The Selkath led the Jedi down to a small metallic stairway, which ended at a small dock with a few submarines present.

(This is where we will descend down to the Ocean cities.) The Leader explained. (To which, we will travel by Submersible.)

"I don't suppose we could just swim?" Obi Wan asked.

(No, Safer this way.") said the Leader, as he and two of his men entered the first Sub.

The Jedi followed in boarding the other subs, Anakin and Obi Wan took the Second, While Carrie and Plo boarded the third.

Soon the three sub descended down into the depths of the sea. Carrie couldn't help but stare at the beautuful scene at lay before them, exotic sea fauna danced around them as they approached a shadowy structure up ahead. Flood doors opened as the subs entered and allowed their passengers to disembark.

(Welcome to the Hrakert Rift.) said the Leader, gesturing to the sight before them. It was a whole settlement of Selkath, all made aware of the arrival of the Jedi, who they quickly regarded with either awe, suspicion or sharp glares.

"A most hospitable welcome." mused Obi Wan.

"So what's the trouble?" Anakin asked.

(We have not had contact with the Outside Galaxy for centuries.) the Selkath leader explained, as they ventured deep into the base. (The Galaxy changed and we could not, with no way to make Kolto viable, we returned to our roots in the Sea.)

"Then what are you people doing in this abandoned facility?" Plo Koon asked.

(We have many underwater cities.) The leader went on. (But this base was the closest thing in which we could take refuge and preserve our people.)

"Refuge from what?" Obi Wan asked. "What's happening?"

"I can explain that." said a voice in Basic, stepping forward was an elderly looking Selkath, who seemed well built for his age and was armed with a curious looking sword.

"You speak Basic." Carrie said surprised.

"Yes, All Selkath are capable, young one." the Stranger noted. "And we don't need to address guests in our Native Language, Kaltan."

The Selkath Leader, Kaltan, just looked deadpanned. "We can, if we want, Cultist." He sneered.

The other Selkath just curtly nodded, before addressing the Jedi. "I am Naggas, A Master of the Order of Sasha."

"Ah, We've heard of your order." Master Plo replied. "A group of force sensitives, not too dissimilar to our own."

"Perhaps Jedi, perhaps." Naggas replied. "But if you are to understand what has happened here on Manaan, It's only best if we start at the beginning.

Flashback.

Naggas: It all started back when a small group of Scientists from different tribes came together. They were trying to enhance Kolto, to try and make it an equal rival to Bacta and therefore more viable.

But something went wrong, terribly wrong. The Kolto became corrupted, somehow, instead of healing wounds, it became an infectious poison. Driving Selkath to acts of primordial violence, killing and scaring anything that got in their way, and spreading the virus to the victims themselves.``

Flashback ends.

The Jedi listened to this story with mixed reactions, Carrie was horrified, Anakin was dubious and Obi Wan and Plo were in surprise.

"Is there a possible antidote for this?" Kenobi asked.

"Our Scientists have confiscated as much of the mutated Bacta as we could." Said Naggas. "But the results and research into it have been slim…"

"How exactly?" Anakin asked.

"You might want to see for yourself." Kaltan said.

And so they led the Jedi to a room, where they found several scientists studying Selkaths who were strapped to tables, being examined, as they violently writhed and struggled to free themselves from their restraints.

The Jedi were shocked by what they saw, especially Carrie.

"And these are just the ones that we haven't put down." said Kaltan somberly.

"It's been getting worse and we've yet to determine anything." added Naggas. "The Order of Shasa has been monitoring the situation in the other cities, and we've evacuated most of the population here."

"But then why keep the infected here in the same facility?" Obi Wan asked incredulously. "If this disease is as dangerous as you say, then keeping them here is an accident waiting to happen!"

"We've taken precautions for that." Naggas reassured.

"Is there any way we can help?" Carrie asked.

Naggas thought for a moment, before answering. "We… would have to inquire with the rest of the order first, then see what can be done?"

"And where are the rest of the order?" Obi Wan asked. "Are they here?"

"No." Naggas shook his head. "I am the only member stationed here."

"Then we must-" Plo Koon was cut off by an alarm going off instantly, The infected Selkath began screeching even more.

"Oh no, another attack!" Kaltan panicked as he fled the room, leaving the Force Sensitives to clutch their heads as an invisible echo bombarded their senses.

Meanwhile,

Kaltan made his way to an observation deck and met with the crew. "What's happening?!"

"We've got another attack on our hands sir!" said one of the Selkath as the monitors displayed a whole rapid hoard of Selkath coming towards them.

"Oh Karabast." Kaltan said in horror. "Prepare all defenses!"

Meanwhile,

Back in the Lab, The Jedi and Naggas managed to regain their bearings long enough to realize that the quarantined Selkath were starting to break free.

"Get out of here, now!" Obi Wan said to the Scientists, as they began to flee, once the Remaining Selkath were out, The Jedi all whipped out their Lightsabers and Naggas took up his strange sword.

"What are we supposed to do now?!" Asked Anakin.

"You're about to find out,Padawan." Said Master Koon, as the infected Selkath broke loose.
