Chapter fourteen:

Frisk lets out a breath and heads towards where Asgore went. She can do this... Right? She pauses as she stops behind the king who has his back turned to her.

"So you have decided." Asgore sighs heavily with regret. "There is no turning back now." He spins around ready to fight as Frisk gets ready to defend herself.

...

"I will help." Sans decides before any of the others are able to decide for themselves. His agreement helps the others to be able to decide for themselves.

"I'll help too." Papyrus is the first to speak after Sans.

"Me too."

"S-Same."

Once they've all agreed to help out with this Toriel smiles happily.

"Thank you so much." Toriel mentions happily that they have all agreed to help. "Let us go before something happens."

They all rush inside of the castle trying to get to the throne room. They hope that they aren't too late. They find the throne room empty and hear what sounds like fighting in the direction of the barrier.

Toriel gasps at this rushing in that direction as the head of the group.

They look inside finding Asgore attacking Frisk looking regretful though like he is forcing himself to continue.

"You don't have to do this!" Frisk tries to plead with him trying to hide how scared she is. She has to dodge another attack that is sent her way. She lands and gasps not having time to dodge another attack coming for her.

Toriel quickly throws a ball of fire at the attack knocking it away.

Asgore freezes and stares in shock that this happened.

Toriel moves over towards him as Asgore then Firsk look in shock at her. "Stop this!" She has her eyes narrowed sternly at her former husband.

Undyne moves forward next. "Yeah! Frisk here doesn't deserve this! There has to be another way!"

Alphys peeks out from behind Undyne. "Y-Yes. This d-doesn't need to h-happen." She squeaks in fear that she just spoke up against the king.

Papyrus lets Sans stand by himself. "Your fluffiness! You don't want to do this! We all know that! So don't! Do the right thing!"

Sans also comes forward. "You don't actually have a bone to pick with her." He chuckles a little at his joke; even though he gets a momentary disapproving look from Papyrus for it.

Asgore looks over them all then his gaze turns to settle upon Frisk. He puts away his weapon after a moment of consideration. "I don't want to do this." He looks to Toriel again. "Torrie." He starts and flinches when Toriel tells him angrily to not call her that. "I was so worried. I wanted to know where you were all this time. I wanted to know that you were alive and safe."

"Sure you did." Toriel doesn't seem to believe him. "But those words can be worried about later." She is about to continue when a chuckle interrupts them all.

Suddenly the monsters in that spot are grabbed by vines as Frisk calls out in worried horror.

Frisk tenses ready to help them out of there. She pauses as another laugh is heard.

Flowey pops out of the ground with the biggest grin on his face. "We meet again." He chuckles sounding quite proud of himself. "I gotta thank you Frisk. It's because of you distracting the king that I was able to get ahold of the human souls." His words make Frisk gasp before looking like she feels stupid for having let it happen. "I like playing this game with you. And you know that I'll do everything I have to in order to keep playing our little game." He smirks at Frisk. "I'll kill you 100 thousand times if I have to in order to make you see that."

Frisk isn't so sure that she likes the sound of that. She can also swear that he feels more powerful than before.

"Come on kid." Sans speaks up sounding like he's straining a little. "Don't let this pipsqueak flower beat you. You got the guts to take him down."

"He is no match for you human! I believe in you!" Papyrus adds with his happy tone.

"I always knew you were special." Toriel also lets Frisk know. "You can win this."

"You're tougher than you think! Beat him to a pulp!" Undyne calls out as well.

"Y-You can do i-it." Alphys chimes in.

"We are counting on you. You've made a difference to so many monsters it seems. Surely this can't stop you."

"Shut up!" Flowey shouts at them. "Now! I will turn to my ultimate form!" He laughs as he absorbs the monsters making them vanish.

Frisk covers her face when there is a bright flash. She lowers her hands when it's gone only to gasp at what Flowey has become.

A stripped shirt wearing white goat child. "Hi Chara. Remember me? I am Asriel Dreemurr. You'll play with me forever. I know you will." He raises his arms absorbing a bunch of white souls that feel familiar to Frisk. He lets out another flash of light and he turns into a larger floating goat monster. He almost looks like some kind of demon now rather than a monster. He has so much power that colors of light make a background for him. "I'll make you see the truth!"

Frisk feels like the end is here. Her heart is pounding wildly in her chest. She doesn't want to do this. She swallows back her terror and tells herself that she has to. She lead them into this mess by falling into Floweys plan. She has to get them out of it. She shifts her stance as ready as she'll ever be to fight this thing Asriel has become. She feels another who is hovering close by her. She swears it feels like whoever it is happens to be sending out pleading energy for her to save Asriel. She silently tells the other by her that she'll do her best.

Asriel chuckles looking to have gone mad with power now. "Time for you to face my full power!"

"You don't have to do this!" Frisk tries to plead with Asriel though it appears her cries go unheard. She runs to dodge as his first few attacks come flying towards her. She already knew that this was going to be her hardest fight yet, and the attacks are so far proving her to be right. She has to keep dodging as attack after attack is sent her way. She is panting by the time it's her turn which gives her a momentary break.

Asriel continues to float around clearly not concerned about anything that she can throw at him.

Frisk looks to the monster before her. Her ultimate enemy to defeat. She doesn't doubt that any of her attacks will do nothing to him. She should try to find a way to weaken him first. She is hoping that she can get him to surrender the souls he has absorbed. She chooses mercy instead of any attacks. "Please." She tries to plead with him. "Do you really think this is what I want? I don't want to have to hurt you. Let all the monsters go."

"Fool." Asriel spits out before sending another flurry of attacks her way.

Frisk tries to run to dodge though the last bit of attacks she's already exhausted. She trips and gasps as an attack hits her leg. She looks back and though she's bleeding she was lucky it was just a scratch.

"Fight me!" Asriel challenges with a roar. His hands up with palms facing up. "Show me what you're capable of!" He lowers his hands to his sides after that as he just continues to float around.

Frisk takes a moment to catch her breath and get up after she was hurt. She stares at Asriel trying to figure out how she's going to get through to him. She doesn't have much options. She wishes that the others were here to help. She blinks sadly at Asriel who looks unaffected by her look. She wants some advice from one of her friends. She needs their help. She blinks in shock as she feels her soul tug towards Asriel. She swears that it's like something familiar is pulling her towards it. She feels a resolve in her soul and she lets it reach out towards Asriel. She hurries over to get closer to make it happen faster.

Asriel laughs at seeing Frisk charge towards him. "Your attacks can't do anything to a God!" He tells her very smugly.

Frisk doesn't reply. She keeps getting closer and closer. Her focus remaining on reaching out to what is trying to tug her soul closer. She reaches for Asriel pleading for some kind of help from someone. "I'm here!" She whispers to whoever is calling to her. She finds a flash of white comes from Asriel, with the last thing she sees being her hand reaching towards him. She can only see white for a minute making her wonder if she was killed by him. She thinks that surely she hasn't since usually things go black when she does.

After a few moments the white fades away.

Frisk has to let her eyes adjust from having seen that light. She thinks that she can see a figure in front of her that doesn't look like Asriel. She just has to let her eyes adjust before she can know who. Her eyes adjust fully after a few moments leaving her to see the figure before in this black room. She also gasps upon seeing some white scribbles covering his eyes; and this heavy sad feeling hangs in the air making her heart ache for the one in front of her.

Papyrus!
