Hey everyone, a new chapter has arrived. My time playing World of Warcraft and writing my stories is a stretch, but I think I'm finally finding some ground. Anyway, this chapter isn't the one where Grovyle will evolve just yet. It is next chapter.
This chapter is my own creation, it might not be that exciting or such but I felt like I needed to add one with original ideas. Next chapter is the one where Grovyle will finally evolve, so just be a bit more patient please. Now for some reviews answered.
Grant Stewart: Working on it, just a bit difficult to make things different from anime.
jdtperry: I've had no plans for that thing whatsoever.
Ace: No.
Ts22: We can dream big.
Juan Pablo: You think I don't know that? I have plans for the two to meet in my story, you'll just have to wait and see for yourself.
Tony Anderson: No issues, thankfully.
That's all the reviews for last chapter. I've really got nothing else to say, so enjoy yourselves.
Chapter 31: A "not so exciting day".
It has been 2 days since the gang left Verdanturf Town, bid farewells to Timmy and his family and May evolved her Skitty into a Delcatty. With their destination now being Petalburg City, the gang journeyed through Rusturf Tunnel and Route 116. It was no trouble and even Team Rocket wasn't there to disturb them. There were some Pokémon Trainers that challenged them on their way.
Trainers called "Youngster Joey", "Bug Catcher Jose" and "Hiker Clark" to name a few, but they weren't very challenging. The only real impressive trainer was a girl named "Schoolkid Karen". She was very impressive with her Breloom, Dewgong and Exploud, giving Brock a small run for his money. They also picked up a few berries on Route 116.
But now in just a day and a half journey from Verdanturf Town, the gang has returned to Rustboro City. The city where Ash had his first official Hoenn League Gym badge, May learned about Pokémon Contests, Max met friends at the Pokémon Trainers' School and became friends with Mr. Stone.
Right now; the whole gang were walking through a street in the middle of the city. Ash, May, Max and Brock were looking around their surroundings with fond smiles at returning here. Pikachu was the same as the Rainbow Hero, looking around his surroundings from Ash's right shoulder with a small grin.
Verity was carrying Piplup in her arms, Lucario walking beside Sorrel and Jirachi floating right next to Max, all of them looking at their surroundings with wonder. Unlike the others, this was their first time in Rustboro City, so the sights were new to them. All they knew was what Ash and the others told them about this city.
"Rustboro City is looking good, don't you guys think?" Ash asked with an eager voice, turning his head right to look at May. The brunette turned to her boyfriend and nodded right away. "Yeah. I'm honestly surprised that nothing much has really changed". May stated, turning her gaze over to a nearby building where a shopping hall was. One that she had shopped in on the last few days before she, Ash, Brock and Max left Rustboro the first time.
"It hasn't really been that long since we were last here. Of course nothing important has changed since back then". Brock spoke up, turning to look at Ash with a smile as he spoke. "Yeah, but it feels like it's been longer than that". Max spoke up, looking over to the Devon Corporation that was visible in the distance. "Sounds like you guys have all got some good memories here in Rustboro City". Sorrel remarked, both hands in his coat's pockets as he walked. Lucario gave a small growl, watching a nearby couple walk by holding hands.
"Most of them are good memories, but there were some bad ones. After all, this town is where we first encountered Team Aqua". Ash explained, growing a small frown upon remembering that Team Aqua grunt that took them by surprise and managed to get away from them. Verity blinked in surprise at hearing, before she went and stared walking right beside her boyfriend.
"Really? What happened?" The Twinleaf girl asked with a curious voice, eager to hear about this incident with Team Aqua. "Nothing really big. Just one guy that tried to steal from the Devon Corporation, failed thanks to Team Rocket and managed to get away". Max explained in place for Ash, growing a deep frown upon remembering that day and how much trouble he went through.
"Really? I'm surprised to hear he managed to get away when you were there Ash". Sorrel said with slightly wide eyes, certain that his sworn brother could handle a single Team Aqua grunt without trouble. "I was caught by surprise and wasn't even given the chance to battle him. He just got lucky, that's all". The Rainbow Hero said in defense, teeth slightly grit at remembering how that grunt managed to avoid a direct battle with him. "Pika pi". Pikachu commented, giving a wince upon remembering how he got surprised attacked by that guy's Crawdaunt.
"Let's just forget about all that. That's all in the past and there's no need to think about it anymore". Brock spoke up, bringing up his right hand with the index finger out. "Yeah, I'm with Brock. I say we got more than enough payback on Team Aqua and Team Magma the last few times we ran into them". Max said with a grin, one that Jirachi matched perfectly. 'Yeah, we made those bad guys sorry!' Jirachi called out in agreement, raising his tiny right fist into the air.
Ash cracked a grin and chuckle at the two best friends' words, but his face quickly fell upon thinking about his last encounter with Team Magma's leader Maxie and what he said about Mt. Pyre. 'Just what could be there that could be so important? Something ancient or related to Groudon'. Ash thought to himself, taking a mental note to look up information on Mt. Pyre on his Rotom Phone later on.
"Anyway, what's the plan now?" Verity spoke as she stopped walking. The rest of the gang stopped and turned to look at Verity. "Well, we obviously have things we want to do here in Rustboro, right? We're not too far from Petalburg that we can afford to stay here for a bit and get a few things done". Ash's first girlfriend explained to her friends what she meant. After hearing what she had to say, Sorrel gave a nod before he turned to look at Brock.
"I agree with Verity on that. Besides, Brock and I have something important to take care of at the Devon Corporation". The Veilstone boy spoke, catching Brock's full attention as he turned to the younger male with a confused face. "We do?" He questioned Sorrel, no clue on what he's talking about right now. Sorrel gave a small sigh at seeing that look on Brock's face, so decided to just remind him what it is.
"Our fossils, remember?" He said to Brock, resulting in him gasping upon remembering what he and Sorrel found not too long ago in the Valley of Steel. The Claw and Root fossils that he found. He still had the Root Fossil and Sorrel's got the Claw Fossil.
Sorrel gave a pleased nod at seeing Brock's expression, before he brought out his Rotom Phone with the left hand and started searching through it. "The Devon Corporation is the only place in Hoenn that has a Fossil restoration lab. Now that we're here in Rustboro, this is our chance to have them restored to Pokémon". The Veilstone boy explained to Brock, turning his hand around to show the Rotom Phone's screen.
The gang looked and saw a website of the Devon Corporation, along with three pictures of the Fossil restoration lab, Pokémon fossils and ancient Pokémon that were extinct thousands of years ago. "I can see where you're coming from. And to be fair, I think our friends have slept long enough". Brock said with a growing smile, looking at his backpack over his right shoulder where the Root Fossil was inside.
Sorrel gave a nod of the head, before lowering his left hand. "Hopefully they'll be generous enough to hear us out". The Veilstone boy uttered to himself, a little bit worried they'll get turned away. "Hey, can me and Jirachi come with you?" Max suddenly asked Sorrel with a hopeful voice, catching Sorrel a bit by surprise before he looked at the young boy.
"I want to see Mr. Stone again and see how he's doing. Even introduce Jirachi to him". The Petalburg boy explained, taking Jirachi in his hands as he spoke. Sorrel slightly widen his eyes at hearing Max's words, wondering how he knew the president of the Devon Corporation. He gave a small sigh before nodding to the younger boy. "Okay, you can come with. And once we're done there, we'll head to the Pokémon School". Sorrel told his younger friend, much to the excitement of Max and Jirachi at hearing this.
"Hold up a second, I'm coming with you guys!" May suddenly spoke up, catching the whole gang's attention as they turned to look at her. "Why do you wanna go with them? I thought you'd be busy shopping". Verity said with a tilt of the head, certain that her fellow Pokémon Coordinator would have been busy shopping.
"I've already done enough shopping last time we were here. Besides, I'd like to see the school again and show Roxanne how much I've changed since we last met". May explained to the Twinleaf girl, turning to look at her in mid speech. "Okay, I can understand that". Sorrel stated, before turning to look at Ash with a curious expression. "What about you, Ash? Is there anything important you need to take care of here in Rustboro City?" The Veilstone boy asked, which Ash shook his head.
"No, not really. I'm just gonna go somewhere to think". The Rainbow Hero informed his sworn brother, nothing really important to take care of here in this city. Ash's words made May blink in surprise, before she turned to look at him. "Huh? But don't you want to see how Reginald and Sumire are doing?" May asked her boyfriend, reminding him of the two he helped in the Pokémon school.
"No need for that. I paid them a visit before we left last time and they were actually leaving the school to journey around Hoenn". The Rainbow Hero answered, before he turned around and began walking off. "I'll be at the other side of Rustboro city if you guys need me". Ash told the gang, looking at them over his left shoulder as he walked away. "Pika-pi pika". Pikachu waved his left paw to them all, telling them to enjoy themselves.
"Hold up Ash. I'll keep you company". Verity spoke up, running after her boyfriend. Once she caught up with the Rainbow Hero, she began walking the same pace as him. Ash and Verity shared a grin, before the Twinleaf girl and Piplup gazed back at their friends and waved to them. Sorrel, May, Max, Brock and Lucario returned the wave until Ash, Verity, Pikachu and Piplup disappeared from view.
"Alright, let's get going!" Max called out in excitement, taking off in a random direction that'll lead them to the Devon Corporation all the while Jirachi laughed happily in his best friend's arms. The rest of the gang all smiled at their young friend before they followed after him as Max lead the way to their destination.
(Opening: Pokémon Journeys opening: 1, 2, 3, version 2)
With a green background, three mirrors appeared, one vertical with a rainbow background, the second with a blue background and the third had a green. All three mirrors were showing three familiar pairs of legs of three certain trainers. These windows then closed before opening again, this time showing Ash, Verity and Sorrel all running with eager looks. Ash was running forward, Verity was running right and Sorrel left. The mirrors all closed and disappeared to reveal the title "Pokémon Legend of the Rainbow Hero" in colorless letters, before the Rainbow Wing fell past it, changing the letters all into a rainbow color.
'Hey, you still not ready? C'mon, hurry up!'
The three old friends were standing in a triangle position with their backs towards each other with different coloured grounds below them. Ash's ground was a rainbow colour, Verity's an electric blue and Sorrel's a green color. Ash put his cap on his head with a grin, before adjusting his backpack. Pikachu and Espeon then appeared, jumping onto his shoulders, much to the Rainbow Hero's joy.
'You all packed and ready to leave?'
Verity knelt down for a moment, before she stood up to reveal that she was holding Piplup in her arms with the two partners smiling happily at one another.
Sorrel and Lucario were standing right besides each other with the two looking through Sorrel's notebook that he was holding with his right hand. The two partners looked at each other and smiled.
'I'll show you this wide mysterious world'
Ash, Verity, Sorrel, Pikachu, Espeon, Piplup and Lucario were all gathered together, talking to one another happily. It changed to show Sorrel adjusting his right shoe with Lucario stretching his paws out next to his trainer, while Verity had her arms wrapped around her boyfriend's right hand as she gave him a peck on the cheek, resulting in Ash's face turning flushed with Pikachu, Espeon and Piplup laughing in front of them. It then changed to show Ash and Sorrel standing in front of one another, giving a fist up to each other, before Verity appeared from below and wrapped her arms around her two old friends' shoulders, bringing them into a group hug with her eyes closed happily and the two males smiling.
'And skip the slow send-off'.
Ash, Verity and Sorrel then ran out of a Pokémon Center into the outside world. Inside the Pokémon Center, Brock watched them ran out from a bench next to a window, Max and Jirachi were playing together, before they turned to look out the door. May was handing in her Poké Balls to Nurse Joy, before she turned around and gave a warm smile.
'Be it through fire or through water'.
'I'm fumbling blindly through the days'.
'When I don't even know what the next second will bring'.
Ash, Verity and Sorrel were all standing in front of a computer screen as it showed pictures of the legendary trio of Kanto, Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno in three separate pictures with the background showing a map of the Kanto Region. The screen then changed to show Lugia and Ho-Oh in two separate pictures with the background showing a map of the Johto Region.
The computer screen changed to show three separate pictures of Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza with a map of the Hoenn Region as the background. The screen changed to show a single picture of Dialga, Palkia and Giratina together with a map of the Sinnoh Region as the background. It changed once more to show a single picture of Zekrom and Reshiram flying around each other with Kyurem in the center with a map of the Unova Region as the background.
The computer screen changed to show two separate pictures of Xerneas and Yveltal with a map of the Kalos Region as the background. The screen then changed once more to show two separate pictures of Solgaleo and Lunala with a map of the Alola Region as the background. It changed to show a single picture of Zacian (Crowned Sword) and Zamazenta (Crowned Shield) in front of their shrine in the Slumbering Weald. Finally, changed to show Miraidon and Koraidon with a map of Paldea as the background.
Ash, Verity and Sorrel were looking over a folding map, before Ash turned excitedly to Sorrel and said something to him, getting him and Verity to turn their attention to him with the Pokémon Coordinator telling her boyfriend something. Pikachu, Espeon, Piplup and Lucario all sat down besides one another and snacked on some cookies gathered around their trainers.
'Each and everyone one of my memories'.
Ash's left rainbow colored eye showed the brightly flashing Rainbow Wing, before the screen zoomed out to show the Rainbow Hero in his transformed state, falling towards a bright light when Ho-Oh came by and flew around with the camera spinning around as well. Ho-Oh flew off as Ash did a flip and pulled out a Master Ball with his left hand. It gleamed with psychic energy, before it burst open with a white beam coming out.
'Can always be found inside a Ball'.
The white beam cleared to reveal Latios flying in the sky with Marshadow on his back, before Latias joined him from the right, now flying besides her brother with the sky above them filled with dark clouds. The two Eon Dragons then flew faster and out of view
A Poké Ball hit the ground and rolled over to Ash's feet. The camera changed to the inside of it with a round shadow showing the outside with the red top transparent. Ash, Verity and Sorrel gazed at the Poké Ball in wonder, before the Twinleaf turned to look at her old friends. The three stepped back as the device opened with a blue light filling the screen.
'On 1, 2, 3, dive in!'
A spotlight shined down on Ash as he thrust his right hand out with a grin, before all his Pokémon charged ahead with spotlights on all of them as well. Pikachu, Espeon, Torkoal, Venusaur, Blastoise, Grovyle, Raikou, Walking Wake, Zoroark, Snorlax, Timburr, Deino, Sableye, Corphish, Meganium, Tauros, Kingler, Muk, Typhlosion, Nidoking, Gallade, Kabutops, Skrelp, Rapidash, Gengar, Primeape, Hitmonlee, Ampharos, Ursaring, Donphan, Feraligatr, Tyranitar and Trevenant all charged on ahead on the ground, while Latios, Latias, Miraidon Ultimate Mode, Charizard, Taillow, Pidgeot, Heracross, Scizor, Lapras, Flygon, Dragonite, Magnezone, Skarmory and Noctowl flew above them with Marshadow riding on Latios' back and Lapras floating thanks to Espeon's Psychic attack.
Pikachu suddenly sparkled with electric, before he leaped and fired Thunderbolt at Sorrel's Aerodactyl, who dodged it by flying by.
'I've got the future plans I imagined in my pocket'.
Verity's Milotic came out of nowhere with a spotlight on her and fired a Mud Shot attack at Sorrel's Lairon, striking the Rock and Iron type and sending it sliding across the ground past Sorrel, who cried out in surprise. From the side jumped in Lucario with his paws together with an Aura Sphere in between them, getting Sorrel to smile as his Aura Pokémon fired the Aura Sphere, causing the camera to turn around to show Verity standing behind her Milotic, having wide eyes as the blue sphere grew closer.
The screen changed to show Team Rocket all together in the forest with Jessie standing to the right, James to the left and Meowth in the middle. Then from the sides, their Pokémon came out and stood behind them. Jessie had her Seviper, Dustox, Wobbuffet, Trubbish and Gothorita gathered behind her, while James had Cacturne, Axew, Steelix and Parasect behind him.
The three gave confident looks, before the two humans brought out Poké Balls and threw them forward as their Pokémon cheered, before the devices burst open to reveal bright white lights.
'Greeting someone new is always fresh'.
Ash stared up at the sky in amazement as Mega Latios faced off against Primal Kyogre in the air above with it raining heavily around them. Latios charged up a Luster Purge, before he fired it at Kyogre, who narrowed its eyes at the approaching attack.
'No need to hesitate! Try!'
Atop a grassy hill with the sky covered in dark clouds, Verity's Lopunny and Sorrel's Poliwrath stood 10 feet away from each other, before they charged in and began sparking in hand-to-hand combat with neither of them having the advantage.
Ash, Pikachu, Espeon, Latias, Zoroark, Donphan, Corphish and Dragonite all jumped up and cheered with a rainbow background. Verity, Piplup, Furret, Glameow, Vaporeon, Tangrowth, Kingdra and Lopunny all jumped up and cheered with a blue background. Finally, Sorrel, Lucario, Luxray, Accelgor, Lairon, Victreebel and Poliwrath all cheered with a green background.
'Let's have a fight!'
Atop the Sky Pillar, Ash, Verity and Sorrel all stood side by side with Pikachu riding on his trainer's right shoulder as Mega Sceptile, Mega Houndoom and Mega Gardevoir in front of them, all facing up at the sky where a shiny Mega Rayquaza was roaring down at them.
'1: Once the battle is done'.
The Hoenn Region champion Steven and his Mega shiny Metagross appeared with a silver background. The screen changed to show a stadium, where Steven waved his left hand out, giving a commanded as Mega Metagross unleashed a Flash Cannon attack. The camera shifted to show a Dragonite counter the Flash Cannon with a Hyper Beam attack with Lance standing behind the Dragon and Flying Type, having an excited grin planted on his face.
'2: And we're laughing or crying'.
The Johto Region champion Lance and his Dragonite appeared with a dark blue background. The screen then changed to various photos, the first showing Ash holding up the Johto League Silver Conference trophy in his hands, the second showing Verity holding up the Slateport Pokémon Contest Ribbon in her right hand, the third revealing Sorrel researching a set of ruins with his back turned to the camera.
The fourth photo showed all three friends and their partner Pokémon all together. Verity was in the middle, having a wide smile on her face with her eyes closed with her right hand wrapped around Sorrel's shoulders and left hand around Ash's shoulders, bringing the two smiling males into a group hug. Piplup, Pikachu and Lucario were all in front of their trainers in the photo, smiling wildly at the camera. The final photo showed them all leaning in towards the camera with happy faces.
'On 3, let's be friends!'
The screen changed to show Professor Oak, Tracey, Misty, Delia, Azora and Sylvia all together in Professor Oak's backyard with Azora holding her Pokémon in her arms. Professor Oak and Tracey smiled at each other; Misty winked at the camera and gave the peace sign with her left hand. Delia placed her hands down on Azora's shoulders and smiled down at her, getting Azora and Sylvia both to smile up at her.
The screen changed to show Forina with the sky black and various nocturnal Pokémon about, before Jirachi flew through his homeland, leaving a sparkling trail. A wild Ludicolo jumped into view in a forest, surrounded by several confused Marshtomps, before they all began dancing.
'Any day and every day, that's always been my rule'.
Ash, Verity, Sorrel, Pikachu, Piplup and Lucario stood on a cliff overlooking a city next to a tree with a blue sky filled with clouds. Time began changing as the sky changed to reveal a clearer blue one, then an orange sky as the sun began to set and then a beautiful night sky filled with stars.
The screen changed to show the Raizen Mountains, then to Mount Tensei, right where Ash battled Ho-Oh so long ago.
'With this unpredictable, boundless world awaiting'.
In the Petalburg City Gym, Norman opened his determined filled eyes, before the camera zoomed out to show that he was in the Petalburg Gym's battlefield with his Slaking in front of him. Norman crossed his arms, while Slaking roared as it began pounding its chest like a gorilla.
The screen changed to show Ash kneeling down, before he got up on his feet and walked into an opening surrounded by a white light with Pikachu by his right side.
'Let's go! Every time you trip and fall'.
With a yellow background, Pikachu's ears perked, before both he looked up at Ash as he walked forward with a wild smile that grew wilder as he looked down at Pikachu with a rainbow background. With an icy blue background, Piplup cried out as she looked up.
'Let's go! You pick yourself up by my side'.
With a blue background, Verity walked forward with a grin, before it grew as she looked down at her partner. With a silver background, Lucario's ears perked, before turned his head right to look at Sorrel as he walked forward, before he turned to look at his trusted partner with a green background.
Three mirrors appeared and showed the three old friends in separate mirrors with their Pokémon team. Sorrel was in the left mirror with his Lucario, Shelgon, Aerodactyl, Regirock, Lairon and Skorupi around him, facing their direction with a green background. On the right mirror, Verity stood with her Piplup, Gible, shiny Togepi, shiny Beautifly, Furret and Tangrowth besides her as they faced right with a blue background.
In the middle mirror in between the three was Ash with Pikachu, Grovyle, Torkoal, Tailow, Corphish, Deino and Miraidon all facing forward with a rainbow background.
'I choose you'.
Sorrel lifted his left hand, Verity raised her right hand and Ash held up both of his hands, before all three friends hi-fived each other.
(With Ash and Verity/ Play Fairy Tail OST 5 - 26. Momentary Peace)
On the outskirts of Rustboro City; all of Ash and Verity's Pokémon were out and enjoying themselves. Grovyle was relaxing on a tree branch, Tailow was perched on another tree branch, Torkoal's taking a nap, Corphish and Deino were having a comical fight with a dust cloud covering them. Gible was currently underground, digging just for fun, Togepi was fast asleep with Furret lying around the Fairy type keeping it warm. Verity's shiny Beautifly was flying in the sky for fun and as for Tangrowth, it was sitting down and relaxing.
As for Ash's unofficial seventh Pokémon Miraidon, it was lying down on the ground fast asleep next to Ash, who was sitting down and leaning back against a tree trunk, hands folded behind his head and staring up at the sky. As for Verity, she's standing 5 feet away on Ash's right. Pikachu was on her right shoulder and Piplup's on the left one, all three of them staring at the Rainbow Hero with curious expressions.
"Ash, is something wrong? You've been acting a bit off lately". Verity spoke up, snapping the Rainbow Hero out of his thoughts. Ash turned to look at Verity, Pikachu and Piplup, before he straightened up and gave a reassuring smile. "Sorry about that. I've just been thinking about our last run in with Team Aqua and Magma, wondering what they're planning now". The Rainbow Hero told his girlfriend, resting both hands over his knees as he spoke.
Verity blinked at Ash, honestly surprised that he was thinking about those two criminal organizations. "I can understand why you're worried about them. If either of them find Groudon or Kyogre, it'll be bad news". The Twinleaf girl said with a hint of concern in her voice, mind flashing back to the events with Jirachi and how a monster in the form of a Groudon came to be and nearly ate them.
"That's an understatement". Ash stated, climbing up to his feet all the while Miraidon watched him. The Rainbow Hero brought up his left fist and stared down at it. "I've seen plenty of times what happens when someone tries to mess with a legendary Pokémon, it always ends terribly. I even had to save the world once". The Rainbow Hero said, mind flashing back to those events in the Orange Islands with the Lugia, Moltress, Zapdos and Articuno.
It wasn't just that time, there were plenty more such as when that Iron Masked Marauder tried to control Celebi, but was stopped thankfully by him and his friends. "This is a bit different though. From what I've learned from Latios, Latias and Marshadow, both Groudon and Kyogre have a power that other legendary Pokémon don't have. I'm almost scared to see what kind of damage they could do if Team Aqua and Magma tick them off or something". Ash said with a small wince, rubbing his right elbow with the left hand. He's faced legendary Pokémon in the past, but has never really defeated them just stopped them instead.
The faces of Verity, Pikachu and Piplup all turned grim at the thought as well. "That really is something I'd prefer to avoid, but I don't like our chances. Still, I'm sure we'll figure something out just like with Jirachi and whatever that Groudon thing was". Verity said with a positive face, bringing both arms up in a cheerful way. "Pika pikachu-pi!" Pikachu suddenly cried out, throwing his right fist into the air. "Piplup!" Piplup exclaimed, waving its left flipper up and down.
Ash gave a small chuckle, yet still gave them a thankful smile for their support. "Thanks for the support, guys. It'll be tough, no doubt about that". He spoke, turning his gaze over to all the Pokémon under his and Verity's ownership and saw them all now watching Corphish and Deino as they comically fight. "But I'm sure that so long as we watch each other's backs, we'll be fine". Ash added, turning his gaze over to Miraidon just as the violet dragon climbed onto its feet and walked over to its new trainer.
Miraidon stared at Ash in curiosity, while the Rainbow Hero smiled at the unknown Pokémon. He lifted his right hand and pat Miradon's head gently, much to its pleasure. Verity, Pikachu and Piplup all smiled at the two, all happy to see Ash getting along with Miraidon.
This peaceful moment was about to get interrupt however by an unexpected source.
"Hey!" An unfamiliar voice cried out, catching the attention of everyone including the Pokémon. Corphish and Deino even stopped their fighting, the anime dust cloud clearing to reveal the Water type on Deino's back with everyone turning in the direction that voice came.
Walking towards Ash, Verity, Pikachu, Piplup and Miraidon was a 16-year-old teenage boy a bit taller than Brock. He had blond and brown hair, tan skin and teal coloured eyes. He was wearing what looked like a school uniform; a yellow jacket vest over a violet sleeve shirt with a badge on the left and a violet tie tied around his neck. He had a black belt with two mini bags wrapped around his waist. He was wearing long violet coloured track pants, dark brown boots with yellow laces and finally, carrying a large yellow backpack.
Miraidon blinked in surprise, then cried out happily and took off in a run, much to Ash's surprise. The violet dragon came to a stop in front of the unknown teenager, who looked a bit started but it quickly changed to a deep frown. "What're you doing out here?!" He exclaimed, clear frustration leaking out of his voice. Miraidon just gave a happy cry in response, earning a mentally exhausted sigh from the unknown boy.
He turned his gaze over to Ash, Verity, Pikachu and Piplup with the four watching with interest, but he seemed focus only on the Rainbow Hero. "What were you thinking letting Miraidon out of its Poké Ball out here near a city where people can see it?!" He questioned Ash with a loud voice, a small scowl married to his face.
Ash raised an eyebrow at the unknown male, before he and Verity looked at each other in wonder. Pikachu took that chance to leap over to Ash's left shoulder, before the two humans turned back to the teenage male. "Miraidon's been in its Poké Ball for a while now. I wanted it to get some fresh air, so I let it out here away from the city". The Rainbow Hero answered, then narrowed both eyes at the older boy.
"Now answer my question; who are you?" Ash questioned, crossing both arms as he spoke. The unknown man frowned deeply at Ash, before he clicked his toung and turned away from him. "...The name is Arven... I'm Professor Turo's son". The now named Arven introduced himself, much to the surprise of Ash, Verity, Pikachu and Piplup at learning his identify.
(Music end)
"Y-You're Professor Turo's son...?" Verity questioned, looking Arven down and up. He didn't look like Professor Turo at all, but she wasn't one to talk since she didn't resemble her mother.
Arven grumbled at Verity's words, but still gave a nod of the head. "That would mean you're from Paldea... What are you doing here in Hoenn?" Ash questioned the now revealed Paldea resident, unwrapping his arms and allowed them to fall. Arven turned to face the Rainbow Hero and frowned at him. "...I came here because of two reasons. To see if what my father said is true that you can help me". The teenage male answered, much to the confusion of Ash and Pikachu on what he said.
"Help you? Help you with what, exactly?" The Rainbow Hero questioned Arven, tilting his head slightly to the right. Arvan grew silent at Ash's question, staring at the younger male with narrowed eyes for a few moments. Eventually, he brought out a shrunken Poké Ball with his right hand. He taped on the center, causing it to enlarge before holding it up. "Come on out, bud". Arven said with a low, sad voice to the device in his hand.
The device burst open with a bright white beam striking the ground. It took shape and cleared to reveal a Pokémon that Ash and Verity had never seen before.
It was a large, canine Pokémon. Its coat is primarily gray, with blackish gray colorations on its underside, back, and around its face and eyes. It also has a stripe of light gray fur running down its spine. The stripe starts at its forehead, which forms the appearance of slicked back hair; and ends at its rear, forming a long, brushy tail.
Ash, Verity, Pikachu and Piplup widen their eyes in surprise at seeing the Pokémon, but their surprise quickly changed into concern upon noticing some important details. The unknown Pokémon was barely moving at all, it was weaking lying down on the ground, wasn't giving out a single sound and there wasn't any light in its eyes.
Ash gasped in alarm, before he ran over to the unknown Pokémon and knelt down in front of it. "What on Earth happened to this Pokémon?" The Rainbow Hero questioned in deep concern, turning to look up at Arven for an explanation. The teenage boy tilted his head down in shame, but still opened his mouth to speak. "This is Mabosstiff. My partner. My buddy here was...hurt pretty bad a while ago. Real bad, in fact. He never fully recovered". Professor Turo's son answered Ash on what happened to Mabosstiff, not going into exact details.
Ash turned back to the exhausted Normal type, both him and Pikachu's gazes still filled with deep concern. "This is no result from a Pokémon battle, that's for certain. Was the one responsible for Mabosstiff's condition a Pokémon like Walking Wake?" The Rainbow Hero questioned, gently placing his right hand on Mabosstiff's forehead only to flinch at feeling how cold it was.
Arven blinked in surprise at Ash's question, before giving a slow nod. "You... could say that, but there is a few differences. But the point is that it was ruthless and showed no mercy to Mabosstiff". The teenage boy told Ash, before shaking his head sideways. "It was horrible. There was nothing I could have done, it was a miracle itself to get out of there alive with Mabosstiff". Arven added, lowering his head in shame and guilt that he couldn't protect his best friend.
Ash and Verity's Pokémon all came over and gathered around Mabosstiff. They all had concerned expressions for the Normal type Pokémon, even Grovyle, Deino, Gible and Tangrowth had faces full of concern. Despite having different trainers, they couldn't help themselves from worrying about their kind especially seeing one in such terrible condition such as this.
Verity walked up to Arven and stopped in front of him. "How long has Mabosstiff been like this?" The Twinleaf girl asked Arven, turning to look over to Mabosstiff. "...Nearly 4 months now". The Paldea resident answered, much to the horror of Verity and Piplup at hearing this. "4 months?" She questioned in a low voice, walking over to her boyfriend, passing through some of their Pokémon. Miraidon followed the Twinleaf girl to its trainer's side.
Verity stopped right beside Ash on his right, while Miraidon sat down on the Rainbow Hero's left. "How bad does it look?" Verity asked with a trace of fear in her voice, desperately hoping that they can help Mabosstiff. Ash was silent for a moment or two, before he turned to look at his girlfriend.
"It's honestly nothing like I've ever seen before. I don't think I can fully heal it right away. It'll take a few days, maybe even weeks, but I'm confident to say that I can heal Mabosstiff". Ash told Verity, turning to look back at the Normal type once he finished speaking.
Verity let out a sigh of pure relief at Ash's words, same with all the Pokémon surrounding the Normal type. Arven overheard what Ash said and walked over, stopping right behind the kneeling Rainbow Hero. "Are you... serious? You can really help Mabosstiff?" The teenage boy asked with a hopeful voice, catching Ash's attention this time. He looked over his right shoulder to the older teen and saw hope in Arven's eyes.
"Yeah, I can. Just watch me". The Rainbow Hero responded, turning back to the exhausted Normal type in front of him. Ash placed his left hand in his pocket and brought out the Rainbow Wing, holding it up in front of himself. Arven blinked at seeing the feather in Ash's hands and although he admit that it was enchanting, he wondered what Ash was gonna do with it exactly.
As for Ash; he drowned out everything but himself and the Rainbow Wing. He closed both eyes and breathed out slowly, focusing deep within himself. The feather of Ho-Oh in Ash's hands suddenly began gleaming a bright rainbow colour, before Ash opened his eyes to reveal them gleaming a bright light of the same colour. A rainbow aura suddenly erupted around Ash without warning.
Arven gasped in surprise, taking 2 steps back and stared at Ash in awe. Verity and the Pokémon weren't the least bit surprised at seeing Ash's powers as the Rainbow Hero again and instead watched the display in awe and wonder. No matter how many times they see it, seeing Ash's powers never gets old for them.
Pikachu, who had remained on Ash's shoulder the whole time, was now basking in the powers of the Rainbow Hero. "Pi...ka". The Electric Mouse sighed in bliss, a soft and warm feeling covering Pikachu completely and he welcomed it. As for Ash himself; he turned his gaze over to Mabosstiff and stared at the Normal type for a moment. Slowly, he raised his right hand and gently placed it on top of Mabosstiff's head.
The rainbow aura grew larger as it engulfed Mabosstiff, covering the Normal type completely. Everyone watched with Arven biting his bottom lip out of concern for his best friend. His concerns would prove to be unneeded because the rainbow aura covering Ash, Pikachu and Mabosstiff slowly disappearing with Ash's eyes returning to normal.
Ash lifted his hand from Mabosstiff's head and placed it on his left knee. Everyone stared at Mabosstiff with only Ash and Pikachu able to see the light returning to the Normal type's eyes. Then, to Arven's utter astonishment, Mabosstiff placed both paws on the ground and pushed itself up a little and gave a small ruff.
The Paldea resident let out a startled cry, almost taking a step back and threw both hands into the air. "R-ruf?!" He exclaimed in surprise, grabbing the attention of everyone as they turned to look at him. "You...you heard that, right, right? Mabosstiff just woofed! Right?!" Arven questioned with rising spirit in his voice, as if a fire of hope had been lit up inside of him.
Ash gave a smile at the older male, before he nodded to him. "You weren't hearing things. Your Mabosstiff woofed alright". The Rainbow Hero answered, turning his gaze back to Mabosstiff. The Normal type let out another "ruf!", as if confirming to its trainer that he didn't hear things.
Arven breathed out in awe, before growing a massive smile at Ash's confirming what he heard to be true. He began laughing in joy and jumping up and down in triumph. "I-i can't believe it! Dad was right about you all along!" The teenage male cried out in delight, getting Verity to giggle at how overjoyed he was right now. Even Piplup laughed a little at Arven's acting, finding it a bit funny.
Ash rose up from the ground and took 3 steps back from the Mabosstiff, gazing over Arven just as he calmed down a bit from his excited fit. "Come on over here. Take a good look at your best friend". The Rainbow Hero told Arven, something that he gave no objection to as he rushed over to in front of Mabosstiff and got down on his right knee. "Bud, can you see me?" He asked with a hopeful voice, wanting to get a good look at Mabosstiff's eyes.
The Normal type raised its head to gaze directly at Arven's face, allowing him to see its eyes as well. "Ruf!" Mabosstiff called out cheerfully, much to Arven's joy as he started laughing in delight. He stopped laughing quickly, bringing his right arm up to cover his eyes from view to keep anyone from seeing him almost crying in joy at Mabosstiff's miraculous recovery.
"It...it's been so long since he was able to open his eyes! I was so worried..." He uttered to himself, a few sniffles coming out of him once he finished speaking that sentence. Ash, Verity and all the Pokémon surrounding Mabosstiff. "Oh man, I-! I'm so-! I'm so glad!" Arven exclaimed, lowering his right hand and revealing the massive grin he had on his face.
Ash took that chance to walk up and place his right hand on Arven's shoulder, catching the teenage male's attention as he gazed up at Ash. "I managed to heal Mabosstiff's sight, temperature and voice. For a full recovery, I'll need to keep on doing this for a few more days, but your Mabosstiff will eventually recover completely". The Rainbow Hero told Professor Turo's son, giving a small nod of the head.
Arven kept his happy grin as he returned the nod to Ash. "Okay, I got it. I just need to hang out with you. No problem". The Paldea resident replied, getting up on his feet with Ash taking a step back. Arven turned around to fully look at Ash and smile down at him in thanks. "If it means Mabosstiff getting better completely, I'll follow you to the ends of the Earth". The 16-year-old male told Ash, resulting in him and Pikachu smiling nervously at the thought.
"S-Sure..." Ash responded, losing his nervous face and held his right hand out for a handshake. "I'm Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town in the Kanto Region". The Rainbow Hero introduced himself to Arven, who took hold of Ash's hand with his own right hand. "The name's Arven, nice to meet ya". Arven introduced himself to Ash, the two shaking their hands in a handshake.
They let go of each other's hands with Pikachu taking that moment to speak. "Pika pi pikachu-pi". The Electric Mouse greeted Arven with a wave of his right hand. "This is my best friend and partner, Pikachu". Ash introduced his best friend, giving Pikachu a quick glance before looking back at Arven. The Paldea resident gave a grin, raising his right hand and scratched Pikachu's chin with his right hand much to the Electric Mouse's delight.
Verity walked over to her boyfriend's right and stared at Arven with a warm smile. "I'm Ash's girlfriend Verity Awadetsu. And this is Piplup". The Twinleaf girl introduced herself and Piplup, giving the Water type a quick look. "Piplup". Piplup greeted, giving a wave of its left flipper.
Arven nodded to Verity and Piplup in greetings, before suddenly blinking. "Oh yeah, that's right. I got something for you Ash". The teenage boy spoke, getting down on his right knee and took his backpack off. Ash, Verity and the Pokémon blinked at Arven as he turned his backpack around and began searching through it.
After half a minute; Arven found what he was looking for and held it up with his right hand. It was a shrunken Poké Ball, much to Ash's curiosity on how that is a gift for him. "A Poké Ball?" He questioned as Arven stood up on his feet and held the device out for Ash to take. "This Poké Ball keeps the Pokémon that my dad promised to you". The Paldea told Ash, resulting in him blinking in surprise at hearing this.
He took the device from Arven's hand with his left hand and stared at it. "That would mean that the Pokémon inside is a Sprigatito". He uttered to himself, taping on the Poké Ball with the device enlarging. "Pika-pi!" Pikachu cried out with an excited voice, all of Ash's other Pokémon gathering around him. Ash looked at his Pokémon and saw the excited looks on Tailow, Corphish, Torkoal and Deino, while Miraidon and Grovyle looked more interested than anything.
"Go on, let it out. I'm sure the Sprigatito is excited to see its new trainer". Arven said to the Rainbow Hero with a grin. Ash looked at him once more, before nodding to him. He held the Poké Ball out and it burst open, releasing a bright white beam. It went and struck the ground right beside Grovyle on its right with the Wood Gecko Pokémon watching it with curious eyes.
The white beam cleared to reveal the Grass type starter of the Paldea; Sprigatito. The little Grass type was curled up like a real cat asleep, but it woke up straight away after being released from its Poké Ball. The Grass Cat Pokémon raised its head and let out a cute little meow like a cat in the form of a yawn. It opened both eyes and the first thing it saw was Ash and Pikachu with the two staring down at Sprigatito with wonder.
Sprigatito blinked, then its eyes sparkled as it grew a massive smile at the sight of its new trainer. The Grass Cat Pokémon let out an overjoyed cry, climbing up on its feet before taking off into a run and leaped up towards Ash's face. The Rainbow Hero gave a startled cry, placing Sprigatito's Poké Ball in his right pocket and brought both hands up, managing to catch Sprigatito.
"Whoa! You're a lively one". Ash said with a surprised smile, bringing Sprigatito up to his face where the Grass Cat Pokémon gently placed its paws on Ash's face. The sight was so adorable that Verity and Piplup couldn't help laughing a little before the Twinleaf girl brought out her Rotom Phone with the right hand.
She held it up and scanned Sprigatito with it through the Pokédex system. The screen changed and displayed a picture of the Grass Cat Pokémon to Verity. "Sprigatito, the Grass Cat Pokémon. A Grass type. With every step it takes, it releases a sweet scent, enchanting those nearby". The device explained, much to Verity's curiosity at the part of "sweet scent".
"Sweet scent, huh..." She said to herself, closing both eyes and took a sniff of the air. To her astonishment, there was indeed a sweet scent in the air and it was a lovely one that Verity instantly took a liking to. "That's a nice smell. Kinda makes me wish Sprigatito was my Pokémon so that I could smell that scent whenever I want". Verity said to herself with a trace of envy in her voice. "Piplup pip". Piplup remarked with a small smile, liking the sweet scent that Sprigatito gives off as well.
Ash was laughing a little as Sprigatito rubbed its paws on his cheeks without rest, ticking him a little bit. Pikachu, Grovyle, Miraidon, Tailow, Corphish, Torkoal and Deino all watched their trainer and new teammate with happy expressions, glad to see them getting along so well quickly. As for Arven, he gave a nod of approval at the sight, before he turned around and went back to his Mabosstiff.
Eventually; Ash pulled Sprigatito a little bit away to look at the Paldea Region Pokémon with a welcoming smile. "It's nice to finally meet you, Sprigatito. You've probably already realize by now that I'm your new trainer. My name is Ash Ketchum, it's nice to meet you". The Rainbow Hero greeted his newest with a warm grin, glad to have another new edition to the family.
Sprigatito gave a happy cry in response to Ash's words, resulting in him and Pikachu letting out happy laughter. Tailow and Deino began crying out in joy, Torkoal began bawling its eyes out like normal much to Corphish's comical shock, Miraidon smiled a little and Grovyle nodded in approval. Verity and her Pokémon all smiled at the sight, remaining silent and allowing them to have their happy moment together.

Meanwhile inside of Rustboro City; Max, May, Brock, Sorrel, Jirachi and Lucario have all made it to the Devon Corporation and already met their old friend; Mr. Stone. Earlier upon arriving in the company's building; Max went straight up to the front desk and asked the receptionist if they could meet Mr. Stone. Luck was on their side because Mr. Stone happened to be free that day and the receptionist recognized Max as the same boy from before so they complied.
Right now; all of them were walking down the hall to the lab with Max and Mr. Stone in the lead, looking at one another as they talked happily with each other, catching up since their last meeting. The others were walking a bit behind with Jirachi being the only exception, flying right beside his best friend on Max's right side.
"I really have to admit that seeing you again wasn't what I was expecting for today, but I don't have a problem. It's really great to see you again, Max". Mr. Stone said with a wide grin, head slightly tilted down to stare at the young boy. Max laughed happily at his friend, before blinking upon remembering something important. "Oh yeah Mr. Stone, there's someone really important I want you to meet". The Petalburg boy informed Mr. Stone, much to his curiosity on who he is talking about.
Max turned to Jirachi and took the Wish Pokémon in his arms. Jirachi let out a startled cry as Max turned back to the older male and slightly held his best friend out to him. "This is my best friend, Jirachi. I met him a few weeks after we left". The Petalburg boy introduced Jirachi to Mr. Stone, very excited on the inside for two important friends of his finally meeting face to face.
"Ahh..." Mr. Stone said in fascination, ceasing his walking with everyone else stopping. He leaned down a bit to get a closer look at Jirachi while the Wish Pokémon just blinked at him. "Jirachi, huh? That's a legendary Pokémon of the Hoenn Region, correct? I must say Max, I never imagined I'd get to see such a rare Pokémon like Jirachi here". The CEO of the Devon Corporation said with an amazed voice, raising his right hand and gently rubbed Jirachi's head in a pat.
Jirachi opened its mouth and breathed out a bit, unsure if he should speak or not. After thinking about it for a moment and remembering Max's reassurance that Mr. Stone could be trusted, Jirachi decided to take a chance. 'I-it's... nice to meet you, Mr. Stone'. The Wish Pokémon greeted Max's good much, much to Mr. Stone's surprise at hearing Jirachi's voice.
"Incredible... Was that telepathy?" Mr. Stone questioned Max, tilting his head to look at him for an answer. "Yeah. Jirachi can talk to people like that". The young Petalburg boy answered, lowering Jirachi while he is talking. "That is very fascinating. It's very different from the machine we're making, but it's a good way to communicate". The president of the Devon Corporation said with fascination, leaning back from Max and Jirachi.
Sorrel, May, Brock and Lucario watched them with small smiles. Sorrel's smile dropped, he was enjoying watching Max bond with his friend, but he's starting to grow a bit impatient. So, he stepped forward and spoke. "Pardon me Mr. Stone". The Veilstone boy said, catching the attention of Max, Mr. Stone and Jirachi as they turned to look at Sorrel.
"Yes? Can I help you?" Mr. Stone greeted Sorrel, turning around to fully face him. "My name is Sorrel Kaede and I'm from Veilstone Town of the Sinnoh Region. I know that we haven't met before, but I really need a favor from you". The Sinnoh resident told Mr. Stone, much to his curiosity on what this favor could be. "Is that right? Mind telling me what this favor of yours is?" Devon Corporation's president questioned Sorrel with a curious voice.
Instead of answering Mr. Stone's question; Sorrel got down on his right knee, unclipped and took his bag off, placing it down on the ground in front of himself. He opened it, spent a moment searching through it and brought out his Claw Fossil with his right hand. Mr. Stone blinked in surprise at seeing the fossil in Sorrel's hand, then grew a fascinated expression.
"Wow, you have a Claw Fossil? Consider me impressed". The adult man said with a grin, crossing both arms behind his back. "Thanks. Brock's also got a Root Fossil as well". Sorrel told Mr. Stone, turning to look at the former Gym Leader over his right shoulder. Brock blinked at seeing Sorrel's attention on him, before he gave a small smile and brought out his own Root Fossil from his jacket's right pocket. He took it out of his backpack earlier and put it in his jacket's pocket since he was certain that Sorrel wouldn't want to waste time.
Seeing that Brock had his Fossil out, Sorrel turned back to Mr. Stone. "I read that your company had the means to revive a Pokémon from a Fossil, so I'd like to ask for your help in reviving these Pokémon Fossils". The Veilstone boy explained to Mr. Stone, bowing his head slightly to him.
Max's face suddenly started paling from remembering something important; the Devon Corporation's Pokémon Producing machine. Mr. Stone explained to him on his last visit on how it worked, how it can be used to basically bring back ancient Pokémon from fossils. The only problem with that is that the machine wasn't complete yet and because of that, no Pokémon was coming back to life.
Max opened his mouth to speak and tell Sorrel the problem, only for Mr. Stone to speak first. "Sure, no problem". Devon Corporation's president said without hesitation, much to Max's comical shock at hearing this. "Say what!? I thought that the machine wasn't ready yet!" The Petalburg boy exclaimed, turning to look at Mr. Stone with comically wide eyes.
Mr. Stone turned to look at him with a carefree smile. "Oh yeah. Well truth be told, we just finished it recently and it's ready to have its first go". The adult man told Max, much to his further comical shock at hearing this. Paying no heed to the young boy's shocked expression, Mr. Stone turned to look at Sorrel just in time to see him climb back up to his feet with his bag back on.
"This'll be our first time using the machine to create life. We've checked all the fail safes, so I'm confident to say that the chances of this ending well are ". The adult man informed Sorrel, words that brought a pleased smile to his face. "I'm glad to hear that. How long will it take?" Sorrel asked with a curious voice, certain that the whole process will take a good amount of time and not just minutes.
"Well, I'd say at least 4 hours. 5 at most". Mr. Stone answered Sorrel, much to his understanding since this wasn't an everyday thing that everyone can do. "Understandable". The Veilstone boy stated, turning to look at Max. "That should give us enough time to pay a visit to the Pokémon School". Sorrel said to his younger friend, snapping Max out of his comically shocked expression and replace it with an excited expression.
"Alright!" Max called out in excitement, turning Jirachi around and gave his best friend a big smile. Sorrel turned to look at Mr. Stone once more and held his Claw Fossil out for him to take. "I'm putting my trust in you. Please don't make me regret it". The Veilstone boy told Mr. Stone, deciding to trust in Mr. Stone since Max and the others spoke of how he's a good man that helped them greatly.
Mr. Stone took the Claw Fossil from Sorrel and nodded to him. "Don't you worry about it. I give you my word that by the end of this, you'll have a new Pokémon". Devon Corporation's president promised Sorrel, giving him a reassuring smile to show he meant every word he spoke. Sorrel's expression didn't change, but he gave a nod to the older male, trusting in his words.
(Meanwhile/ Music end)
In the woods away from Rustboro City and further away from where Ash, Verity and Arven are; Team Rocket was out in the wilderness. Jessie, James and Meowth were walking side by side down the woods, the female adult in the lead and she had a frown married to her face right now.
The reason why they're out here and not at Rustboro City chasing the gang is because they're out to catch some new Pokémon and train. Jessie's performance in her last Pokémon Contest honestly left a bad taste in her mouth, so that's why they're out here right now. Train to get stronger, get more options to use in battle and contests and maybe even evolve some of their Pokémon.
"Jessie, you do realize we might not get much done here, right? There isn't any strong Pokémon here, so battling them won't do any good". James said to his teammate, looking down at a shrunken Great Ball in his right hand. It contained his Fraxure and he doubted any Pokémon out here could provide it a challenge.
"You think I don't know that! Still, we can think of new combo moves and stuff. Even catch some new Pokémon because honestly, we don't have enough!" Jessie snapped at her, quickly looking at him over her right shoulder for a moment before gazing forward. "Not da rain on ya parade, but we kinda got a limit. Both of ya chumps can only have six Pokémon each and you're both close to reaching that limit. We don't even have a place for ya Pokémon to relax once we reach the limit". Meowth spoke up, both arms folded behind his head as he spoke.
Jessie grumbled at the Scratch Cat Pokémon's words, while James nodded in understanding. Despite being members of a criminal organization, they were still Pokémon trainers and they had to obey the rules. Well, some of them to be exact and having only 6 Pokémon was one of those rules. And Meowth was right about them having no place to put their Pokémon once they passed the sixth member limit.
And sending them to Team Rocket's HQ was a bad idea because they didn't want their beloved Pokémon worked overtime or such for other Team Rocket members. And the fact remains that they currently don't know if they were on thin ice with their boss or not. They still haven't completed that Secret Base that they promised him. Not to mention that their old enemies Cassidy and Butch probably told on them to the boss on how they battled back in Mauville City.
So for now, they weren't taking any risks and keeping to themselves for the time being. "That may be, but I still got one spot left and James has two!" Jessie exclaimed, suddenly bringing out their black Rotom Phone with her right hand and turned it on. She began searching through the net on the woods between Rustboro City and Petalburg City, looking for any interesting Pokémon to catch.
James and Meowth remained 5 feet behind their female teammate, watching as Jessie fiddled around with their Rotom Phone. The Scratch Cat Pokémon suddenly blinked before gazing up at James with a curious face. "Hey Jimmy boy, what kind of Pokémon would you consider catching out here anyway?" Meowth asked the former rich boy, catching James a bit by surprise before he turned to the Normal type.
James started humming to himself in thought, turning his gaze up to the sky above with a curious expression. After remaining silent for 10 seconds, he lowered his head and answered. "I'd want a Pokémon that can fly. Dustox is the only Pokémon we've got that can provide aerial support, so having another one could help big time". The blue-haired boy answered Meowth, turning to look back at him once he finished speaking. The Scratch Cat Pokémon thought about and saw James' point about needing more air support.
"Okay. I just hope you're not planning to catch a Wurmple or Taillow". Meowth remarked, no desire to go with raising another Wurmple or catch a Pokémon that the gang has. "Don't worry about that, I don't plan to. At best, I'd catch a Wingull". James shot back, mind flashing to the Seagull Pokémon and its evolved form; Pelipper. It wasn't ideal to him, but it was the best he could come up with right now.
"Pidove!" An unfamiliar voice cried up from above, catching Team Rocket's full attention as they stopped in their tracks. They look up to their right and saw a Pokémon watching them from above on a tree branch. To be more exact, one that they've never seen before.
It was a mainly gray, pigeon-like Pokémon. It has golden, oval eyes and a tuft of feathers atop its rounded head. It has a short, black beak with a bulbous pink cere, and a black patch on the nape of its neck. There is a wide, heart-shaped area of lighter coloration on its chest. Its black wings have a thick gray stripe down the side. It has pink feet with black talons.
The unknown Pokémon stared down at Team Rocket with curiosity, while they stared at it with slightly wide eyes. "Dove". The Pokémon broke the silence by letting out a cheerful cry. "...What kind of Pokémon is that?" Jessie questioned her teammates, keeping both eyes on the bird Pokémon above them. "No clue". James answered, his stare growing interest in it as he stared at the Pokémon.
"Hey Jess, use the Rotom Phone to check out what Pokémon that is". Meowth spoke up, keeping both hands folded behind his head since he wasn't really interested in this Pokémon. At Meowth's words; Jessie narrowed her eyes yet still complied as she held the device up and scanned the unknown Pokémon with it. It did its job and displayed a picture of the bird Pokémon.
"Pidove, the Tiny Pigeon Pokémon. A Pidove flock's cooing can get extremely noisy. Pidove is not attracted to shiny objects". The Rotom Phone gave out information about the now called Pidove to Team Rocket, further increasing James' interest in it. "You know what? Forget catching a Wingull, I'm catching this Pidove!" The blue-haired man declared, bringing up his right hand with an enlarged Great Ball in hand.
Jessie turned to look at her blue-haired teammate for a moment, before giving a shrug of her shoulders since she didn't technically have a problem with that. They did came out here to catch some more Pokémon. "Well, have some fun with that". Meowth remarked, turning around and walked off since he had no interest watching.
"Oh, I intend to!" The former rich boy exclaimed, rearing his right hand back for a dramatic toss. "Go Fraxure!" James shouted out, throwing both his hand and Great Ball forward with the device sent spinning. After a second or two, it stopped and burst open with a bright white beam coming straight it and into the air. It took shape and cleared to reveal James' Fraxure. "Fraxure!" The Dragon type cried out, both claws raised and ready to deal some damage.
(Back with Ash and the others)
Meanwhile with the Rainbow Hero; Ash, Verity and Arven were now chatting as they got to know one another. Sprigatito was currently hanging out with the other Pokémon a little bit in the forest, leaving their trainers alone for the moment. Only Pikachu, Miraidon, Piplup and Mabosstiff were the only ones still with the trainers. Mabosstiff was too exhausted still to get up on its feet, while Pikachu was still ridding on Ash's left shoulder and Piplup being carried by Verity. And Miraidon was just sitting down right beside Ash on his left.
And right now; they had just finished talking about how Arven learned about Ash in the first place. "So, your dad told you about me and how I helped Miraidon before. I'm guessing the main reason you accepted this request was because of Mabosstiff". The Rainbow Hero spoke, turning his gaze over to the Normal type lying down on the ground a few feet behind Arven.
The teenager nodded without wasting a second. "You guessed right. Dad just called one day all of a sudden and told me to deliver your Sprgatito to you, but I had no plans of doing so. That is until he told me that you could help Mabosstiff". Arven explained to the Rainbow Hero and Verity, looking at his best friend over his left shoulder. Mabosstiff noticed its trainer staring at it and gave him an energetic "whoof".
Arven couldn't help smiling at his recovering partner, before turning back to the two in front of him. "To be honest, I found another way that seemed like it could have helped Mabosstiff back in Paldea. But then dad told me about you so I came over to see if he was right or not". He told the couple and their Pokémon, much to Verity's curiosity on this other method of healing Mabosstiff Arven mentioned.
"Another way to heal Mabosstiff? How exactly?" The Twinleaf girl asked Arven, tilting her head slightly to the left. "Piplup pip". Piplup commented, tilting its head as well. Instead of answering Verity's question, Arven brought out something from the backpack on his bag and held it out for Ash to take. The Rainbow Hero, Verity and their partner Pokémon looked and saw that it was a violet coloured book with a drawing of Miraidon's battle form on the front of it.
"A book?" Verity blinked at the book Arven was holding out to them. "It has Miraidon on it". Ash pointed out, turning to look at the violet dragon with Miraidon looking at it trainer as well before Ash went back to staring at Arven's book. "This is called the Violet Book". Arven told them, turning the book over and opened it. He began scrolling through the pages until he eventually stopped at one.
He turned the book around and held it out for Ash to take once more. Wordless, Ash took hold of the book with both hands and brought it closer to look at the pages. The pages on both sides had pictures of herbs of some kind that Ash has never seen before. "Herba Mystica. Area Zero was home to wondrous herbs that instantly impart vigor when eaten. We dubbed them Herba Mystica and attempted to grow some in areas around Paldea. However, before we could harvest, the herbs were eaten by Pokémon—which in turn grew large and strong. We call these Titan Pokémon". Ash read the book, growing fascinated with what's written on the book and what it said about "Titan Pokémon".
"Wow... I've never heard of Titan Pokémon before. What are they like?" The Rainbow Hero asked with a curious voice, looking up at Arven for an answer. The teenage boy placed both hands on his hips and spoke. "Just like it said in the book, Titan Pokémon are much bigger than normal Pokémon and that goes for their strength too. They're so strong that people run at the first sight of them". Arven informed the Rainbow Hero about the Titan Pokémon and just how dangerous they are.
Ash grew more interested after hearing Arven's words, not the least bit intimidated by hearing how dangerous Titan Pokémon were. "The more I hear about Paldea, the more eager I grow for the day that I go there myself". The Rainbow Hero said with an excited voice, much to Arven's comical shock at hearing this as he threw both hands into the air.
"Hold up! You actually wanna go battle those things?! Even after reading what the book said?!" Arven exclaimed in surprise, almost certain that Ash would have grown intimidated with what he read about the Titan Pokémon. The Rainbow Hero gave an amused chuckle at Arven's words, closing both eyes and grew a confident grin on his face. "I've faced a lot of things that people couldn't even imagine facing. I doubt these Titan Pokémon could compare to them". Ash said with confidence, mind flashing back to all the legendary Pokémon and threats he faced back in Kanto, Johto and now Hoenn.
"And besides..." Ash began, closing the book completely and turned to Arven. The Rainbow Hero grew a serious expression with his eyes showing unrivaled resolve, a sight that made Arven take a step back from. "If people are too afraid of the challenges ahead, then they'll never grow as people. It's the same for Pokémon Trainers. If they're too afraid to face strong opponents, stronger than them even, then they'll never grow stronger". He concluded, eyes flashing a rainbow light for a brief moment as if a sign of how he truly means what he says.
Verity, Pikachu, Miraidon and Piplup all smiled at the Rainbow Hero, agreeing wholeheartedly with what he said. Arven was silently in awe at Ash's words, staring down at the younger boy with wide eyes. He eventually closed both eyes and grew a grin, then chuckled. "Well, you're clearly unlike any trainer I've ever met before. Just know that if you really plan to go to Area Zero one day, then be prepared in every possible way". Arven warned the Rainbow Hero, knowing full well how dangerous that place is since he himself went there once.
"I'll keep that in mind". Ash stated, holding the book out for Arven to take. The Paldea resident took the Violet Book and put it away behind himself. "With all of that settled, is it alright if I ask you what Paldea's like? I'm curious about that school uniform you're wearing". Verity spoke, looking at Arven's outfit with curiosity. She may not recognize it as any outfit she's ever seen, but Verity can teel at least that it is a school uniform.
Arven blinked at the Twinleaf girl, before looking down at his uniform. He then gave a chuckle because he could understand Verity's curiosity with it. "Oh, this? This is a uniform of the Uva Academy". The teenage boy informed Verity, much to the curiosity of her, Ash, Piplup, Pikachu and Miraidon at hearing this. "The Uva Academy?" Ash questioned with interest, growing curious about this school from the Paldea Region and what its connection to Pokémon was.
The next few hours would be spent with Arven telling Ash, Verity, Pikachu and Piplup more about his home, the Paldea Region.
(With the rest of the gang/ Play Trainer School - Pokemon Sun & Moon Music Extended)
Back with Max, May, Brock, Sorrel, Jirachi and Lucario, they all left the Devon Corporation and headed straight for the Pokémon School in Rustboro City. They arrived quickly and asked the headmaster if they could visit Roxanne and her beginner's class, a request he was more than happy to permit.
Right now; the headmaster and gang were standing in front of the door to Roxanne's beginner class. The headmaster had intended to give Sorrel a tour through the school like he did with the gang on their first visit, but he declined. He had no real desire to learn about the school since they won't be staying for long.
The headmaster turned to the Pokémon trainers and their Pokémon standing behind him. Lucario was right beside Sorrel, while Jirachi is being carried in Max's arms. "Miss Roxanne should be teaching her class right now. I'm sure they'll be glad to see you all again". The adult man told them with a kind smile, certain that Roxanne and her students will be overjoyed to see Max and his friends again.
Max, May and Brock all nodded eagerly, while Sorrel, Lucario and Jirachi all remained passive. The headmaster turned to the door and grabbed hold of its doorknob. He twisted it and pushed open the door, revealing Roxanne's beginner class to them all. To Max, May and Brock, it was exactly like how they remember it from their last visit. For Sorrel, Lucario and Jirachi, it was an impressive sight.
All the students were the same, Roxanne stood in front of her class and the screen behind her was turned off. But the sounds of the door opening caught the attention of everyone in the room. They turned to the door and saw their headmaster with Max, May, Brock, Sorrel, Lucario and Jirachi, much to the surprise of Roxanne, Tommy, Anita and Kenny at seeing them.
The female Gym Leader turned to face them fully with a warm smile at seeing her friends and former student again. "May, Max, Brock! How wonderful to see you all again!" Roxanne greeted them warmly, the three along with the headmaster, Sorrel, Lucario and Jirachi walking into the room and stopped 5 feet away from her. "Hi Roxanne!" Max, May and Brock greeted the female Gym Leader back, the young Petalburg boy giving a small wave with his right hand.
"Max!" Tommy, Anita and Kenny all cried out in joy, standing up from their seats and rushed over to their friend. Max turned and laughed happily as his friends stopped in front of him. "Hey guys!" The Petalburg boy greeted his friends, happy to see them again since it's felt like such a long time since he saw them.
"I'm surprised to see you all back here in Rustboro City. Was there something important you all needed to do?" Roxanne asked with a curious voice, certain that she wouldn't see them again for a good while since the Hoenn League's still running. "We're just dropping by on our way to Petalburg City for Ash's fifth Gym battle.". May answered her friend, resulting in the female Gym Leader blinking upon noticing that the Rainbow Hero wasn't with them.
"Speaking of Ash, where is he?" The Rock type Gym Leader asked with a curious voice, an answer that all the other students wanted to hear since they were fans of the Rainbow Hero. Brock gave a nervous laugh, certain that the kids won't like the answer.
"He's... busy right now so he couldn't really come visit. And I don't think he can change that". The former Gym Leader answered Roxanne, much to the kids' disappointment at hearing that. "I see... Well, I guess it can't be helped. Norman is a powerful Gym Leader, so Ash needs to take every opportunity to train for his match with him". Roxanne said with an understanding smile, getting a nervous laugh from May.
'Sure, let's go with that. There's no way I can tell her that Ash just didn't want to come here'. The brunette thought to herself, before suddenly blinking upon remembering something rather important. "That's right, we have someone to introduce you to, Roxanne". May told the older female, catching Roxanne's full attention as she turned to May.
The brunette stepped aside, allowing Roxanne to finally see Sorrel and Lucario, both of them staring at her with curiosity. Roxanne blinked in surprise at seeing the unknown male, but still gave him a welcoming smile. "Oh, hello there. I'm Roxanne, teacher of the Pokémon School's beginner's class and Gym Leader of Rustboro City". Roxanne introduced herself to the Veilstone boy, giving a small bow of the head.
"I'm Sorrel Kaede from Veilstone City in the Sinnoh Region. And this is my trusted partner, Lucario". Sorrel introduced himself and Lucario, gesturing to the Aura Pokémon with his right hand. Lucario gave a small growl in greetings, but made no move to approach Roxanne. He could tell from Roxanne's aura that she's a good person, he's just not very trusting of strangers.
Roxanne appeared fascinated at hearing where Sorrel's from. "The Sinnoh Region? That's quit the faraway place from here. And your Lucario is quite a rare Pokémon here in the Hoenn Region". The female Gym Leader said with fascination, knowing a great deal of the Sinnoh Region since her strongest Pokémon is one from that region.
"It is indeed. Far from the Hoenn Region". Sorrel stated, placing both hands in his pants' pockets. He looked at all the students watching from the corner of his left eye and saw how many of them there were, not to mention how young they are. 'I wonder just how many of them are here because of their choices or because they were forced here. So many young kids learning for the day they begin their journeys... I only wish they all experience happiness and joy when they begin their journeys with their partner Pokémon'. Sorrel thought to himself with a small smile, wishing these young kids best wishes for when they become Pokémon Trainers.
Meanwhile with Max, he was catching up with the three friends he made in his short time in the Pokémon School. "It's been weeks since we last saw you! Things have been a bit dull since you guys left". Tommy said to his "rival", speaking honestly because all the excitement seemed to have disappeared that day Max left. "Yeah. Things have been peaceful without any bit of trouble. Kenny's gotten a lot better in the weeks you've been gone". Anita told her friend with an excited voice, before turning to the former shy boy that was too afraid to touch Pokémon.
Kenny nodded instantly in conferment to Anita's words, much to Max's admiration at hearing this. "Wow, that's amazing to hear!" The Petalburg boy stated, glad to hear Kenny's improving greatly since he last saw him. "So what's been up with you? Anything amazing happen in your journey?" Anita asked with a curious voice, wondering if anything excited happened with Max and his friends compared to their peaceful days.
"You guys have no idea. In fact, there's someone really important I want you all to meet". Max told his friends with an excited voice at the thought of Tommy, Anita and Kenny finally meeting his best friend. The three blinked at Max's words, wondering who this "important someone" is.
The Petalburg boy looked over his right shoulder, managing to spot Jirachi floating behind Lucario seemingly hiding from view. "Jirachi, come over here. There's some friends I want you to meet!" The young boy called out with an excited voice. Tommy, Anita and Kenny all blinked at the name that came out of Max's mouth, while Jirachi gazed over to his best friend.
He grew an excited smile of his own and nodded over to him. 'Okay!' The Wish Pokémon called out energetically, flying out from behind Lucario and into Max's arms. The two best friends laughed happily before Max turned around to face his former schoolmates and presented Jirachi to them. "This is my best friend in the whole wide world; Jirachi!" Max called out with a wide smile, Jirachi giving a small wave with his right hand.
Tommy, Anita and Kenny all stared at the Steel and Psychic type with wide eyes full of awe. They knew exactly what Pokémon they're looking at right now because Jirachi was a legendary Pokémon of their home region, an incredibly rare one that almost no one has ever seen before.
"I... I can't believe what I'm seeing right now..." Tommy said slowly with wide eyes, mentally wondering if he's dreaming right now. "Jirachi... I've read all about it. The legendary Pokémon said to grant wishes". Anita said to herself, growing an amazed smile in mid speech.
Kenny looked past Jirachi to Max with a curious face. "How did you find Jirachi? I thought it was a Pokémon that only appears every thousand years". The former nervous boy asked his friend, a question that made Max grow a nervous smile with a nervous chuckle. "That's... a long story". Max stated, bringing Jirachi in once he finished speaking. Tommy, Anita and Kenny all blinked, curious to hear this "long story" on how their friend got a rare Pokémon like Jirachi.
May, Brock, Sorrel, Max, Lucario and Jirachi would spend the next few hours in the Pokémon School, spending time with their friends and having a good time.
(With Team Rocket/ Music end)
Jessie, James and Meowth were once again walking through the woods, only now the former rich boy was staring down at an enlarged Ultra Ball in his right hand with a smirking face. Inside of the device was his newly captured Pidove.
The Flying and Normal type Pokémon had proven to be a bit tricky, but was no match for Fraxure and was defeated easily. James wasted no time and used an Ultra Ball to capture the Pidove quickly and effectively. Once the capture was a success, James used their Rotom Phone to learn everything he could about his newest capture.
James' Pidove was male, knew the moves Air Cutter, Quick Attack and Focus Energy. Its ability is Big Pecks as well. James wasn't too disappointed because it was a wild Pokémon in the forest near Rustboro City. He had every intention to train Pidove hard for the next few days and make sure it can carry its weight.
James let out a pleased chuckle, still staring down at the Ultra Ball. Jessie and Meowth however, were not so pleased because they've found nothing interesting enough for them. The blue-haired male took notice of his teammates' rather down spirits and looked at them with a curious face. "Hey, what's up guys? Both of you are down in the dumps when we should be celebrating!" James exclaimed with a rising smile, holding up the Ultra Ball to the sky as if he was proclaiming something.
"After all we have a new teammate with us! A Pokémon that will provide aerial support and will keep the twerps from our ballons from now on!" The former rich boy called out proudly, resulting in Jessie and Meowth letting out sighs since they could see what he meant. "Ya got a point there Jimmy boy, we get that. We're just disappointed that there isn't really anything interesting in this forest". The Scratch Cat Pokémon spoke up, all three members stopping in their tracks once he finished speaking.
Jessie let out another sigh, before gazing up at the sky above them. "Oh, how ironic. I remember when we used to enjoy the peaceful afternoons like this a year or 2 ago. Now after all we've been through, I can't help finding peaceful times like this to be boring". The adult woman said with a disappointed tone. With how serious things have been for them lately, she's kinda lost the thrill of peaceful times. Heck, she'd even take running into Cassidy right now just to have something exciting to do.
"If that's the case you two, then let's change that!" James exclaimed with spirit, getting Jessie and Meowth to look over to him once more. He held the enlarged Ultra Ball into the air with a grinning face.
"After all, we need to start training Pidove to battle the twerps! With the way it is now, there's no way it'll last even a minute against them! That's why we need to start its training and get it to evolve as soon as possible!" The former rich boy shouted out to the heavens, big plans in mind for his newest capture.
Jessie and Meowth lost their bored faces and nodded to their teammate. They needed to get Pidove up to shape if they were ever gonna use it to battle strong opponents. And after all, it was a Pokémon that could evolve twice meaning it had great potential to be powerful.
"Alright then, let's get to work! Our dreams of catching Pikachu and presenting it to the boss is closer than ever and we can't let up now!" Meowth shouted out to the skies above, pointing straight up with his right paw's finger. "Yeah! And if we let up now and relax, we'll get left behind by the twerps or worse Cassidy and her partner! Futch or whatever his name is!" Jessie shouted out, anime fire appearing over her eyes at the thought of her arch nemesis.
James gave a pleased chuckle at seeing his teammates like that. They still had so much planning and training to do for their next encounter with the gang, Team Magma or Aqua and god forbid, James' crazy family. They needed to be prepared and training their Pokémon was the only way to do that right now.
"Let the training begin! Go...Pidove!" James shouted out, rearing his right hand back before throwing it forward. The device spun around in the air, before suddenly stopping and burst open with a bright beam coming out. It went up into the air, took shape and cleared to reveal James' newly captured Pidove. "Pidove!" The Flying and Normal type cried out energetically, no signs of exhaustion or injures on its body whatsoever.
For the rest of that afternoon; Team Rocket spent training their newest addition with their other Pokémon, training Pidove as hard as they could to be ready.
(Back with Ash, Verity and Arven/ Play Pokémon Anime Song - All We Wanna Do)
With the Rainbow Hero; Ash, Verity and Arven were now sitting down around a fold out trestle table on fold out camp chairs still in the middle of their discussion of Arven's home region, Paldea. As for Pikachu, Miraidon and Piplup, they were all sitting down on the ground around Mabosstiff with the five Pokémon eating separate bowls of Pokémon food that was created for their specific types.
Not to mention that Ash and Verity's Pokémon that took off in the forest earlier had returned and were eating their own Pokémon food as well. They were all gathered around together with the only exceptions being Grovyle and Sprigatito. The Wood Gecko Pokémon was sitting up above on a tree branch, his own bowl of Pokémon food right in front of him with Grovyle enjoying its lunch.
As for Sprigatito, the Grass Cat Pokémon was actually seated on Ash's lap with the Rainbow Hero gently stroking the Grass type's fur. Sprigatito had its eyes closed in peace, a gentle smile on its face and meowing gently at feeling its new trainer's soft hands. Sprigatito was in so much peace right now that it wasn't paying any attention to the conversation between Ash, Verity and Arven.
"Wow... A school that lets its students travel around, go on a treasure hunt and even compete in the region's own Pokémon League? Sounds like my kind of school. And you said it was built 805 years ago, yeah?" Verity asked with a fascinated grin, right hand up and holding her face with it as she stared at Arven. The teenage boy nodded to Verity, opening his mouth and spoke.
"Uva Academy was built in the region's largest city, Mesagoza. It hosts classes which mostly relate to Pokémon. The school is attended by people from various regions across a wide range of age groups. Children and adults study in the same classes together; some classes are attended with Pokémon as well". Arven explained to them about his school, how it works and how students are taught together.
Ash listened in silence, but with great attention as Arven explained more about Paldea and the Uva Academy. The more he heard, the more fascinated he became and eager to one day travel to Paldea. The Uva Academy fascinated him greatly, he's never really had much interest in schools before but it was different with this one he's hearing about. It's almost everything he's ever hoped for in a school.
'I'm starting to consider signing up to become a student of this Uva Academy'. The Rainbow Hero thought to himself, growing an eager grin only for it to quickly fall as he shook his head to rid himself of those thoughts. 'I don't have time for school anyway. I've got my goals to reach here in Hoenn right now. Maybe later when I finally reach Paldea, I'll consider signing up. But for now, I need to focus on the Hoenn League'. Ash said inside of his mind, deciding to focus on the present for now and worry about the future later on.
Suddenly remembering something important he read on the Violet Book, Ash lifted his head to look at Arven. "Hey, Arven? Could you tell me more about the Herba Mystica that was in that book?" The Rainbow Hero asked his newest friend, capturing Arven's full attention. He looked over to Ash and gave a shrug of his shoulders. "To be honest, I don't know jack about them. The Violet Book is all I know about them". Arven answered the Rainbow Hero, before gazing down at his bag that was on the ground right beside him.
He reached down and opened the bag, getting the Violet Book from it. Arven placed the book down in front of him and opened it to the page about Herba Mystica. "I found it in my dad's lab. It's this book full of crazy stories and legends and things-stuff nobody'd usually believe. Like I said before, I was gonna try searching for them to help Mabosstiff". Arven explained to the Rainbow Hero, turning the book around and pushed it to him.
Ash gazed down at the book's pages, while Verity continued looking at Arven. "And then from what you told us earlier, your dad called you, right?" The brown-haired female asked, receiving a nod from Arven in response. "Yup. And honestly; he had some nerve. Just calling out of the blue and telling me to come here to look for Ash. To be honest, every part of me just screamed to say "No" at him and start my journey to find the herbs". The son of Professor Turo answered, leaning back against his back and stared up at the sky above.
"Like I said before, he told me all about you and strongly urged me to find you. I don't know what it was that made me do it, maybe faith in my dad or in this mysterious power you have, but I decided to just go for it and came here. And now, I'm glad I did come here". Arven said with a growing smile, turning his gaze over to Mabosstiff and saw him eating his meal with joy all the while conversing with Pikachu and Piplup sitting down close.
Ash and Verity looked over to their partners and smiled at them. The Rainbow Hero then turned his gaze over to Miraidon where he saw the violet dragon had already finished its meal and was now lying down on the ground, resting. Ash blinked upon remembering Arven's reaction at seeing Miraidon and wondered what their relationship was.
Growing curious, Ash turned to look at the older male and spoke. "Arven, is it alright if I ask how you know Miraidon exactly?" The Rainbow Hero asked his newest friend, a question that took Arven a bit by surprise. He turned to Ash before his face fell slightly and he gazed down at his own lap. Ash lightly widen his eyes upon seeing that look on Arven's face, growing worried that he might have touched a sensitive subject.
"...If it's too personal to tell me about it, you don't have to tell me anything. I don't want to make you uncomfortable". Ash quickly told the older male, turning his gaze down to the Grass Cat Pokémon on his lap. Arven gave his newest friend a thankful smile, before looking over to all the Pokémon under the ownership of Ash and Verity.
"I have to admit that you guys have some interesting Pokémon. Out of curiosity, what kind of goals do you two have?" The teenage male asked with a curious voice, turning back to Ash first and then to Verity. The young couple shared a glance for a moment or two before they went back to Arven with Verity speaking first. "At first I came here to Hoenn to find Ash, but then I saw Pokémon Contests and grew curious. Before I even knew it, I became a Pokémon Coordinator that won 3 ribbons". The Twinleaf girl explained, gazing down to her right where her own bag was, resting on the ground.
Verity reached out and grabbed hold of her bag with the right hand. She brought it up and placed it on her lap, before opening the bag. Verity brought out the ribbons case and placed it on the table. She opened the case, revealing the three ribbons inside, much to Arven's admiration at seeing them. "Wow... Now that's impressive. Does that mean your dream is to become a top Pokémon Coordinator?" The teenager asked with a curious voice, turning back to Verity's face.
Verity blinked at Arven, before growing an uncertain face since that wasn't her number 1 goal in the world. "I... guess you can say that. Since I've become a Pokémon Coordinator, it's only fair to aim for the top and give it all I've got. My number one goal is to become a trainer strong enough to beat my mum someday". The brunette told her newest friend, speaking the truth because from starting her journey she aimed to defeat Sinnoh's greatest trainer one day.
Ash turned and looked at his girlfriend with wonder in his eyes. He's heard Verity talk about her mother and dreams many times now, but one question remained a mystery to him. It was the identity of who Verity's mother is and even when he asks her, Verity does everything she could to change the subject or dodge the question. It was clear it's a subject that Verity didn't want to talk about so he respected her wishes and didn't bring it up anymore.
Arven grew a curious face at the Twinleaf girl and wondered who exactly her mother was. "Huh... Okay then. Well, good luck with that". The teenager told Verity, deciding not to pray too much into her personal business. He turned to the Rainbow Hero with a curious face to learn more about him. "Well, what about you? What's the point of your journey?" Arven asked Ash, wondering what someone with a mysterious power could be trying to accomplish.
The Rainbow Hero turned to Arven and gave a grin at him. "I'm here in the Hoenn Region to compete in the Hoenn League. I've already got 4 badges and we're on our way to Petalburg City for my fifth badge". Ash explained to the Paldea resident, much to his fascination at hearing this. "Very interesting. You've got a challenging road ahead of you. You do know that you're gonna be facing trainers all around Hoenn if you make it to the Hoenn League, right?" Arven questioned Ash, one that he didn't so much as flinch at.
"I'm aware of that, and it's nothing new. After all, I did win the Johto League Silver Conference". The Rainbow Hero said with a confident grin, much to Arven's surprise at learning this. "Wait, what?! You won the Johto League?!" Arven questioned with wide eyes, throwing both hands into the air. Ash and Verity chuckled at the expression on Arven's face, before the Rainbow Hero continued.
"Yup, and it was a hard fought victory. But my number 1 goal is to become the world's greatest Pokémon Master". Ash told Arven, replacing his surprise with confusion at what he said. "A Pokémon Master?" The teenage boy questioned, placing both hands down on the table.
"I'd honestly be surprised if you knew what that was. And what about you? Why'd you become a Pokémon Trainer?" Pallet Town's number 1 trainer asked with a curious voice, placing his right arm over the table. At Ash's question, Arven grew silent for a few moments until he eventually answered. "I guess I became a Pokémon Trainer to... find my treasure". The teenage boy told his two newest friends, much to their confusion at hearing this.
"Treasure? Like actual treasure or something very important to you?" Verity asked with a curious voice, tilting her head to the right a little. Arven turned to the young girl and nodded to her, then turned back to Ash. "Uva Academy is all about the students finding their own treasures. I've yet to find my own treasure, since I've been focusing on saving Mabosstiff". The teenage boy explained to them, giving a small smile at seeing his best friend so much better now thanks to Ash's mysterious power.
"I see. Honestly, I think that's an awesome goal to have for yourself". Ash stated, wondering to himself what kind of "treasure" he's after himself. He's never really given any thought of searching for anything he'd classify as "treasure", but that's changed now after hearing Arven's words.
(Music end)
The Rainbow Hero looked over to Arven's Mabosstiff through his right eye's corner for a moment, before looking back at Arven. "Say, do you have any other Pokémon from the Paldea Region? I'm curios to see more of them". Ash said with an eager voice, turning his gaze down to Sprigatito on his lap.
Arven blinked at Ash for a moment, before giving a small nod at him. "I've got 3 more Pokémon native to the Paldea Region. My last two are Pokémon from the Kanto and Galar Regions". The Paldea resident answered, looking down at her backpack once more. Feeling a small bit of disappointment that one of Arven's Pokémon was one he already knew, Ash still gave a small pleased grin that he'd get to see some new ones.
"I guess you can't be too picky about it. Anyway, want to have a battle?" Ash asked Arven with an eager voice, something that took Arven by surprise. The Paldea resident blinked at Ash, while Verity grew a small smile at her boyfriend. All the Pokémon overheard what the Rainbow Hero said and looked over to the three humans with Ash's Pokémon all looking a bit eager to battle.
"You wanna battle me? Why?" The teenager asked Ash, giving a small tilt of the head. "I'm a battler at heart and enjoy battling other trainers. And honestly, I've never battled anyone from Paldea before so I'm a bit excited". Ash explained to Arven, giving a small nervous face at the end of his sentence. "Plus I kinda need the training since we'll be arriving at Petalburg city soon". He added, having done no training whatsoever today and that's unacceptable to him.
The Paldea resident spent a moment or two staring at Ash for a moment, before eventually letting out a sigh. "Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt. And besides, I owe you for helping Mabosstiff so a battle would be a way to repay you". Arven said, growing a small smirk on his face once he finished speaking. He climbed up on his feet fully, keeping both eyes on Ash.
"What are the rules for this battle? Just so you know, Mabosstiff still isn't in a condition to battle". Arven told the younger male, turning to look over to Mabosstiff and saw it staring at him in curiosity. "You don't have to worry about that. I won't ask you to battle using a Pokémon that hasn't fully recovered yet, I know personally that a trainer's number 1 responsibility is their Pokémon's health". Ash replied, tilting his head down for a moment or two before looking back at Arven.
"So then how about a 3 on 3 battle? That shouldn't be an issue". The Rainbow Hero suggested, looking over to his Pokémon one at a time. Pikachu, Corphish and Deino all had eager expressions to battle, while Tailow, Grovyle and Torkoal all simply looked interested. Ash gave a pleased grin, before looking back at Arven just in time as he answered.
"It won't be. Shall we get our battle started?" Arven asked his soon to be opponent, which Ash gave a nod of the head. "The quicker, the better". Ash responded, before gazing down at Sprigatito and gently pat its head. "Go join Grovyle and the others. Stay close to them and watch carefully, it'll help you greatly when I start your training soon". The Rainbow Hero told his newest Grass Cat Pokémon, plans already in mind for Sprigatito's training.
Sprigatito let out a cute "meow" in response before jumping off of Ash's lap. The Grass type ran over to Pikachu's right side with the Electric type turning to face Sprigatito with a friendly smile. With his new Pokémon off his lap, Ash stood up and gave Arven a confident grin. "Let's do this". He said with confidence, honestly excited to battle Pokémon he's never seen before.
3 minutes later, Ash and Arven stood 10 feet away from each other in the middle of the open field, Ash's Pokémon all standing behind their trainer. Verity stood to the side with all of her Pokémon and Mabosstiff, a safe distance from the battle about to take place. There was no need for a referee for this battle, it was just one for fun and training.
Arven brought out a shrunken Poké Ball with his right hand, tapped on the center and it enlarged. "One last thing. Are Pokémon exchanges allowed as well?" The teenage boy questioned Ash, something that made him raise an eyebrow. "Sure, why not. Three on three with exchanges allowed and the battle is over when one sides loses all three of their Pokémon". The Rainbow Hero answered, holding his left hand out with the index, middle and ring finger out.
Arven gave a nod, before rearing his right hand back. "I choose you! Naclstack!" He cried out, tossing the Poké Ball out with great force. The device spun around as it soared through, before suddenly stopping and burst open with a bright white beam coming out. It went and struck the ground, kicking up a bit of dust until the white beam took shape and cleared to reveal the Pokémon called "Naclstack".
Naclstack is a quadrupedal Pokémon whose body is made of rock salt. Its cubic head is white with a few cracks and two eyes in the shape of right angles. Each of the eyes are orange in color with yellow squares at their centers. The head is connected to Naclstack's body; the upper half of the body consists of a brown cuboid stone at the front and a rugged, dark brown rock dotted with salt at the back, while the lower body is a single white cuboid. Naclstack's body wasn't connected to its legs and was floating in place relative to them. The legs themselves are cube-shaped, with light brown on top and white at the bottom. Each of the cubes have a small brown stone on one of their corners.
Naclstack let out a cry full of energy from its place in front of Arven with the human catching his Poké Ball with the right hand. Ash and Verity blinked at the sight of Arven's Pokemon, before the Rainbow Hero brought out his Rotom Phone with the right hand. He scanned the Paldea Pokémon with it and the device displayed an image of it. "Naclstack, the Rock Salt Pokémon. It compresses rock salt inside its body and shoots out hardened salt pellets with enough force to perforate an iron sheet". The device spoke, giving out information of the Rock Salt Pokémon.
Ash lowered the Rotom Phone and stared at Naclstack with fascination. "Wow... So that's a Pokémon from the Paldea Region. Interesting..." The Rainbow Hero said to himself, putting the Rotom Phone away in his pocket. He then looked over his left shoulder to the Pokémon behind him. Pikachu, Corphish and Deino all looked eager and decided, Tailow was perched on Grovyle's left shoulder with Sprigatito right beside its fellow Grass type on Grovyle's right. And finally, Torkoal just let out some smoke from its nostrils.
"...Okay, you're up Corphish". Ash declared, deciding to go with type advantage for this battle. "Corphish!" The Water type cried out in joy with a delighted face, jumping up into the air before running over. It stopped in front of Ash and faced Naclstack, ready to battle.
(Corphish VS Naclstack)
"Corphish, Blizzard!" Ash commanded, pointing forward with his right hand's index finger. "Corphish! Phish!" Corphish exclaimed, holding both pincers out and unleashed powerful blizzards from them. "Naclstack, Hyper Beam!" Arven ordered the Rock Salt Pokémon, going with his own best attack. Nacsltack's eyes flashed, then let loose a powerful orange beam.
Both Blizzard and Hyper Beam clashed and quickly exploded with smoke created. It quickly covered the open field of the forest, but cleared in a matter of seconds. Both Corphish and Naclstack were unharmed without a single bit of harm on them, only continued staring at each other.
Arven had a passive face, while Ash was fully on smirking in excitement. Verity and all the Pokémon not battling watched with great focus, eager to see how a trainer from Paldea battles.

In front of the Pokémon School of Rustboro City; Sorrel, May, Max, Brock, Lucario and Jirachi all stood outside the entrance facing the Headmaster, Roxanne, Tommy, Anita and Kenny with all of them saying "goodbye" to each other.
Sorrel, May, Max, Brock, Lucario and Jirachi all spent a good few hours in the school, eventually reaching the late afternoon hours. May paid a visit to the Pokémon Contest class, Brock did the same for the class for trainers aiming to become Pokémon doctors and Sorrel checked out the battling classroom. Max and Jirachi spent time with Max's old friends. All in all, it was a fun day.
But unfortunately, it was time for them to go. They still needed to go back to the Devon Corporation to pick up their probably revived Pokémon. Once that's done, meet up with Ash and Verity and resume their journey to Petalburg City. So, it was time for them to go now.
"It was really great to see you all again and to meet you Sorrel. I hope we all meet again in the future one day". Roxanne said to her friends, looking at Sorrel first before looking over to May. "It was great to see you as well. And next time, I'll make sure to bring Ash along". The brunette replied to the older female, grateful for the chance to see Roxanne again after all the help she gave last time they met.
Max and Jirachi were saying goodbye to the young Maple boy's friends right now as well. "I'll catch ya later, guys. I'm really happy that I got to introduce you all to Jirachi". Max said with a happy smile, gazing down at the Wish Pokémon in his hands. The Steel and Psychic type let out a happy giggle as he gazed up at his best friend.
"I'm happy that I got to meet Jirachi too. Just wait until I tell my mom and dad about this". Anita said with an excited voice upon thinking of telling parents about how she met a legendary Pokémon today at school. "Just don't be getting ahead of yourself since you've got a rare Pokémon! I'm still gonna beat you bad when we battle for real one day!" Tommy said with a confident voice, bringing up his right fist with it slightly shaking to express how serious he was.
Max turned to his rival and gave him a smirk. "We'll see just who beats who badly on that day". The Petalburg boy said with his own confident voice, no plans to lose their promised battle one day. The two boys then chuckled before Max turned to look at Kenny.
"Kenny, see ya around". Max bid farewell with a wave of his right hand, something that Jirachi mimicked with his own right hand. "Bye Max. Bye Jirachi". The young boy said to his friends with a small smile, giving a small smile to Max.
"Well, I hope to see you all again someday. And hopefully you all join a class again". The headmaster said to the gang, resulting in May laughing nervously at the thought since last time she was in a class she almost got right in a test. "I'll...consider it". Sorrel said slowly, before looking away to the side to hide his growing nervous expression. Despite his words, he had no intention of joining any school because it wouldn't really help him researching legendary Pokémon.
Roxanne suddenly blinked upon remembering something important. "Oh, that's right. I had almost forgotten". She said, before looking at May with an eager smile. "May, you're looking for another Pokémon Contest to earn your third ribbon, correct?" The Rock type Gym Leader questioned May, grabbing the brunette's attention. She turned to look at Roxanne and nodded to her.
In their time together, May had told Roxanne all about the Pokémon Contests she's entered and how she has won 2 ribbons so far. Roxanne was very impressed with May's progress so far and asked where she planned to win her next Pokémon Contest, but unfortunately she had no clue just yet. May didn't even know where the next Pokémon Contest was gonna be, so she's kinda stuck right now.
Roxanne gave the younger female a smile, then spoke. "Well then, I've heard that there's going to be one in Petalburg City soon". The female Gym Leader revealed, much to the surprise of May, Max, Brock, Sorrel, Jirachi and Lucario at hearing this. May's surprise quickly transformed into excitement as she held both hands up in excitement. "Really?! There's gonna be one there?!" She questioned Roxanne with excitement so clear in her voice that everyone could see it.
Roxanne smiled in amusement, then gave a nod of the head. May breathed out in excitement, before looking over to Max with a bright smile. "You hear that Max?! A Pokémon Contest at our hometown!" May exclaimed, the younger brother nodding his head with an excited face. "You're gonna enter and win it, right May?" Max asked with a bright face, which May nodded to him. "You bet! I'm gonna give mum and dad a show they're never gonna forget!" The brunette stated, big plans in mind to win that Pokémon Contest.
Sorrel, Brock, Lucario and everyone else chuckled at the two siblings, before the Veilstone boy turned to Roxanne with a thankful smile. "Thank you for the information, Roxanne". Sorrel thanked the female Gym Leader, which she just gave a wave of her right hand. "It was no trouble at all". Roxanne stated, lowering her hand once she finished speaking.
"Well, we better be on our way now. Bye everyone". Brock bid farewell, turning around and began walking off once he finished speaking. Sorrel, May, Max and Jirachi all followed the former Gym Leader, all waving at their friends with Roxanne, the headmaster, Kenny, Anita and Tommy waving goodbye as well.
(Back with Ash, Verity and Arven/ Music end)
Meanwhile in the forest; Ash and Arven's battle was still going with both sides enjoying themselves greatly. At the first half of the battle, Corphish had gotten the advantage over Naclstack and seemed to be winning, but that changed when Arven recalled Naclstack and had another Pokémon come out to battle.
It was another Paldea Pokémon called "Toedscool". Strangely though, it had a great resemblance to a Tentacool in looks, but was different in many ways. Like for example, it was a Grass and Ground type Pokémon. As for its appearance; Toedscool is a Pokémon that is similar to a mushroom. It has a bulbous pink body with a yellow dot just above its eyes, and two larger yellow circles located further above on either side of its head. Toedscool has small pupils on its eyes and its lower body flares out into frayed flaps. Toedscool has two long, thin, white legs resembling tentacles or mycelium as well.
The most important thing right now is that Arven had the type advantage and Corphish was a bit worn out from battling Naclstack. Full of energy, Toedscool pressed the attack against Corphish and almost came close to knocking the Water type out. But Ash recalled Corphish after seeing the dangers it was in and decided to have someone else battle this Toedscool.
Ash stood with his Pokémon behind him, Pikach on his left shoulder, staring at Toedscool with narrowed eyes. Arven was standing 3 feet behind the mushroom-like Pokémon with his arms crossed, patiently waiting for Ash to call his next Pokémon to battle. Verity, her Pokémon and Arven's Mabosstiff were still watching from a safe distance, only now the Twinleaf girl was carrying Piplup in her arms.
'This Toedscool is honestly a tricky Pokémon to battle. Still, I'm not one to just sit around and think without acting'. The Rainbow Hero thought to himself, deciding to just forget about thinking and focus on action for now. Ash slightly turned and looked right at Deino with a serious face. "Okay Deino, you're up". The Rainbow Hero told his Irate Pokémon, much to Deino's excitement at hearing this.
"De! Deino!" Deino cried out in joy, running past Ash and stopped right in front of him facing Toedscool. The two opponents stared each other in the eye, while Arven raised an eyebrow at Ash's choice of Pokémon.
"Why'd you pick a Dragon and Dark type? If you had chosen your Tailow or Torkoal, you'd have the type advantage, so why?" The teenage boy questioned Ash, turning to look at him in mid speech. "True, but I decided to go with this option instead. And besides, this is my first time battling with Deino". Ash replied to Arven, looking down at the back of Deino's head once he finished speaking.
Deino turned its head to look up at its trainer with a grin and gave a nod. "De!" The Irate Pokémon said, turning back to Toedscool and growled at it. Arven blinked in surprise at Ash's words, then let out a small chuckle. "You've really got some guts to say something cheesy like that. Okay, let's see what you got". The teenage boy stated, opening both eyes before throwing his left hand forward with the index finger out.

"Toedscool, Trailblaze!" Arven commanded, taking the first move in this battle. Toedscool let out a cry, before suddenly taking off in a zigzag motion at an incredible speed. "Deino, Slam". Ash commanded with a calm voice, crossing both arms.
Kablam!
Toedscool slammed its right leg right into Deino's chest, landing a direct hit with Traialblaze. Deino grunted in pain, yet remained strong as it reached down and grabbed hold of Toedscool's leg with its mouth, much to the Grass and Ground type's surprise. Deino lifted its head up, lifting Toedscool into the air before slamming it down hard on its back on the ground, landing a direct Slam attack.
"Huh?!" Arven gasped in surprise at what just happened. Ash's Pokémon all cried out in cheers for their teammate, except for Grovyle who just gave a grin at the sight. "Now that was cool to see. Deino took the Trailblaze attack head on so that he could get a clean hit with Slam". Verity commented with a small grin, honestly admiring Deino's strong spirit to take an attack like that.
"Now Deino, power yourself up with Work Up". Ash commanded, uncrossing his arms and threw the right one out. "Deino!" The Dragon and Dark type called out, letting go of Toedscool's leg. Deino's body was then momentarily surrounded by a yellow-and-pink aura before it disappeared. Toedscool took this chance to get back on its feet and leap away to a safe distance, landing 5 feet away.
"So, raising your Deino's attack power, huh? Well, too bad it won't matter in the end. Toedscool, Dazzling Gleam!" Arven ordered, throwing his left hand out. Toedscool leaped up into the air, a rainbow-colored sphere appearing around its body before it began diving down towards Deino with the intention of landing a supper effective hit on it.
"Oh, heck no! I'm not letting Deino get hit by that! Counterattack with Thunder Fang!" Ash ordered, bringing up his right fist before punching the air with it. "Deino!" The Irate Pokémon roared out, fangs gleaming yellow and sparks of yellow electricity surrounded them. Deino leaped up into the air and clashed right into Toedscool, both Thunder Fang and Dazzling Gleam struggling to overpower one another.
Both Deino and Toedscool grunted, using all the strength they had to win their little contest. Eventually, both Dazzling Gleam and Thunder Fang disappeared with the Pokémon passing by each other with Toedscool going down and Deino going up. The Grass and Ground type landed on its feet, then turned around right as Deino landed a few feet away from it.
"Don't let up! Seed Bomb!" Arven commanded, starting to get a bit fired up from this battle. Toedscool created several glowing green seeds over its heads and sent them rolling towards Deino, striking its back and exploding on contact. A smoke screen was left behind from Seed Bomb, covering Deino from view.
"Deino, Dragon Tail go!" Ash commanded, turning his right hand into a fist before throwing it out to the side. "De!" Deino cried out, leaping out of the smoke and into the air. Deino's tail then became covered in a green, scale-patterned aura. The Irate Pokémon came down and flipped over, slamming Dragon Tail down hard on Toedscool with it crashing onto the ground.
Verity and her Pokémon all winced a little at seeing Deino land Dragon Tail. "Ouch... That had to hurt". The Twinleaf girl remarked, eyes glued to Deino as it leaped back and landed a few feet away from Toedscool. "Piplup pip". Piplup said with an uncomfortable face along with a nervous sweat drop. Piplup then jumped out of Verity's arms and landed next to Gible, while Verity went to pick up Togepi next.
"Toedscool, use Toxic!" Arven commanded, not ready to give up battle just yet. Toedscool got back up on its feet and glared at Deino with narrowed eyes, then suddenly let loose a stream of purple liquid from its mouth at Deino. The Dragon and Dark type let out a startled cry of surprise, before jumping away and managed to dodge the purple liquid with it striking the ground instead.
Toedscool wasn't one to give up apparently as it began rapid firing purple liquids from its mouth at the jumping around Deino, trying to land a hit on it all the while Deino continued jumping around to dodge. 'At times like this, I wish that I taught Deino a special move to attack from a distance. Gotta take a mental note to do that later'. The Rainbow Hero thought to himself, then threw his right hand out to the side.
"Deino, return!" The Rainbow Hero called out, catching Deino's attention. "Deino!" Deino responded, jumping over and landed right beside Ash on his left. The Dragon and Dark type gazed up at its trainer right as Ash got down on his left knee.
He pat Deino's head with a pleased smile at how well it did against Toedscool. "You did great. For now, rest until I call you". The Rainbow Hero told Deino, gently rubbing Deino's head as he spoke. The Irate Pokémon gave a nod of the head, which Ash returned before he got back up on his feet and looked over to Toedscool.
The Grass and Ground type had stopped using Toxic when Ash recalled Deino and was now just standing there, waiting patiently. "Corphish, you're up again". Ash spoke up, much to Corphish's excitement at hearing this. "Corphish!" The Water type cried out, running forward and past Ash. It stopped just a few feet in front of its trainer and stared at Toedscool.
"Going back to the Pokemon you started out with? Sure, whatever. Toedscool, Trailblaze!" Arven commanded, taking the first move in this battle. Toedscool let out a cry, before suddenly taking off in a zigzag motion at an incredible speed.
"Gotcha! Corphish, Blizzard!" Ash commanded, pointing forward with his right hand's index finger. "Corphish! Phish!" Corphish exclaimed, holding both pincers out and unleashed powerful blizzards from them. Corphish's Blizzard attack landed a direct hit on the closing in Toedscool, blasting the Grass and Ground type off its feet and pushing it through the air.
Blizzard soon slammed Toedscool right into a tree's trunk and quickly disappeared. Toedscool groaned, sliding down slowly to the ground and laid against the tree with swirls in its eyes. "Toedscool!" Arven gasped with wide eyes, running over and stopped right in front of his defeated Pokémon. He got down on his right knee and saw Toedscool was thankfully uninjured besides being unconscious right now.
(Music end)
Verity let out a small whistle at seeing Corphish one-shot Toedscool like that. "Wow... Since Toedscool's a Ground and Grass type, Blizzard must have done some massive damage. Corphish is really growing stronger, I'm sure he'll evolve one day". The Twinleaf girl said to herself, bringing her right hand up and gently pat Togepi's head. "Toge". The Fairy type said softly, closing both eyes in bliss.
"Corphish cor phish!" Corphish exclaimed in delight, holding both pincers up in victory. "Nicely done, Corphish!". Ash praised the Water type, a wide smirk on his face after seeing Corphish get a win like that. "Pika-pi pika!" Pikachu called out from Ash's shoulder, waving his right hand into the air.
Arven recalled Toedscool to its Poké Ball, before looking down at the device in his right hand. "Great work out there. Take a good rest for now". The teenage boy praised his defeated Pokémon for its efforts, before putting Toedscool's Poké Ball away. He stood up on his feet and turned around to face Ash and Corphish, then held out another enlarged Poké Ball.
"Naclstack, come on back out!" He cried out, tossing the Poké Ball out. It burst open with a white beam striking the ground, taking shape and cleared to reveal Naclstack. The Rock type gave a cry, while Corphish gave a sour face at facing the same opponent again.
"Here we go again. Corphish, Crabhammer!" Ash commanded, punching the air with his right fist. "Corphish!" The Water type leaped into the air, right pincer glowing a bright white light with water appearing around it. Corphish started diving down to Naclstack with Crabhammer out, intending to land a super effective hit on it.
"Naclstack, Salt Cure!" Arven commanded, throwing his right hand out to the side. Ash raised an eyebrow at what Arven said, while Naclstack formed a white orb in front of its face and released a vortex of salt particles from it at the airborne Corphish. The vortex completely engulfed Corphish from view for a few seconds until the Water type came out falling and crashed into the ground, kicking up some dust.
The dust quickly cleared with Corphish getting back up on its feet. "Cor...!" Corphish groaned with a frown, then noticed something on its right pincer. It looked, then comically widen its eyes at seeing salt crystals on its pincer somehow. "CORPHISH!?" Corphish screamed out, comically jumping up into the air and looked at its own body, where more salt crystals were all over it.
Ash, Pikachu, Miraidon, Deino, Torkoal, Sprigatito, Grovyle and Tailow were all surprised as well at seeing those salt crystals on Corphish's body. "What the heck kind of move was that?" The Rainbow Hero questioned with wide eyes, no clue whatsoever about the move that Naclstack just used. He's never heard of it before or seen it, so he's got no clue what he's dealing with.
Verity and her Pokémon were surprised as well, while Mabosstiff just watched this all calmy. Arven then spoke up with everyone turning their attention over to him. "That was Salt Cure, a Rock type move that only Naclstack and its evolved form can use. Once it is used against a Steel and/or Water type, the damage is doubled. As for those crystals, they're to further damage your Pokémon". The Paldea resident explained Naclstack's move, crossing both arms and giving an arrogant smirk at Ash.
"Cor cor cor!" Corphish grunted with an annoyed frown, jumping up and down to get all the crystals off of him. "Corphish, Blizzard!" Ash commanded, holding up his left fist before throwing out to the side. "Corphish! Phish!" Corphish exclaimed, holding both pincers out and unleashed powerful blizzards from them.
"Naclstack, Heavy Slam attack!" Arven commanded, punching the air with his right fist. Naclstack gave a cry, before jumping into the air, dodging Blizzard with a silver aura appearing over its body. "Corphish!?" Corphish blinked in surprise, looking up at the descending Naclstack right before the Rock type crashed its body down hard on its back.
Corphish grunted with its eyes shut, while Naclstack leaped back landed away with its aura disappearing. "Hyper Beam!" The Paldea resident commanded with a massive smirk, spirits high at things going his way. Nacsltack's eyes flashed, then let loose a powerful orange beam and getting a clean strike on the down Corphish.
The shockwaves of Hyper Beam spread it wide, hitting everyone in the area yet they managed to keep standing. "Corphish!?" Ash shouted out, eyes wide with concern for the Water type Pokémon. "Pika pika!?" Pikachu cried out, a concerned frown married to his face. Thankfully the smoke from that explosion quickly cleared to reveal Corphish lying down on its front with swirly eyes.
"Cor...phish..." It groaned out, unconscious and thankfully unharmed. "Haha! Now the score is even!" Arven laughed out, throwing his right fist into the air in triumph. Naclstack grew a delighted face at its victory.
Ash ran over to Corphish and got down on his right knee. He picked up the unconscious Water type and gave an appreciated smile. "Thanks for giving it all you had, Corphish". The Rainbow Hero thanked Corphish, standing up fully and turned around. He walked over to all his other Pokémon and stopped right in front of them.
The Rainbow Hero got down on his right knee and placed Corphish down gently. Miraidon, Deino, Torkoal, Sprigatito, Grovyle and Tailow all gathered around their teammate and stared down at Corphish, while Ash brought out an Oran Berry down in front of Corphish. "Rest now and regain your energy". Ash told the unconscious Water type before climbing back up on his feet and turned around.
He took 3 steps forward and stopped. Ash reared his left hand in, then threw it out to the side. "Deino, you're up!" The Rainbow Hero declared, catching Deino's attention at hearing its name. "Deino!" Deino exclaimed in excitement, taking a running start before jumping up into the air. It landed on all four feet in front of Ash and grinned at Naclstack with confidence.
"Work Up!" Ash commanded, wasting no time and going straight for powering up. "Deino!" The Dragon and Dark type called out, letting go of Toedscool's leg. Deino's body was then momentarily surrounded by a yellow-and-pink aura before it disappeared.
"That isn't gonna work! Heavy Slam again!" Arven commanded, holding up his right fist and thrusting the left one out. Naclstack gave a cry, before jumping into the air, with a silver aura appearing over its body. It stared falling towards Deino with the Dragon and Dark type looking right up at it.
"Deino, fight back with Thunder Fang!" Ash ordered, holding his left hand out and clenching it into a fist. "Deino!" The Irate Pokémon roared out, fangs gleaming yellow and sparks of yellow electricity surrounded them. Deino leaped up into the air and clashed right into Naclstack.
Thunder Fang VS Heavy Slam, Deino and Naclstack giving it their all to overpower one another. After a total of 10 seconds have passed, an explosion went off in between the two that blasted them away from each other. Deino and Naclstack landed 10 feet away from each other, a few scrapes on them.
"Body Press attack, now!" Arven ordered, slicing the air with his left hand. Naclstack jumped into the air once more and began falling to Deino once more, only without an aura around it this time. "Deino, dodge! Don't let yourself get hit with Body Press!" Ash called out in alarm with wide eyes. Since Deino was part Dark type and Body Press was a Fighting type, it will deal massive damage.
"De!" Deino jumped back and Naclstack crashed into the ground, kicking up a bit of dust that covered it from view. "Hyper Beam, now!" Arven ordered, a deep frown on his face. The dust was suddenly blown away by a powerful orange beam being unleashed by Naclstack, heading straight for Deino.
"Time to take a page out of May's book! Deino, deflect Hyper Beam with Dragon Tail!" Ash commanded, giving a spin and threw his right hand out to the side. "De!" Deino cried out, its tail becoming covered in a green, scale-patterned aura. The Irate Pokémon leaped forward and spun around, slamming Dragon Tail into Hyper Beam and deflecting it into the air.
Arven gasped in surprise, staring up at the airborne Hyper Beam right before it exploded in the air. "Well, that was interesting to watch. Ash must have been inspired with how May deflected a Focus Punch with her Delcatty's Double Slap". Verity commented with an impressed face, both her and the Pokémon watching staring up at the explosion. She returned her gaze to Deino just as it landed on all four feet with its tail losing the aura.
"Don't let up now! Attack with Thunder Fang!" Ash ordered, face displaying a confident face. Deino opened its mouth, fangs gleaming yellow and sparks of yellow electricity surrounded them. It took a running start, before jumping up high into the sky. Once high enough, it dived down and bite down hard on Naclstack, zapping the Rock type hard and dealing some damage.
"Togepi toge!" Togepi called out with wide eyes, wondering why Naclstack didn't attempt to dodge at all. "When a Pokémon uses Hyper Beam, they can't move for a few seconds. That's why Naclstack didn't attempt to dodge". Verity explained to her little Fairy type, looking down at Togepi for a moment before gazing back up at the battling Pokémon.
"Naclstack, stay strong! Use Salt Cure!" Arven commanded, throwing his right hand out to the side. Naclstack formed a white orb in front of its face and released a vortex of salt particles from it, landing a point-blank hit on Deino and causing an explosion.
Deino came out of the smoke cloud, sliding against the ground with a few crystals all over its body. It stopped in front of Ash, a deep scowl on its face at the hit it took. "We've still got plenty of fight left in us! Deino, Work Up again!" The Rainbow Hero ordered, swiping his right hand out to the side. "De deino!" The Irate Pokémon growled, body becoming surrounded by a yellow-and-pink aura for a second or two before disappearing.
"Heavy Slam!" Arven commanded, thrusting his right fist out. Naclstack jumped into the air with a silver aura reappearing over it again, before falling down to Deino again. "Dodge it, then use Work Up again!" Ash ordered, going on the defensive for now.
Deino ran to the side, successfully managing to dodge Heavy Slam with Naclstack crashing down on the ground. Once a safe distance away, Deino stopped and turned to face Naclstack before powering up through Work Up once more.
"Naclstack, attack with Hyper Beam!" The Paldea resident commanded, pointing forward with his right hand's index finger. Naclstack's eyes flashed, then let loose a powerful orange beam at Deino. Ash gave a grin at the sight, eyes flashing a rainbow colour for a brief moment.
"Deino, charge in with Thunder Fang!" The Rainbow Hero commanded, much to Arven's surprise at hearing this. "DEINO!" Deino roared out, fangs gleaming yellow and sparks of yellow electricity surrounded them. Ash's Dragon and Dark type charged forward right into the powerful orange beam, charging right through it with Thunder Fang.
It was an amazing sight to witness; Deino's Thunder Fang making a path for it as it drew closer to Naclstack. "No way!" Arven gasped with wide eyes, finding what he's seeing hard to believe. Verity grew an amazed smile, once again amazed with her boyfriend's rather crazy plans in battle.
Once it was close enough; Deino leaped at Naclstack and landed a hard bite on Naclstack's head. The Rock type cried out in pain as it was covered in powerful electricity, getting the shock of its life. After 15 seconds, the electricity disappeared around Deino and Naclstack with the Rock type collapsing a second or two later.
Deino let go of Naclstack and took a couple of steps back. A wide-eyed Arven let out a gasp, staring directly at Naclstack's swirly eyes. "Naclstack, no!" The Paldea resident cried out, before running over to his defeated Rock Salt Pokémon.
Deino turned around and walked over to Ash, while Arven knelt down in front of the unconscious Naclstack. He gave a sigh of relief at seeing no real damage, just a normal unconscious state for defeated Pokémon. "Man, I'm so glad you're okay". The Paldea resident stated, giving Naclstack a soft pat on its head.
Deino stopped in front of Ash and gazed up at both him and Pikachu with a grin. The Rainbow Hero got down on his right knee and gave Deino a proud smile. "Great job out there. Just one opponent left and we'll win, so give it your all". Ash praised the Dragon and Dark type, bringing his right hand up and gently pat Deino's head. "Pikachu pi pika pi". Pikachu said to Deino, giving him the victory sign with his right hand.
"Deino de deino!" Deino responded with an eager voice, turning around to face Arven while Ash lowered his right hand. Ash looked and saw the Paldea resident had recalled Naclstack and was now walking away. He soon stopped and turned to face the Rainbow Hero with a small frown and a grin. "You've really impressed me today, kid. Not bad, but I'm not out of the game just yet". Arven stated, bringing out another enlarged Poké Ball with his right hand.
He then reared his hand back and spoke. "Come on, Scovillain!" Arven cried out, tossing the device out with all his strength. It spun through the air, until it suddenly stopped and burst open, releasing a bright white light. It struck the ground, taking shape and cleared to reveal Arven's third and last Pokémon for this battle.
The "Scovillain" is a monstrous, bipedal Pokémon that resembled a pepper plant. It has a dark-green body and a leafy growth surrounding its neck which resembles a collar. Scovillain had two leafy arms. It has a short tail and its feet end in a clawed toe at each side. Its two pepper-like heads are attached to its body by stems. The red head on the right has an angry expression, while the light green head on the left appears more mischievous. Both heads have black eyes, their tongues out, and possessed sharp fangs, the bottom pairs of which protrude below their lower jaws.
Scovillain let out a rather enraged cry, something that took Ash and his Pokémon a bit by surprise as they flinched. "Is this another Pokémon from the Paldea Region?" The Rainbow Hero questioned, holding up his Rotom Phone with the right hand. The device activated and he scanned Scovillain with it.
"Scovillain, the Spicy Pepper Pokémon. The red head converts spicy chemicals into fire energy and blasts the surrounding area with a super spicy stream of flame. The green head has turned vicious due to the spicy chemicals stimulating its brain. Once it goes on a rampage, there is no stopping it". The Rotom Phone explained, resulting in Ash and Pikachu sweat dropping a little.
"...Really sounds like a Pokémon with anger issues. Kinda like Primeape". The Rainbow Hero uttered to himself, comparing this Pokémon to his first Fighting type in terms of temper issues. "Pi pikachu". Pikachu whimpered, remembering the day he met Primeape and how frightening he was when they ticked it off. He never wanted to go through something like that again.
"Ash!" Arven suddenly called out, catching everyone's attention. They looked at the Paldea resident and saw him grinning with confidence. "There's something I forgot to tell you about my home region. Just like with Kalos, Alola and Galar, the Paldea Region has our own phenomenon in battles and I'm gonna show it to you now!" Arven called, placing his right hand inside the jacket he's wearing and brought out...
A sort of black crystalized Poké Ball.
(Pokémon Scarlet & Violet - Tera Raid Battle Music (HQ)
Ash blinked at what Arven is holding. "A black... Poké Ball?" He questioned, no clue whatsoever what Arven is holding in his hand. Verity blinked at what Arven is holding, having never seen anything like that before either.
Suddenly, the Poké Ball Arven is holding began gleaming and absorbed rainbow coloured energy from seemingly out of nowhere. Once all the energy was absorbed, the Poké Ball in Arven's hand ceased glowing yet was now glowing a bright blue light with energy leaking out of it. Arven reared his hand back, then grunted as he threw it out forward.
Once it was right above Scovillain, that strange Poké Ball burst into a strange symbol with yellow sparks coming out. Without warning, light blue crystals erupted out of the ground underneath Scovillain, rising up and covering the Spicy Pepper Pokémon from view. Everyone watched the strange phenomenon with wide eyes filled with wonder and amazement.
The light blue crystals burst without warning, revealing Scovillain only it had undergone some sort of transformation. It still had its normal appearance, but seemed more crystalized for some reason. Like a diamond like coating all across their body. Not only that, but now it has a sort of crown with some sort of candle with fire flames lit up on the top on its green head. Red sparkles appeared around Scovillain, right before it roared with a burst of energy coming out of it.
Ash, Verity and their Pokémon all had wide eyes at what they've just witnessed. The strange phenomenon was unlike Mega Evolution or Z-moves, they haven't seen Galar's phenomenon so they had no idea what to expect. Still, what they just saw was amazing.
"Whoa... This is new..." Verity said slowly, a wide-eyed expression married to her face that was aimed at Scovillain. "What... in the hell is this?" Ash questioned, a single trace of sweat dropping down his face. He turned his gaze over to Arven, wanting an explanation on just what he saw.
Arven chuckled with a smug expression, crossing both arms. "This is the Paldea region's special power; Terastallization". The Paldea resident answered Ash, resulting in both Ash and Verity's eyes going wide at what he said. "Terastallization?" The Rainbow Hero questioned, no clue whatsoever about this strange power that Arven just unleashed.
"It's different compared to Mega Evolution and Z-moves. Arven's Pokémon looks like a gem now". Verity commented, admiring the rather beautiful appearance of this phenomenon. "Togepi". Togepi remarked from Verity's arms, anime stars in the Fairy type's eyes as it stared at Scovillain.
Out of all of Ash's Pokémon, only Miraidon wasn't surprised by the Terastal phenomenon. It merely tilted its head for a moment or two, before looking away with an uninterested expression. Sprigatito gave a meow-like cry full of amazement at Scovillain, admiring the way the Fire and Grass type looked right now and wondered if one day she could be like that herself.
Ash blinked, before shaking his head with both eyes shut. "Snap out of it... You can ask all the questions you want later, there's a battle going on right now". The Rainbow Hero said to himself, returning his focus on the battle going on right now. He opened both eyes before throwing his right hand out. "Deino, Thunder Fang!" The Rainbow Hero commanded, going with the attack that Deino knows that's his favorite of the four. "Deino!" The Dragon and Dark type cried out, charging forward with Thunder Fang.
Arven gave a smirk at the sight, bringing up his left fist before punching the air with it. "Go Scovillain! Tera Blast!" The Paldea resident commanded, much to Ash's wonder at what attack he just ordered. 'Tera Blast?" Ash questioned mentally, having never heard of that attack before and has no idea what to expect.
Scovillain let out an enraged roar, bringing both heads together and opened their mouths. A sparkling, orange red ball of energy with a white core in front of Scovillain's mouth. It then unleashed a massive stream of flames with a white core that engulfed Deino completely, before going off as an orange red explosion.
Verity and all the Pokémon, except Miraidon, all gasped in pure shock while Ash widen both eyes in alarm. "Deino!" The Rainbow Hero shouted out in pure worry for Deino, staring at the black smoke cloud covering the Dragon and Dark type from view. It cleared after 15 seconds, revealing Deino lying down on its right side and groaning.
(Music end)
At the sight of Deino, Ash and all his Pokémon ran over to the defeated Irate Pokémon, leaving the unconscious Corphish by himself. Ash stopped right in behind Deino's body while Grovyle, Tailow, Miraidon, Torkoal and Sprigatito gathered around their friend. "Deino, are you okay?" The Rainbow Hero asked in concern, reaching out with his right hand.
However unexpectedly; Deino's head comically shot up and bit Ash's hand happily. Pikachu, Grovyle, Tailow, Miraidon, Torkoal and Sprigatito all owlishly blinked at the sight, while Ash just sweat drop despite the fact Deino's chomping on his hand right now. "...What am I ever gonna do with you?" The Rainbow Hero questioned, before giving a small chuckle and smile. Ash's other Pokémon all chuckled themselves right as their trainer tried to free his hand and was failing.
Arven, Verity and all the Pokémon watched in amusement. Eventually after half a minute, Ash managed to free his right hand from Deino's "grip" and carry's it over to Corphish. Once finished, Ash and his Pokémon stood across Arven and Scovillain with all of them facing the Paldea residents.
Arven had a confident smirk on his face, one that Scovillain matched with both of its faces. "How do you like that? Now we're both down to one Pokémon". He said with a smug voice, yet Ash's expression didn't so much as twitch. He just stared at the older male for a couple of seconds without a word, but eventually spoke.
"Arven... What does Terastallization do to a Pokémon?" The Rainbow Hero questioned, one that made Arven raise an eyebrow. He gave a small shrug of the shoulders, deciding to humor his younger opponent.
"Terastallization changes a Pokémon to its Tera type". Arven answered, resulting in both Ash and Verity frowning a little at what he said. "Tera type?" The Twinleaf girl questioned, tilting her head to the right in confusion. She's never heard of anything called "Tera type", even from her mother and family.
"A Tera type is something that every Pokémon has. It's unlocked when a trainer Terastallize their Pokémon with a Tera Orb". Arven continued to explain, holding up that same black Poké Ball with his right hand. 'So that's what that thing is. A Tera Orb'. Ash thought to himself, narrowing both eyes at the orb in Arven's hand. He turned back to Arven right as he continued his explanation.
"A Pokémon's Tera type can be the same or different from a normal type. For example, take your Grovyle..." Arven paused, pointing at the Wood Gecko Pokémon with his left hand's index finger. "Gro?" Grovyle blinked, everyone turning to look at the Grass type with curious eyes.
"Your Grovyle's Tera type could be Grass, or even Fire. A Pokémon's Tera type could be any of the 18 types. Not only that, but Terastallization also powers the moves with the same types as their Tera type. If your Grovyle's Tera type is Grass, all of its Grass type moves will increase in power big time once it is Terastallized". Arven further explained the Terastallize phenomenon, much to Ash's fascination at hearing this.
'Interesting... It's like a mix of Mega Evolution and Z-Moves. There's no real requirement besides the Tera Orb and any Pokémon can use it. It could even change the game itself by changing the Pokémon's type to perfectly counter its opponent'. Ash said inside of his mind, growing rather interested with this phenomenon through every word he hears.
"And what about that move that Scovillain used? That Tera Blast attack?" The Rainbow Hero questioned his opponent, curious to know if Tera Blast has a connection with that strange phenomenon. "It's a move that best works when the Pokémon has been Terastallize. Normally it is a Normal type move, but it changes to match the Terastallized Pokémon's Tera type, even powering up a bit. Tera Blast is a Special Attack, but it changes to match the Pokémon's best attack type. So, if it is used by a Pokémon that focuses on moves like Focus Punch, it'll be like a psychical move". Arven explained about Tera Blast, further fascinating Ash at learning this.
'Wow... I'm starting to like what I'm hearing. For Terastallize Pokémon, Tera Blast is the perfect move for them. It'll even give them a move of a type they can't normally learn'. The Rainbow Hero thought to himself, gazing over to Pikachu with the Electric Mouse staring at Arven in wonder. 'If Pikachu's Tera type was Water and he was facing a Ground type, Tera Blast would be the perfect move to use'. He added, before suddenly growing a small frown.
'Still, it would only work if Pikachu was Terastallized. On a normal Pokémon, it would just be a Normal type attack and without its full power. It would take up one of my Pokémon's four moves not to mention. I could work on teaching Tera Blast to one or two of my Pokémon, but that would be it. The risks outweigh the gains'. Ash thought to himself, deciding to worry about teaching Tera Blast for later like when he had a Tera Orb of his own.
"I think we've played enough of "twenty questions" now. Choose your last Pokémon". Arven told his opponent, crossing both arms once he finished speaking. Scovillain let out a roar at the Rainbow Hero, waiting for its next opponent to defeat.
Ash gave a grin since he had the perfect Pokémon in mind for this battle. He turned to look at Pikachu with the Electric type turning to look at him. "You're up buddy. Show them how we do things back in Kanto". The Rainbow Hero told Pikachu with utter faith in his voice, something that made Pikachu grow a confident grin. "Chu pi pika!" Pikahcu responded with a cry full of energy, ready for battle even against this "Terastallization".
Ash and Pikachu turned to face forward with confident grins.
(Play Pokemon 2019 OST: Satoshi and Go)
"Pika!" Pikachu cried out, leaping off Ash's shoulder and landed on all four facing Scovillain. The Terastallized Pokémon glared down at Pikachu with a smirk on both its faces, considering this to be an easy victory.
"Tera Blast!" Arven commanded, wasting no time and going for the best attack. Scovillain let out an enraged roar, bringing both heads together and opened their mouths. A sparkling, orange red ball of energy with a white core in front of Scovillain's mouth. It then unleashed a massive stream of flames with a white core at Pikachu.
The Electric Mouse Pokémon showed no fear whatsoever at the closing in attack. He just kept grinning with confidence, so was Ash too. "Pikachu, fight back with Surf!" The Rainbow Hero commanded, throwing his right hand into the air before throwing it down. "PIKA!" Pikachu yelled, summoning a big wave of water and ride on it like he was surfing.
"Huh!?" Arven gasped in surprise at the unexpected move, right as the stream of flames and big wave of water collided. Both attacks struggled against each other for a moment or two, until Surf overpowered Tera Blast and came down on Scovillain, covering it from view.
"Scovillain!?" Arven cried out with wide eyes, the water disappearing to reveal the Terastallize Pokémon lying down on its back groaning a little. Pikachu fell from the sky and landed on both feet away from Scovillain, right before it climbed back up on its feet and glared at the Electric Mouse.
Arven narrowed both eyes, no longer taking this easy after seeing Pikachu using a Water type move. "We're not done just yet! Scovillain, Stomping Tantrum!" The Paldea resident commanded, holding out his gripping left fist.
Scovillain let out a roar, before beginning to start stomping on the ground repeatedly before hitting the ground with both of its feet at once, sending splinters of the ground flying at Pikachu. Pikachu crossed both arms right before the barrage of splinters began striking him, pushing him back a little.
"Pikachu! Send it back with Iron Tail, go!" Ash commanded, thrusting the right hand forward with the index finger out. "Pika!" Pikachu cried out, tail gleaming a bright white light. Pikachu jumped up a little, turned and began hitting the splinters with Iron Tail, reducing them to dust.
Soon all of the splinters were reduced to nothing but dust. Pikachu fell and landed on all four feet. "Pika!" The Electric Mouse cried out, taking off into a charge to Scovillain. Arven grunted, before punching the air with his right fist. "Take him head on with Zen Headbutt!" He commanded, deciding to take on this little challenge of strength.
The top parts of Scovillain's red head began glowing blue, before it took off into a charge. Pikachu and Scovillain drew closer to one another, Pikachu leaped into the air and flipped forward, swinging its glowing tail into Scovillain's glowing red head.
Iron Tail and Zen Headbutt clashed with shockwaves released from the collusion. Both Pikachu and Scovillain almost flinched, yet stopped themselves and continued their class. After a few seconds, both of them were pushed away from the force of their clash.
Pikachu and Scovillain landed 5 feet away from one another, both glaring at each other as they refused to give up. "Both sides are determined to win this thing. You gotta admire their spirits". Verity commented with a small smile, gently patting Togepi's head with her right hand. "Toge togepi". The Fairy type said softly, admiring the strong spirits of Pikachu and Scovillain.
"Hanging in there, Pikachu?" Ash asked his best friend, catching Pikachu's attention. "Pikachu". Pikachu answered, briefly looking over to Ash past his left shoulder before facing Scovillain again.
"This has gone for long enough! Time to bring this little show down to an end! Scovillain, Giga Drain!" Arven commanded, throwing his left hand out. The Spicy Pepper Pokémon grunted, then fired a dark green energy beam from its green head's mouth at Pikachu.
"Fight back with Thunderbolt!" Ash called out, growing an excited smirk as he threw his right hand out. "Pikachu pi!" The Electric Mouse cried out in response, falling onto all four and unleashed a powerful surge of electricity from its body.
Thunderbolt and Giga Drain collided, a strong gust of wind created from their clash. Both attacks exploded and filled the field with smoke, but it quickly cleared. Pikachu and Scovillain were both still in the exact same spot they unleashed their attacks.
Arven narrowed his eyes, before holding up his left fist. "Okay, no more playing around! Scovillain, Tera Blast with everything you've got!" Arven commanded, having had enough of this playing around. Scovillain let out an enraged roar, bringing both heads together and unleashed another Tera Blast attack at Pikachu.
Pikachu made no move to dodge the approaching attack, only stared at the stream of flames drawing closer. The Electric Mouse climbed back up to its two feet, then looked at Ash over his left shoulder with a smirk. Ash grew his own smirk because he knew exactly what Pikachu was thinking right now.
"Let's fight their phenomenon with our own". The Rainbow Hero said, holding up his left arm with the Z-Power Ring giving a shine. He placed his right hand over it for a moment or two before moving it away to reveal the Electrium Z attached to it.
The Rainbow Hero then brought his hands up in front of him and held them in an X shape position, before the Electrium Z on his Z-Power Ring activated. Both Ash and Pikachu moved their bodies in perfect synchronicity as they did the Electrium Z pose, before a bright light surrounded Ash. The light transferred over to Pikachu, causing a bright light to surround the Electric type.
"Pikachu, let's give it everything we've got! Gigavolt Havoc!" Ash called out as Pikachu build up his power, creating a large ball of yellow electricity in front of him, before he punched it with his right fist, firing it. The large ball converted into an electric current that tore through the stream of Flames and continued onto a surprised Scovillain.
The moment it made impact, a powerful explosion went off exactly where Scovillain was standing just a few moments ago. The force behind the shockwaves released made Arven take a step or two back since he was unprepared for such a thing.
Ash held onto his hat so that it wouldn't get blown away, but besides that didn't move an inch. Grovyle and Torkoal held onto Deino, while Tailow, Miraidon and Sprigatito did the same for Corphish. Verity held on tightly to Togepi, Piplup grabbed hold of Verity's left leg to not get blown away while Furret, Beautifly and Gible held onto Tangrowth as well. Tangrowth held onto Mabosstiff, helping the recovering Normal type stay on the ground.
Thankfully after 10 seconds, the shockwaves died down. Everyone gazed to the smoke cloud covering Scovillain from view, while Pikachu fell from the air and landed on both feet. "Scovillain!" Arven cried out in concern, a single bit of sweat dropping from the right side of his face.
The smoke cloud soon cleared to reveal Scovillain lying down on the ground, out of its Terastallization, groaning with swirly eyes. Arven gasped at the sight, while Ash gave a grin of victory. "And that's game". The Rainbow Hero stated, turning his gaze over to Pikachu once he finished speaking.
"Pika chupika!" Pikachu exclaimed in delight, turning around and leaped to Ash. When it was close enough, Pikachu spun around and Ash threw his left hand up. The result was the two best friends doing a hi-five with Ash's hand and Pikachu's tail.
(Music end)
Ash then caught Pikachu in his hands and held the Electric Mouse up into the air. "Awesome work, Pikachu!" The Rainbow Hero praised his best friend, bringing Pikachu in for a great big hug. "Pikachu pi!" Pikachu said in delight, both eyes closed in a happy manner.
Grovyle and Tailow both smiled at their teammate and trainer, while Torkoal started crying anime waterfalls again like usual. Sprigatito. on the other hand, stared at her new trainer with wide eyes full of wonder and awe.
The battle that Sprigatito just watched amazed her greatly. The strength of her new comrades and their trust in Ash was something she really admired. And the Rainbow Hero's trust in them all was amazing to Sprigatito as well. She hopes that with time and training, she'll become one of Ash's strongest Pokémon that he can trust completely without worry.
With Arven; the Paldea resident walked over to his unconscious Fire and Grass type before stopping in front of it. Arven stared down at Scovillain with wide eyes at the fact it lost when he had Terastallized it. Not to mention that attack Ash and Pikachu used because he recognized it as a Z-Move.
'But how? He hasn't travelled to the Alola Region before, so how can he have a Z-Ring and Z Crystals?' Arven mentally questioned, turning his gaze over to Ash. He has learned about the Alola Region, Z-Rings and Z Crystals from his school so he knows that trainers needed to clear trails to acquire that region's special power.
Arven thought back to when he saw Ash's Z-Power Ring and realized something. 'Wait a moment... That wasn't a normal Z-Ring. A Z-Ring is supposed to be white, not black. Could it be a different Z-Ring altogether?' He thought to himself, growing a small frown as he compared Ash's Z-Power Ring to a normal Z-Ring. 'Is it a sort of family heirloom or something? I could just ask him about it'. Arven added, giving a shrug of the shoulders.
He then got down on his right knee and smiled down at Scovillain. "You were awesome out there. We may have lost, but at least we went out with style". Arven told the unconscious Fire and Grass type, bringing out an enlarged Poké Ball with his right hand. "You've earned a good rest". He added, the device firing a red beam from its center and recalled Scovillain.
Once his Pokémon was fully recalled, Arven put the device away and stood up fully. He looked over to the Rainbow Hero and saw him still hugging Pikachu. "Ash". The Paldea resident spoke, catching the attention of both Ash and Pikachu. They looked over to Arven and saw him standing with both hands on his hips, giving a simple smile at Ash. "Not bad". He said, earning a smile from the Rainbow Hero.
"Back at ya". The Rainbow Hero stated, impressed with Arven as well. He got way more than he bargained for in this battle and he's satisfied with it. He got to see Paldea Pokémon, see new moves and even witnessed a new phenomenon just like Mega Evolution and Z-Moves. Ash only wished that they could have battled more.
Arven gave the Rainbow Hero a short nod, before he turned to look at Mabosstiff and saw the Dark type staring at him. He walked over to his best friend, while Verity and her Pokémon walked over to Ash, Pikachu, Grovyle, Tailow, Miraidon, Torkoal, Corphish, Deino and Sprigatito.
"You were having fun, weren't you?" Verity asked with a knowing smile, earning a small chuckle from the Rainbow Hero. "What do you think? You're my girlfriend after all". Ash replied, Pikachu climbing from the Rainbow Hero's arms to his right shoulder. Verity gave a giggle in response to her boyfriend's question.
"Still, that Terastallization was something else. Wasn't it?" The Rainbow Hero said, turning his gaze over to Arven and saw him kneeling down in front of Mabosstiff. Verity gave a short nod as she turned her gaze over to the Paldea resident. "You can say that again. I wonder why Professor Turo didn't tell us about it". The brunette stated, Scovillain's Terastallize form a permanent image in her mind.
"Who knows. I bet that it would be perfect for Pokémon Contests with how it makes Pokémon literally sparkle". Ash said with a small grin at the thought of seeing a Terastallize Pokémon in a Pokémon Contest. Verity gazed up at the sky in thought, thinking that Terastallization would indeed be perfect for contests and could help big time in the performance round.
"Maybe, but I'd need to get one of those Tera Orbs first. And I don't think I'll find one here in Hoenn". Verity stated, growing a disheartened expression because there was little chance of her finding a Tera Orb in this region. "I'm sure things will work out. We just need to be patient and wait". The Rainbow Hero told his girlfriend, crossing both arms once he finished speaking.
"Pikachu pi". Pikachu commented with a smile, Verity giving Ash a small smile before they both looked over to Arven once more. The Paldea resident soon got back up on his feet and turned to Ash and Verity. "I gotta admit that I was expecting Mega Evolution, but a Z-Move was a different matter altogether. How do you even have a Z-Ring anyway?" Arven questioned the Rainbow Hero, walking up and stopped in front of him.
"You'd have to have traveled in Alola to get it, so how do you have one?" The Paldea resident added, Ash just gave a small grin at the older male. "Would you believe me if I said a Marshadow gave it to me?" Pallet Town's best trainer questioned, resulting in Arven blinking at him with a bewildered look. "I'd... find that hard to believe". The teenage male stated, resulting in Verity, Piplup and Togepi giggling a little bit since they were expecting that answer.
(Later on)
The afternoon sky above the forest was a beautiful orange colour without a single cloud in sight. Ash, Verity and Arven were standing around in a circle with the couple staring at their new friend while he stared at them both. Pikachu was hanging on Ash's right shoulder and Piplup's being carried again.
All their Pokémon had been recalled after Ash and Arven healed their fainted ones. As for Sprigatito; Ash used the Pokémon Box Link to send the Grass Cat Pokémon to Professor Oak's care in Kanto. The Rainbow Hero still wanted more time with his current team of Pokémon, but had every intention to swap Sprigatito in once he swaps out his team. For now, he figured it was best the female Grass type meets the rest of his Pokémon and becomes friends with them and maybe Azora.
Once that was finished; Ash and Verity had a discussion with Arven about Terastallization and learn as much as they could about it. In exchange, they told him about their encounters with legendary Pokémon and how they captured a few. Arven was more than happy with this exchange and told them everything he knew about Paldea's phenomenon.
It has been going for a good while and it was still happening right now. "So, you guys encountered some kind of Groudon monster not too long ago. I'm suddenly glad that I wasn't there to see it". Arven stated with an uncomfortable wince after hearing about that Groudon monster.
"Lucky you. That thing was terrifying and I'm glad it has been put down". Verity said with a frown, turning away and walked a little bit away. Ash watched Verity for a moment or two before turning back to Arven.
"Legendary Pokémon and anything related to them are dangerous. It's why they don't let trainers capture them. There are only a few exceptions, but only with trainers legendary Pokémon test and trust". The Rainbow Hero explained, speaking from experience since he's met many black hearted people that tried to use legendary Pokémon's powers and it always ended badly.
"Kinda like you and Miraidon?" Arven questioned, getting a small smile from the Rainbow Hero and Pikachu since they couldn't argue with that. "You could say that". Ash stated, figuring it best not to go into exact details on how he and Miraidon bonded.
The Rainbow Hero opened his mouth to continue speaking, but only to stop at an unexpected surprise. "Ash! Verity!" A familiar voice called out to Ash and Verity, capturing the attention of them, Arven, Pikachu and Piplup.
They looked over to see Sorrel, Brock, May, Max, Lucario and Jirachi making their way up to them, all six of them smiling a cheery smile. Ash and Verity all smiled at seeing their friends, while Arven raised an eyebrow at the sight of them. He had been told about Ash's traveling companions, but they weren't exactly what he was expecting.
Sorrel, Brock, May, Max, Lucario and Jirachi all stopped in front of their friends, taking notice of Arven. "Who's this?" Sorrel asked with a curious voice, staring at the Paldea resident. Arven slightly narrowed his eyes, uncertain whether to introduce himself as Professor Turo's son or not.
Before he could come to a decision, Ash took that moment to speak. "This is Arven, from the Paldea Region. Professor Turo sent him to deliver the Sprigatito to me, but now he's gonna be our newest travel companion". The Rainbow Hero informed his friends, much to Arven's surprise as he turned to look at Ash with wide eyes.
Max gave a confused frown at hearing this since he didn't understand why Arven would join them. "Why's he joining us? If he was sent here just to give you that Sprigatito that Professor Turo promised, then why?" The youngest Maple sibling questioned, reaching down and taking Jirachi into both hands. He got back up and stared at Ash for an answer.
"Arven has a sick and hurt Pokémon that only I can heal. I can't just look the other way, so he'll be staying with us until I finished Mabosstiff's treatment. He's free to stays or leave once I'm done". The Rainbow Hero answered, much to Brock's concern at hearing this. He quickly walked up to Arven and stopped in front of him. "Your Pokémon is unwell? Let me take a look at it, I'm a Pokémon Breeder so I can help it!" The former Gym Leader told Arven with an urgent voice, ready to help a sick Pokémon that needed help.
Arven blinked in surprise at Brock. He wasn't expecting him to offer help right away after hearing about Mabosstiff's condition. Especially after just meeting him and hearing he's joining them. It was at least proof that Brock's a good person and they made him relax a little.
"Brock, normal potions and treatments aren't gonna work. Only my powers will fully heal Mabosstiff in time". Ash informed his old friend, catching Brock's attention. He turned to look at the Rainbow Hero for a moment or two before looking over to Arven. The Paldea resident gave a nod of the head.
"I see... But if there's anything I can help with, just tell me". He told Arven with a determined voice, once again surprising him. "S-sure". The Paldea resident stuttered, a little uncertain how to act around Brock right now.
Brock gave a pleased smile and nod at Arven. Verity took that moment to speak up. "So, did you guys get your new Pokémon?" The Twinleaf girl asked with a curious voice, turning to look at Sorrel once she finished speaking.
Brock turned to Verity, before both he and Sorrel nodded. "Our trip to the Devon Corporation was worthwhile". The Veilstone boy stated, bringing out an enlarged Poké Ball with his right hand. He then tossed it into the air with the device bursting open and released a white beam. It struck the ground and cleared to reveal Sorrel's new Anorith.
Anorith had the appearance of a greenish-gray, arthropod Pokémon that resembles an anomalocaris. A stalk extends from either side of its head, with large, spherical eyes at the tips. The middle of its head is black with two red, teardrop-shaped markings, and an X-shaped mouth is visible on the underside of its torso. Beneath its head are two large, segmented claws. On each side of its body are four white appendages with red tips.
"Anorith!" The Bug and Rock type called out, raising its claws into the air. Sorrel walked over and knelt down beside Anorith, before gently patting its head with Anorith closing its eyes blissfully. "I sent Aerodactyl back to Professor Oak's lab to make room for Anorith". The Veilstone boy told his sworn brother, turning to look at him once he finished speaking.
"I see". The Rainbow Hero stated, before turning to look at Brock. The former Gym Leader gave his old friend a grim, bringing out an enlarged Poké Ball with the left hand and held it out. It opened with a white beam coming out and touched solid ground. It took shape and cleared to reveal the Sea Lily Pokémon; Lileep.
Lileep is a plant like Pokémon based on a Crinoid with eight dark-tipped, pink petal-like tentacles protruding from an opening on top of its head. Inside the pitch-black opening are two glowing, yellow eyes. The remainder of its head is purple with yellow eyespots resembling targets. The head is connected to the body through a yellow stem. The body itself is purple and semi-spherical.
Lileep let out a happy cry before going over to Brock and rubbed its head against Brock's leg. The former Gym Leader let out a joyous laugh at Lileep, before looking over to Ash. "I sent Marshtomp back home so Lileep could stay". Brock informed his old friend, before both he and Sorrel recalled their new Pokémon.
Ash gave a nod of the head, before looking over to May, Max and Jirachi. "And you guys? Was your visit to the Pokémon School a good one?" Pallet Town's number 1 trainer asked with a small smile, crossing both arms as he spoke.
"It was great! I got to introduce Jirachi to my friends!" Max answered with a voice full of spirit, lifting Jirachi up a little bit. Arven widen his eyes in surprise at the sight of the Wish Pokémon, recognizing it as Hoenn's mythical Pokémon. 'I'm starting to believe Ash a bit more now after seeing a Jirachi here'. The Paldea resident said inside of his mind, wondering just how lucky Ash was to encounter a Pokémon like Jirachi.
"I got to talk to Roxanne and show her my Contest ribbons. And I even heard there's gonna be a Pokémon Contest in Petalburg City!" May exclaimed in excitement, much to the surprise of Ash and Verity at hearing this. "Really? Wow, now that's a plot twist". Ash remarked with a growing grin, easily able to understand why May's so excited about this.
May gave a nod to her boyfriend, all the while keeping the excited face. "Yeah! That Contest is gonna be where I win my third ribbon and the best part is that it'll be in my home!" The brunette cried out, everyone smiling at May and her excitement.
"But I want this one to be special!" May suddenly spoke, catching everyone a bit by surprise at what she said. "Special how?" Max questioned his older sister, wondering how she intends to make that Pokemon Contest more special than it already is.
Instead of answering her brother, May turned to look at Verity with an excited face. "Verity, you've gotta enter the Petalburg City Pokémon Contest!" The brunette told Verity, something that took everyone by surprise. Of all the things they were expecting, this was not one of them.
A wide-eyed Verity stared at May silently for a moment or two before she found her voice. "Do you have any clue what you're asking me May? If I enter that Pokémon Contest, your chances of winning it are gonna drop by a lot. I'm a trainer with 2 years experience and with Mega Evolution, while you don't have either. Instead of you winning, it could be me instead". The Twinleaf girl told May with a serious voice, more than okay with sitting this Pokémon Contest and letting May win perhaps the most important one to her.
May kept her excited face as she shook her head at Verity. "I know that, but that's exactly why I want you to enter. I want my victory to be extra special, and there's no better way for that than to beat you in a match". The brunette explained to her senior, holding both hands up in an excited manner. She was determined to get Verity to enter that Contest no matter what, because May felt ready to finally face her.
The Twinleaf girl silently stared at her friend for a few moments, waiting for May to have second thoughts and retract her words. May made no move whatsoever and Verity let out a defeated sign because she knew that her friend wasn't gonna back down no matter what she says.
She lightly shook her head then looked right at May. "Okay, fine. I'll enter the Petalburg Pokémon Contest". Verity declared, much to May's delight at hearing this. "Yay! Thank you so much Verity!" The Petalburg girl thanked her senior, clapping both hands in delight.
"Just know that if you end up losing because of me, you're the one that wanted me to enter". Verity told the brunette with a stern voice, slightly tightening her grip on Piplup though not to the point of squeezing the Water type. "I know. But that doesn't mean I plan to lose!" May shot back at her fellow Pokémon Coordinator, earning a small chuckle from Verity.
"With that settled, our business in Rustboro City is finished". Ash spoke up, uncrossing both arms before turning around completely. "Let's go". He said, before he began walking into the forest, resuming the travel to Petalburg City. Verity, Sorrel and Lucario followed without complaint, while Arven, May, Max, Brock and Jirachi were staring at the Rainbow Hero's back.
"I guess he's really eager to reach Petalburg City to leave right now". May said with a small smile, before taking off after her boyfriend. "What do you expect? He's eager to finally have that battle with Norman and win his fifth badge". Brock remarked, both he and Max following their teammates a mere moment later. Arven spent a few moments staring at the walking away gang before eventually following after them.
With that, their journey back to Petalburg City continues; where Ash's fifth Gym battle awaits and now May and Verity's next Pokémon Contest.
(Ending song: Date a Live: Day to Story)
"This is the tale of a long, long journey…"
"Of a hero who left home to save you".
The screen was pure black, before slowly lighting up to reveal the night sky full of bright stars. The camera started going downwards, eventually showing the back of the kneeling down form of Ash, who was kneeling on a light blue ground. The Rainbow Hero was kneeling down on his left knee, his right resting on the right knee and head tilted down with eyes closed.
The camera zoomed in and shifted around to show the Rainbow Hero slowly opening his eyes to reveal them lightly glowing a rainbow colour with the night sky around him transforming into a sunset sky with clouds. Ash tilted his head up to look out across the sea towards the rising sun in the distance, before his Rainbow Hero wings appeared on his back and spread out fully.
He continued to look out across the distance, before the sunlight from the rising sun soon blinded the camera.
"From a land of fairy tales, a hero set off on a journey".
Ash stood on atop of a hill overlooking his hometown, Pallet Town, still kneeling down in the same position with his wings spread out, head tilted down and eyes closed once more. Pikachu came into view, spun around and then smiled at the camera as he closed in and came over the screen.
"Passing through the grassy plains to find his princess".
Once Pikachu left the screen, it changed to show Ash now in Mount Tensei's summit with the Rainbow Rock a little bit away in the distance, still in the same position. Then, Verity came into view with a wild smile on her face. She stuck her tounge out at the camera as she closed in and came over the screen.
"Overcoming pitch black caves and stormy mountains".
Once Verity left the screen, it changed to show Ash now in the Secret Garden of Alto Mare, still kneeling down in front of the pound where the Soul Dew rested. Bianca then came into view with a soft smile directed at the camera, before closing in and came over the screen.
The screen then changed to show Ash in Forina, down on solid ground and still kneeling down with his head tiled down.
"His sword held high".
The Rainbow Wing then came up from below and came over view in the camera, before disappearing to reveal a patch of grass with a dark background. The camera moved across to the right, eventually showing Ash still in his kneeling down position with his Rainbow Hero wings spread out fully.
"The flames of courage burns in his eyes".
The Rainbow Wing floated down out of nowhere right next to the left side of Ash's face. The Rainbow Hero then opened his rainbow glowing coloured eyes and brought his head up, and then proceeded to stand up fully.
"I'll cast of the clutches of darkness and take your hand in mine".
A familiar right hand, belonging of that of a certain Twinleaf girl, reached out with Ash's left hand reaching out towards it as well. The two hands then gently grabbed hold of one another with a rainbow light appearing in between them. The light grew much stronger and blinded the screen.
"Always with my sword in hand".
The screen changed to show the Rainbow Wing floating down from the night sky full of stars, before images of Ash's traveling companions started to appear one by one. First, it was Misty, who gave a wave with her right hand, then changed to show Brock, who had his arms crossed and smiling at the camera.
"I'll break through the darkness to find you".
May, Max and Jirachi then all appeared together with the oldest Maple sibling having her arms wrapped around her brother's neck from behind, hugging him with a bright smile. Max and Jirachi both had wide smiles with their eyes closed with the former holding his best friend in his arms in a happy embrace.
The Maple siblings and Jirachi disappeared from view, before it changed to show Sorrel and Lucario, standing back to back with one another, both looking at the camera with confident expressions on their faces.
"No matter how hard it is, I won't ever give up".
Then, both Verity and Piplup appeared with the Twinleaf girl having her arms wrapped around her starter's stomach, holding the Water type close. Both Verity and Piplup were giving mischievous looks right at the camera, before they and the Rainbow Wing disappeared from view.
"So come and take my hand".
"The eternal flames of courage (Dead or Alive)".
"Fills the world with light".
Azora and Sylvia then came up into view, facing the camera directly with narrowed eyes. The two flew a little bit away from the camera, before the blue haired girl pointed her right hand forward and gave a command. Sylvia gave out a cry as it unleashed a Fairy Wind attack right at the camera, before the two faded away.
Rainbow coloured flames erupted from below the night sky and burned bright, before briefly covering the camera completely, only to quickly die out to reveal Ash and Verity standing beside one another at a beach a few feet away from the water. And a little bit away were a few grass covered rocks with flowers behind the pair of boyfriend and girlfriend. Ash didn't have his Rainbow Hero wings anymore, but Pikachu was now on his right shoulder, while Verity was still holding Piplup in her arms.
The four were looking out across the distance towards the rising sun as it rose up, brining another day full of adventure for the Pokémon World.
(Pallet Town)
In the back of Professor Oak's lab where he let out all the Pokémon under his care, Azora sat down on the ground with her back against the sleeping Snorlax's right side, holding up Ash's new Sprigatito into the air with both hands and an enlightened face. All the while the Grass Cat Pokémon stared down at Azora with curious face.
Not that long ago Professor Oak had released Sprigatito out of its Poké Ball. All of Ash's other Pokémon introduced themselves to their new teammate with Sprigatito a bit nervous at how many there were. Azora and Sylvia were there for a visit and to play with Ash's Pokémon, so they got to meet Sprigatito right away.
Azora immediately fell in love with Sprigatito and hasn't let go of the Grass type ever since she laid eyes on it. Sylvia decided to leave her trainer alone and enjoy herself with the other Pokémon. Even she needed a break from always watching out for trouble, so she's currently hanging out with Ash's Espeon and Verity's Vaporeon.
Azora let out a happy laugh as she brought Sprigatito into a big hug, being carefully not to make the Grass type uncomfortable. "You're so cute and cuddly! I'm so jealous of Ash right now that he's your trainer and I'm not!" The blue-haired little girl exclaimed with a happy voice, rubbing her right cheek against Sprigatito's left cheek.
The Grass Cat Pokémon gave a nervous smile at Azora. She was a bit cautious of the girl's large love for Pokémon, but didn't reject it since she didn't get any bad vibes from Azora. So, she let Ash's little sister be and continue since there was no real danger.
Little did Sprigatito know is that she'd be a cuddly dog for Azora for a good while until Ash finally called her over to Hoenn.
And with that, another chapter done. Now listen everyone, next one will be the last Pokemon chapter for a while. I was thinking of either doing my Injustice story next, Date a Live or one I haven't done for a while. So many decisions to make. For now, I ask you all to be patient and wait until then.
Until next time.
