Chapter 10: Revealing undercover Secrets

Eddie eyed Jamie gave him an unimpressed look.

"You never told me about the Sanfino's. Who's Bianca?"

Jamie looked at Eddie and squeezed her hand giving her a serious look.

"Let's go to our room and talk. Dad and pop already know this story."

Eddie nodded but gave Jamie a questioning look as they made their way back to their temporary bedroom. Megan was still sleeping. Shutting the door, Jamie sat on the bed and Eddie joined him. Taking a breath and letting it out, Jamie dove in and began to explain.

"So, who are the Sanfino's? Before I get into that, let's start a little before that. Renzulli assigned us to a bar that was suspected of serving alcohol to minors and the sale of narcotics. A few of the other guys and I were supposed to observe. We were allowed a maximum of two drinks to blend in. That first night I got a beer and sat down at the bar. A guy sits down next to me and says he swears he's seen me before. I told him I didn't think we'd ever met.

He thinks I went to Saint David's and that he's seen me there. A college kid thinks I'm hitting on his girlfriend and spills my beer on me. For the record she and her friend were flirting with me. I wanted nothing to do with them. He introduces himself as Noble Sanfino. Then he goes on about how he spent his days in some club called Stardust and getting high. I just agree with him. I tell him I've got this girlfriend that need's a little encouragement and if he knew anyone who could help me score something. He tells me about some guy in the back of the bar in the men's room who is selling some new hybrid drug called Mash. I don't move but I tell him I'm in on getting some. He goes first and then comes back says he feels weird. I tell the bar tender to call 911 but he won't do it because Noble is OD'ing and its against the house rules. I take Noble outside and his nose is bleeding. I help him sit down at a table outside the bar and call for a bus."

Eddie moved closer to Jamie wanting him to continue with his story.

"What happened?"

Jamie swallowed and continued.

"I rode with him to the hospital but left as soon as I got there. I didn't want to tip off his family if they tried to look me up and finding out I was a cop. Dad told me that the next day, that bar was locked up and that the guy I'd saved was part of the Sanfino crime family."

Eddie chewed on this piece of info and then formed a response.

"Well obviously Noble lived. How did you take him down the first time?"

Jamie ran a finger over his left earlobe and fidgeted slightly. An old habit.

"A few days later he calls me. I still had my undercover cell phone. He invites me to his family restaurant. I had to run it by dad first. He was in the room with me when I made the call the Noble a couple of days before. It was a Saturday when I went to his family's restaurant. That's when I met his Uncle Phil. Who was by the way out of his mind. But what mobster isn't? He wanted to personally thank me for saving Noble. We were sitting at the bar when he decided to thank me. Then I was invited into the dining area of the restaurant. That's when I saw her. Bianca Sanfino. She was beautiful and had a beautiful voice."

At that admission, that earned Jamie a slap on the shoulder from Eddie.

"Hey! Was she hotter than me? Does she sing better than I do?"

Jamie was quick with a comeback.

"No one is hotter than you. You sing way better than her any day of the week. Hands down. Plus, you are the mother of my child."

Eddie arched an eyebrow at Jamie and crossed her arms.

"So, there was nothing between the two of you? You two didn't hook up?"

Jamie looked Eddie in the eye and shook his head no.

"Never crossed the line. I kept it completely professional."

Eddie kept her arms crossed and her eyebrow arched.

"Never?"

Jamie backtracked slightly but kept his cool.

"We shared one kiss outside a bar. Nothing more than that."

Eddie gave Jamie another look.

"Really?"

Jamie shook his head once more.

"Yes really. I didn't go any farther than one kiss. Why the third-degree Ed? You jealous?"

Eddie gave Jamie an eye roll.

"Why would I be jealous Reagan?"

Jamie put his hands up to try and calm her.

"No one is as beautiful as you Ed. You're smart and beautiful and you kick ass. Bianca was none of those things. I think of her even less now that she's the head of the Sanfino's. I'm wondering though: why would she want to kill me?"

Eddie got a worried look on her face.

"The Santilini's are after me because we collared Greg Salson. Their top hit man."

Jamie added one more thing before he checked on Megan.

"Just for the record, I wouldn't have dated Bianca anyways. She's nowhere near my type. You are."
Eddie grinned and pulled Jamie in for a kiss. When they pulled apart, she gave her answer.

"Well, doubt she could pull off wearing that little black dress in the closet at home."

Jamie smirked and pulled Eddie closer.

"No, I don't think she could. I only have eyes for my special lady. You and our perfect baby girl asleep at the foot of the bed."

Then as if on cue, Megan began to cry. Both Jamie and Eddie crinkled their noses.

"Diaper change!"

A/N: So, what do you guys think? So, I rolled everything that happened between Jamie and Noble together. I left some things out because I thought it might be a bit redundant.
