It was dark, so dark. The lights would flicker every so often but even then he couldn't get a good idea of his surroundings, always dizzy and disorientated on the brink of being sick as the world span round and round, unfamiliar faces would appear briefly. With a jolt, he'd wake up, drenched in cold sweat, the lingering remnants of the nightmare haunting him.
Glancing up at his clock, it displayed 𝟑:𝟎𝟎 AM.
It was too early, and Midoriya sighed, knowing he wouldn't be able to get back to sleep. He lay there for what felt like an eternity, feeling unsettled and shifting every so often in his bed, unable to shake off the eerie sensations lingering from the nightmare.
Finally giving up on sleep, Midoriya decided to distract himself by scrolling through his phone. But as he swiped through social media and news, the unnerving feeling of being watched continued to gnaw at him. "Must be my imagination playing tricks on me," he muttered, attempting to dismiss the paranoia that was starting to take hold.
As the sky outside began to slowly lighten, Midoriya realized that sleep wasn't going to return to him anytime soon. He sighed and decided to get up for a glass of water to clear his mind. As he stepped into the kitchen, the flickering lights accompanied him there as well. "What's going on with these lights?" he wondered, his curiosity piqued.
Pouring a glass of water, Midoriya heard a soft sound coming from the living room. His heart skipped a beat as he cautiously approached the source of the noise. In the dim light, he caught a glimpse of something moving, but when he turned on the lights, there was nothing there. "I really need to get some rest," he said to himself, trying to shake off the chilling experience.
Throughout the morning, the strange occurrences persisted – the faucet dripped despite being turned off tightly, the floorboards creaked when no one was walking, and Midoriya thought he saw figures moving in his peripheral vision, but when he turned to look, they vanished. The feeling of being watched intensified, and it seemed like every corner of his home held an invisible presence.
By the time Midoriya decided to head out for his morning jog, he was on edge, his nerves fraying with every unexplained event. "Maybe some fresh air will help clear my head," he thought, determined to regain his composure.
" I'm just stressed", he sighed " there are logical explanations I'm just being paranoid, the neighbours are getting their lighting redone so it's just that" he stated aloud satisfied and less jittery.
Midoriya continued his slow pace towards the beach, the rhythmic sound of his own footsteps providing some comfort amid the persistent feeling of being watched. With every step, he tried to convince himself that he was indeed just stressed, and his mind was playing tricks on him.
As he walked along the familiar path, he passed by a group of early risers jogging together, their laughter and cheerful chatter providing a brief respite from his troubled thoughts. "Maybe joining them would help distract me further," he mused, considering the idea of seeking companionship to quell the unease.
But as he approached the group, something compelled him to hesitate. A strange aura seemed to emanate from one of the joggers. Midoriya couldn't quite put his finger on what it was, but it sent shivers down his spine. Deciding against joining them, he continued on his solitary journey to the beach, hoping the open expanse of sand and waves would calm his troubled mind.
Reaching the shoreline, he noticed a faint shimmering light on the water's surface. At first, he dismissed it as a reflection of the moon, but as he gazed more closely, he saw that the light had an ethereal quality, unlike anything he had seen before. "Perhaps it's some sort of bioluminescence," he pondered, attempting to rationalize the phenomenon he encountered.
Sitting down near the water's edge, Midoriya let the gentle waves wash over his feet. The rhythmic pattern of the waves brought some semblance of tranquility, yet the nagging feeling of wrongness persisted. He glanced at his phone, the time now reading 𝟒:𝟏𝟓 AM. "I've been here for a while; I should head back soon mum might get worried if she sees me gone this early, should of left a note hah," he thought, considering that the presence of daylight might alleviate his unease.
With a deep breath, he stood up and turned to leave the beach. But just as he did, he caught a glimpse of a figure standing at a distance, obscured by the darkness. Panic surged through him, and his heart pounded in his chest. "Stay calm, it's probably just another early riser," he whispered to himself, though his voice betrayed a trace of fear.
As Midoriya continued his journey back home, he couldn't shake the feeling of being followed. Each flickering light on the streets seemed to heighten his sense of vulnerability " guess it's not just the neighbours having problems…pull yourself together izuku" he sighed . Despite his best efforts to maintain composure, the nagging feeling at the back of his mind was just a tad too intense.
He arrived home calmer the occurrences fading from his mind, and with a smile he entered and noted that his mother hadn't yet awoken, so he'd make some breakfast for her she was always so busy lately he chuckled he couldn't say anything after all he was always training anyway." Eggs and bacon sound nice" he mumbled getting started on them.
𝟔:𝟎𝟎 AM
As the aroma of sizzling bacon and eggs filled the kitchen, Midoriya felt a brief moment of tranquility. The act of cooking for his hardworking mother was a small comfort amidst his over excited mind that morning. He set the table, laying out the breakfast spread with care, hoping that the familiar routine would provide some respite from the growing unease.
As the clock struck 𝟕:𝟎𝟎 the faint light of dawn began to filter through the windows. Midoriya's mother stirred from her slumber, making her way to the kitchen with a yawn. "Morning, Izuku. You're up early today," she said with a warm smile, appreciating her son's thoughtfulness.
"Good morning, Mum," Midoriya replied, sounding cheerful, the early morning forgotten to him. They sat together, sharing a hearty breakfast and exchanging stories of their respective days ahead.
Finishing he sat for a moment taking in the morning light fully, today was going to be great he could feel it, " oh here mom let me take that" he said smiling as he took the plates, he has time to wash up before he left after all he always pre packed he bag for the day ahead.
Finishing up he glanced out the window, and for a moment, he thought he saw a figure in front of the window, watching the house. Izuku jumped back and the figure vanished as quickly as it appeared."Izuku what's wrong, are you okay" his panicked mother called, " there was someone there out in the window" he breathed, inko walking towards it and sighing " oh sweetie there's no one there I promise….. are you overdoing it, do we have to talk about ua again…..please it isn't healthy if your seeing things, I'm worried" she cried words turning into sobs and worries as everything did in the end.
"No please mum… I promise I'm all right it was just a trick of the light….you know how I am hah"hoping to move on, talking about UA never ended well his mother would cry but so would he….after all it was just a trick of the light he's being silly. After they both got ready and calmed the day started.
8:00 AM
Walking to the train was always nice, a daily task that couldn't be helped to get to school, humming quietly he payed for the ticket and got on. On a usual day it would take up to half and hour, 30 minutes to get from point A to point B. Point B being UA of course, but since there seemed to be an electrical problem around the neighbourhood it might take longer he thought absentmindedly as watched a hero fight on one of the screens as hurriedly jotted notes down.
Minutes later he was sat in his seat staring out the window, when the lights flickered and the train slowed, just as he thought," I'll have to ask what's going on if I see an electric worker, no one else seems to be taking any mind to it so they might know"he muttered, it was worth a try.
There was an old lady on the other side," excuse me miss" he called with no reply, the train had completely stopped now " miss, would you know whats wrong with the lights around here there being a bit weird aren't they" he laughed awkwardly with no response. That was fine he thought as the lights continued to flicked, it was all fine he reassures himself, trying not to look out of the window.
As he sat there, anxiously waiting for the train to move again, the feeling of being watched returned with a vengeance. He felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end, and he couldn't shake off the sensation that someone was staring at him. He turned his head slightly, trying to discreetly scan the other passengers, but all he saw were ordinary commuters, seemingly unfazed by the flickering lights.
Just as he was about to dismiss his unease as mere paranoia, he noticed a man standing at the end of the train car. The man's face was obscured by the shadows, but there was something peculiar about his demeanour – an air of familiarity and a haunting stillness. Midoriya's heart raced as their eyes met for a brief moment before the man turned away.
"Why does he seem so familiar?" Midoriya thought, his mind racing to place where he might have seen that mysterious figure before. But before he could dwell on the thought further, the train jerked back to life, and the lights stabilized. "Finally," he breathed a sigh of relief, attributing the unsettling encounter to his overactive imagination.
He got of the train pretty quickly, quicker than normal anyone watching would assume he very eager to get to school, and upon seeing the uniform, your first thought would be ' I'd be that eager going to school if I went to UA too' then you'd laugh it off…
After walking a few moments midoriya breathed - was he even holding his breath in?-
𝟗:𝟎𝟎 AM
"Crap I'm late" his phone went off with missed messages finally coming through as he panicked and sprinted off
𝐇𝐞𝐲 𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐛𝐫𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐮𝐮𝐮????

And others he glanced his eyes over.
"Sensei's going to be so mad at me." He groaned, running faster barely making it before the gate closed.
Well he definitely missed the gate closing, it was just sheer luck that present Mike was also late and could scan them both in, they shared a brief smile while the 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐨 put his finger up to his lips, a little secret he would be glad to keep, if his friends found out that he had actually missed the gate….they probably would of made fun of him just like they would in Aldera for for the smallest and stupidest things just because he was quirkelss, anger rose with those memory's.
"No no" he sighed, stopping as Mike and him separated, this is UA not Aldera they aren't like that, they never knew I was quirkless….they will never know…who knows what they'll do if they find I'm some fake with a borrowed power.Tears started to form, "please not now I don't have time this".
Rushing to the bathroom as soon as you enter wasn't an entirely uncommon thing, luckily no one was about to see him. He got to the stalls and began leaning against a sink, he needed to calm down it was all better now, no need to cry that was in the past with 𝐤𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧,...𝐤𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧...slowly.
He breathed. In and out, in and out. See he was calming down already with a smile he looked into the mirror, unease sinking in. Great now his over active imagination was hating on the mirrors he groaned ready to leave. Onto more pressing matters…. Like sensei. Ye definitely worse.
Maybe if he prayed sensei would be late, had to do something and wasn't at home room yet, changing his shoes and quickly bounding up the stairs, along the corridor, seeing the sign that hung out above it 1AV next to 2BV he smiled a slight feeling of wrong stirring in his stomach. Opening the door to find sensei was in fact not there yet he breathed a sigh of relief and was greeted with a wave of worry he quickly dismissed and sat down next to his childhood friend 𝐓𝐨𝐫𝐨, giving him a comforting smile.
𝐓𝐨𝐫𝐨 was always there for him, no matter what, he often caught himself staring at his friends hair. It was pink and in a low ponytail it looked so soft.𝐓𝐨𝐫𝐨 giggled a bit that looking at his friend, drat "I said that aloud didn't I?" He put his head on the desk, a blush forming on his face.
"Awe don't worry izuku I like your hair too, it's like a bush a great piece of scenery for inside" he teased just making midoriya absorb more into the desk " though mine is better" he smiled, eyes soft " yeah I agree, but seriously stop calling my hair a bush. I do brush it!" He threw back playfully
"yes I have no doubt you do brush it….once a year"he stated seeing midoriya turn brighter than a tomato.
"Hey midoriya, 𝐓𝐨𝐫𝐨" Uruaka chimed in standing next to them with Iida by her side holding hands"you were pretty late midoriya I hope you have a good excuse, your lucky sensei isn't here yet, but it also discouraging to see a member of the esteemed UA faculty showing such tardiness"
"Oh calm down Iida you sound like an old man, he'll have is reasons what about midoriya"Uruaka chimed in with a joyful smile.
He couldn't tell them why he was actually late, seeing things, having nightmares was so….childish he couldn't be seen to be so pathetic being late because his imagination got a bit too carried away."ermm well you see" he cocked his head nervously " I…..overslept and the train had a bit of a delay, my bad won't happen again" he stated confidently, at least part of it was true, the train was delayed but he didn't actually know how long for, if he had stopped getting so spooked for no reason ge would of probably made it.
"Oh in that case you really need to keep better track of the time,I can help you set up some alarms at break if that's what you need"Iida said relieved his friend was intentionally truanting."yeah I'll come along too, don't you worry Midoriya" Ochako slipped in
"Why not I guess I'll join you guys" said 𝐓𝐨𝐫𝐨 calmly." oh thank you guys really "they continued to chat about the day midoriya zoning of somewhere for a bit, see his friends were 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 and everything was 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞. He sighed finally being able to breathe with no sense of unease.
Heading back to their respected seating but continued to chat amongst each other and a few minutes later their homeroom teacher entered throwing an apology for his lateness. This was a man who midoriya fiercely looked up to, the man that gave him 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞, that made him the ninth holder of one for all.He entered in his 𝐬𝐮𝐢𝐭, standing 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥, big 𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞 and 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞 hair.
"Welcome to today's homeroom, my students, let's begin"-
