"Last time after taking a break on the path to Vermillion City. Logan stops to do some training with Sandy when he encounters a Goldeen who was abandoned by its trainer for being. After taking in the Golden and eating their meal. Logan, Elanie, Pearl, and River finally arrive in Vermillion City," The narrator said as Logan and the gang come across a sign reading Vermillion City.

"We finally made it to Vermillion City after getting off-tracked," Elaine said.

"Yeah but at least Logan got some new Pokemon out of it," Pearl commented.

"That's true it wasn't a complete loss," Logan said.

"Still off-track how do you think Ash and Misty are doing?" River questioned.

"Knowing my cousin's bad sense of direction especially since he probably didn't pick up a map at any of the Pokemon Centers he might take another day possibly longer," Elaine said with a chuckle.

"Eevee," Eevee said in agreement.

"That's why I'm glad my family made sure I had a map," Logan said looking at his Pokenav."Let's stop at the Pokemon Center first, and then stock up on medication in the Pokemart before the gym," He said picking up Ruby who looked tired.

"Excellent idea all this traveling must have these two worn out," River stated looking at both Ruby and Eevee.

"I agree it has been a while since the last Pokemon Center we visited," Pearl said in agreement.

"Don't worry Ruby I get you treated at the Pokemon Center before we take on the Vermillion City gym," Logan said looking at Ruby in his arms."Through I was thinking of going with Samdy to this gym."

Logan, Elaine, Pearl, and River arrived at the Pokemon Center.

"Can you please take care of her," Logan said holding out Ruby towards Nurse Joy as his other Pokeballs except for one were on the tray.

"Ah, you both must be from Kalso," Nurse Joy said taking Ruby."We get Litleo here all taken care of."

"Thank you," Logan said."You be alright Ruby I need to make a quick call," He said and was about to walk off when he noticed a boy rush inside the Pokemon Center with an injured Paras.

"That Paras in rough shape," River commented."Wonder what happened."

"That's the thirteen one this month," Nurse Joy said.

"What happened?" Elaine asked.

"They all lost to Lt.Surge the Vermillion City gym leader," Nurse Joy said.

"So the gym leader tough," Logan commented seeing the condition that Paras was in."I will be right back," He said walking off.

Logan was on the video phone as he dialed Professor Oak's lab.

"Hello Logan weren't you with Ash?" Professor Oak asked."He mentioned at Bill's lighthouse you were traveling with him."

"I was but we ended up going ahead to Vermillion City," He replied.

Ah, I see so you made it to Vermillion City."

"That's right and I would like to send you Shelly my Wartortle for Colgate to start training him since he hatched," Logan said.

"So you be sending your shiny Wartortle for Colagate the shiny Ralts?" Professor Oak asked.

"Yes for now Shelly is the only one being switched out," Logan replied.

"Alright, I will get Colgate ready to go," Professor Oak said walking away from the phone for a moment.

A few moments later Professor Oak came back on screen."Alright, Logan here Colgate send over Shelly."

"Sending Shelly over right now," Logan said placing Shelly's Pokeball on the transporter.

The transporter flashed a white light as Shelly's Pokeball was replaced with Colagte's Pokeball.

"Got Colgate," Logan said.

"Shelly is here safely and will be taken care of until you are ready for her to rejoin you," Professor Oak said.

"Thanks, Professor let Shelly know I see her again but for now this gym is not the best for her either Sora but have training plans for her," Logan said before ending the call.

"Hey Logan everything good?" Pearl asked.

"Yeah needed to make a call to Professor Oak to switch Shelly for a different Pokemon," He replied.

"Just wondering you walked off after Nurse Joy explained how Lt.Surge defeated so many trainers," Pearl stated."I was wondering if you were nervous."

"Lt. Surge will be tough but I get that badge with some training," Logan stated."As soon as everyone recovers I train and tomorrow we take on the gym."

"You're going with Sandy right?" Pearl asked.

"I'm thinking about it since it says that it is an electric gym in my Pokenav," Logan said reading the guide information on Pokenav.

"River and Elaine decided to get the room, and told me to let you know we can go ahead to the Pokemart to stock up," Pearl said.

"They let go by the time we get back Ruby and the others should be fully healed," Logan said as he and Pearl left the Pokemon Center to head to the Pokemart to stock up on some more medications for his gym battle coming up.

After stocking up on medical supplies Logan and Pearl arrived back at the Pokemon Center just as Ruby and the others were ready to go.

"Litleo!" Ruby cried out as she happily jumped into Logan's arms.

"So you got enough medication," River asked.

"Yeah good to go," Logan said."Now that you healed let's get to training,"

"Lit!"

"Looks like someone eager," Elaine said.

"Well tomorrow is a gym battle and she is eager to be ready to go even if Logan using someone else," Pearl said.

"Then let's get started with training," Logan said as he headed off to find a good training spot in the city.

"So who are you training with?" River asked as they found a spot near the view of the water.

"Sandy and Fani come out!" Logan called out sending out Samdshrew and Ekans.

"Shrew!"

"Ekans!"

"Fani the Ekans is she going to be your second choice because of the new move she learned a few days ago being Dig?" Elaine asked.

"Not completely the reason," Logan replied."Sandy use Slash and Fani counter with Bite!"

"Sandshrew!" Sandy cried as she ran forward slashing her claw towards Fani.

"Ekans!" Ekans hissed as she stopped the attack in its tracks with a powerful bite.

"That's it now Sandy let's try something new Submission!" Logan command.

"A fighting the move?" Elaine questioned.

"He probably working on that for a reason," Pearl commented.

"Fani stop it with Wrap!"

"Ekans!" Ekans cried out as she quickly slithered towards Sandy and wrapped her body around her stopping the attack.

"Woah Fani's speed is impressive," River said with wide eyes.

Suddenly Ekans began to glow white as the body grew in size as it stopped Fani was now a large purple corba.

"Just I expected you were getting close to evolution," Logan said pointing to the Pokedex at Fani.

[Arbok, the Corba Pokemon. A poison type. The frightening patterns on its belly have been studied. Six variations have been confirmed.]

"So that's why you wanted to train Fani," River stated.

"Yes I had a feeling he was close based on how much he grew in strength and speed," Logan said."Sandy and Fani return that enough for today. Next is Ruby and Mittens," He said sending out his Meowth.

After hours of training, Logan decided to call it a day feeling even more confident for his gym battle against Lt. Surge.
