Chapter 6 - The Sting Operation

As the first rays of sunlight slowly filtered into the cavern, Ashi stirred from her slumber. Her body responded to the natural cues of morning, stretching and shifting on the rough cave floor. The soft glow of daylight illuminated the interior, casting warm hues onto the walls and creating shadows that danced and flickered.

Ashi's neck ached from sleeping on the hard ground, a reminder of the restless night she had spent tending to her injured companions. The Galar Monarch and his companion lay nearby, their shallow breaths and pallid skin evidence of their ongoing battle with the venomous Beedrills. But thanks to Ashi's quick thinking and medical skills, they had survived. Though still weak and in need of continued treatment, Ashi knew they would make it through.

She reached for two spare handkerchiefs and gently began to dab at their sweaty foreheads. "Hang in there," she murmured soothingly as she brushed back their hair. The violet-haired monarch stirred and furrowed his brow at her touch. "Ashi..." he groaned softly, but she continued to tend to him with care. "Just rest," she shushed him, watching as he relaxed and fell back asleep against her jacket, which she had used as a makeshift pillow for him.

With gentle hands, Ashi repeated the same process with Raihan, who also seemed to be restless in his sleep. Both trainers were unlikely to wake up until later in the day, but Ashi knew they would heal faster if she could give them the anti-venom currently stored in her bag.

Sora and Aratiri approached quietly, exhaustion evident on their faces but relief shining in their eyes as they saw that their friends were still alive. Throughout the night, the two Pokemon had taken turns keeping watch outside the cave. Sora placed a reassuring paw on his trainer's leg and spoke up first, "Will they be okay?"

Ashi sighed, feeling guilty for not being able to do more for them without her supplies to aid in their recovery. "They'll be fine...if only I had my pack with me. But I need to check and see if I can find the others too." She turned to survey the sleeping trainers and realized she couldn't leave them vulnerable like this. Sora stood up and reassured her, "Leave it to me, I'll keep watch over them."

"Pika Pi!" Aratiri chimed in, eager to help as well. Ashi smiled gratefully at them. "Okay, but make sure you also get some rest. You both look exhausted." Sora quirked a playful smile at her comment, "Look who's talking, you're the one with Zigzagoon peepers!"

Ashi chuckled before getting up and heading towards the cave entrance. She scanned the area for any signs of danger, relieved to see that it was clear. With cautious steps, she made her way back to their campsite, only to find it ransacked and their belongings missing. It seemed the Beedrills had taken everything when they retreated back to their nest.

Ashi's determination was evident in the firm set of her jaw as she crouched near the site, taking in her surroundings with heightened senses. The lush, earthy scent of the forest enveloped her, but she focused on one particular smell - the distinct aroma of Pokemon that should have been scattered around due to their large numbers. With closed eyes and intense concentration, Ashi honed in on the faint but unmistakable scent, leading her westward from their current location.

As she ran in pursuit, Ashi channeled her mana to enhance her speed and agility, determined to catch up to the elusive creatures. It took some time, but she finally stumbled upon their nesting spot. Crouching low to avoid detection, she peered through the dense foliage at their nest.

She noticed a towering tree trunk adorned with Kakunas, clinging to it like living decorations. Above them, Beedrills slumbered while keeping watch over their cocooned brethren. And at the base of the tree lay all of their stolen belongings, waiting to be retrieved by their rightful owners. The scene was both fascinating and infuriating for Ashi as she strategized her next move.

"So they did bring our stuff here..." Ashi remarked aloud before turning and nearly jumping out of her skin when she saw her brother standing next to her. Despite her heightened awareness, she had failed to sense him approaching until he was right next to her. Relief washed over Ashi as she embraced Toshi, grateful to see him safe and sound.

"Toshi! I'm so relieved you're safe," Ashi exclaimed, her initial smile fading into a puzzled frown as she took in his appearance. "I'm glad to see you, but what on earth are you wearing?" She couldn't help but notice his vibrant Ponyta graphic tee from a popular cartoon and the red, dread-like mop atop his head. The unusual attire partially masked his scent, explaining why she hadn't smelled him earlier, but she still questioned his bizarre ensemble.

Toshi chuckled sheepishly, scratching the back of his head. "Ah, well, it's a long story. Apparently, the Beedrills have a vendetta against Misty for whacking one of their own. Although she's somewhat to blame, they've taken my Metapod hostage and demanded we bring her to their nest. I thought it'd be better if I went instead to retrieve Metapod myself."

He knew Misty would be surprised to find her clothes scattered about, but this shirt was the only one large enough for him. The others were too tight or mainly bikinis, which he refused to wear. He had found the partial red mop nearby and decided to use it as an improvised wig, hoping it would fool the Pokemon long enough for him to sneak in and rescue Metapod. Now that they were within the hive's main territory, Toshi was unsure of their next move, realizing he had impulsively followed his gut without a clear plan.

Ashi stared at him incredulously, assessing their situation before surveying their surroundings once more. Toshi by her side also taking a Quick look over there while asking, "So, what's our plan here?"

Toshi could see Ashi's mind working as she plotted how to retrieve their belongings without alerting the guard Beedrills perched in the tree, still sleeping but bound to wake soon. If only they could walk in unseen, Inteleon would have been a valuable asset. Suddenly, a childhood memory resurfaced, and Ashi turned to her brother, eyes gleaming with determination.

"Toshi, I need you to release both your Charmander and Pidgeotto," she said urgently. Toshi, sensing his sister had a plan, quickly let out his Pokemon from their capsules.

"Alright, here's what you're gonna do," Ashi explained. She instructed Toshi to have his fire-type create a thick smokescreen while Pidgeotto fanned the smoke to conceal their location. This would provide ample cover for Ashi to rescue her brother's Pokemon and grab her bag containing the first aid kit.

With calculated precision, Toshi and his Charmander worked together to produce billowing clouds of smoke. Pidgeotto flapped its wings fiercely, determined to keep the smoke from dissipating too soon. Toshi continued to create the smokescreen until Ashi signaled for him to stop.

"Okay sis, I think it's looking good," Toshi called out with a hint of pride in his voice. He turned to see Ashi approaching the tree where she had spotted the brilliant green shell of a sleeping cocoon bug at the base, surrounded by Kakunas still slumbering.

"Hey Metapod, it's great to see you again," Ashi greeted the bug Pokemon with warmth and familiarity. Metapod recognized her as its trainer's sister and allowed her to gently pick it up. As she reached for her bag, she made a mental note to retrieve their other belongings after she returned Metapod to Toshi.

But before she could leave, a sudden gust of wind blew away their carefully crafted smokescreen and two grating voices pierced through the air.

(Don't these Jokers have anything better to do than to keep on bothering us?!) They really pick the worst time to show! Ashi clenched her jaw, feeling the urge to give these pesky individuals a taste of her Dragon's Iron Fists. She could imagine that Toshi was thinking the same thing and wasn't that far off actually.

As Ashi disappeared into the thick smog, Toshi watched her go with confidence that she would return unscathed. He held onto hope that their plan would be successful and they could escape without any further trouble—

But fate seemed to have other ideas as something suddenly landed heavily on top of Toshi's head, causing him to let out a yelp of surprise. A familiar voice followed suit, growling out a question. "Do you know what Meowth's favorite game is?"

Toshi felt his frustration rising as he couldn't resist responding with a snarky remark. "Is it catch the annoying Meowth by the toe and see how fast he can fly?"

The feline Pokemon scowled before unsheathing its sharp claws, prompting Toshi to quickly dodge out of the way. As he did so, Meowth couldn't resist making his own pun, "Scratch and Sniffle!"

Feeling relieved that he had avoided being attacked, but his sense of calm was short-lived as he suddenly heard more voices around him, causing him to think with exasperation, (This is definitely not my day.)

A new voice chimed in playfully, "Guess who!" Toshi let out a tired sigh, realizing that his already chaotic situation was only getting worse now that Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum showed up. "Prepare for trouble!/And make it double!"

"Shut up you dolts!" Toshi yelled in frustration as Team Rocket made their grand entrance, striking their iconic poses. Jessie smirked, adjusting her hair with a dramatic flair.

"To protect the world from devastation!" James followed suit, posing gallantly with his trusty rose in hand. "To unite all peoples within our nation!" The duo continued their rehearsed lines, seamlessly playing their part in the villainous charade.

Toshi rolled his eyes at their theatrics, recognizing that this was the last thing they needed right now. (Don't these morons realize now's not the time to jabber on like this?!) He glanced around frantically, searching for any sign of Ashi's return. "Keep it down will ya!" But the duo were still lost in their evil dilague and ignoring him as if he wasn't there.

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!/To extend our reach to the stars above!"

Toshi let out an exasperated groan, frustration evident in the way he muttered to himself. "I might as well be talking to a brick wall here," he grumbled. His Pokemon stood by his side, nodding in agreement with their trainer's sentiments. They too seemed to sense the futility of the situation and shared Toshi's feelings of annoyance. Despite their efforts, it seemed like their words were falling on deaf ears.

"Jessie!/James!" They announce with a extravagant flourish as if they were expecting applause from him but Toshi decides since those two were so keen on keeping this up, he silently hand signals his Charmander and Pidgeotto to 'let's vamoose and leave these dummies to their fate before the Beedrills finds us' and them sneaking away altogether since he was sure things were about to get ugly here. Meowth wasn't paying any attention to them as he was waiting for his immediate cue.

Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!/Surrender now, or prepare to fight!

"Meowth! That's right!" Suddenly, a deafening explosion erupted from the nearby bushes before them, jolting the previously slumbering Beedrills from their rest. With furious buzzing and clicking, they emerged from their nest to investigate the source of the disturbance.

Ashi's senses kicked in as she saw the swarm of Beedrills coming out now alert and ticked off, again cursing those idiots for having no lick of sense to know what they're doing.

(Much as I would love to give them a good kick in the head, now's not the time!) She quickly scanned the area for cover and spotted a large boulder nearby. With a quick motion, she darted towards the boulder, Metapod safely cradled in her arms. Toshi, still dealing with Team Rocket's interruption, saw Ashi's decisive move and knew he had to act fast. He recalled Charmander and Pidgeotto back into their Pokeballs before sprinting after his sister.

Toshi was already on the move, seeing the Beedrills also doing the same when they spot the humans and Pokemon within their turf and saw to go engage into action.

The young Dragonslayer moved with lightning speed, agilely darting past the Beedrills as if he was stealing third base. He flopped onto his belly, desperately dodging their sharp stingers as they flew by his head. The wind from their wings created a deafening roar and a gust of hot air that singed his skin. But thankfully he manage to get by them without any trouble.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket had also noticed the approaching threat and tried to flee, but it was too late. The Beedrills were hot on their trail, drawn to the commotion caused by their idiocy. Toshi manage to get back up and while not sticking to watch the comical attempt though did think it was definitely Karma biting them in the butt.

(I did try to warn them but at least they prove to be helpful in some way somehow,)Toshi couldn't help but feel fortunate for Team Rocket's unwitting assistance. Their presence had inadvertently diverted the swarm's attention away from Ashi and himself, giving them a chance to regroup and come up with a plan.

He almost felt sorry for them, keyword almost but that was on them. Let this be a fair lesson in the future, although hard to say if that will ever stick with those fools.

Toshi approached the massive boulder where Ashi stood, still cradling his Metapod protectively. His heart was thrumming with fear and relief as he saw that they were both unharmed. He took the Metapod into his arms and embraced him tightly, apologizing profusely for putting him in danger. "I'm sorry, my friend," Toshi murmured, tears prickling at the corners of his eyes. "I never meant for this to happen. Please forgive me for my incompetence."

"Meta Metapod." Metapod nuzzled Toshi's cheek in a reassuring manner, understanding the sincerity in his trainer's voice. Ashi placed a gentle hand on Toshi's shoulder, offering him a supportive smile before turning her attention back to their surroundings. The Beedrills were still buzzing angrily, their sharp cries piercing the air as they searched for the source of their irritation. The two siblings knew they couldn't stay here any longer, as the angry swarm could come after them at any moment.

"We need to get out of here and fast," Ashi said calmly, her voice betraying none of the chaos around them. Toshi nodded in agreement, wiping away his tears and steeling himself for whatever came next. Sooner or later the Beedrills would return and they needed to scat before that happened. With hurried steps, they left the nest behind and followed Ashi towards an unknown destination.

"C'mon we have to hurry," Ashi urged, her pace quickening as she led them through the twisting forest path. But then they heard a familiar buzzing sound and turned to see one of the sentries had spotted them and was heading their way. Magikarp! That was just their luck!

The Beedrill's buzzing grew louder as they zeroed in on Ashi and Toshi, their stingers glinting ominously in the sunlight. The siblings quickened their pace, their hearts pounding in unison as they raced against time to evade the angry swarm. Toshi could feel the adrenaline coursing through his veins, his mind laser-focused on finding a way out of this dangerous predicament.

Ashi saw a narrow path that led into the dense undergrowth, a potential escape route from the approaching guard. "This way hurry!"

Without hesitation, they sprinted towards the concealed path, their hearts pounding in their chests as they raced against time. The sound of the Beedrills' wings grew louder behind them, urging them to move faster. Toshi clutched Metapod tightly to his chest, feeling the Pokémon's shell digging into his skin as they ran.

As they reached the entrance of the tapered path, Ashi skidded to a halt and turned back to face the guard who was now mere feet away. With a determined expression, she reach into her pocket and pulled out one of her Pokeball. Toshi sensing her stopping turning to ask what she was doing. "Sis c'mon we need to keep going!" But seeing his sister's expression indicated she was prepared to face the guard head-on and would buy him some time to get away.

"Toshi take Metapod and get out of here, I'll hold it off." She then toss her bag to him with the medicine inside, "The cave where Leon and Raihan are, it's not far so you gotta hurry and give them the anti-venom but be quick!"

"But—!" Toshi saw as Ashi move to enlarge the Pokeball and threw it out shouting, "Masamune c'mon I need your help!"

With a fierce battle cry, the scarred Scyther emerged, ready to defend Ashi and her comrades from the approaching Beedrill sentry. Toshi, seeing her actions and understanding the urgency of their friends' situation, knew his sister had entrusted him with a heavy task.

"You better get out of this okay, sis! Otherwise, I'm coming back to drag you away myself!" he shouted before taking off with her bag over his shoulder, running as fast as he could with his burden.

Ashi smiled, thinking, (Don't worry, I have no intention of losing. After all, I'm not a Dragonslayer for nothing!)

The Beedrill, sensing the threat posed by the Scyther, descended upon them with a ferocious buzz. But Ashi and her Pokémon were prepared, with Masamune's blades ready to strike back at his foe.

"Masamune, use Sword Dance and prepare for an X-Scissor attack!" Ashi ordered, her voice unwavering as she strategized their next moves. Masamune swiftly danced with blinding speed, raising his slashing power to its peak before lunging towards the Beedrill with a powerful X-Scissor attack.

The clash between Scyther and Beedrill was fierce and intense, each Pokémon pushing their limits to gain the upper hand. Ashi watched with bated breath, knowing that this battle was not just about defeating an opponent but protecting her brother and friends.

Masamune moved with elegant grace, his scythes slicing through the air in a deadly dance. The Beedrill retaliated with swift stings from their toxic needles, each strike bringing them closer to the other. The air was filled with the sound of clashing blades and buzzing wings as the battle raged on.

Ashi hoped this would give her brother enough time to escape and reach Leon and Raihan, who were waiting for them.

Toshi raced through the dense forest, his heart pounding in sync with his footsteps. Metapod clung tightly to his trainer's chest, feeling the echoes of Toshi's heartbeat against his ear. A whirlwind of emotions surged through Toshi as he dodged branches and leaped over rocks: fear for his sister's safety, determination to reach Leon and Raihan in time, and pride in Ashi's unwavering courage.

"Don't worry, sis has everything under control!" Toshi repeated the mantra to himself, drawing strength from the words. The urgency of the situation propelled him forward, the responsibility of delivering the antidote weighing heavily on his shoulders. He channeled his mana, using it to boost his speed and hasten his journey to their waiting friends.

Meanwhile, back at the battleground, Ashi and Masamune engaged in a deadly dance with the Beedrill. Each movement was a calculated risk, a tactical decision with the power to shift the tide of battle. Ashi's eyes narrowed in focus, analyzing the Beedrill's patterns and seeking an exploitable weakness.

The forest resonated with the sounds of combat, the rustling leaves and chirping Pokemon providing a backdrop to the intense showdown. Ashi's heart raced, every fiber of her being attuned to the fight. Failure was not an option, not with so much at stake.

Masamune's strikes were precise, but the agile Beedrill managed to evade some attacks while sustaining damage from others. As the battle wore on, Ashi felt the pressure of time slipping away.

In a sudden turn of events, Masamune seized an opportunity and landed a critical blow, causing the Beedrill to falter. Ashi capitalized on the opening and shouted, "Masamune, finish it with a Fury Cutter!"

The Fury Cutter attack sliced through the Pin Missiles with unparalleled speed and precision, its force knocking the Beedrill to the ground. Masamune stood poised over the fallen foe, ready to deliver the final strike, but Ashi's voice cut through the tension. "That's enough!"

Ashi knelt beside the defeated Beedrill, her gaze softening with empathy. "You fought bravely," she said, gently stroking its antennae. "There's no need to continue this battle." The Beedrill stirred, its compound eyes meeting Ashi's with a mix of wariness and understanding. Chirping weakly, it spread its wings and flew off into the forest canopy.

Relief washed over Ashi, but a familiar cry made her eyes widen in alarm. "Oh no, Toshi!"

Toshi ran towards where Ashi had directed him, but a Beedrill was hot on his heels. As he tried to dodge its strike, his foot snagged on a root, and he fell forward. "Ack!" he cried out, struggling to get up and locate his fallen Pokémon. "Metapod, are you okay?!"

The cocoon had cushioned its fall, but Metapod's eyes focused on the Beedrill heading straight for Toshi. With the sharp stingers aimed at his trainer's back, Metapod couldn't stand by and let him get hurt.

As the Beedrill closed in, Metapod moved to block the strike. A loud crack echoed through the air, followed by a blinding light. Toshi's heart stopped, unable to comprehend what had just happened. The Beedrill's stingers shattered upon impact with Metapod's hardened shell, sending shockwaves through the air.

Metapod's body glowed brightly, cracks forming along its surface as a brilliant radiance enveloped it. The cocoon shook and trembled, pieces of hardened shell falling away to reveal a new form emerging from within. Toshi watched in awe as Metapod transformed into a magnificent Butterfree, its wings shimmering with iridescent colors.

The Butterfree fluttered about, getting used to its new wings and crying out joyously, "Free! Free!"

Despite his amazement at the sight of his newly evolved Pokémon, Toshi knew he couldn't be distracted. The Beedrill had regained its composure and looked ready to retaliate. "Butterfree, do you think you can handle this?" he asked, ready to face the challenge ahead.

He wasn't sure if his Pokemon was able but seeing his Pokemon now hovering next to him and indicating it was rearing to go, "Free Free!" Toshi taking it to mean, 'Heck yeah bring it!'

"Alright then bud let's do this!" Turning to the Beedrill and giving it a look that said 'you're going down!'

"Dammit, what is he thinking, running off like that!" Misty yelled as she and Kaito searched for Toshi. They had woken up to find a note from him, stating that he was taking matters into his own hands. To make matters worse, one of Misty's sleep shirts was missing, and a broken mop lay near the note. Kaito guessed what Toshi was up to, unsure if it was a brave or stupid thing to do. Nonetheless, they grabbed Toshi's old fishing net to use as a barrier and rushed towards the Beedrill's hive. "We have to hurry; there's no telling what they might do!"

As they reached the halfway point, they found Toshi facing off against a Beedrill. What really caught their attention, however, was the Butterfree beside the trainer. "Wait, you don't suppose that's—"

"Yes, I believe his Metapod evolved and is now ready to battle for his trainer's honor!" Misty and Kaito watched in astonishment as the newly evolved Butterfree hovered gracefully beside Toshi. The air crackled with anticipation as the Beedrill faced the radiant butterfly Pokémon, its wings glowing in the dappled sunlight filtering through the forest canopy. Toshi's determination shone in his eyes as he locked gazes with the Beedrill, knowing that this battle was not just about defeating an opponent but protecting those he cared about. With Butterfree by his side, he felt a newfound sense of confidence.

"Let's show them what we're made of, Butterfree!" Toshi called out, his voice steady and resolute. Butterfree chirped in response, ready to fight alongside its trainer.

The Beedrill buzzed angrily, sensing the shift in power with Butterfree's evolution, yet believing it was no match for them. It lunged forward, its stingers gleaming menacingly, but Butterfree showed no fear as Toshi yelled, "Alright, use Stun Spore!"

Butterfree's wings shimmered as it released a cloud of paralysis-inducing powder towards the oncoming Beedrill. The Stun Spore enveloped the enemy Pokémon, causing it to falter mid-flight and struggle to stay aloft. Seizing the opportunity, Toshi shouted his next command, "Now, follow up with Silver Wind!"

Butterfree's wings began to glow with a silvery sheen as it whipped up a powerful gust of wind, carrying sparkling metallic flecks towards the Beedrill. The Silver Wind struck true, hitting the Beedrill with pinpoint accuracy and causing it to reel back from the force of the attack.

Misty and Kaito watched in awe as Toshi and Butterfree battled with unmatched synergy and resolve. The sounds of combat reverberated through the forest as the two Pokémon engaged in a stunning exhibition of prowess and tactics.

The Beedrill, now weakened by Butterfree's relentless assault, tried to counterattack, but the paralysis rendered its wings immobile, leaving it vulnerable to one final strike from its opponent.

With swift grace, Butterfree surged forward, its wings trailing a shimmering light as it closed in on the Beedrill. Toshi's heart raced as he witnessed the battle unfold, each move precise and deliberate. Butterfree's determination was tangible as it unleashed its ultimate attack—a breathtaking Bug Buzz that resonated throughout the clearing.

The Beedrill let out a shrill cry of defeat as the potent Bug-type move engulfed it, overwhelming its senses and leaving it unable to continue fighting. The once formidable foe now lay motionless on the forest floor, vanquished but not destroyed.

Toshi rushed to check on his fallen adversary, his expression softening with empathy as he knelt beside the Beedrill. Despite the battle's intensity, he felt respect for his opponent's strength and tenacity.

"You fought valiantly," Toshi murmured, his voice filled with gratitude as he recalled his sister's words. Though their intentions had not been to cause harm, the hive had simply been protecting their home, and he thought it fitting to show respect to a worthy opponent. As Toshi stood up, he turned to Misty and Kaito, a smile of relief and accomplishment on his face.

"We did it," he said, his voice laced with pride. "Thanks to Butterfree here." Misty and Kaito nodded in agreement, their faces reflecting Toshi's sense of triumph.

Shortly after the battle's conclusion, they heard the sound of running footsteps and turned to see Ashi approaching. She stopped upon seeing the fallen Beedrill and the newly evolved Pokémon fluttering nearby.

"Wait, is that you, Metapod?" Ashi asked as the Butterfree moved towards her, rubbing its head against hers. "You evolved! Congratulations!" She reached out to pet its head, and the Butterfree trilled happily.

"Well, I'm glad that's all settled," Kaito said, about to suggest they leave when Misty screamed, pointing behind them. "The Beedrills! They're back, and look!"

A larger Beedrill led the swarm, and Kaito's eyes widened in recognition. "It's the queen!" he gasped, noting her distinctive size among the returning Beedrill hive.

The group froze, with Ashi and Toshi bracing themselves as the Beedrill swarm approached, stopping just a few feet away. The queen held her swarm back from striking, and everyone waited anxiously. The Beedrill queen moved forward, pointing her stingers at Ashi and Toshi, gesturing for them to come closer.

Unsure of how to proceed without causing further conflict, Toshi and Ashi exchanged a worried glance before cautiously stepping forward. The Beedrill queen made a series of clicking sounds, as if communicating in an unknown language. Misty, Kaito, and Butterfree watched nervously, the tension thick in the air.

As the two stood before the queen, she made another gesture, which Ashi interpreted as a command to kneel. "Toshi, follow my lead," she whispered. Though confused, Toshi trusted Ashi and bent down, remaining still and hoping for the best.

Ashi spoke, "Your majesty, we implore you to forgive our intrusion into your home. It was not our intention to cause harm, and we only wish to rescue one of our own, as I'm sure you understand when it comes to your kin."

Butterfree interpreted the trainer's words and explained the situation before the fallen Beedrill managed to remove the spore and join the queen's side, buzzing to explain its perspective. The queen listened, considering their words before making her decision.

"Bzz Buzz." She gestured for the Beedrill to stand beside her, and another, the one Ashi had fought before, fluttered to the other side. The queen continued speaking in a way that, while the humans couldn't understand, they could guess her meaning.

After finishing her speech, the queen turned to the kneeling humans. Ashi remained still as she felt a light tap on her left shoulder, followed by her right. The queen repeated the gesture with Toshi before the two looked up to meet her ruby gaze. "Bbbeee bees bzzz!"

The queen addressed the other Beedrills, and the swarm seemed to come to a full understanding. Shortly after, a group appeared, carrying the missing bags from the nest and laying them down for the teens to retrieve later.

Misty, in disbelief, exclaimed, "Did a Beedrill just knight them?!" The unexpected event left her stunned, as such an occurrence had never been mentioned before. Kaito, however, saw it as a sign of trust and acceptance from the Beedrill queen.

As the tension in the clearing dissipated, the Beedrill queen approached Ashi and Toshi, her wings humming softly as she gently nudged them towards the two Beedrills they had battled. The queen recognized that these two were likely the strongest in her hive, and though they had fought valiantly, she acknowledged that Ashi and Toshi had earned her respect through their courage and humility. With a resounding "Beee!" she decided to bestow a reward upon them.

The queen stepped back, allowing Ashi and Toshi space to approach the two Beedrills. As they moved closer, the queen swelled with pride, knowing that her children had faced formidable opponents and that they had recognized the strength and valor in Ashi and Toshi.

Ashi reached out to the female Beedrill beside her, noticing a glimmer of awe and admiration in its compound eyes, reflecting a newfound respect. Similarly, Toshi felt a surge of emotion as he touched the Beedrill next to him, sensing a bond forged through battle and strengthened by mutual understanding.

The queen buzzed once more, pointing to Ashi and Toshi's Pokeballs and then to the two Beedrills. "Wait, are you serious?" Ashi asked, surprised. The queen nodded, and they turned to the Beedrills, wondering about their thoughts on the matter. The Beedrills chirped in agreement, approving of the idea—a gesture of goodwill and trust from the queen, symbolizing the bond they had formed.

Ashi and Toshi exchanged surprised yet grateful glances before reaching for their Pokeballs. "Okay, here we go!" they exclaimed, tapping the head of their chosen Beedrill. The Pokeballs barely shook before clicking, indicating successful captures. Ashi felt she had found a kindred spirit in her Beedrill, while Toshi shouted joyfully, "Alright, we caught another Pokemon!"

Kaito smiled, acknowledging that both Ashi and Toshi deserved this reward for their bravery and respect towards the Beedrill queen and her swarm. Misty nodded in agreement, still in awe of the turn of events. As the newly captured Beedrills materialized from their Pokeballs, a sense of accomplishment washed over the group. They watched as the two Pokemon bid farewell to their 'mother,' who, in turn, imparted one last message before allowing them to leave with their new trainers.

The Beedrill queen observed, her wings buzzing with satisfaction. With a final nod of approval, she took off to rejoin her hive, confident that two of her children were in good hands.

Misty's eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at the scene before her. "Wow, I never thought I'd see that happen," she remarked, echoing the thoughts of everyone around her. As the group gathered together, Toshi suddenly remembered something and spoke up, breaking the stunned silence. "Oh right, Leon and Raihan!"

A sense of urgency filled them all as they remembered their missing comrades. Without hesitation, Ashi took the lead, guiding them to where she had left Leon and Raihan. They approached a dark cave and found the two trainers lying unconscious inside, with Sora and Aratiri attending to them. As soon as the Pokemon saw Ashi approaching with the others, they rushed over excitedly, wagging their tails and chirping happily.

"Okay, you guys, settle down," Ashi said gently, addressing her Pokemon. "First, let me tend to Leon and Raihan." She opened her bag and pulled out a small bottle of medicine. Taking out some pills, she crushed them into powder and mixed it with water from her canteen. With gentle hands, she helped Leon sit up as she fed him the mixture while Kaito did the same for Raihan. As they drank the bitter concoction, Ashi rubbed Leon's throat to ease its passage, watching as his Adam's apple bobbed with each gulp.

The medicine worked quickly, and soon color returned to their pale faces as they began to stir. Confusion clouded their expressions before recognition dawned on them.

"Wh-what happened? Where are we?" Leon mumbled groggily, trying to sit up but wincing in pain from his injuries. Ashi supported him with one hand on his back as she explained what had transpired.

"You both were stung with Beedrills' venom and I went to grab my stuff that was in their nest, but don't worry, everything's fine now," she reassured them with a smile.

As Misty helped Raihan sit up, he couldn't help but notice Toshi's unusual attire. "Toshi, uh, what are you wearing?" Feeling self-conscious, Toshi blushed and fidgeted with his shirt. "Well, it's kind of a long story. We took matters into our own hands and guess what? Sis and I caught our own Beedrills and even got to meet the queen!"

"Really?" Raihan raised an eyebrow skeptically, but Kaito and Misty quickly jumped in to confirm Toshi's story.

"It's true! We were there and witnessed everything. The Queen herself even knighted them before her hive," they exclaimed.

Raihan's disbelief was evident, but Toshi was quick to prove his words by releasing his newly caught Beedrill from its Pokeball. With its stingers raised proudly, the insect Pokemon stood tall before them all.

"Well, I guess we really missed out on all the excitement then," Leon chuckled weakly, realizing that in their injured state, they wouldn't have been much help.

Ashi placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. "What matters is that we made it through and everything is settle now."

"Actually, sis, that's not entirely true!" Toshi turned to Misty with a mischievous grin on his face. She looked puzzled until he released his Butterfree from its Pokeball and had it stand beside his Beedrill. "I think you know what I'm talking about,"

"Wait, seriously?!" Misty glanced around for support, but Ashi and the Galar Trainers were clueless, while Kaito understood Toshi's intentions. "It's only fair to make things right, you know," Toshi said.

Misty groaned, realizing what he meant. "Okay, fine!" She took a moment to compose herself and turned to the Butterfree, who recalled her being the 'whack job' and braced itself in case she brought out the mallet.

"I'm sorry for hitting you when you were a Caterpie," Misty apologized sincerely. "I should have known better and considered your feelings."

The Butterfree blinked in surprise, its large compound eyes softening as it understood her sincerity. It fluttered closer and landed gently on her outstretched hand. Misty held her breath, unsure of the Pokemon's reaction, but instead of anger, the Butterfree nuzzled her hand affectionately, forgiving her past transgressions. Relief flooded through Misty as a newfound understanding passed between them.

Toshi grinned. "Good, now then..." He pointed to his Beedrill waiting next to him. Misty froze, thinking he couldn't be serious.

"Come on, Misty, you made things uneasy, and while the Queen might have let this slide, I think you should deliver a personal apology to them as well," Toshi urged.

Misty hesitated, feeling embarrassed and guilty. Knowing Toshi was right, she took a deep breath and turned to the Beedrill, her heart pounding.

"I... I'm sorry," Misty whispered. The Beedrill cocked its head, studying her sincerity, then shrugged, saying it would let it slide for now.

"Buzz Bzz!" (But if I ever see you bring out that accursed hammer to any of my kin, you better sleep with one eye open for the rest of your days!)

"See, he forgave you!" Toshi said. Sora, having a better understanding, thought it best to give Ashi a heads-up so she could keep an eye on both Beedrills and Misty, just in case the girl did something stupid again to bring this whole mess down on their heads.

After Leon and Raihan started feeling their strength returning and could move about freely, they gathered their belongings and decided to continue their journey to Pewter City.

"If you take this route, you will surely reach the forest's exit before sundown," Kaito informed them.

"That's wonderful to hear!" Misty rejoiced at the idea of getting out of the woods faster. Seeing as the others were also heading that way, she figured it would be safer to stick with them.

As they waved farewell to Kaito and prepared to continue on their way, Ashi and Toshi paused for a moment. "What's the hold up now?" Misty asked.

"Well, while Masamune and Butterfree got to meet the new members of the team, it's not fair to leave the rest out of welcoming them," Ashi explained.

"Wait, seriously?!" Misty and Raihan were about to complain, but Leon interjected, "That's a good idea. You should let us make sure your comrades get to know one another so they can work together effectively in battle."

Ashi and Toshi nodded in agreement, realizing the importance of introducing their Pokemon properly. They called out their other team members, and soon Masamune, Butterfree, Beedrill, and the rest of their Pokemon gathered together. The atmosphere was tense at first, with each Pokemon eyeing the newcomers warily.

"Everyone, say hello to the newest member of our team, Suzumebachi!" Ashi announced, feeling the name was perfect for the Beedrill, who took it with a proud buzz. The Beedrill seemed to puff up with a sense of importance at being formally introduced to the rest of the team. Sora, Yoruchi, and Sekhmet made to greet her, while Aratiri waved his hand, shouting, "Pika!" as a sign of welcome.

"Scyther Scy!" Masamune was happy to have another bug Pokemon joining him. Since she showed great promise, he thought it would be good for both of them to sharpen their skills side by side. The Beedrill found it mutual after their battle and was sure they would be sparring again later.

"It feels like they're getting along just fine," Leon observed as Ashi's team welcomed Suzumebachi with open arms. He stepped over to introduce himself, "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Suzumebachi!" Suzumebachi eye-smiled at the violet-haired trainer, "Bzz Buzz!"

Seeing as everyone was showing their approval of the newest addition, the same could be said for Toshi, though with more panache! After his teammates got over finding that once again the bug type had out-evolved them, a record among the other members of the team, they accepted that Butterfree wasn't lording it over them and was still the same sweet, green little buddy they had met.

Now, with another bug type as part of the team dynamics, it was time to lay out some rules. The Beedrill and Butterfree exchanged a meaningful look before shaking hand and drill, signifying their mutual respect after the battle. "Free/Bzz!" (That was a great match/Yeah, but I won't go easy on you next time!)

"Free!" (Bring your best game then, because I won't hold back either!) A spark of rivalry flashed between them as they glowered at one another. Toshi, misinterpreting the exchange, exclaimed, "Ah, look! They're becoming good friends!"

"Pika Pi!" Aratiri said to Sora, who shook his head and replied, "Let's not intervene." After all, a bit of friendly competition keeps things interesting.

"Alright, now that that's settled, let's get moving! Pewter City awaits!" Ashi declared, urging the group onward.

Just as they were about to continue their journey, Misty's piercing scream shattered the tranquility. Everyone turned to find her frantically trying to escape a Weedle nuzzling her leg. Instinctively, Misty reached for a mallet to swat the bug, but the group reacted swiftly.

"Misty, remember our agreement. Let's maintain the peace," Ashi reminded her calmly. The group knew they couldn't afford any disruptions, and Misty realized she needed to control her impulses, at least until they safely exited the forest. However, her overwhelming fear of bugs caused her to shriek once more. "I can't handle this!"

Seeking refuge, Misty bolted towards the only place she felt secure. Leon and Toshi stepped aside as Misty leaped onto Raihan, much to his annoyance. (Not again,) he thought.

"Stop yelling in my ear and get off me!" Raihan grumbled, struggling under Misty's weight. His headband slipped over his eyes, causing him to lose balance. In a matter of seconds, both Misty and Raihan tumbled into a puddle of mud, getting thoroughly dirty. "Arceus, why me?"

As Misty and Raihan attempted to wipe off the mud, Leon stood beside Ashi, observing the comical scene. Unable to resist, he commented, "Well, it looks like Misty and Raihan make quite the duo, don't they?"

Ashi nodded, a small smile tugging at her lips as she watched the muddy pair bickering and trying to clean themselves up. "Maybe a little mud will help cool those fiery tempers," she mused, gesturing towards them. Toshi shook his head with a knowing grin, while Sora and Aratiri exchanged amused glances.

Finally managing to stand up and brush off most of the mud, Misty and Raihan shot each other exasperated looks before stomping away, both stewing and blaming the other for the mishap.

Leon shook his head, but as he walked alongside Ashi and Toshi, a thought crossed his mind like a sudden gust of wind, and he couldn't help but share it with them.

"By the way," he said to Ashi, his expression puzzled, "I experienced some pretty wild hallucinations. The venom from those Beedrill really did a number on me. I had no idea it could have such an adverse effect on humans." Ashi and Toshi blinked in surprise, their eyes widening in curiosity as they waited for him to elaborate. Raihan, who couldn't help but overhear, chimed in with a chuckle, "Yeah, it's crazy to think that Sora here could talk or even perform the Alolan Nanab Song, isn't it?"

"Yeah, that's what I was thinking," Leon said and Ashi noticed the two Galar trainers trying to stifle their laughter at the absurdity of the situation.

Ashi and her brother exchanged a secret glance behind their backs before turning to look at Litten, who stared back at them with a "Don't ask" expression. Ashi couldn't help but shake her head in disbelief at the bizarre predicament they found themselves in.

As they continued on their journey, she hoped that they could put this strange experience behind them and reach Pewter City without any more unexpected obstacles.

Omake - The Things a Pokemon gotta do

Leon and Raihan were in a dire state as Ashi departed to seek out the Beedrill's nest, leaving Aratiri and Sora in charge of watching over their fellow trainers. The two Pokémon exchanged worried glances, feeling helpless without their trainer by their side.

Sora sighed, regretting not going with Ashi instead of staying behind. But then an idea struck him and he moved towards Leon's belt, releasing all of his Pokémon companions - Charizard, Inteleon, Cinderace, Rillaboom, Dragapult, and Mr. Rime. "Pika?" Pikachu questioned curiously as he watched Aratiri unleash the others.

"I was hoping they might have some knowledge on caring for sick humans," The Litten explained to the gathered Pokémon, gesturing towards Leon and Raihan who lay on the ground before them. Charizard let out a loud roar, demanding to know what had happened while the others shook their heads in response to Aratiri's query.

"I know I'm just a Pokémon, but surely you've dealt with something like this before?" Sora pleaded with them. Before anyone could respond, Leon suddenly sat up with a groan. Sora froze upon seeing his trainer looking directly at him. This was not good - if Leon realized that he had been talking, it could spell trouble for Ashi and Toshi as well. Sora knew he had to do something to distract Leon.

"Day-o, day-o!" Sora began singing in a surprisingly accurate Jamaican accent, catching everyone off guard. Leon blinked in confusion as he tried to make sense of the sudden musical interlude.

"What in the world..." he muttered, looking around in bewilderment. Raihan paused his attempts at standing up upon hearing Sora's singing voice. "Is that...Sora?" he asked incredulously.

"Daylight come and me wan' go home
Day, me say day, me say day, me say day
Me say day, me say day-o
Daylight come and me wan' go home~"

The Litten continued his energetic performance, with the Rillaboom joining in by playing a steady rhythm on his drums. Aratiri watched with a mix of shock and amusement as Sora belted out the lyrics to "Day-O" with surprising enthusiasm.

"Work all night on a drink of rum!" Sora danced over to Rillaboom, somehow managing to communicate that he wanted him to join in on the fun. The large Pokémon happily obliged, adding to the lively beat with his powerful drumming skills.

Daylight come and me wan' go home

Stack nanab 'til de mornin' come!

Daylight come and me wan' go home!

Sora's body swayed in fluid movements, his arms outstretched and hips swinging to the rhythm of the music. Even Cinderace and Inteleon couldn't resist tapping their feet along in perfect sync. The irresistible beat had even caught Mr. Rime off guard, causing him to abandon his usual composed demeanor and join in on the impromptu performance. With a twirl of his cane, he too began dancing to the lively tune. Amidst the infectious energy, Sora tossed some rocks to Aratiri, playfully commanding him with a catchy chant: "Come, mister tally man, tally me Nanab!" As they shook the rocks up and down and used them as makeshift maracas, the group continued their spontaneous dance, lost in the joyous moment.

Daylight come and me wan' go home

Come, mister tally man, tally me nanab

Daylight come and me wan' go home

"Lift six foot, seven foot, eight foot bunch!" Cinderace move to lift his feet about into the spring of things while Sora kept to singing the odd but intriguing music.

Daylight come and me wan' go home

Six foot, seven foot, eight foot bunch

Daylight come and me wan' go home

"Okay what the…" Raihan looked on in disbelief as the impromptu performance continued, the Pokemon dancing and singing in perfect harmony. Leon, still groggy, blinked rapidly trying to make sense of what was happening around him. As the music filled the air, a smile tugged at his lips despite his confusion knowing this was all a dream, it has to be.

Day, me say day-o

Daylight come and me wan' go home

Day, me say day, me say day, me say day

Daylight come and me wan' go home!

Sora then brings to grab a bunch of leaves and throws it to Inteleon which he puts to make a supposed headdress and seeing to dance along with the others. "A beautiful bunch o' ripe nanab!"

"Daylight come and me wan' go home!" Inteleon gracefully twirled with the leaf headdress, adding a touch of elegance to the lively dance. The synchronization between the Pokemon was uncanny, as if they had rehearsed this performance for weeks instead of spontaneously coming up with it in the spur of the moment.

Hide the spuny spinarak~

Daylight come and me wan' go home

Lift six foot, seven foot, eight foot bunch

Daylight come and me wan' go home

The music and dancing continued, the Pokemon moving as one in a joyous celebration that seemed to defy all logic. Raihan couldn't help but chuckle at the sight before him, the absurdity of it all as this was all a hallucination of his as there is no way this was real. But he might as well enjoy it.

Six foot, seven foot, eight foot bunch

Daylight come and me wan' go home

Day, me say day-o

Daylight come and me wan' go home

Day, me say day, me say day, me say day

Daylight come and me wan' go home

"Okay I'm sure this is all in my head…" Leon thinking no way was he seeing a singing Sora and his Pokemon doing some sort of weird performance and Raihan also couldn't believe what he was witnessing. Sora move to get close to the two and seeing to be sitting on both their shoulders while singing to them, "Come, mister tally man, tally me nanab!"

Daylight come and me wan' go home

Come, mister tally man, tally me nanab

Daylight come and me wan' go home

The music swelled to a crescendo as the Pokemon continued their energetic performance, each movement perfectly in sync with the beat of the song. It was a sight to behold, the normally fierce and stoic creatures letting loose in an impromptu dance party for their ill trainers.

Day-o, day-o

Daylight come and me wan' go home

Day, me say day, me say day, me say day

Me say day, me say day-o

Daylight come and me wan' go home!

As the song came to an end, Sora struck a dramatic pose, sending sparks of ember out like fireworks in the background and flickering in the dim light of the cave. The other Pokemon followed suit, freezing in a tableau of triumph and camaraderie. For a moment, there was silence as everyone caught their breath, the echoes of the song fading into the cavernous space around them. But when they look to the two humans to find they had passed out once more, likely still a bit weak from the venom and seeing to fall right back into lala land, much to their given relief.

"Ughhh, that was way tooo close…" Sora plop on his front, Aratiri dropping the shakers while everyone else plop to the floor exhausted. Inteleon remove the headdress before turning to the Litten, "Intel Intel."

The fire cat groaning as he wave his paw even though his face was still implanted in the dirt, too spent to move another muscle now after pulling off that crazy shenanigan. "Ugh fine I'll take it up with Ashi!" Hopefully she'll be in a good mood and be willing to make a week's worth of Poffins after what they had to do.
