7#False Alarm.

Tyler sat in the front passenger-seat of Terrance's red Ferrari F40 car, with Terrance driving the vehicle through the suburban neighborhood, as well as both of them having their seat-belts on. After getting a call at work from nurse Fritz about the episode that had occurred with Tyler concerning Evan, he hopped in his car, drove over to the school, picked Tyler up, and headed home. He would then call his job, explain the situation, and request to be off for the rest of the day.

"This stinks. This really stinks, you know. Why are you taking me to see a shrink anyway?" Tyler said.

"Oh, i don't know. Maybe after going into shock at the nurse's station and raving about seeing your dead best friend might've had something to do with it." Terrance said.

"You know, i've never been to therapy a day in my life. Not once. Not even last year when Evan...died." Tyler said.

"Ty...i'm sorry. The nurse said therapy tomorrow and that's exactly what it's gonna be." Terrance said. Nurse Fritz had suggested to Terrance that Tyler see a shrink tomorrow to help him deal with his guilt over his best friend's death, which Terrance had accepted. To be perfectly honest, it was long over-due.

"You and Mom think i'm crazy, don't you?" Tyler said.

"We just don't want you to-"

"Well, i'm not, you know, i saw what i saw." Tyler said, cutting Terrance off.

"I know you think you did. But i also believe the nurse when she said that you should be in therapy." Terrance said while Tyler was looking out the window and saw the back of Evan running down the street as the car drove past him.

"Stop the car!" Tyler shouted.

Terrance slammed his right foot on the breaks, bringing the car to a screeching halt.

"I-i just saw Evan running down the street we just passed." Tyler said as he looked at Terrance.

Terrance just rolled his eyes.

"Dad, please, this'll prove i'm not crazy." Tyler said.

Terrance then backed the car up, turned around, and headed back towards the street he and Tyler had just passed. When they reached the street, Terrance turned and drove into it, and Tyler could see Evan running up ahead.

"That's him." Tyler said.

Evan stopped in his tracks and the car came to another screeching halt.

Tyler removed his seat-belt, opened the front passenger-door, and rushed out of the car, hurrying towards Evan. But when he ran up to him and turned him around to face him, he saw that it was a completely different boy. Same age as Evan and same features, clothes and shoes, sure, but...not Evan. It had been a false alarm.

Terrance placed his right hand over his face and just shook his head.

The boy Tyler had mistaken for Evan turned and resumed running down the street.

"Sorry!" Tyler shouted.

"That's it. Therapy for you, pal. Today." Terrance said.

"Didn't-didn't you just think for just a second that was Evan?" Tyler asked.

"No, Ty." Terrance said.

"You didn't?" Tyler said.

"Tyler...Eddie's dead." Terrance said, getting Evan's name wrong once again. "Let's get going."

With nothing else to go on, Tyler gave up and headed back for the car.
