In the World just beyond the realm of Ethiopia laid a realm similar to its own but far different than Ethiopia. A Realm where humanity reigned supreme over the ages. Where Magic was almost nonexistent. The Animals relied on natural instinct and were far less than the ones in Ethiopia.

The Realm known as Earth was not nearly as vast as Ethiopia. Most of the world was already well known and vastly populated. There was almost no where left that was in need to be discovered only within the Earth itself or outside its skies.

Humanity there was scattered into varies populations that had their own bit of land. A piece of a continent that was called their own. Unlike those that just united in Ethiopia most the civilizations of the world barely got along. Some may have united in an alliance, but nothing could ever be truly agreed upon. Those that held titles and seats of power hardly ever took care of their own peoples and thought of themselves. They believed they had their countries best interests at heart, but they only cared about their own gains at the expense of those under them.

Many were delusional as those that followed their leaders believed in them despite hardships and difficult times. Propaganda dominated most of the world and many would follow it and those that were of good nature were hardly ever noticed as most focused on the bad or would follow one's words even if it was clear they too had some kind dark pasts or were tied in with someone of equally terrible quality.

It was a difficult world to live in as many would try to snuff out a living. Some managing to succeed but half the time at a cost that could never be regained. Families were not always close. Some would marry only to have either their loved ones leave them for someone else or would cut their marriage due to hardships or simple disagreements. Happiness was always to be for a great deal of folk no matter where they lived in the world.

There may have been some that would have managed to live out a happy live but for many others they were not fortunate. Due to the status of the world and the ones that led their countries and people there were people that could never find a light or a beacon of hope in a world that seemed to be against them. It was every man for himself in a world where it seemed a darkness was festering in it like a wound that was allowed to become infected to allow it to spread about till it consumed the body completely.

With the world of Earth trapped in its own infection there was little hope for those that tried to grasp onto a single bit of it and have a bit of hope that somehow things would get better or at least give them something to believe in or look forward to.

However, for many that hope usually fell on poor faith. There was almost nothing that could make things right. Sometimes it would lead to those making bad choices that would cause them even more hardship. But with their minds set on committing wrong doings believing it's the only way to get anywhere in the world there was nothing more that could prevent them from becoming something that would lead them down a true path of misery and even beyond it.

The Innocent of the world always seemed to be the ones that suffered the most. Pure hearts would eventually become stained by the cold and cruel reality that was the world around them. Even if they tried their hardest to maintain their innocence the difficult times they lived in along with the apparent way of the world around them would shatter their believes and rip out the pureness that made up their hearts.

No matter how the innocent lived their lives. No matter what big or little of their successes something would always come around and destroy their achievements or shatter their own world. One incident or simply one misdeed to them could bring down everything they worked for or desired to achieve.

Some would wait for a miracle to happen but just as the term is a miracle would never happen at all. Nothing in the world could make anyone feel a true sense of happiness. There were moments when it did happen only for something to get in the way of it that would be a very long time before something like that would happen again.

Such feelings were felt by a countless amount of people all across the world. Even if they lived in countries that were well known for their prosperous ways or even little bits of crime something always happened that would make those living in a supposed paradise feel like they lived a gloomy land where nothing ever seemed to be right.

In a Land known as Great Britain in the capital of it known as London lived a little boy who shared the same troubling dealings and status of the world around him.

His name was Jacob Owensworth. Eight years of age and was once filled with joy and happiness as a child should be. From the day the day he was born he was the shining little light of his parents. Shortly after he was born a mysterious necklace was left to him in the tiny crib he laid in back in the hospital. His parents didn't know what it was but assumed it was a gift for their child and, Jacob had worn that necklace ever since he was born.

During the first few years of his life everything seemed to be the best as they were. His Mother and Father always spent a lot of time with him. There was never a moment when he would not see either of them and it was the better when they were together.

His Parents worked for the local Police Department. They already were high in ranks as one of them handled supervising dispatch and the other worked out in the city itself handling any disturbance that was in need of checking out or someone who needed to be arrested for a crime they committed.

Every time they were off duty they spent every moment with their beloved son. They had their family outings and trips. From enjoying a nice film together to having good meals everything seemed to be perfect for the great family they were.

Jacob's parents were the best parents that a boy like him could ever know. His Mother always made sure he was well-mannered and dressed appropriately as his father would teach him so much from riding a bicycle to even building up a tiny birdhouse to hang outside their home which was just on the outskirts of London. With the city on one side of the road and the open country side with a forest on the other everything was perfect for a great family.

As the young boy grew up he was quite happy. He had short blond hair and was a bit skinny he ate his meals no matter what it was as a good child should. He could eat anything, but he was always so full of energy and enjoyed playing outside a lot that he never gained more than a pound or two as he continuing to grow healthy and happy.

When his Father taught him how to ride a bicycle there was hardly a moment when he was in the house. He would take that bike to school and back every day. He would do laps around the suburbs and race down hills. Sometimes his Father and Mother would be there with him on their owns bikes as they would take a day out and enjoy the beauty of the countryside and the cycle walkways around the city itself.

Times were good for Jacob and he would wish they would never end. He always did his very best in school keeping his grades up and staying out of trouble like a good boy. He would come close to making a few friends. He would play in the playground with a select few of his fellow students and enjoy playing a game or racing across the playground going up and down the obstacles and little slides.

Everything in his life seemed to be perfect until one fateful day changed it all. It was on a day on an extremely rare occasion when his parents were not home. He was only six at the time when it happened. He had just arrived home on his bicycle and quickly turned on his TV in the living room. Today was the day when his Mother was going to become the Chief of Police. She would run the whole Police Department itself. Her Responsibility for the city would increase tenfold but to have such a status was a high honor and her methods would certainly boost up the department to increase activity across the city and keep crime at a low.

However just when she sworn herself in with her husband by her side at the front of the court house where a small crowd had gathered along with many city officials something happened a day no one would soon forget.

A Gang came crashing through much of the crowd bringing out fire arms and began to shoot at officials and civilians. It was complete chaos as the security there was taken completely by surprise no one could counter the attack and they just made to the stage where one hooded figure took aim at, Jacobs mother but his father got in the way taking the shot right into him as his, Mother grabbed her fire arm and returned fire and throughout the chaos she managed to coordinate efforts which resulted in most of the gang being killed and a few of them arrested.

But the Chaos at the ceremony was terrible. Many innocent people had died including some of the officials even the mayor was killed but the worst death that effected, Jacob and his mother the most was his father who died saving the life of the woman he loved.

Grief stricken Jacob stayed in his room for a great deal of time and his mother did what she could to comfort him though her heart was just as affected. The reason discovered why that gang attacked the ceremony was to inspire anarchy. Many hated the government officials that kept criminals at bay and with the deaths of mayor and many officials and with the attack proving how vulnerable the city is it inspired a crime spree that spread throughout the city.

Within only a matter of a month crime was so high that no one felt safe anywhere not even in their own homes. From Burglaries to robbery and even crimes that involved taking life were extremely high. As the new Police Chief, Jacob's mother took matters in her own hands. Using all the resources at her disposal like at the ceremony she coordinated every effort to counter the crime spree. She used promotional propaganda to inspire many to join the police force to stand against those that prayed on the innocent.

It took many months of arrests and investigations to finally find those that were responsible for the very attack that took away the man she loved. She had given justice to him as well as the countless others. But things were never the same since the attack on the ceremony.

Due to the crime spree, Jacob's mother was always away. She also enforced a great new set of rules in the house. Jacob could no longer ride his bike to school or even anywhere else. She could not take any risks of her son becoming another victim in the streets.

At first, Jacob understood it. The Streets were no longer safe for anyone traveling alone on them. So, he ended up taking a bus to school and back but even the school became strict. No one was allowed to go outside for recess with such crime going about.

For months on end life was nothing but strictness. And without his, Father, Jacob would sometimes be in his room and weep for the father that meant so much to him. His Mother on the other hand hardly ever was home and when she was she would only have time to make a meal for her son, but she would always be on a phone call with someone informing her about the latest or with a laptop computer logging in reports.

His Mother had changed and for the worst. For so long she barely spoke a word to her son since the ceremony attack only just managing to craft a meal if not burning it due to lack of attention from having to focus so much on her job. Her new rules on the house prevented, Jacob from even going outside to play. He hardly ever even got to go out in the back yard. Even though their home was just outside the suburbs and in sight of the city his, Mother could not risk anything. She already had lost her loving husband she would not lose her son too.

Installing the latest of home security in her house including cameras at all entrances and around certain areas of the house there was nothing that could step foot within without her knowing it. Jacob however hated all the security. It was almost a chore just to get through the door from having to use passwords and keys to get inside and abiding by all the rules his mother had set for him.

Even the crime spree finally had ended thanks to the efforts of his mother and all those in the Police Department nothing ever settled down with his mother. Due to the tragedies of the past, she had vowed never to let it happen again. Enforcing the law across the city constantly bringing new recruits to the force. Keeping close tabs on those that records stated were a troublesome sort and breaking down any potential gang that could become like the one that attacked the ceremony.

Day after day it was the same for Jacob. He would go to school and do his best in it, but he remained distant from those he was once close with. Having lost his father made him rather anti-social and unfortunately it was his mother too that made him feel distant from others.

Despite being the hero that ended the notorious rise in crime his Mother hardly ever had time to do anything with him anymore. They used to go out and see the city or cycle through the suburbs and country but her protectiveness over her child made her believe the safest place for him to be was home.

Even when they had meals together there was no laughter. No friendly chat. She would nod and smile though it seemed fake while she was busy making another report or trying to talk to someone over her cell phone while keeping a conversation with her child.

Jacob always tried to lighten up her mood by asking if she would play a game with him or watch a television show or movie, but she would always say no or don't have the time for them. She would not even tuck him in bed, and it would be fortunate if she remembered to say good night and I love you before shutting the door when it was his bed time.

Two years have passed since the ceremony attack and nothing had ever truly changed. Jacob was on his way back from school with some hope in him as his mother had told him that she would be home early today, and they would watch a series that was a favorite of his together. He couldn't wait for the bus to make it to his home and he could finally after months spend some quality time with his mother.

Many times, she would promise to be home after he came home from school and they would do something together. He wanted nothing more than just to simply have his mother home and for them to be like the family they used to be.

The Bus finally had made him, and he dashed for the front door and eagerly typed in the password and inserted his housekey to unlock the door. But as soon as he was inside he found the house was empty. No one was inside. It was odd but not surprising when he locked up the door and saw a note on the table with yet another apology from his mother saying an emergency had come up and she had to see it taken care of and returned to work.

With another disappointment that the day he had planned with his mother was at a ruin he put his backpack away and slumped to the living room. Not bothering to turn the Tv channel onto the series his mother and him were going to watch together.

He sat there depressed as it seemed life could not get any much worse. He loved his mother and understood she had a big job, but he wished things could be different. It had been so long since he lost his father she couldn't by now at least take some time off so they could be what they used to be before then even if it was just for a little while?

Jacob couldn't understand it as he flipped the tv channel on the local news even though he hated it. The Reporter on it went on the latest breaking news. He believed it would be yet another criminal being caught for a robbery or some other misdeed but instead the reporter talked about mysterious sightings that were happening not just around London but the world in general.

Some Reports stating a galleon was sailing in Caribbean looting ships. Another report stated an octopus like creature was seen on the coastline. And there were many other reports of similar sightings and talks of beings that were terrorizing or people were disappearing by the dozens.

Normally Jacob wouldn't care less but something about the reports were both curious and rather frightening. It was at this moment he wished his mother was around more and not paying attention to the necklace he wore on his neck began to glow slightly and faded away before he could realize that what he wore around his neck would something that would help him in the days ahead.
