tingling with the pleasure of being able to feed from her unbidden and uninterrupted.
"Anything you say?"
An infinitesimal nod is her response.
"Let me have you Bella." I croon smoothly.
"If it keeps me alive, take me."
I groan at her words. A thrill shooting up my spine. The thirst comes back full force. My body and mind fight the need to drink.
"Gladly but not right now. If I don't give you time between feedings I might kill you."
"What's your name?" Her voice is barely there.
"Edward."
"Well Edward, when you kill meā¦make it quick."
