Saito and Louise were currently inside the throne's room of the kingdom of Tristania, kneeling before Henrietta with some guards being present there as well. The two of them got invited from her because she had another important mission to give them, which was related to Albion and Reconquista.

"I apologize for calling you so suddenly, Louise, Saito-kun.", she told them with a sad smile.

"Don't be, Princess. Whenever you need help, we're always ready to give it.", said the pinkette, with her boyfriend nodding in agreement.

"I'm glad to know it. The mission I have for you concerns Albion: my fiancee, prince Wales, suspects that there may be someone that could attempt to kill him in his kingdom. So I'm asking you to travel towards there to find out something and protect him."

The purple headed girl's words left the couple speechless; it was absurd that even her fiancee risked to be harmed or worse in his own kingdom, which caused Saito to frown. "Princess, I will go there with Louise and we will do our best to accomplish this mission.", he said, rising up.

Her boyfriend's words full of determination made the petite maiden blush and smile, so she got up too and repeated what he said, making Henrietta smile. "Thank you very much. This mission could be very dangerous, so you will be accompanied by someone. Please, come in."

The room's door opened and a man with long hair, dressed in blue and grey with a big hat entered inside, causing the young Gandalf and his master to gasp. "J-Jean?"

"What are you doing here?", asked Saito instead seriously.

"Nice to see you two again. As the princess told you, I'm the person that shall accompany you towards Albion as my duty as chief of Tristain's Knights.", he explained them with a smile.

"I know that you and he are not betrothed, but his abilities will surely be helpful to both of you, Louise.", said Henrietta instead.

Saito walked towards the viscount then, stopping in front of him to look at his face seriously. "If she places her trust in you, I will do the same. Don't try anything funny with Louise though.", he told him, showing his hand for a handshake while the pinkette blushed.

"I won't, don't worry. You showed me in our spar match how dear she is to you.", said Jacques, keeping his smile and shaking his hand.

Of course, the young swordsman didn't really trust him because someone that stated to be his girlfriend's fiancee despite she never accepted it wasn't exactly the type of person he could easily trust. "I thank you dearly for your kindness, Princess.", said Louise to her childhood friend, with Saito and Jean nodding. After that, the couple left the throne's room, accompanied by a servant towards their bedroom.

The foreign boy was willing to stay by the Charming Fairies to greet Charon and the maids, but he had the feeling that Jessica would flirt with him if they went there, causing his beloved pinkette to get jealous most likely. Albion took around a day to reach it by riding a horse, so the group would stop at night in a safe area in the forest. In fact, Saito took a bag with the necessary things to build a tent for him and the pinkette, unwilling to let her suffer the cold night.

During the ride, she was happily hugging his back with her red face on it; it felt like she was together a prince like in those fairytales Cattleya read for her before sleeping. The viscount frowned at seeing their interaction, but his expression morphed into a wicked grin which only meant something bad.

Anyways, the three of them continued to ride for several hours, making some stops to let rest the horses and to have lunch. Jacques was disgusted by how Louise fed Saito sweetly, though he avoided to show it in order to not start a futile discussion.

He wasn't aware that the swordsman kept an eye on him because he didn't really trust him. He could win Henrietta's trust thanks to his role as chief of the knights, but after what happened with Fouquet, the young man wouldn't trust anyone so easily. Especially a man that tried to butt in his relationship with Louise.

Certainly Montmorency tried to use a love potion on him, but after what happened and their reconciliation, their friendship was back to how it was. Even if the blondie was fairly clingy with him like Siesta and Sylphid.

When the night arrived, the Gandalf set up the tent and the sleeping bag to share for him and Louise, noticing that Jacques was still drinking some water. "Aren't you going to sleep?", he asked him.

"I'm used to stay awake even if it's late. I fought various battles in situations like this.", was the bearded man's reply.

"I see. By the way, what did Louise's father say?"

"I haven't met him yet, though he will surely be annoyed. Even if she loves you, you're still a plebeian."

"You could even avoid that word. Regardless, I'm her familiar and her boyfriend, so I don't care if her family will be against it. Neither if you are against it.", he told him defiantly, making the noble scowl.

"Tsk, you lack of respect for those that stand higher than you. I guess I will go to sleep thanks to you."

After saying that, Jean finished his glass of water and went to his own tent while Saito observed him. Even if he acted like a gentleman, he was right in seeing just another spoiled noble in him which was another reason he disliked him.

'I understand deeper every day why commoners and nobles hate each other. If the seconds stopped disrespecting the first, maybe this world's society could get better.', he thought, heating a piece of meat above the fire before eating it. Maybe there were some things that he still had to find out in the world he lived now, but he really hoped that the society would work better.

Finishing his piece of meat, he was about to go to sleep, until he felt danger and swung Derflinger to block a hit from behind. The face of his aggressor made him glare.

"What the heck are you doing?", he asked Jacques.

"I'm just trying to get rid of you. With you gone, nothing will stop me from getting Louise for myself.", was the reply, accompanied by an evil smile.

"I was right in not trusting you. I don't know your true intentions, but you're an idiot if you think that I let you take her away."

Both of them took fighting positions then, glaring menacingly at each other. Jean noticed the continuous shine emitted by his runes, which seemed brighter than before.

Though, he had to block an attack from the boy, whose force caused some air waves. "Last time it was a spar match. But now I will be serious."

Saito was shocked when his enemy's magic wand shot a lightning to him, which he managed to dodge and made it hit a tree that got reduced in pieces. "L-Lightning magic?"

"You're right. I'm capable of generating lightnings that even your sword can't absorb that easily with its ability."

"S-Saito? Jacques? What are you two doing?!"

The pinkette's voice attracted their attention, so they looked at her to see her scared expression. "Louise, take cover somewhere! This guy is a traitor that is trying to kill me."

"W-what?! You…"

"No need to glare at me, Louise. I'm just getting rid of the nuisance between us."

His words only made her angrier, hating how he dared to insult her beloved like that. Said beloved attempted to hit him again, but he was forced to dodge another lightning.

'As long as he can shoot those attacks, I can't get a chance to hit him. I will try this.'

Getting ready, he ran rapidly towards Jean, avoiding his attacks in order to hit him with Chaos Blade. Still, 3 lightnings impeded him to reach him, so he gritted his teeth in annoyance.

"It's useless. You can try as much as you want, but you will never hit me."

"Fine, in this case, I will do this."

To the pinkette and Jean's reaction, he took out another but very thin sword from his scabbard. "S-Saito, when you-"

"This is a present from Colbert-sensei. Let's see how you will fight me like this.", he said, going for another attack.

"Fool! Even with 2 swords, you can do nothing against my magic!"

The viscount launched another spell and grinned, thinking of having won. But to his horror, his opponent used Derf and the second blade to deflect the lightnings at high speed instead of absorbing them.

"S-Stay away from me!"

"This is the end! Take this!"

Arrived right in front of Jacques, the Gandalf used his blades to slash him, forming an X cut. Blood erupted out of the viscount's chest and he spat it out too, falling on the ground backwards while Louise was mouth agape.

"H-how can this be? M-me… Losing to a puny commoner?"

"Idiot, I train every single day to get stronger in order to protect my beloved ones. Now, tell me why you betrayed us.", he ordered him, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt.

"Hahaha…I-I'm about to die, so I won't tell you all. J-just know that the prince has few hours left to live because C-Cromwell and Reconquista will kill him very soon."

"W-what?! R-Reconquista you said?"

"You bastard, so you worked with them. Tell me who else is part of that conspiracy!"

"It's useless, my blood loss will bring me to death. You may have got rid of m-me, but I won in t-the end…"

The traitor exhaled his last breath before closing his eyes, dying right after his last words. Saito let go of the body and stood up, holding his weapons tighter out of anger.

"Are you ok? Are you wounded?", asked him his girlfriend, hugging him.

"My clothes just got ruined by his spells, but forget it. We have to reach Albion immediately."

"W-what are we going to do about…", she asked him, looking at the dead body.

"He tried to kill me and wanted to kidnap you, so I don't care about giving him a proper burial. Let's hurry!"

Understanding his rage, she nodded and quickly put on her clothes on while he put away the tent and hopped on their horse with her to run towards Albion. The fight against Jean left him a little tired, but he didn't care because Wales' life was in danger.

Some hours later, the two of them finally reached the reign of Albion, whose city was somehow big just like Tristania. At the gates of the city, the warrior and Louise presented themselves to the guards and said that they were on a mission under Henrietta's order, getting accompanied towards the castle then.

The blackhaired boy didn't care about admring the city because his eyes were focused on his surroundings to see if there were some suspicious people. Jacques said that Cromwell and other people were about to kill the prince, so he and the pinkette were being careful as much as they could.

The walk to the castle didn't take too much, so they arrived there and entered inside by being always accompanied by a guard. Finally, the two of them arrived to the throne's room, finding a handsome blonde young man with royal clothes sitting on the throne.

"Welcome, Miss Vallière, Mrs Hiraga. You two must be the ones that I was told about by my guards.", he told them with a friendly smile.

"It's a honor to have the chance of meeting you, prince Wales. I'm Louise Françoise De la Vallière.", said the pinkette, bowing out of respect.

"I'm Saito Hiraga, your Highness. I'm Louise's familiar."

"A human person as familiar? That's interesting and I can see how affectionate you are to her. But weren't you supposed to be in 3 people?"

That question caused the couple to grimace, so the lovely pinkhead stood up and told him about Jean's betrayal and how he tried to kill her Saito, causing the prince's eyes to widen.

"U-unbelievable…To think that a noble like him could do something like that…"

"It's not only that, your Highness. A guy called Cromwell and Reconquista will try to murder you, so-"

Louise's words got cut off by the window's breaking sound, from which a fast magical arrow entered inside. Before he could even do something, that arrow pierced Wales' neck and blood came out of it, with the couple gasping in horror.

"Your Highness!", she exclaimed, going to him with tears forming in her eyes.

Gritting his teeth, her boyfriend looked outside and saw a hooded figure standing upon a building and holding a bow. That figure grinned and disappeared instantly, not giving him the chance to pursuit him.

"Damn it, he ran away!", he exclaimed before switching his attention to the prince.

"I-I suspected that someone could try to kill me, but n-not like this. If y-you can do me this favor, please tell Henrietta that I love…her."

The mortal wound on the neck took away his last breath of life, so Louise was more horrified and released a very loud scream, so powerful to make the guards bust in the room and gasp in terror at the scene. Even if he killed somebody hours ago, the Gandalf was the most horrified one because he didn't manage to save the prince. He failed.

His eyes began to water and he hugged Louise, who cried on his chest while he struggled to comfort her. But in the end, he released a painful scream of sorrow, angry with himself for what happened. He could save his girlfriend, but not Henrietta's fiance, so the anger and the sadness for such failure were unbearable for both of them.

And the 14th chapter is here! Well, it looks like Albion is in danger to because of Reconquista, and despite going on a mission to find other clues and protect Wales, Saito and his beloved couldn't save the young prince.

In the anime it was Jean to kill the prince when Saito saved Louise from being married to the bastard, but I decided to go for a different outcome. The use of a second sword is to show that the Gandalf wants also to evolve his fighting skills, which are a further step to get stronger.

Unfortunately, his and the pinkette's efforts were in vain, so now both of them are preys of an insufferable sorrow. How will they tell what happened to the princess? What's going to happen after this murder? Stay tuned to find out.
