The Saiyan Gamer
The solution to the food problem was simpler than expected.
Just like with the water, we just needed to get it before Tuffle's could interfere. The next day, under the cloak of her invisibility spell, we traveled in the direction that the food deliveries were coming from and met them far enough away that the Tuffles couldn't get us. When we brought back several trucks worth of food, my reputation with the rest of the soldiers, whether they still trusted Nappa or not, skyrocketed.
My reputation with Nappa, however…
"I heard you've been snooping around the Tuffle base."
The day was well underway, the sky still smoking with the debris from that day's air raid. Nappa had come to the soldier's quarters to find me personally, and to my surprise, he was sober and giving me his full attention. Based on the scowl on his face, it wasn't positive attention.
"I have," I said simply, finding no reason to lie. His scowl deepened and the men behind him matched his sentiment.
"And why is that?" He questioned me further.
"I was looking for a weakness in their defense. A possible way to get in," I said.
"Under who's command?!" He raised his voice, and I narrowed my eyes in response. "I am your commander and you do as I say!"
"I was under the impression that we were trying to win a war. We can't win a war by sitting back and doing nothing," I took a step towards him as I spoke, not backing down an inch.
He followed suit, stepping closer to me with his fists clenched. With the height difference, I had to crane my head up to look him in the eyes. With a scowl, he threatened, saying, "You will do nothing else unless I command it, do I make myself clear?"
I stared at him for a few seconds, running through the best way to answer that question. Eventually, I settled on a, "Yes commander."
He smirked, satisfied with his victory, before turning and retreating to his building. I waited until they were out of my sight before turning back to the soldier's quarters. Several of the soldiers came out, Kizoku and Root being among the first.
"You can't be seriously thinking about listening to that idiot, right?" Root glared at me.
"Oh, of course not," I replied swiftly, before watching relief wash over them. "Whatever he has planned, if he has any plan at all, isn't a good one. If it wasn't for me, more of you would have died from starvation by now, and you'd all still be infected."
Fighting him right there and then wouldn't have been ideal. If I won, it would solidify my place above everyone else here, but if I lost, my reputation would plummet with the soldiers. I could probably win, but if there was a way to avoid the fight for now, I would take it. The war was only just beginning, we needed all the strong warriors that we could find.
"So what's the plan?" Kizoku asked me. All eyes were on me, and I looked around the small group. There were about 10 of us, but I knew that there were more who had lost faith in Nappa and were looking for an alternative.
"Kizoku, gather anyone else that you think will follow me and meet me at the building over there," I pointed at a building a few blocks away. "Be discreet. I don't want word to get back to Nappa."
He nodded his head and went back into the building, as we made our way to the meeting spot. It didn't take long before a group of about 50 of us were spread out in a room. They all looked to me for their next move, and I didn't plan on disappointing them.
Taking a step to my left, I revealed the bound Tuffle soldier that Zaria and I had kidnapped. His eyes were wide and frantic as he looked at the group of soldiers, who now glared at him with contempt. He was about middle-aged, but he blubbered like a newborn.
"So… Are you ready to talk?"
The night air chilled me to the bone, which only made the heat rising in my chest all the more intense. As I approached the Tuffle base, both excitement and nerves ran rampant all across my body, but I steeled them. I needed all of my focus to fulfill this mission.
To the left of me, Zaria silently followed with magical energy swirling around us. She was keeping us invisible, which was arguably one of the only reasons that this mission could work. To my right, Root and Kizoku stared forward with determination. Both wore Tuffle armor which fit comfortably on their bodies. Kizoku had beads of sweat rolling down his head, and I didn't blame him. We were heading into the heart of the beast.
Rue, although he'd improved by over four times, was still far too weak to join us here. I left him back, with instructions to leave if the battle went south.
'Is everyone ready?' I spoke to the group through our mental link, via Zaria. They all nodded their head, and we all turned back to face the base.
Zaria reached out to touch me, and a second later, we were on the other side of the barrier, inside the Tuffle base. We watched as both Root and Kizoku carefully stepped through the barrier. I pointed at two separate buildings while saying to Kizoku and Root, 'You know what to do.'
'I'll be ready for the signal,' Root said, before flying off in the direction of one of the buildings. Kizoku stayed behind for a few seconds, a look of uncertainty on his face.
'Remember what I told you,' I reassured him. 'It may be slow, but it's four times as powerful. Gather as much energy as you can and just let it go.'
He looked to be contemplating it for a few seconds, before nodding his head and looking up at me. 'Alright. See you on the other side.'
He flew off in the direction of the other building, and we wasted no time. Zaria and I flew directly to another building, which was smaller than the rest. They had two Tuffle guarding it, but they went down quickly with Zaria putting them to sleep. I gently placed them down to not generate sound, while simultaneously sucking their armor into my inventory. I followed that up by putting one of the armor sets on Zaria to keep her safe. We then entered the building silently.
Zaria's idea to bring the Tuffle back to the base was resourceful. It didn't take very long before he was telling us everything he knew about the base. I devised this plan based on the information that he gave me.
The Tuffles had three advantages in this skirmish. The fact that we couldn't bypass their forcefield, the virus that they infected us with, and their armor. Without them, they were sitting ducks, and I was about to strip it from them entirely.
In front of me, a strange contraption stood. It was about half my height and had very light energy the color of rainbows streaming out of its top. I followed the light up, as it went through the roof and continued holding the forcefield up. I got the hint when the description of the forcefield mentioned a mobile forcefield generator, but the soldier that we captured let me know exactly where it was.
Mobile Forcefield Generator
HP: 100
This mobile forcefield was invented by Dr Lychee in preparation for this war. It is a miniature version of the giant forcefield that protects the Tuffle territories.
I smirked as I looked down at it. It looked so small and weak, yet the power that it generated was incredible. If I focused all of my stat points into intelligence, maybe one day I would be able to recreate something like this. I doubted I'd go that route, but…
I placed my hand out in front of me, and in the blink of an eye, the generator flickered out of existence and into my inventory. It was a powerful thing, but in the end, it was just an object. With this, the forcefield would vanish, allowing for the other 50 Saiyans to come in. But first…
I clapped my hands as loud as I could, generating a shockwave that I was sure could be heard for miles. And then...
A massive explosion rocked the world around us. Bright multicolored lights flashed into the room as cracks formed in the walls. I smirked, sure that a blast with that much destructive power completed what it set out to do. The armory was destroyed under the combined strength of Root and Kizoku.
"Let's go," I said aloud to Zaria as I rushed to the door. She followed swiftly, dropping the invisibility on us as she did. Sirens blared around us as red dots began to litter my mini-map.
The first Tuffle I saw was rushing out of their quarters, eyes wide in shock and horror. He was without his armor, small and weak. He moved as if he was in slow motion, the only thing managing to get a glimpse of me being his eyes. I didn't stop running even as my hand carved through his chest and out of his back.
I entered the room that he'd just exited, passing through several Tuffle soldiers as I did. I took out the ones who were still getting out of bed, snuffing them out before they could make a counterattack. I looked over at Zaria, who was doing the same. Without their armor, they were barely a threat.
"What's going on?!" A scream was let out at the corner of the room, and I sped over to it immediately. There must have been a few still awake because a few armored soldiers were scrambling for guns. I robbed them of their chance, activating [Lightweight] to get to the guns before they could. I sucked them into my inventory, before turning back to face them.
They were already upon me, having transformed the metal on their arms into blades. I dodged the first and second slash, before kicking one of them into the wall and blocking a third sword. They were quick, but compared to Blerry, they were nothing.
A blade slipped through my shoulder as I dipped to the side. I shifted my entire body down sharply, snapping the blade off, before turning and shoving my sword through his body. Placing my foot on his chest, I kicked him off of my sword and into the soldier who was coming at me next.
A blast of ki staggered him, giving me enough time to pierce them too. I didn't need to turn to know that Zaria was backing me up. The remaining two soldiers, now torn between the two of us, were quickly dispatched in their confusion.
We left the building in time to hear the roar of Saiyans rushing into battle and the scream of Tuffle in panic. The few ships that they had left were being swarmed by groups of our warriors. A small weight was lifted off of my shoulders, but I couldn't fully relax yet. Not until their leader was dead.
It didn't take me long to find him amid the Tuffle crowd. They seemed to have a habit of giving their superiors fancier armor.
Level 12
General
Pule
Species - Tuffle
Gender - Male
Age - 45
Pule is a general of the Tuffle army, but one with very little experience. He managed to become a general by chance at the tail end of the last war and hopes that he can cruise through this war without losing most of his soldiers. He isn't trained well in hand-to-hand combat.
He has no idea who you are currently.
He is terrified, unsure how Saiyans got through his defenses.
Power Level - 1000
"You're not nearly as strong as I thought you'd be," I shouted over the noise as I floated down a few yards ahead of him. The soldiers around us were too busy in their scuffles to notice me, and the ones that did were quickly killed by Zaria. She was invisible as she moved. "I guess that's why you took such a cowardly tactic!"
"Who are you?!" He didn't hesitate to transform his arm into a cannon just like Blerry could. His cannons were much smaller, but I wasn't taking any risks. I dodged the first wave of energy, flipping over the second and landing to his right.
He didn't warrant any more conversation. A [Meteor Fist] cracked against his stomach, sending him skidding back and through a nearby building. I pursued him, effortlessly ducking his sword and hitting him with an elbow. I followed up with a knee to his stomach.
As I watched him sputter for breath, excitement, for the first time in too long, rushed through my body. Yes, fighting was fun, but winning was better.
POV Change
"What the fuck is going on?!"
Nappa's voice boomed through the destroyed village. A giant explosion woke him from his sleep, and he could hear the sound of battle raging. He broke through the door of his building, to find several of his soldiers looking in confusion out towards where the Tuffle camp was.
Flashing lights illuminated the sky, and for a moment he wondered if he was dreaming. That couldn't be his soldiers out there, could it? Not all of them. He could see several of the brats watching the battle from afar.
"That troublesome brat led an attack on the Tuffles!" One of Nappa's guards told him. A vein almost popped in Nappa's head, before he blasted off in the direction of the battle.
By the time he got there, the battle was already over and the celebration began. To his surprise, barely any Saiyan bodies littered the ground. How was this possible? How the hell could they have beaten these Tuffles?
The answer stood in front of him.
The troublesome Saiyan that had appeared a few days prior was standing alone, in the middle of a small crater. He panted ever so slightly, looking down at the head of the Tuffle's leader in his hand. Steam lifted off of him as the blood on his body evaporated. Nappa's eyes narrowed when he noticed that the boy's once-black hair was now stark white.
'That's the kid that released me from the Juggernaut. Sprout Aka…' Nappa realized as he watched the boy slowly turn to face him. For a second he was grateful until he saw the faces of the soldiers around him. They were looking at Nappa with disdain, and looking to Sprout with reverence. He couldn't allow that.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?!"
Nappa's voice bellowed, causing much of the celebration to come to a halt. His face was twisted into a scowl as his eyes darted around at the destruction around us. I threw Pule's head down at Nappa's feet, as my eyes met his.
"What you were too afraid to," I said, before motioning all around me. "While you were sitting, drinking, and waiting, I stepped up in your place. Cowards like you shouldn't be leading anyone."
My air was tense between us, as he stared me down. There was only one way for this to end, we both knew that. My fist clenched at my sides, but I wouldn't make the first move. At the corner of my eye, I could see Zaria moving towards us, but with one glare, she stopped. This was my fight. Bardock's words spiraled into my mind, consuming me. 'You've only survived because of the people around you. You've just been lucky until now'.
'I'll prove you wrong, old man.'
He didn't bother retorting, likely because there was nothing he could say. He fell into a very unrefined fighting style, as his Ki surrounded him and his eyes narrowed. I followed suit, letting the fatigue that'd felt wash away due to [Full Restore]. Nappa didn't even seem to notice, completely blinded by his anger.
We were about the same strength, but he was much taller than me, so he had a slight advantage. I waited to see if his Ki would wrap around his arms or do anything special, but nothing happened. For someone of his power level, I figured that he might have a trick up his sleeve like everyone else I'd fought up until now. Apparently not.
A crowd of soldiers began to form around us, curious eyes peaking in to see the inevitable clash. Root came out of the crowd, stopping at the border and catching my eye. He gave me a short nod, and I returned it, before turning back to my opponent.
"Here it comes!" Nappa yelled, before charging.
His fists were huge, easily the size of my head. He was fast for his size, but I suppose size didn't matter much when Ki was involved anyway. I dodged a few of his wild swings, waiting for a slip in his defense, and it came far too quickly.
I slipped underneath one of his punches, focusing Ki around my legs and using the floor as a springboard to kick him hard in the stomach. He gritted his teeth and grabbed my arm in a tight grip. He lifted me off of the ground, and for a second I felt weightless before I was slammed into the ground at his side. He managed to slam me again before I managed to swing my heel back and catch him in the side of the head.
His grip loosened enough for me to pull my leg free, and I immediately flew upside down so that I was face-to-face with him. My open palms came together at either side of his head, slamming into his ears and temporarily deafening him. His eyes widened in pain and he yelled, a ki blast following it, similar to my own.
I threw my hands up and let the ki blast push me back several feet, before pouring energy into my fingertips and tearing it apart. Strands of ki flew into the ground and the air, his attack rendered useless. I could hear the crowd murmuring, but I didn't dare to take my eyes off of my opponent.
Blood streamed from both of his ears and despite the confusion I could see in his eyes, it was eclipsed by rage. Veins bulged from his skull as he bared his teeth fully. He launched myself at me again like an animal on the loose, but I no longer had many worries about this fight.
Kizoku was right. This guy only made it this far because of his connection to War Chief Vegeta. I realized myself as I continued to dodge his attacks. He has the same power level as me but has no idea how to use it.
I dodged another of his strikes, my sword appearing in my hand as I did. I ducked under a second strike, before spinning and cutting a sizeable chunk out of his Achilles heel. He gasped in pain, falling to one knee. On the way down, he brought his head down to headbut me, but I met him with my elbow.
"Y-You… You brat!" He screamed. Energy pooled at his mouth as he prepared to launch another one of his mouth blasts. I centered as much Ki as I could into my right hand and pushed his growing attack right back into his mouth, adding some of my own for good measure. The resulting explosion sent him through the crowd and completely out of the Tuffle camp.
My hand burned, even despite all of the Ki that I'd poured into it, but it didn't matter. I'd win this fight and heal right after anyway. As for him, however… I flew over to where he landed, just in time to see him standing up. The crowd followed.
Nappa's entire jaw was left dislocated and potentially broken by my counterattack. His eyes were wide with a new emotion, and I grinned down at him before landing.
"Had enough?" I asked, brandishing my sword in front of me in the style that Omato taught me.
"That's not fair! You have a sword!" He yelled, his voice slurred due to his broken jaw.
"Hardly an excuse for a commander to lose in a fight against a civilian," I taunted him, watching his anger grow. "Now come on, are you going to fight me or not? I got a better workout from the Tuffles."
He looked around at the crowd frantically, noticing the crowd's opinion of him shattering like glass. A lot of the soldiers who refused to join me before were now looking to me with a new mindset. When he turned back to me, there was a crazed look on his face. It was ever so slight, but I could see his Ki begin to flow into the ground beneath us in a thin layer.
"Let's see how you like this, brat!" He pointed two of his fingers at me, and in the blink of an eye, the layer spread in a radius of about a mile, covering all of the crowd. Cracks began to form in the ground, and I realized what he was planning on doing. He was going to blow up the entire area around us. Either he didn't have the control to focus it all on me, or he just didn't care about his soldiers.
"Don't you dare!" I changed the grip on my sword and reared my arm back, before throwing the sword as hard as I could at Nappa's chest. I didn't want to kill him, especially as he was friends with someone as powerful as War Chief Vegeta, but he was about to hurt my friends and that was unforgivable.
"That's enough, Nappa."
A figure was suddenly standing in front of Nappa, my sword caught effortlessly in his hand; mere centimeters away from Nappa's heart. He had long, spikey black hair that stuck straight up like grass. A long red cape flowed behind his back, and when he turned to face me, I noticed the symbol for the Sansei clan on his breastplate.

Oh shit…
"V-Vegeta!" Nappa stumbled over his words, immediately falling into a kneel. "I-"
Before he could finish his sentence, the back of Vegeta's fist slammed into his cheek, sending him directly into the ground so hard that he bounced. The hit echoed across the battlefield, and the remainder of Nappa's jaw was grounded into dust. A gurgled scream leapt from his throat, as he felt where his jaw used to be.
"I am disappointed, Nappa," He spoke for the first time, his voice a deep baritone. "When my spies told me that you were whoring yourself away and allowing the Tuffles to attack you, I couldn't believe my ears. I had to see for myself."
He knelt down and with a gloved hand, he gripped the top of Nappa's bald head, forcing him to look into his eyes. His free hand ripped off a badge on Nappa's shoulder, and with venom, he asked, "You weren't banking on me coming to save you, were you?"
Nappa's eyes said it all. He tried to respond, but his tongue flapped helplessly. Vegeta scoffed, before releasing Nappa's head and standing up. Slowly, his gaze turned and his eyes met mine.
Shit, shit shit shit! My throat was dry, and my hands alternated between a fist and an open palm. Was he furious at me too? Could I win this fight?
"Sprout Aka, isn't it?" He raised his eyebrows at me, making my heart skip a beat. How did he know? From the corner of my eye, I could see that the hair dye that I'd bought had burned right out of my hair.
"Yes," I replied honestly, not daring to break eye contact. "And you are War Chief Vegeta."
"That, I am," He nodded his head. "I was told that Bardock had you forbidden from joining the front lines."
"Bardock doesn't tell me what to do. His reasons weren't valid, so I chose to ignore them," I said, unable to avoid the annoyance in my voice. For a second, I wondered if he would take offense to this, due to Bardock being his friend, but instead, he smirked ever so slightly.
"Good. Bardock has always allowed his emotions to guide him in every decision that he makes, whether that be for the better or worse," He noted, and I couldn't help but agree. "But, this isn't the time or place to discuss such matters. I see your soldiers are injured and in need of rest. Come to Vegeta City in a month to the date. We have much to discuss."
A sigh of relief left my body, only for me to freeze. "Wait, my soldiers?"
He began to float away, but not before tossing the badge that he'd ripped off of Nappa's shoulder down at me. I caught it, becoming momentarily entranced in the red metal that was shaped into a capital 'C'.
"I expect much of you, Commander Sprout."
Enjoy!
