I love missing scenes. This one is a little drabble I wrote that takes place after Janeway and Chakotay have dinner together in the beginning of the episode Timeless (5x06). Enjoy!

The vegetable biryani had been perfect. That was probably due less to culinary skill and more to the company. Now the evening was over, all too soon.
He stood.
I'll see you tomorrow for the flight.
She didn't respond.
What's wrong?
It's a dangerous mission – untested technology, and you'll be out there in a little shuttle. Just be careful.
I will.
She gazed up into his eyes for a moment. Then, placing her hands on his broad chest, she leaned in and kissed him gently.
He smiled.
I will come back to you. I promise.
