This is just a silly story I wrote based on a tweet and that I'm translating to practice writing in english. English is not my first language, so I apologize for any mistakes!

Of all the tasks they could have accepted, this was the most unusual ─ that is, if her mind wasn't playing tricks on her and this was all just one big, bizarre lucid dream. To be fair to him, they didn't have enough time to process what they were told, and with a laser gun pointed at their heads, she couldn't blame him in any way for the grey-haired man response ─ luckily, it was this response that allowed them to return to the TARDIS alive.
Still, it was strange to imagine them in this situation. The brunette laughed at the Time Lord inability to deal with their little problem; on the other hand, the man's expressions changed very quickly ─ a mixture of apprehension and surprise with a curious glint in his eye, a sight that the young woman quite enjoyed observing.
Everything was going so well that Clara could take the afternoon to rest and relax ─ something she hadn't done in a long time. She could, of course, but when it came to the Doctor, it was impossible to close her eyes and not worry about whatever was going on around her. Walking to a quieter, more secluded room, she was determined to at least take a nap while she didn't hear her name being shouted by the man.
However, it wasn't long before she heard hurried footsteps down the hallway, followed by several "Clara!" shouted at the top of her lungs.
"I lost it!" he complained, before even entering the room; the desperation in his voice was evident.
"Lost what?" she asked calmly and slowly, because, knowing him as she did, she knew how distracted he was and how often he didn't see things, even those that were a palm's width away from his face.
"The thing, Clara!" she could hear the sound of his hands slapping his face hard. "I lost the thing!"
Whatever this "thing" was, it must have been something serious ─ after all, she didn't remember seeing him so distressed before. It was only then that she turned to face him from where he was leaning against the door ─ his eyes shining as he found the small bundle in his arms.
"Thank heavens!" A long, heavy sigh was heard. "They was with you."
"Wait a minute," her tone of voice was higher than usual. "Doctor, were you talking about the baby?"
"Yes, what did you think it would be?"
For a moment ─ a brief moment ─ she felt like punching him until he regenerated. But it took a few seconds for his anger to dissipate ─ all he had to do was look at that confused look of someone who was genuinely concerned and everything would disappear. Was he an idiot? Of course he was, but it was her idiot ─ and that made all the difference.
